Crystal Reports 2008 Charting Component

When attempting to create a new report using the bar chart type, I receive the following error from the report wizard:
Crystal Reports Charting Component sscsdk80.dll could not be found
Please re-run the installation to fix this problem.
I have re-run the installation, selecting additional features of custom charting, and mapping and it did not solve the problem. I have tried to manually register sscsdk80.dll with regsvr32 and that fails:
Load Library Failed. The specified module could not be found. Which must refer to a dependency (?) of that .dll since sscsdk80.dll is obviously present.
I have tried copying sscsdk80.dll to the windows\system32 directory and manually registering with regsvr32 and that fails as well.
Any help would be appreciated. Trying to avoid un-installing and re-installing the entire Crystal Reports 2008 application.

We had 2 users with this error this week, both on CR2008 SP2.
The file is located here, assuming BO/Crystal is installed to the default location: C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86
I copied the .dll file to this location: C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\4.0\bin
That stopped the error coming up and the graphs are displaying correctly. Had a similar error with the keydecoder.dll which I resolved by doing the above. Re-installing SP2 fixed the keydecoder.dll error for a while but then it started re-occuring and I tried the above fix, and the error hasn't come back.
We're on XP SP3.

  • Crystal Report 2008 Charting!

    Hi,
    I am using Crystal Report 2008 with VS2005. How to normalize the data ? for ex.
    I have range of Values 7000 to 9000 for Parameter 1, Values 3000 to 45000 Parameter 2 and Values 30 to 150 Parameter 3
    when I plot the graw it showing single line only, I want to see the variation for alll three parameters. Anyones help is appreciated !!
    Thanks
    Ramki

    I have a couple of suggestions- either there is a registry entry or configuration file that I can modify to point the temp file location to a drive/folder of my choice;   or the Report Document Close() / Dispose() methods should get rid of them.  Neither works right now.  Any thoughts folks ?

  • Help Needed in Crystal Reports 2008 Charting - XY Scatter

    Hi,
    I need to create a XY Scatter plot using CRYSTAL 2008.i have to create 7 graphs of same XY Scatter plots in one single report.the 7 graphs i said because i have a Cost category object which will have 7 categories.so for each category i have to show one XY Scatter plot.
    However the data only changes between  each category. i have to use the same objects for all the 7 plotters.
    there will be a 1 dimension object and two measure objects in this.
    So how to develop the report for this requirement?
    Urgent help is needed.

    hi Kishore,
    if you Insert another Group on Category, and then move your chart into the Category Group Header, does that solve the issue?

  • Crystal Report 2008 Area Chart Data Label Problem

    Stacked Area Chart (Layer Cake) Issues:
    We would like to use a Crystal Report (2008) Stacked Area Layer Cake chart to show the workload RPD's (Sum of Resources Per Day = Y value axis) and Data_Date of the study (M,Month of study date = X value axis, using fiscal year type cycle Oct - Sept).
    Each Stacked Area represents the workload RPD's for a single project, or group of projects.
    When showing labels or series information the chart becomes overloaded and not visible to read because there is over 400 data points.
    Is there a way to break this dataset down so that values and/or labels are visible, using the crystal report options available? To suppress multiple layers and show a single label per layer?
    We tried using the Color Highlight to group and display them by group and condition. The labels and series data points are still over crowded.
    We also need to overlay the chart with the Average FC Totals from an additional Crosstab report.  Is there a way to overlay this over the 1st layer of the report?

  • Crystal Reports 2008 parameter panel

    Hello,
    I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 stand-alone application to design reports. I'm wondering is there a possibility to change information display on parameter panel?
    The problem is that I've created a parameter with option "prompt with description only" set to true. This parameter has value and description. When it's prompting for parameter everything goes fine, it prompts with description only, but in parameter panel it's only values (not descriptions) displayed. This is confusing for report users as the value is key (int type) and description is name (string that actually says something to user).
    Maybe there is something to be set in Crystal Reports Viewer component properties?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Gemi,
    I recommend to post this query to the [Crystal Reports Design|SAP Crystal Reports; forum.
    This forum is dedicated to topics related to the creation and design of Crystal Report documents. This includes topics such as database connectivity, parameters and parameter prompting, report formulas, record selection formulas, charting, sorting, grouping, totaling, printing, and exporting but also installation and registering.
    It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
    Also, all Crystal Reports Design queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 and Dynamic Images

