Crystal report to weblogic workshop

Question

hi,
using crystal reports 10 to define template reports and trying to view them thru an application in workshop. i connect from reports to the db using a system dsn "X". This DSN is the same as the datasource configured in my workshop app server.
The report calls a stored procedure in the db.
problem: crystal reports displays the report data when i view it from the crystal client. but when my procedure has any inserts or delete statements in it, the java client fails to display the report and throws : "No Results were returned by the query. "
could the problem be solved if i directly try to connect to the jndi datasource defined in the workshop app server instead of connecting to the db from a system dsn which points to it.
web.xml has the following added to it for this purpose:

<env-entry-name>jdbc/XDataSource</env-entry-name>
<env-entry-value>!com.jnetdirect.jsql.JSQLDriver!jdbc:JSQLConnect://hostname:1433</env-entry-value>
<env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>

also tried this from the "database expert" menu in crystal reports:
tried to give the connection string for the ODBC source as
"river={com.jnetdirect.jsql.JSQLDriver};Server={jdbc:JSQLConnect://hostname:1433};Datasource={DataSourceName}"
this gives me an ODBC Driver Manager error:
"Data source name not foundand no default driver specified"
