Crystal Reports 11.5 ActiveX control to use to execute a report

Hi.  I need to execute a crystal report from a 4GL tool named LANSA.  I just need to know what ActiveX I should use to execute a report based on its file name (e.g. filename.rpt).  Thanks in advance.

Hmm. I don't know how these things appear in LANSA. But maybe relating it to VB may help. In VB, the craxdrt.dll is seen as:
Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer Runtime Library 11.5
The registry key (not sure if htis will be of any help...) craxdrt.dll of version 11.5 is under:
HKLM\software\classes\CLSID\{0BC59388-6740-4D7E-B7D9-B5F20EEABDCD}inprocserver32
Another thing to try is code along the lines of:
Create the CR Object loCr = CREATEOBJECT("CrystalRuntime.Application";)
The above is for Foxpro, but it may give you an idea.
In C++ the code is something like this:
#import "c:\program files\business objects\common\3.5\bin\craxdrt.dll"; no_namespace
One other thing. In a "water  cooler" type of discussion, someone mentioned that LANSA is an OEM partner. Perhaps contacting them directly may also help.
Oh, and all of the above assumes that craxdrt.dll is actually insalled... Check in c:\program files\business objects\common\3.5\bin\ to make sure it is there. If it is, re-registering it may be a good idea too.

The ActiveXViewer is not downloadable from our SAP site. The file is hosted on your web server, and also installed on the system where you have Crystal Reports XI installed.
Look here, C:Program FilesBusiness ObjectsCommon3.0crystalreportviewers11ActiveXControls for ActiveXViewer.cab. Extract the contents and right click crviewer.inf, then select Install.

  • No longer able to insert ActiveX controls or use existing ActiveX controls in Word documents

    Using Word 2010 32bit on Windows 7.1 64bit OS.
I have a document with several ActiveX controls that I use as a template to generate new documents.  This morning I installed the monthly roll-out of Windows/MS Office updates and then rebooted.  After rebooting, when I opened my Word document,
I could not use the controls.
As far as I can tell, the controls are not disabled in security but are actually not recognized.  If I go into Developer Mode and open the Properties from the context menu on one of the ActiveX controls, the Properties dialog opens but shows properties
for the main document and not for the control.  If I try to drop a new ActiveX control in a blank document, I get the following message from Microsoft Word: "The program used to create this object is Forms.  That program is either not installed
on your computer or it is not responding.  To edit this object, install Forms or ensure that any dialog boxes in Forms are closed."  I have not been able to find any information on a program called "Forms".  Is this some component
of Word that has been corrupted?
I don't think there is any problem with the actual document because I can still open and use it on another machine running Word 2010 (where the latest updates have not been installed).

Among the monthly updates for March 2015 is a series of updates that should correct the problem. Use Windows Update to get them.

The reason of that is we want to control the developers. Currently, developers is using APPS account, and they can mess up database instance. So the idea is we will create personal account for each developer, then we can track back if something happens in database. Of course, developer can only access DEV instance only.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Report Generation and ActiveX control of MSWord 97

I had posted this problem sometime ago with no response, but I had a chance to look at it again. I wanted to try some examples using MS Word instead of MS Excel. Well I would always get the attached error. It looks like LabVIEW cannot find MS Word. I found out why, I just need to know how to fix it..
I found that the Word._Application (Automation_Refnum) is more then likely using the Microsoft Word 8.0 Object Library Version 8.0 that is installed with Labview. the Problem is I have Word 97 which I believe is version 5.0. Now for Excel both the Microsoft Excel 5.0 Object Library Version 1.0 and Microsoft Excel 8.0 Object Library Version 1.2 appear in the Select Object from Type Library Drop down. It there a Word Object Library missing?
I have LabVIEW running on a WinXP Pro machine with MS Office 97 SR2 installed.. I really wish my company would upgrade to MS Office XP or 2003 but I don't see that happening.
is there anyway to get LV8 to recognize Word 97? I have reinstalled Office and the Toolkit a couple times with no luck. I also had the same problem with LV 7.1.1
    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Hi Jeff,
The issue you are seeing is usually caused by Office not being installed properly. It would be good if you could do a repair on your Word install, make sure all office applications are closed, and turn off all Anti-virus software and registry protectors (i.e Ad-Aware and Spybot).
Go to add/remove programs and find the office install and choose repair, choose to repair word and letthat run, once that is done restart the computer.
Open LabVIEW and place down an ActiveX reference and then right-click the refnum to select the ActiveX class. Scroll through the list to find the Word entry that you need.
If this does not work, you will need to look at the msdn website www.msdn.com to see if this is a known issue with Word 97, and if MS have a way of registering the server. Or find how to register an ActiveX server and then register your Word install to the COM and DCOM in WIndows , as this is where LabVIEW picks up the Servers it has access to.

    Hello Vitor,
Maybe you must a specify your question. Almoust everybody on the forum wants to help you, but you must ask the right (not an open) question....
I usally use the ordinary (VB/microsoft) activex controls. If you want to use the listtree you must install sp3 from Windows xp because SP2 don't works with the listtree and sbo.

