Crystal Runtime hangs - no errors given

We have a multi-threaded service which runs ok in our development and production environments, but not in our DR site.
The symptoms are that the Crystal Engine (V10.2.3600.0) hangs when carrying out the PrintToPrinter() method to network printers,  and then gives an error when other threads call the method ("The request could not be submitted for background processing" or "Load report failed. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80000200): Print engine not opened. "
The network to the DR Site is slower, but this should not be an issue.
I saw another post with a similar issue - but the resolution was not in the post.
Any Ideas?

I moved your query to the  .NET - SAP Crystal Reports forum.
I only have suggestions:
Ccompare the environments. Version of all runtimes (CR and non CR) - use [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip].
Use [Peocess Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] to track what is going on as files are loaded and registries accessed.
Read the article [Troubleshooting the error; Load Report Failed|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/d02f7cd3-f18b-2d10-55ad-dab2200f68fc].

  • Crystal Runtime v 12.2.202 error

I get the following error message when I run reports using the Crystal runtime 12.2.202 version:
ERROR com.crystaldecisions.reports.formatter.formatter.lightmodel.cellmodel.FCMCellModel - FCMCellModel log: page contains com.crystaldecisions.reports.formatter.formatter.objectformatter.FormattedLineObject
The report seems to run and I can't find any "display" problems, but this message is filling my logs.  I am guessing it has something to do with a Java classpath, but I would this message does not look like a missing class error.
Any suggestions to resolve this would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ken

The exception indicates that, when the engine was trying to build the page for a report, an unexpected object was found within the page.
Does this happen with all distinct reports, or with one or two?
It just doesn't format the unknown object, so you'd likely not see the problem in the view of the document.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Crystal Report XI R2 error when opening a report

This issue may not be unique to my situation and I'm hoping there are others here who have experienced this problem and have found a solution/workaround for it.
I have a Cyrstal Report file that was created using CR version 10.0 that has been in use by our web application without any issues for a while now. However, I found out that after I upgraded the Crystal runtime on my web server to version 11.5, this particular report refused to work with a simple error message that said : "File cannot be found.".
I tried opening this same report on Crystal Report XI R2, and it does not open and throws an error message saying: "This document could not be opened".
Strangely enough, this same file opens up fine on Crystal version 10. I'm inclined to believe that the report file I'm trying to work with has some header information that Cyrstal XI does not like, because it opens and generates fine on version 10.
The option of re-creating a new report from scratch on XI R2 is the last option since its a very complex report. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Madusha,
Those errors usually indicate that the report or something in the report has become corrupted. You could try
    a) Exporting the report to RPT format in CR 10 and see if it will open
    b) Try deleting 1 section at a time in CR10 until it opens in XI or R2, keep a copy of the original report and if you are able to narrow down the cause to a specific section or object then remove it from the original in CR10 and readd it in XI or R2

  • SAP Crystal integration Add on - error message

    Hi,
I installed the add on the server and it works fine.
I installed on the workstatation and it installed without error.
When I got to run a report through the Manage Crystal Reports screen on the server, the report prints fine.
When I do the same on the workstation I get the error
Could not load File or Assembly  'crystaldecisions.windows.forms, version 12.0.0000.0,
Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304 or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
The user has rights to the folder where the crystal reports are b/c they can open them up and run them in crystal with no error. They just get this error with the add on. They have the full version of crystal so I didn't install the runtime. I did check that the CrystalDesignerPath.txt was correct.

Like other I did the install of the crystal runtime on the PC. Now the Add 2.0.0.7 on works. BUT now crystal reports 2008 full version does not.
the client must be able to get into crystal to modify reports. have to uninstall crystal integration 2.0.0.7 and runtime 12.1 and crystal reports 2008. Reinstall crystal reports 2008, and crystal integration 2.0.0.6 and runtime 12.0 and works fine.
I made a second intent with the guide SAP_CRYSTAL_InstallInstructions.pdf, including .net framework 3.5 and no works crystal reports 2008.

  • Crystal Reports 2010 shows error on 64 bit vista/7 machines

    Hello,

I search the threads before posting my problem. I saw number of threads similar to this but none of them is pointing towards solutions to my problem. Thus decided to create new one. Hi deguri,
    1. Are you going to sell the application(which embeds the crystal runtimes) to another company?
    2. Is the application intended for users within your company?
If the answer to question 1 is a 'Yes', then you need to purchase the license.
If the answer to question 2 is a 'Yes', then you do not need the license.
Take a look at a question posted in response to the blog i referred to in my previous post. That is a typical scenario where license needs to be purchased.
We are product a client/server application in VS 2010 and would like to include Crystal Reports. The rendering/runtime would be on the server component. Our package is distributed to our clients and runs on their hardware. We would be producing the reports and shipping them with the software (i.e. no embedded designer).
Am I correct in understanding that we would need only a single SAP Developer Advantage license (~$2500 USD) and that would cover redistribution to all our our clients?
    Thanks in advance!

