Crystal Report + Web Services Security Help!

Hello all,
I am trying to design a Crystal Report (using CR XI 2 and/or CR 2008) and using a web service as a data source. I've developed the web service in .NET and have control over the IIS directory it is hosted on. I've set the authentication for the folder with "Anonymous Access" turned off and Integrated Windows Authentication.
I'd like Crystal to pass the current user id (NT Id) over to the web service when the report is created. My web service will take the user id and return only the data that the user is allowed to view (security is all in the web service).
The problem I am having is after setting up my connection in Crystal Designer, when I click preview, I am getting an unauthorized (401) error.
It seems that CR isn't passing any type of user credentials to IIS. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this so I can test this in the designer?

Nope, nothing yet. The problem seems to be that Crystal doesn't currently allow SSO or the SSO credentials to be passed through to IIS. Therefore, IIS never gets any security tokens for validation. Maybe you can do this with an SDK? I don't know.
The only half solutions I can think of are:
1. Allowing "Anonymous Access" authentication to your web service on IIS. The downside is that the user token doesn't get passed through, so if you are looking to use the current user security context, you're outta luck. You'll get the impersonated IIS account instead.
2. Hosting your crystal report file behind IIS in your vritual directory. I think this works since by the time you get to the report, it has already been authenticated via IIS. However, you don't get the luxury of the BOE servers.
So sadly, no answer yet. I've decided to just code everything into my stored procedures as I am short on time. It seems odd that CR doesn't seem to support this yet, but who knows what the future holds

I am brand new to Crystal Reports. I am actually only using a demo version to see if it can do what i want it to. I have a web based database software that i am using. The reporting functionality with this software is very limited. I wanted to "connect" to the data and generate my own reports in Crystal. The software company obviously does not want to help because then they won't get our money for creating custom reports. I am not really sure what I am doing. I get the the part where i entered service, port etc and don't know what to do from there.

SOAP Messaging Using Crystal Reports Web Services To Return Report in PDF or Excel Format

All,
I am trying to use SOAP messaging to fetch a Crystal Report through a Managed repository and getting back either a PDF or Excel file. For some reason, any reference to web services on this site I cannot access. Like thread, "Using Web Services on the Crystal Report Server XI to return reports". Can anyone point in a direction to Web Service Calls API documentation or does this not exist ?????? I would hope this product has this capability.

XI Release 2 Service Pack 2 introduced the Business Process BI Web Services, that allow you to retrieve reports using SOAP messaging.

Visual Admin: error on loading service Web Services Security ? HELP

I wanted to consume a webservice to a remote R3 ECC 5 webservice with Visual Composer.
I added a web service client for VComposer using visual admin as:
Cluster->services->webServicesSecurity->
SecurityConfiguration->WebServiceClients->DynamicWSProxies->New
Added the remote host to R3 ECC5
<b>http://<host>:8000/inspection.wsil</b>
I keyed in the SID, client and language as per /people/community.user/blog/2007/04/04/consuming-webservice-in-visual-composer-1 .
I changed the security authentication to Basic and keyed in right user and password, saved the data.
It worked fine.
After I changed few values for SID, user, password on this properties, it gave me ERROR on loading service Web Services Security.
Can you please help to reset and put back the old config.

Financial Reporting Web service Out of Memory (11.1.2.2.300)

Financial Reporting web services runs out of memory. The JVM settings are currently set to 2048. The OS is windows 2008 64 bit.
We have made the the following settings but it still does not help. The service would stay up for about 5 to 6 hours and then would go out of memory. We also see that there is a continuous activity in Financial reporting logs even when there are no users using the system.
- Navigate to the following Windows Registry key on the server hosting the Financial Reporting web application component:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hyperion Solutions\FinancialReporting0\HyS9FRReports
- Export the above mentioned Windows Registry key for backup purposes,
- Create a new "String Value" entry with following name and value:
Name:JVMOptionY
Value:-XXtlasize:min=4k,preferred=64k
With Y being equal to (current value of JVMOptionCount) + 1
- Create a new "String Value" entry with following name and value:
Name:JVMOptionZ
Value:-XXlargeObjectLimit:4k
With Z being equal to (current value of JVMOptionCount) + 2
- Increase the value of the JVMOptionCount parameter by 2
- Restart the Financial Reporting web application component for the changes to be taken into account.

How to make my Portal Web Service SECURED?

Hi Experts,
I created one portal Service and exposed it as Portal Web Service.
Everything is working fine, as i deployed my Portal Web Service on to the SAP J2EE Engine ie SAP Server.
I m able to access functions of Web Service from my StandAlone Java Application.
but the problem is my Web Service is not SECURED.
How can i make my Portal Web Service SECURED?
Please help me out.
Help will be appreciated and rewarded!!!!!

12002 The Reporting Web Service is not working.

I have WSUS on Windows Server 2012 std. with Internal Database. Today I've installed 7 updates from patch tuesday and after restart I've got
error 12002 The Reporting Web Service is not working
I can see now that updatet clients can not report their status anymore :(
What's up ? Any suggestion ?