    Hello,
    I have a windows .net application that uses a listing of items in a grid.  The user selects an item then clicks the print button and that brings up a report viewer form and passes the photograph location in a parameter to the report document being loaded.
    The first time that this report is printed, the image for the selected item is printed correctly.  The next time the report is printed, the default image used to create the graphic object on the report is printed.
    In addition if a user double clicks on the listing of items, a detail form is displayed.  When the same report is printed from this screen, the default image used to create the graphic object on the report is printed.
    This is happening in multiple .net windows applications.
    Can anyone please give me an idea as to what may be causing this.
    I am using Crystal Reports 2008 with Service Pack 2 installed.

    This is the exact same form being opened and that displays correctly from the listing screen.

  • ASP Crystal Report 2008 (12) Oracle 9 and Visual Basic!

    Hi All,
    I'm mainting an old application and I need to simulate the same client environment in my machine.
    I have a VB application (with COM+ server components) that's creates a report object with parameters. But the only thing that this application does it's call an ASP page that contains all the logic to call a .rpt file, connect to Oracle 9i and then show the crystal report inside a MS webbrowser component (activeX) in the VB form.
    I already setup the IIS, and the site there, I put all the .rpt files in the site and if you try to access without calling from VB you can run the asp pages, but the reports still doesn't appears.
    These ASP pages should connect to Oracle and then show the rpt file, but I'm facing the following error:
    The url that's the application creates is for example this: http://localhost/application1/createreport.asp?sSessionId=2&ReportName=TransactionsProcessed.rpt&parameter1&parameter2... etc etc...
    Script Error Number: -21471922153
    File could not be opened because the library "P2sora7.dll" cannot be found.
    User Error Text: An error has ocurred in CreateReport.asp while logging onto the Oracle database server. Please try again.
    I already check the database connection and it is working fine using ODBC, and the application works fine with the database.
    The file p2sora.dll is in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32, I already copied from another machine, and I have installed Crystal Report 2008 (12) in my server machine with Windows 2003 server, that's the application and web server where report should be run. I know that the old application was executed with Crystal 7, but I cannot found this version to buy.

  • Font style issue with exporting report in Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi,
    I got stuck on the below issue for a while. Please can anyone help on this?
    When I designed and executed a report in Crystal Reports 2008 on my local PC, the font style and size used in charts were exactly what I was expecting.
    However, after I exported the report to our BusinessObjects CMC and displayed it in InfoView, the font style and size in charts looked quite different from what they were in CrystalReports.
    Any ideas of how to fix this issue?
    Thanks!
    BAI

    Hi Nanda Kishore,
    This is because you do not have proper rights on Business View Manager.  Whenever you create a dynamic parameter in crystal and try to save the report on BO, it creates a Business view automatically.  Now in your case, it is unable to create a business view due to insufficient rights.
    Go in Business View Manager u2013 Repository exploreru2014You will find Dynamic Cascading Prompts folderu2014Right click on that and go in rights and add your user information and give full rights.
    Also make sure that your BO and CR designer on same version and patch level.
    Thanks,

  • Crystal Reports Pie Chart showing Sum 100% in Legend.  How to remove?