    Yes, you are correct.

  • Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values

Our company did a PeopleTools upgrade at one of our clients recently. We upgraded them to PeopleTools 8.50.08. We had to convert all the Crystal Reports to the 2008 format using the RPT converter which is included in the Client install of PeopleTools.
The only problem now is that a lot of the Crystal processes in PeopleSoft are failing with the following error:
Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values.
I've checked the parameters which are being passed to the report and I see both parameters are filled:
    E:\HR881\BIN\CLIENT\WINX86\PSCRRUN.EXE -CTORACLE -CDHRMKPDEV -COPSDUT -CPOPRPSWD -I218609 -RP"PUP202K" -OT6 -OP"G:\PS\PSPRCS\log_output\HRMKPDEV\CRW_PUP202K_218609" -LGDUT -OF2 -ORIENTL "2000-10-01" "2002-06-30"
Database type is Oracle. HRMS version is 8.8. I can run the Query which gets the data in just fine and I can also run the report from Crystal fine. This only happens with Crystal reports which have a date field as a parameter/prompt in the report.
There's currently an SR open at Oracle, but I was hoping that someone here can help me nail this issue. I'm not too happy with the quallity of Oracle support, but that's a whole different story.

<s>Just to be sure, did you put a space after each parameter name or is it a typo over here ?
E:\HR881\BIN\CLIENT\WINX86\PSCRRUN.EXE -CT ORACLE -CD HRMKPDEV -CO PSDUT -CP OPRPSWD -I 218609 -RP "PUP202K" -OT 6 -OP "G:\PS\PSPRCS\log_output\HRMKPDEV\CRW_PUP202K_218609" -LG DUT -OF 2 -OR IENTL "2000-10-01" "2002-06-30"</s>

    sorry, it was wrong assumption.

  • Runtime Mapping Transformation Error

    Hi Experts,
I am doing a file to idoc scenario in which the sender system is MDM and the Idocs are to be received in the R/3 system.
I have generated XSD from the IDOC itself , that is MATMAS05 and used it as the source structure by importing in External Definition and the targer is of course the Idoc.
In SXMB_MONI i get the Runtime Mapping Transformation error. What can be the reason for this.I read somewhere that the XSD and the xml file that is being picked might have different structures.
But i checked and they are same.
Only the problem can be with the encoding part.
In the XML structure of the Idoc , it is UTF-8 and also after exporting it to file it is UTF-8. But after importing it in the External Definition,it becomes ISO-8859-1 and we are unable to change it.
Also, the xml file that is given from the MDM system has encoding as UTF-8.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks in Advance.
    -Shweta.

    Hi,
    1) check out imported xsd is correct , valid. Hope while importing you have used Type as "XSD" and then after importing, check out the messages tab to know this
    2) In the mapping, did you map all the madatory fields ? like some of the attributes like BEGIN? For this BEGIN attribute map with constant value. also check all the mandatory nodes/fields
    3) check the mapping in the mapping editor independently in Repository by picking the input xml from the SXMB_MONI. So that you can test the mapping
Hope this will solve the mapping problem. btw, it is prefer to have exact error posted here.

  • Seagate Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer error '80043ac4'

Website slows down when users are running reports. Users start getting errors when running any crystal report. After sometime main page itself stops loading and only static html is visible. Following is one of the errors users see:

Rebooting the Web Server temporarily fixes the issue however the error recurs again after a day or two. We are seeing this problem in both our PROD and DR server. There was no change done to either of these boxes recently.
Also at this pint IIS was crashing. Microsoft Support analyzed the crash dumps created from IIS and came up with the following:
"All the memory dumps captured showed the same DLL that was accessing corrupted memory. This same DLL would also be the one that had originally written to those addresses. The DLL was craxdrt.dll from Crystal Reports 8.0 ActiveX Designer, which was version 8.0.1.0 from 1/28/2000. This DLL should be updated to see if this issue has already been fixed. Other options are to recycle IIS more frequently and move to a new version of Crystal Reports."
Here is a detailed analysis from Microsoft Support:
The issue appears to be heap corruption. Normally these are difficult to troubleshoot, however, in this case every memory dump that I looked at had the same component involved.

Something must have changed. Were any patches or auto updates done to the OS?
CR 8.0 has been out of the support cycle for some time now.
As Microsoft suggested please log in and download the patches for CR 8.0 from:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/businessobjects-support
If that does not resolve the issue the only option will be to schedule sn IIS restart each night.

  • SAP Crystal Runtime 13 - free to use?

