(crud) stored procedures generator script

Hi,
I am wondering if somebody can help me.
I need an oracle sql script that create a package with stored procedures for the basic CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations for each table in my database.
For example:
Table EMP
When the sql script has finished then there is a package created (specification and body) with the name:
EMP_PCK (this is an example)
inside the package the implementation of the following procedures:
- EMP_PCK.emp_sel
- EMP_PCK.emp_upd
- EMP_PCK.emp_insrt
- EMP_PCK.emp_del
I did find a script but that'si for SQL-SERVER 2000 :-(
link: [http://www.sqlbook.com/scripts/AutoGenerateCRUDStoredProcs.txt]
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
John

Sorry Patrick (or is it John),... can't help you there.
You probably have a good reason why you want it in a script and not in a tool....

  • Calling stored procedure from script on remote server

We are migrating our database to a virtual server environment. On the current dedicated environment, the database and scripts(calling stored procedures) are on the same server. In the new envoirnment, the scripts, input and output files will be on a different server. Does anyone have any examples of scripts on one server calling stored procedures on another server. Don't laugh, but the db server is currently running Oracle 9i (part of the new enviornment to move to 11g).

sorry my terminolgy is not correct. the stored procedure is in the database and the database is on server a. The script is on server b. In your example you show how to log onto the database. That I know. In your example your example, how would you point to server b so you can log onto the database?Do you want to mean that your procedure (location A) want to call a script from location B ?
make the script located folder as shared and ,You may try this
    //server_name/folder_name/file_name.xxxHope this helps

  • [b]Java Stored Procedure generating ora-932 in Oracle 9i [/b]

    Hi ,
I have written a Java Stored procedure. And I have written a wrapper function as bellow
    FUNCTION "GENERATE_AC_EXCEL_REPORT_FN"
( refCursorCall VARCHAR2, fromDate Date, ToDate Date,
    nsn VARCHAR2, period varchar2, site VARCHAR2,
    vendor VARCHAR2, spotbuyType VARCHAR2, dataType, VARCHAR2 )
    return number

    java.lang.String, java.lang.String , java.lang.String) return int';
This function returns 1000 upon successful execution.
This used to execute fine in Oracle 8.1.7.
    We installed Oracle 9i recently.
    Server version is 9.2.0.2.1.
    Jserver version is 9.2.0.2.0 .
Now The function call works fine for the first time. And When execute it for sencond time in the same Session,
The program is erring out saying inconsistent data typpes.
This is happening during passing parameters.
    SQL> select

And upon further testing, i noticed this happens when the dates are passed. If date parameters are nulled out, Then the program executes perfectly any number of times.
The same program worked fine in Oracle 8.1.6
    Any ideas?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinivas,
you shouldn't be calling conn.close() and its not needed when using Server Side Internal driver. If you are calling conn.close, then .....
    extract from JDBC user guide
If you do call the close() method, be aware of the following:
All connection instances obtained through the defaultConnection() method, which actually all reference the same connection object, will be closed and
unavailable for further use, with state and resource cleanup as appropriate. Executing defaultConnection() afterward would result in a new connection
    object.
Even though the connection object is closed, the implicit connection to the database will not be closed.

  • [Data Services]Calling stored procedure from scripts in parrallel workflows

    Hello.
I am using Data Services XI .3.2 with Oracle Database 11g
    Situation is like this:
I have a workflow that has a script that using function sql() performs a simple select.
    Example:
    sql('DW_CTL','select 1 from dual');
If I call this workflow 4 times in parrallel, the job is somehow locked and waits for undefinitely time.
But If I call these 4 workflows in secvential order, it completes successfully.
My problem: how do i make it run in parallel ? Why do i have this problem ?
Does anyone have a clue ?
    Regards,
    Radian

I am using Reports 9i & use JDBS query. When it gets to the section that says enter SQL or Stored proc, I enter a simple TEST proc which takes no params & get error msg as explained before ... I don't see any info in the Reports manual as to how to call a proc ... where would I find that info?
    Thx.