    I have a Pie chart which displays correctly but in the Legend is displayed the values with the correct percentages AND  the Sum showing 100%.
    I need to either remove the Sum line or be able to change the text from the report since I have to produce the report in 4 languages and the Sum always shows up in the language of the server.
    the legend looks something like;
    value1  25%
    value2  25%
    value3  75%
    Sum     100%   <------  this line must go or be changed  (e.g. in Italian as Totale)
    Running a server for each language is not an option
    There are a variable number of values so I cannot overlay a rectangle on a fixed position.  (awfull solution)
    Is there any way I can simply turn off the Summ (not the whole legend which is needed)?
    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I am using Crystal Reports 2008
    Best Regards
    Chris Ryder

    Well  Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
    The client is very specific about the look and feel so I cannot change to not using a legend.  However,  the discussions serves to confirm that it is NOT possible which is actually just as useful.
    In Conclusion
    To restate the problem  the client has a report which can be displayed in one of four languages by choice from the end user.  The report contains a pie chart which displays the various segment names and percentages as a legend.  At the bottom of this legend appears automaticaly the word Summ in the langauge of the the 'Server Locale' (in our case german Summe) and the 100% value.
    I wished to know if it was possible to either change the language of this word (without changing the server as I do not have access) or to remove it altogether.
    The answer is NO it is not possible to remove only this word or to change it in anyway.
    Our final workaround is;
    we hide the Legend on the graph and build it as a seperate entity next to the graph.  Not ideal as everything is then done twice and we have an indirect link between the segment colours and the legend colours which is not apparent directly in the report.  But at least the client has signed off on the report.
    once again thank you for taking the time to think about the problem.

  • Error exporting to PDF from Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi,
    We are getting following error while exporting Crystal report to the PDF and preview in IE:

    This report having chart object as subreport, however export to Excel works fine and we could see chart fine in Excel. Any other reports without charts are exporting fine to the PDF format only this one having issue.
    Report developed with Crystal Reports 2008/SP2, server we are running this report having CRRuntime_12_0.msm merge file installed successfully. We can't install 12_2 or 12_3 downloaded from your site because of errors we are getting while setup with these merge files somehow.

    Actually, the question boils down to; does the framework support the fonts?
    I believe that my question re. this working in the designer was valid. The designer does not use the framework, so if it works there, it is either a framework issue or a runtime print engine issue.
    I believe if you use the code below, it will list fonts available to the framework:
    foreach(FontFamily ff in FontFamily.Families)
    System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(ff.Name);

  • Using Crystal Reports 2008 standalone to edit CR basic reports?

    Can I use a stand-alone Crystal Reports 2008 to edit reports created with Crystal reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008?
    On this project I am working with other developers who don't want to install the full CR 2008 and I really need to to use full CR 2008 to be able to edit a few things in reports I can't do with CR basic in Visual Studio (like changing colors for bars in charts which you can't edit in VS).
    I also don't want to use the CR 2008 runtime for running the application, just the runtime which comes with VS 2008.
    Is it safe to edit a report in CR 2008 and then use it within Visual Studio (assuming I don't add any CR 2008 specific functions)?
    I made a test and installed CR 2008 but without installing the .NET options (however only 1.1 and 2.0 was listed I guess I need to install SP0 to get VS 2008 support anyway). I could change colors for bars etc and save it and open it again in VS 2008. VS complained about
    The full CR designer is also much better to work with so if I can use full CR 2008 without affecting my VS application that would be nice (I guess installing the .NET components would force the use of CR 2008 runtime assemblies).
    Also another question:
    When you use datasets as datasource and use the preview in VS it will use some fake data. But in CR 2008 stand-alone you don't get any data at all. Is there a way to do the same with full CR?

    Hi Magnus,
    You can use CR 2008 to edit reports but there are warnings. .NET version of CR is 10.5, based on the CR version 10 functionality. CR 2008 has much more functionality so as long as you don't add any features of CR 2008 to the reports then it should work. But it is recommended that you use the same version for functionality and 100% compatability.
    Yes you do need SP0 installed.
    You should also upgrade to CR 2008 Developer then you can use the full SDK functionality within .NET and be able to support all the latest OS platforms.
    Please post a separate question for your database question. Use one posting for each question, if not the posts tend to get messy.
    Thank you

  • Crystal Reports 2008 - Report Load error - Memory Leak Error?

