Crystal report sample with addon

Hi !!
I'm looking for an addon sample that calls a report made with crystal report and prints it. If anyone could leave a sample code or just e-mail me a sample i would appreciate it very much and it would help me understand the works of it.

Hi Rodmmy, as I read, you made several add-ons that use Crystal report. I'm doing an add-on too. On my computer, all work perfectly, but on another computer (non developing computer, but standard office computer, i.e. not visual studio, etc) I always receive a prompt asking for username, password, database and server name. Whatever I enter, logon is not successful and no data is showed.
I have 2 questions:
1- Does it really matter if I use a regular sqlconnection/sqldataadapter/sqlcommand to fill my dataset or I'd better to use a SAP recordset?
2- I wrote to Crystal Report for this issue and they said to include merge modules in my installer, but because Im not doing a standard Windows Installer (project deployment in Visual Studio) I don't really know how to include all required dll in the SAP installer. How do you do it?

How to integrate Crystal Report 2008 with java

Currently we are using Crystal Report XI with our application, it is working fine. Now we are updating to Crystal Report 2008.
We have build our application in enterprise archive file. There is a web archive file(.war) file in the EAR file which contains the crystal report. Inside the .war file we have reports folder which contain jsps and rpt folder. the jsps folder contains the crystalreportviewers12 folder and .jsp files. The rpt folder contain the.rpt files. The WEB-INF which is at the reports folder leavel contains the classes and lib folder. The crystal report jars are in the lib folder and the CRConfig.xml file inside the classes folder. I replaced all the crystal report jar with Crystal Report 2008 jars, modified the web.xml and the CRConfig.xml file accordingly. When I opened the report it gave me an error.
When the following line was execuated in the jsp:

Hello Ted,
As per the samples in the link provided by you I identified that the following statement was missing.
reportClientDocument.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
After adding this statement the jsp was not able to compile, it gave me an error:
ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString cannot be resolved
Now my queries are:
1. What is Report Application server(RAS)?
2. Is it required to set Report application server in JSP page? It was not required in Crystal Reports XI. If YES, then how to configure RAS inside our applications WAR file?
3. I am using WebSphere Application Server for deploying the WEB Archive file (WAR file). The Crystal Reports 2008 library (JARS) are embedded inside the WEB-INF/lib folder. How to specify the RAS server inside thhe WAR file? Is it some XML configuration file which we have to keep at WEB-INF level? Or we have to modify the existing CRConfig.xml file?
4. I would like to mention here that we have bundled crystalreportviewers12/ folder in our WAR file at the same level where reports JSP pages exits.

SAP BO 4.1 Webi report sample with prompts to try Restful api

I was not able to find, in the report demo samples available in the SAP BO 4.1 installation, a Webi report with prompts.
I found many Webi reports samples but all are without prompts.
I need at least one Webi report sample with prompts to try the Restful API http://localhost:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/7090/parameters and http://localhost:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/7090/schedules with parameters body.
Where can I found such webi sample?

As you have BI 4.1 installed, you could design a sample webi report using Webi Rich Client tool.
Open Webi rich client, select the sample eFashion universe drag few objects in the query and a filter. Set the filter as a prompt and save the report to Enterprise.
Now you could now use this sample report for your handson on REST SDK.

Crystal Reports 2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1

Hi All,
We are in the process of implementing CR2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1.
We have completed the installation successfully. We can connect from CR2008 client desktop directly to BI-7 using the BO SAP Connector. But We have the following issues,
1) On CMC (OB Ent Server) we don't see any business object related roles in the list of values under the authorization. We see 3 J2EE related roles only. We did everything according to the documentation. Changed JCO (sapjco.jar) along with the DLLs to various versions and even changed the 64bit to 32bit but no luck. Classpath is also set in Tomcat but still we don't see any of the BO related roles.
2) We have created a connection to universe using Designer (BO Ent). But when we try to connect from CR2008 to universe though the Business Object Enterprise Server using the client desktops, we can only select the fields for the query. But when we try to confirm the query we get a message saying NOT LOGGED ON.
Are we doing the right thing ? We have BI-7 installed on Windows 2003 (64 Bit Server) and BO Enterprise Server XI 3.1 and SAP Connector XI 3.1 Server was also installed on the same server. We have client desktops with Crystal Report 2008 with SAP Connector Client installed.
What are we missing ?
Appreciate if you could kindly help us to get this problem solved as this is dragging for a while now.

Hello,
From the looks of things on MS web site about this product it appears it uses MS SQL Server. You should be able to create CR reports off of that DB using either ODBC or OLE DB. What tables to use I have no idea so you'll have to browse the database tables.
To do so using OLE DB create a new report and select OLE DB and then select the server name where the MS server is installed, log in and then you'll be able to see the databases and tables. From there you are on your own.
To use ODBC, Open the ODB Administrator in Control Panel and clcik on the System DSN tab and add a new DSN. Select MS SQL Server and the driver, enter in the log on info and select the default database.
For more info I suggest you search Microsofts Forums on which database and tables to use.

Crystal Report problem with VS2005

I have installed evaluation copy of crystal report 2008 for .net. I am using VS 2005.
I have created reports using default crystal report that comes with VS 2005(version 10).Reports are upgraded to version 12 and running fine, but I am not able to use some design time features of report with .net. and these are working well with crystal report s/w.
1.Tool tip for bar chart doesn't displayed.Where as It displayed in crystal report.
2.Series option in preview mode to convert particular bar to line is not available.Where as this option is available in crystal report.