  • How to find references to ActiveX control

Is there a way to determine where an activex control is used within a labview project?  I have a moderately large project that previously used an adhoc combination of XML parsers, including the ActiveX XML parser from Microsoft (MSXML).  I am trying to replace all instances of MSXML with either the builtin labview XML VI's or calls to our own DLL that make more complicated sequences of calls to the Xerces/Xalan XML libraries.  I want to make sure I replaced all references to the MSXML parser without having to inspect all the VI's in the project.  I was hoping that I could right click on an "Open Automation" function block and select the "Find All Instances" option, but apparently this is not availible as it is for a VI I created.  Also, I was hoping that if I went to the Project Explorer, it would show that the msxml.dll file was listed as a dependency where I could do a "Find Callers" like an ordinary dll referenced through a "Call Library Function Node".  Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can automate this search?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The "Find all Instances" is only available for VIs that you create, but you can still search for the Automation Open function in your project. Just open your project and open up a VI. Then select Edit -> Find and Replace. In this dialog you can search for specific functions across the entire project.

  • Trouble to call ActiveX control

Manufacture provides an ActiveX control to use in LabVIEW. One function "OpenConnection (ServerName: PChar; out Result: OleVariant) requires a Pascal PChar type; when accessed from LabVIEW, it is converted to String type. I tried to wire a normal LabVIEW string, it returned an error saying the ActiveX Server is not installed or registered. I manually registered the server, but it still returns the same error.
I tried to convert the LabVIEW string to a Pascal type, like shown in the picture (put the string length in the beginning and a NULL in the end to make it a null-terminated string), still the same error. My guess is that the problem still lies in the string, it is not compatible with the Pascal type. But how can I convert the string in this case?

The first call to "OpenConnection" returns '-2' (no LabVIEW error), which means 'the ActiveX server' is not installed or registered. Then at closing, it returns a LabVIEW error saying "Catastrophic Failure", which I think is because the connection was never established in the first place.
So I still think it is the LabVIEW string is not compatible with the Pascal string, when I feed the name of the ActiveX server, although it looks to the right name, it is converted to a different pascal string. Then the program cannot find the proper server.
I don't think anything can be done from LabVIEW to fix it in this case.

  • How to use Value Variable in Report Painter Column defined as Formula

    Hi Gurus,
In report painter, how can I add one field (exchange rate) in selection screen, so that user can provide the exchange rate to be used, then execute the report, the exchange rate will used to multiple local currency amount.
The reason for this is we want use provided exchange rate to convert the amount from once currency to the other currency.
Alternatively I am studying the functionality of "Value Variable" and found that I can perform the task from this. I have created the value variable but when I am using the variable in Report Painter columns as "&ZVALVAR", system is giving me error. I read the help and it states that use the variable with "&" and do it as it is mentioned.
Can anybody suggest what I need to do to make it workable.
    Thanks

I did try using the presentation variable, but that does not work too. I am setting session variable in the dashboard prompt (select 'request variable'). When I use presentation variable, it hard codes the value of the variable name.
    sql is
    select date from work_order where facility = @{p_facility}
    the physical log sql is
select date from work_order where facility = 'p_facility'

  • REP-770 Error while executing the report.

    Hi,
I am trying to run a report in Application Server 10g. I am executing this report from a form.
When I try to run the report using the 'rdf', I get the error
"Terminated with error: <br>REP-770: There exist uncompiled program unit(s). REP-1247: Report contains uncompiled PL/SQL."
But if I run the report as 'rep' then the report works fine. Now after this if I run the report as 'rdf', it works fine again.
Just to summarise - The problem occurs if I first try to run the report as rdf. But the problem disappears if I run the report as rep first before running it as rdf.
Could someone help me solve this issue.
    Thanks
    Aruna

    Hi Aruna,
I can see 2 bugs logged on Reports 9.0.4.1 (that means 10g patch 1) that report a similar problem:
BUG 4050488 - JSP REPORTS CONTAINING REF CURSOR ASKS FOR COMPILATION EVERYTIME WITH WEB LAOUT
    and
BUG 4040844 - REF CURSOR QUERY REP-737 ORA-1247 RUNNING ON LINUX
Another bug reported on 10g has been fixed in upcoming Reports version 10.1.2:
BUG 3324576 - SRW.APPLY_DEFINITION IN PGM UNIT FAILS USING .REP FILE WITH REP-1457 ERROR
They are published bugs. See if you are hitting the same issue. Though I don't think that these bugs reported REP-1247 only the FIRST time you run the report.
Secondly, when I said "compile on the same platform on which you are going to run", I meant this - if you are going to run the report on OracleAS installed on Win 2000, you must compile the report in Reports Builder on Win 2000. Similarly, if you are going to run the report on OracleAS installed on Linux, you must compile the report in Reports Builder on Linux, before running it.

Check whether you have proper authorization to run the report in  Portal. Reports published in the Portal can have its own authorization maintenance, one which is different from roles maintained in the SAP.

When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
"A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
How can this error message be resolved?
    Resolution
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.

  • How do I use the Oracle Developer Reporting Control in Visual Basic 6.0?

I was wondering how to use the Oracle Developer Reporting Control componant in Visual Basic 6.0 to generate reports in Oracle Reports? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Rohit,
Would like to ask you some questions about the oracle report with Visual Basic.
    1. I have a report built in oracle report. Currently there is a Visual Basic program want to pass some parameter to this report. Can Visual Basic program pass the parameter to this oracel report?
    2. Based on yr answer, do i have to installed the oracle report? or just copy and register the Rwsxa60.ocx (i'm using oracle report 6i) in the PC? So can i use this activeX control.
    3. Is this activeX control similar to Crystal report object which can found in VB?
    4. Is there an example/guide on how the Visual Basic pass the parameter to oracel form?
Your answer will be much appreciated.