  • Sample C# Stored-Procedure Deployment Script

Would it be possible to post a sample script that the .NET Deployment Wizard will produce? I've looked at the DBMS_CLR package, and I think I have everything in place for a manual deploy. But I'm still getting an error:
    ORA-20100: System.TypeLoadException
Could not load type Class1 from assembly CLRLibrary1
So, something is missing. It would nice to have a "preview" from you guys :-)
    Thanks for any info,
    Tom Jordan

Due to the way it is implemented, you won't be able to write your own custom deployment scripts because part of the script is wrapped (obfuscated). This is because we plan to change the internal implementation at a later date and don't want people depending on the current implementation. Even if I posted an example script, part of it would be wrapped and so it wouldn't help you.
When ODT 10.2 comes out, you can use the deployment wizard to generate the script file... from there you can deploy it manually as you need to.

  • Improve the performance in stored procedure using sql server 2008 - esp where clause in very big table - Urgent

    Hi,
I am looking for inputs in tuning stored procedure using sql server 2008. l am new to performance tuning in sql, plsql and oracle. currently facing issue in stored procedure - need to increase the performance by code optmization/filtering the records using where clause in larger table., the requirement is Stored procedure generate Audit Report which is accessed by approx. 10 Admin Users typically 2-3 times a day by each Admin users.
It has got CTE ( common table expression ) which is referred 2  time within SP. This CTE is very big and fetches records from several tables without where clause. This causes several records to be fetched from DB and then needed processing. This stored procedure is running in pre prod server which has 6gb of memory and built on virtual server and the same proc ran good in prod server which has 64gb of ram with physical server (40sec). and the execution time in pre prod is 1min 9seconds which needs to be reduced upto 10secs or so will be the solution. and also the exec time differs from time to time. sometimes it is 50sec and sometimes 1min 9seconds..
Pl provide what is the best option/practise to use where clause to filter the records and tool to be used to tune the procedure like execution plan, sql profiler?? I am using toad for sqlserver 5.7. Here I see execution plan tab available while running the SP. but when i run it throws an error. Pl help and provide inputs.
    Thanks,
    Viji

You've asked a SQL Server question in an Oracle forum.  I'm expecting that this will get locked momentarily when a moderator drops by.
Microsoft has its own forums for SQL Server, you'll have more luck over there.  When you do go there, however, you'll almost certainly get more help if you can pare down the problem (or at least better explain what your code is doing).  Very few people want to read hundreds of lines of code, guess what's it's supposed to do, guess what is slow, and then guess at how to improve things.  Posting query plans, the results of profiling, cutting out any code that is unnecessary to the performance problem, etc. will get you much better answers.

You need to put your select statement in a parameterised function that returns a REF CURSOR. This is all well documented in the PL/SQL users guide.
Then you amend your SQL*PLUS script to call the function
    VAR rc REFCURSOR
    EXEC :rc := yr_function('&1')
    PRINT rc

  • Problem using script stored procedure as using EXEC dbo.sp_executesql

When I use the Script Stored Procedure AS Create or Drop And Create I want to get the stored procedure returned like in 2008 some how I have missed a setting and I am getting it like this.  I get the sp_executesql instead of just the create procedure
and if I use a single quote it encloses them in single quotes.  Can some one please give me the setting I can't find it?
    IF
    NOTEXISTS(SELECT*FROMsys.objectsWHEREobject_id=OBJECT_ID(N'[dbo].[usp_record_count]')ANDtypein(N'P',N'PC'))
    BEGIN
    EXEC
    dbo.sp_executesql@statement
    =N'--DECLARE
    @tablename AS sysname;
    --SET @tablename = ''[Production].[Product]''
    CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[usp_record_count]
    (@tablename sysname)
    AS
    BEGIN
    SET NOCOUNT OFF
    EXECUTE (''SELECT COUNT(*) FROM '' + @tablename)
    END
    END
    Thank you for you help!!!!
    Antonio

If you have Include IF NOT EXISTS clause
    to TRUE
    then SQL wraps
the script in a sp_executesql statement no matter how you generate the script including above cases. To get rid of SQL wraps
the sp_executesql statement need to set it to FALSE.
AFAIK only alternative is to use
    sp_helptext 'proc_name'

  • Call a UNIX shell script from an oracle stored procedure

We need to call a UNIX shell script from an oracle stored procedure
i.e. the control should come back to the procedure once the script completes. Can any body help to achieve this ?