    Hello
    <br>
    We have a problem with Crystal Reports 2008 with .NET 2.0.
    <br>
    CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=12.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304

    The problem is that during high amount of report producing, errors in eventlog pops up and the production of reports using <br>
    Crystal Reports stops.
    <br>
    Below are examples of the three most common event logs.
    <br>
    We have tried to implement a cleanup method both as a destructor (with a global ReportDocument rdoc variable) and using direct call to cleanUpDoc() method when finished with loading doc:
    <br>

    Please help with solving this problem.
    Is the above advisable to do?
    Should the document be loaded in another way?
    Is it a memory leak?

    Hi;
    First, ensure you have the latest service pack / hot fix for your version of Crystal Reports, and that the client has the same updates as well. Fix Pack 2.4 is the current latest, and can be downloaded from our downloads section.
    One of the errors is the Background Processing error, so have a look at the following article:

  • Customize Legend in Crystal report 2008

    How do I customize the Legend in crystal report 2008. I want to change the legend text in print preview mode but I am not able to open the chart in preview mode as it is asking for a XML path but I am not using any XML file . Is there any other way to change the legend text ?
    Thanks in advance
    Sakshi

    Not clear what you are doing? Is this an application you wrote?
    Legend text is what you defined in the Group.
    Change the Group header then you have your change.
    Thank you

  • JRC Deployment Guide for Crystal Reports 2008

    I just downloaded a trial version of Crystal Reports 2008 & was testing out the integration of this component into our Java web based application.
    I found the "Crystal Reports XI Release 2 - Java Reporting Component Deployment Guide" PDF file, but I was wondering if there was a more recent version of this guide for Crystal Reports 2008.  Maybe I'm a bit confused regarding the versions but this guide currently references JARs in a folder under ...\3.5\java\lib.  However, when I looked in the same section of Crystal 2008, I noticed it was \4.0\java\lib & the JARs are different.
    Is there a new JRC Depolyment Guide for Crystal Reports 2008?...If not, is there any documentation I can use to map between the 3.5 libraries and the 4.0 libraries?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    There is no separate JRC has been launched for the CR 2008.
    But SAP has launched the Crystal Reports 4 Eclipse 2.0 in which CR 2008 has been integraqted with backword compatibility.
    To know more please check following link:

  • Crystal Reports 2008 fails when called from e Web Service under 64bit OS

    I have discovered that Crystal Reports 2008 doesn't work when called from a Web Service running under 64bit Windows platforms (in my case Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP 64bit); practically no object is instantiated. I've tried several solutions without success.
    Before creating a wrapper component to use under COM+, is there anybody who has a better and cheaper solution than creating another component to wrap CR 2008 ?

    Hi Sergio,
    Before I mark this post as assumed answered I would just like to say and re-iterate that at this time there is no one answer and we fully understand your concerns. As you know in CR 6.0 it came in 16 and 32 bit versions because at the time 32 bit was relatively new but 16 bit was the norm. This is also true for 32 to 64 bit, 32 is the norm and 64 bit is relatively new. We know and are well aware 64 bit is the future and we are working as quickly as we can to move in that direction. Because of the complexity of the Product it's not simply a matter of re-compiling all of our dll's in 64 bit format. The core of our data connectivity with our database drivers which are dependant on third party clients must also need to support 64 bit modes. This as well as Printer drivers also need to be 64 compatable, there are a multitude of dependencies that we rely on that must add 64 bit support. As a programmer you are well aware of the issues around Thunking back and forth between 32 to 64 bits, it can cause delays and potentially loss of data which is a whole other issue. Not to mention also that we would have to ship both versions potentially doubling the size of the distribution packages or doubling the size of the dll's to have the ability to work in both modes. Relatively speaking of course, it would not be double the size but the variables would need to be able to allocate 32 or 64 memory blocks.
    The other option is to produce 2 separate versions, this alone is a massive project. Any issue would need to be fixed in separate code streams.
    So I'm sure you can see it's not simply a matter of saying yes we support 64 bit. It's a massive project that is going to take time to do and we have to wait for the third party drivers to commit also.
    Visual Studio .NET 2005 and 2008 is the only option if you want true 64 bit but you will be limited on what DB's you can support and export formats you can export to. They are the only drivers we did convert to 64 bit.
    Thank you for your understanding
    Don