I would start by verifying that the /ReportingWebService resource is properly configured in IIS.
Correct configurations can be found in the WSUS Technical Reference Guide: IIS
Settings for WSUS 3.0 SP2 Web Services.
Also,Under ReportingWebService
Made sure all were set to disabled except for Anonymous Authentication
Anonymous Authentication Enabled
ASP .NET Impersonation Disabled
Basic Authentication Disabled
Forms Authentication Disabled
Windows Authentication Disabled

Microsoft Reporting Web Service

I am trying to call the new Microsoft Reporting web service from
weblogic 8.1sp2. I've run the clientgen utility against the microsoft
reporting server's wsdl.
Using the generated stup classes, I keep getting an error about a
snapshotID parameter, which is not a parameter passed in the stub API.
I've attached the wsdl, java program and the soap xml with the error in
it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a little late, I know. but I just spent the day
struggling with this very issue. Hopefully this can help someone
else in the future. Here's my solution...
on MX:Operation -- result="fillXML()"

...do what you need with your xml...
I use an XMLList node of the result as the source property
for an XMLListCollection bound to a datagrid. Let me know if you
need more help to get it working. It works like a charm now that I
figured that out. I don't know if it's a slimy hack, or not, but it
gets the job done.

Web Services Security Problem

hi all,
I am publishling the BC4J Component(Application module) as a webservice. The particular web service method will be as follows. The method is returning the element object.

I am securing the web service by the instructions which are given in the following link

Then i am creating the proxy client. when i run the proxy client it gives me the following exception

Hello,
When you are using WS-Security you need to secure the client too. So in your case the client is the ADF Data Control.

In RWB, when i click on Integration Engine(in component monitoring) i get a yellow triangle next to it instead of green. Result of self test says that

"Communication error Proxy calls are not permitted on sender or receiver side on the IS (client)".

Hi,
Check if you have selected any security level for the WebService or may be it is across the firewall. Probably you need to install the related certificates and have to configure the SSL layer.

You need to setup SSL layer for HTTPS endpoint.
Possible HTTP security levels are (in ascending order):
HTTP without SSL
HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS), but without client authentication
HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS) and with client authentication
Use transaction STRUST to set up an SAP Web AS ABAP engine as HTTPS server. If not already done, you have to import a certificate generated by a trusted CA identifying the SAP Web AS. In addition, you have to enable the HTTPS port in the ICM (Internet Communication Manager).

Hi Experts,
                       Before configuring the scenario, i went to RWB to check whether the comopnents are in active mode or not.
                              Integration Engine XID
                              Business Process Engine XID
                              Mapping Runtime XID
                              Adapter Engine XID
                              Integration Engines
                      All components are in Green mode Except Integration Engine, The Integration is in yellow mode
                       and shows the following details.
                     Details for 'Is Web service security available?'
                       Web Service Security not configured on this component.

                  1, While sending idoc from sapR/3 to PI , in r/3 sm58 shows the foll error:
"No service for system SAPQA,client 200 in integration directory"*
                           Even the Bussiness sytem pointing R/3.
From your initial post, it appears that you are using XID system and from above error, I believe you are trying to send the IDoc from QA system. R3 dev will communicate to PI dev, so verify the partner profile and ports in your IDoc Header settings.
                     2, When i execute the tcode sm58 in PI   it shows the following error:
                               "Syntax error in program SAPLSXI_AC_CACHE _REFERESH"
I am kinda confused how come sm58 tcode can show an error for this program, as sm58 is for checking the transactional RFCs and SAPLSXI_AC_CACHE_REFERESH is for XI Cache refresh for Alert Category. Might be some one else can explain this.
                     3, WHEN I EXECUTE THE tcode SXI_CACHE
                                         Under the *STATUS OF RUNTIME CACHE
                                                       Unable to refresh cache contents
                                                       Error during last attempt toreferesh cache
                                                         (red colour triangle leading above both)

                    4, Still there is no messages in Message monitoring.
Obviously because of error # 1, you are unable to send IDocs, how come you expect messages to reach PI ... strange, isn't it

Java Web Services Security with 10.1.2.1

I have developed a Java Web Service with J Developer 10.1.2.1 which was deployed onto Oracle 10.1.2.1 application server. Now I have to implement Security for this Web Service (similar to ws-security etc.,), how I can achieve Security with 10.1.2.1?
J Developer 10.1.3.1 seems to have the feature to implement Web Service Security, but a Java Web Service developed using J Developer 10 .1.3.1 with security enabled cannot be deployed onto Oracle 10.1.2.1 application server.
Please help as how I can implement Java Web Service Security with 10.1.2.1?

You can use Oracle Web Services Manager to virtualize the end point and still implement WS-Security.

First Page blank -Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 1 install issues

Hi,
After installation of Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 1 - Redist Install on Web server. First page of all the reports are blank .But when next page is clicked next page displays information ,then previous page the report displayed.
On loading the first page of the report is blank.
The report is fine in Crystal reports
After navigating to the second page - the data on the second page appears with no issues -
Then Navigate back to the first page then the first page data appears.

Just to clarify why this needed to be done. The CR msm and msi files install the correct files into a bin directory. The bin directory is specific to the version of Crystal Reports. Also, the viewer files are installed into the default web site aspnet_client folder. Thus if an application is installed into a custom website, you will have issues, such as red X-es instead of images, errors, failure to load report, etc. For more documentation on this issue see these articles:

Configure Web Services Security in PI 7.1

Hi,
I'm getting an error message when using the XI adapter to send encrypted data. I am using SAP PI 7.1 EHP1 SP3.
*Communication error Proxy calls are not permitted on sender or receiver side on the IS (client)
Error during message security handling in outbound channel: Security profile 'Sign and Encrypt Message' *
According to my research I need to get my basis team to configure Web Services Security. I've found the Netweaver 04 configuration guide but I don't think this is relevant. The following help has information on web services security but little or no information.