Both embedded designer in VS as well as application have the same problem.
when I open sample report (.rpt) in embedded designer it has the same problem.
I also tried after uninstalling crystal report basic then reinstalling crystal report 2008 but it doesn't solve the problem.

Crystal Reports 10 with Visual Studio 2010

We have Crystal Reports 10, which I have installed. The viewer provided with the install runs fine. We have an application that has an embedded viewer.
Then I'm just trying to get the simple C# sample code to run in VS2010, which is just a form with the viewer component reading an existing .rpt file. But I get a "Load report failed" error with no other details. Seems like it really should be simple. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
I'm running Win7 64, but compiling in x86 mode.

Well, you have two options;
1) Go with the version of CR that bundles with .NET2005 (CR 10.2)
2) Go with CRVS2010 and VS2010
CR10.0 is not supported in either .NET2005 or .NET2010. See [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/WhichCrystalReportsassemblyversionsaresupportedinwhichversionsofVisualStudio+.NET] wiki for more info.
There are no work-arounds, no nothing that I can help with or recommend.

How to integrate crystal report 9 with java

I have installed the crystal report and J-Integra also.
but I am not able to find the crystl32.ocx in my c:\windows\system32 folder .
So I downloaded it separately and use the J-Integra's com2java convertor to generate crystal package.
Then as per manual I compiled that package and created crystal.jar file.

The Crystal Reports Sample (Eclipse)

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, please help! I can't even get the sample to work. No matter what I try (and I have tried a lot of things) I get the following error trying to access a simple CrystalReport1-viewer.jsp page.

I created a simple report (1 table, select every row) it displays fine in the Eclipse env (445 rows). I built the viewer page according to the instructions I found somewhere on this forum (posted by a business obj employee) and I still get the error! I have deployed the crystal reports project to BEA Weblogic 8.1.
The database connection is ODBC.
The error is always thrown from this line of code :
clientDoc.open(reportName, OpenReportOptions._openAsReadOnly);
I have even gone so far as to hard code the actual path (not relative) to the actual rpt file (with no luck).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update : OK I started from scratch and have made progress.
Now what doesn't seem to work is the report viewer can never find the report file (*.rpt). I take it Crystal does NOT search the classpath. I used the "create viewer" and it added the path to the rpt file (which is no path). I deployed the WebContent app to BEA 8.1 as an "exploded" application and Crystal can't find the file even though its in the same directory.

What is the trick to get this stuff to actually work?
I deployed the app as a war file and got the same result.
WHY CAN'T IT FIND THE REPORT!!!

Crystal Report Layout With Prompts SAP BO v8.8

Forum members,
I can successfully import a Crystal Report with parameters as a REPORT type into SAP BO 8.8. But when I attempt to upload the same report as a LAYOUT type, I receive the error, "Missing Parameters" and the import process halts even when I set a value as the default value for the parameters. I have two questions:
1. Does SAP BO v8.8 support Crystal Report parameters in print layouts? If it does,
2. How do I resolve this error message and get this functionality to work?

I ended up submitting this to SAP support as a bug. Found that we can successfully print using the preview button first and then printing from that interface but sending the report directly to the printer or pdf generates an error.

How do I create a crystal report layout with a table and borders

My crystal report is a signin sheet. The sign in sheet has an ID column, Name column, Institution column, Place to signin column, and Weekday columns with checkboxes in each column for the visitor to checkoff.
How do I display the data that is being used int he crystal report in a table layout with borders around each cell? And is it possible to center vertical alignment of the data within eacvh cell like Excel?

Seriously though... There is no vertical alignment in CR. There have been several past threads related to this issue and all of them have various workarounds. None of them are very elegant.
The best workaround I've found (especially if you are grid or borders) is to turn off the boarders for the field itself and drawl a rectangle around the field(s). Now you can place the field in the lower portion of the rectangle and adjust the rectangles height to place the field text in the center of the rectangle.
This will give you more control over the height of your elements than using a carriage return before the text.

this report calls a stored procedure (sql server). the report displays the data but the same is not the case when i call ity from my java application. with a single parameter it works fine (even though i get a "Some parameters are missing values" ERROR on the console. But when i pass, say 2 parameters, it give me the above error first and then "JDBC Error: Parameter 2 not set or registered for output"
Can anyone bail me out of this one?

I don't know about naming conventions, but could the @ signs in the variable names cause a problem?
How have you set up the mapping in Crystal?
Is this parameter 2 an "out" parameter returning a value?
What version of Java are you using?
Version of Crystal?
What JDBC driver?

Server error in printing in server using crystal report 2008 with VS2008

Hi,
We are using Crystal report 2008 in VS 2008. Everything working fine in local but when we deployed it in the server we are getting the below while print the report.
"An error occurred on the server. Printing will be stopped. Would you like to view the error information"
Anyhow the report is printing but I don't know why this error is occur and how to stop this. I had installed the CR runtime in the server. I dont know what is going wrong. The same we tested locally in a non crystal report installed PC.
Please help me to get rid out of this error.

Soemthing strange going on here.
Typically this Integrated vs Classic is an issue with images where Classic uses web.config tags between <system.web><httpHandlers><u2026 crystalimagehandler../></httphandlers></system.web>
Integrated uses tags between <system.webserver>u2026<handlers><..crystalimagehandler/></handlers></system.webserver>
Not sure why this would affect printing. Do you have tags that specifying where to download the printcontrol from? On the other hand, I would think that if images had anything to do with it, then you'd get red Xs when viewing. As far as I know, the printcontrol.cab doesnu2019t need to be specified in the <system.webserver> tags.