There are various ways in achieving this.
For Example, you can call a PRO*C-Library residing on the database server.
This requires a PL/SQL library to be generated and some changes to the Listener configuration.
It is also possible to implement a java procedure on the database being invoked by a PL/SQL wrapper class.
In this way (and if used right) there is also granularity regarding the filestructure permissions given and it may be called during a Forms or other PL/SQL session.
The article below explains a more generic approach how to invoke shell commands from within an Oracle Instance.
Be careful with this, because it really works ;)

  • How to generate XML Publisher report from PLSQL Stored Procedure in APPS

    Hi,
I have concurrent program of type PLSQL Stored procedure.I need to generate XML Publisher report from the same.I have changed the output of the concurrent program as "XML" but when I tried running it,the XML tags are not generated.Due to this I am unable to create the template. Its a urgent issue.
    Please help me out .
    Thanks in advance.
    Kaveri

    Hi Kaveri
Sadly there is nothing magic about that output field. The only program type that you can flip it to XML and then magically get XML is for Oracle Reports. For plsql you will need to recode the plsql to generate XML rather than text that you have now.
You have some options, best option first:
    1. Move the sql to a data template - check the user guide and blog for help or
    2. Use SQL XML or XMLGEN (not great for large datasets) or
    3. Use dbms_output.put_line and write the XML file manually - not performant at all

This is what I've understood from your question. You want to replace @TradeIn_2_VIN value if @TradeIn_1_VIN
is NULL, else the value of @TradeIn_1_VIN.
If this is the requirement then, your CASE statement is missing ELSE part. You can re-write this as below
case when  @TradeIn_1_VIN is null then @TradeIn_2_VIN
    ELSE @TradeIn_1_VIN end,
or simply you can replace the CASE statement with the below
    COALESCE function,
    COALESCE(@TradeIn_1_VIN, @TradeIn_2_VIN),

  • How to generate a report from stored procedure

I would like to generate a report from stored procedure.
I used to work on sql server. this can be done as easy as put a select statement at the end of stored procedure.
The resule can be displayed on the development IDE, like sql developer or consume by Java JDBC client.
is there equivalent way to do this in Oracle stored procedure?

    Hi,
What type of report you are looking..for.. ??
As you said that "I used to work on sql server. this can be done as easy as put a select statement at the end of stored procedure. "
When you execute it will return the result set and you will display directly on the FrontEnd.. Is my Understanding is correct Up to here.
See, In oracle you have call some custom stored procedures as you did in SQL Sever, but you have return the Results Sets, with help of Out put paramter, Either Cursors or Varrays..
or Else you can generate the Html reports based on your requirement, HTML can be used in the stored procedures of Oracle which will generate for your, you need to code it.
I could not able get the relevant link for your reference.
I will get back to you on this.

  • Executing a shell script from pl/sql stored procedure

    Hi,
    I have Oracle 8i on HP-UX.
I am passing a shell script name as a parameter to a user defined function from a pl/sql stored procedure. This user defined function has insterface to a user defined Java class file in Aurora java virtual machine which is written using runtime class which can execute any OS command or any shell script. I am getting any OS command run successfully, but could not run my own shell script. It's is not getting environment variables of my own, so not getting executed. So please suggest how can get these env variables in my shell script and also suggest other sucurity concerns to be taken into consideration.
If you have any questions please let me know.
This is really a very urgent issue.....
    Please help me.
    Thanks
    Srinivasa Rao Kolla

Your best bet is to use the dbms_pipe builtin package to send the command to the host