    Hi,
We have a few third party systems that use SAP Crystal Runtime. What we have currently is version XI.
Just wanted to find out that if its free to upgrade to 13? Not aware of any licensing agreements we have with SAP given that we don't use any of the designer, analytics, dashboard tools. It's just really Runtime
I have tried downloading the latest version from the website below and actually tried installing and did not get prompted for any licenses or registration.
SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio: Updates & Runtime Downloads

    Hi Kate,
You cannot simply update those older third party applications to the newer versions of our runtime. Only those creators of the application can do that.
Downloading and installing from the link you used will do nothing for those applications.
To get updates you need to contact the makers and ask them if they support version 13 runtime and they have to provide you with an update installer.
As for licensing, they are responsible to handle that part. If you want to have a look here's the link:

  • Crystal Reports - Report Creation Error

    Hello!
I've been working with ACT! Premium 2010 and Crystal Reports for about 2 weeks now. Friday we decided we needed to create a new database to work with, we had to scrap all old reports and start new. We created the main database on Friday and populated it on Sunday. However when trying to bring the new database into Crystal I got an error, I was not able to bring in any database information to create reports with. I followed the exact instructions our resident IT guy gave me for the previous database. Both are remote databases syncing up with the main database, we tried to import both the main database and the remote, resulting in the same error. Also the remote was created this morning about an hour before I tried to access it with Crystal. Our IT guy Team Viewered in to try to help the situation but to no avail. He mentioned that it may also be a permission error but was not able to find a solution. I checked to make sure all the files related to the database were shared and it appears they are. Also went into ACTDIAG to check and repair the database with no change in the error. Any suggestions?

Am using the OLE DB (ADO) option when creating a new connection, and using the ACT! OLE DB Provider for Reporting 2.0 under that.
    Using:
ACT! by Sage Premium 2010 Version 12.0.409.0, Hotfix 3 (Is a trial version but had no errors creating previous report)
    Crystal Reports Version 10.0.0.533
Any other information needed I will be happy to post. Thanks in advanced for any answers!

I don't know anything about Crystal Reports whatsoever, and I couldn't care less frankly. There has been an excess of postings on these forums about this product, whatever it may be.
If Crystal Reports isn't relevant to the problem why was it mentioned? In the title?
And in any case why was it posted in a forum entitled 'Reflections & Reference Objects'?
And your suggestion that it's up to me to do the research is fallacious and indeed ludicrous.
And the error message 'java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://localhost/viewer9/javaviewer/ReportViewer.jar' is entirely self-explanatory.
And it strongly appears to have something to do with the deployment of Crystal Reports.
None of which is a Reflections & Reference Objects problem, or a Java problem, or Sun's problem.

  • Crystal report 9 memory error.

we are using crystal report 9 with sybase power builder..... at some client locations we are experiencing the application crash due to memory while opening crystal reports.
    the following errors were noticed
1.the instruction at "0x77124804" referenced memory at "0x001b3e60". the memory could not be read.
2.the instruction at "0x7c911daf" referenced memory at "0x00000000". the memory could not be read.
please guide us what is the issue.. do we need any hotfix or service pack for this.
    regards

I assume you already tried to reinstall the application and I would recommend to do it one more time, but this time follow the process for so-called manual uninstall
    1. Uninstall Crystal reports 9 using add remove programs
    2. Save backup -up of the Registry
    3. Remove the following registry key (be careful with the registry file):
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports
    4. Reinstall Crystal Reports 9
As the next step I would check and disable Data Execution Prevention.
Go to: Start> Right-click My Computer" select Properties> Advanced tab > click Performance settings> Data Execution Prevention tab.
If DEP turned on for all programs, then add Crystal Reports (crw32.exe) to except list.
If DEP is not cause of problems, then I would suggest Process Monitor to locate the reason or at least try to locate it.
You can download Process Monitor utility from the following page:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
The same page will tell you how to use it. I would suggest the following steps:
    Close all unnecessary applications/processes
    1. Open Crystal Reports
    2. Start the Process Monitor, stop capturing events (Cntrl-E), clean the display (Cntrl-X), add the following filter (Cntrl-L) "Process Name is crw32.exe then include", click ok.
    3. Start capturing events (Cntrl-E)
    4. Immediately click Format menu on Crystal Reports
    5. Stop capturing events and save the log file
Now you can look at the log file to see what is going wrong. I would also advice to capture the same log on client machine to compare the sequence of events.
    Gracias...!!

    Hi Rangnath,
For running SharePoint Designer 2013, you need to install Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework or higher.
Please uninstall the Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework, and install it again. After that, reboot your machine.

  • I tried downloading the new update for itunes I get these error messages: Visual C   runtime library R6034 an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly Error 7 windows error 1114.  What should I do to correct this?

I tried downloading the new update for my desktop PC I get the following error messages:
    Visual C++ Runtime library
    R6034
an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly Error 7 Windows Error 1114

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • I have Adobe Illustrator CS5 Runtime C++ Library Error Message

When I open a large Ai file I get an error saying Runtime C++ Library error, how do I fix it? It works with small files but not my large one, this is the only program it has been doing it and just occurred recently within the last week. I have Windows 7 (PC obviously), I've tried uninstalling the programs and re-installing, deleting folders/files and restarting the program and still comes up when I try to open just one file, that's pretty big and don't know what else to do.

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:
