CrystalReportsViewer under SSL using IE

I have run into a particulary strange issue regarding cache-control and IE6/7 under SSL.  Unfortunately it is affecting me using the CrystalReportViewer control within my ASP.Net application.  I have an SSL Website and the CrystalReportsViewer control dynamically loads my report.  All works fine in development and I can even export the report to PDF using the same report source that is being passed to the report viewer utilizing the Crystal Reports Engine.  My report renders fine within the CrystalReportViewer but when I try and use the built in export features of the viewer I get nothing.  When I try and save it to disk IE gives me the following error:
"internet explorer was not able to open this internet site".
It is definitely related to SSL and all the code works fine as I have been using Crystal Reports.net for years and have yet to have any issues that I have been unable to resolve on my own.  I have found a number of people who have had this issue but although they claim to have fixed it, they have not posted any solutions.  I would be forever in debt to someone who could help me on this one, as I have spent numerous hours searching the web for answers to no avail.
The issue can be easily duplicated by creating a simple crystal report and viewing it throught the ASP.Net crystalreportviewer.  Then deploying it to a site that uses SSL.  Try to export the report and you will find it does not work.

If your users require reason as to why this is required, here's a brief:
There were security issues with Internet Explorer saving all binary streams to a temporary file.   Even if SSL is used, the temp file is saved unencrypted.
To alleviate these concern, the default for Internet Explorer is to not save binary contents retrieved from SSL to disk.
The actual implementation - the last I looked - was the Internet Explorer will save the stream to disk, then delete it before passing the request off to the program registered for the MIME type.
So Adobe Reader will try opening a PDF file that's no longer there.
I can't say for sure if the security concern is legitimate or not, but the resolution specific for the SSL is as I stated above.
Sincerely,
Ted Ueda

  • Possible bug using go tag with redirection under SSL?

I've been testing an application under SSL and have noticed that some links "pop-out of SSL". Upon further inspection I noticed the links were using <go> tags with redirect set to true.
Does anyone know where <go> gets the URL it uses? I'm wondering if this might be a webcache configuration issue or appserver config issue.
    note: using AS 10g 9.0.4.1.1
    Thanks in advance!
    /SFL

    Hi all,
Just thought I'd update on resolution. As suspected, an AS config issue was responsible for this glitch. Long story short WebCache can communicate in 2 ways w/ an origin server (HTTP or HTTPS). You can have WebCache use SSL w/ the client and still communicate with the origin server using HTTP (which was our case). PITFALL: the origin server is unaware of the use of SSL by the client (WebCache only "knows"). SINCE THE ORIGIN SERVER IS THE ONE EXECUTING THE <GO> TAG, when using redirect=true attribute with the tag, the URL generated by the rewrite routine is HTTP and not HTTPS as one might expect when accessing the app via SSL.
Hope I can spare someone else the headache...
    Cheers!
    /SFL

  • What happened to the lock icon when using SSL? Cannot easily determine SSL use without using sniffer.

The SSL lock icon does not appear in new Firefox 4 during use of SSL. Why was it removed? Only method of determining successful SSL use is through the use of a sniffer and netstat. There is no obvious lock anywhere in the browser while using SSL
ALSO.... STOP CHANGING THE ORDER OF THE OPEN NEW TAB/OPEN NEW WINDOW UNDER THE FILE->list.

The "Site Identity button", which provides a lot more pertinent information about a web site, was introduced in Firefox 3, and was used along with the "Security Lock icon"; that "Lock icon" was finally removed from Firefox 4 versions. <br />

If it's an RS-232 Serial Device - why don't you use a serial port instead? That way you can just read the data using simple serial functions.
If you have to use a digital I/O device - then you will need to convert the signal into digital data (using the timing information of the RS-232 device) and then convert it into the numeric data output by the device. It's not something I've ever tried to do but have a look at the digital waveform functions in LabVIEW as that might help you convert the analogue signal into binary data which you can then convert into a string.

    Dear ,
If your PGI is showing complete in document flow of Sales Order means , your Sales Order Stock should not appear in MMBE for that item .Please re-check PGI over all status .
Only thing it may be Invoice/Billing (VF01) which has not done yet and showing acctouting not clear .It does not have any realtion with stock i think .
Once you did PGI which is also the picking of the Sales Order Stock from specified storage loaction and  dispathing through configured shipping point .

  • Setup SSL using test Certificate

    Hi,
All I am trying to setup SSL on my weblogic server 6.1. I have generated CSR and
received a temporary free certificate from verisign. But I am having hard time
following documentation..as wording is misleading. Can anyone tell me exactly
how would I setup/configure SSL using this test certificate. Any help ASAP will
    be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Yeshwant,
I looked at my weblogic.log file and apparently last log I see is when I actually
generated a CSR using servlet. That was last week, no updates to log after that.
I got my error on IE browser version 5.0
Also CA root file that you pointed me to will not work. I am assuming do if I
need to go buy valid certificate which comes along with CA file and CSR.
    Thanks

can you attach the weblogic.log file ?

    listening

    "There was a communicator problem"

    Hi Jitesh
There are 3 things needed to get up and running with ssl
1)Server Key File Name --> This is the private key which is generated
    along with the
CSR (usually by the certificate webapp if you are using it)
2)Server Certificate File Nname --->This is the certificate that verisign
    sent you
3)Server Certificate Chain File Name ---> This should be either sent
    by verisign or
it will be available on their site . If not try the Intermediate
    CA
    available at
    http://www.verisign.com/support/install/index.html
On the right there is a link titled (Get Intermediate CA here )
All these 3 fields can be configured through the Console-->Server-->SSL
    tab
Restart the server and it should be able to use the trial certificate
    and start the
    SSLListenThread

  • Compile occi under solaris using g++/gcc problem

    Hi Expert:
I got some link error when i tried to compile a demo occi code under solaris using g++. Please share experience.
    Thanks.

Namespaces are not supported in -compat=4 mode. The only effect of -features=namespace is to recognize "namespace" as a keyword, and disallow it as an identifier. You don't actually get namespace semantics.
The pupose of -compat=4 is to allow code written for C++ 4.x to compile and run until the code can be updated to conform to the C++ Standard. If you want to use features from the C++ standard, like namespaces, you must use Sun C++ in the default standard mode.
If you remove -compat=4, the code compiles and links. If you need to use -compat=4 mode, remove uses of namespace, and fix the code to remove name conflicts.
BTW, we recommend against using -features=bool in -compat=4 mode. It can cause odd behavior when part of the code expects boolean expressions to have type int and part of the code expects bool to be a different type.
It appears you are using C++ 5.0, a product that has been obsolete for several years and which is no longer supported. You should consider updating to Sun Studio 11 (C++ 5.8), at no cost.

  • Creative Cloud is always listed under "Apps Using Significant Energy" in OSX Mavericks

The Creative Cloud app always seems to be listed under "Apps Using Significant Energy" in OSX Mavericks. Is this normal behavior? Is there something that CC is doing in the background that requires it to draw energy? Thanks for any insight anyone can provide.

I've been having the same problem, it's not a Mavericks thing as it was doing it previously, it's using the discrete graphics some times and that's what uses the energy.
It's not consistent either, right now I'm on integrated graphics but randomly it'll switch to discrete with Creative Cloud shown as the dependancy (I use gfxCardStatus to keep an eye on what's happening), I can understand when PhotoShop etc are running but just the installer app???
I asked Adobe on Twitter a couple of months back but it got ignored. Would like an update as I use battery power a fair amount and CC controll app sapping my all important battery power for no good reason is a bit off.
I like the CC concept and how frequently things get updated but perhaps take a few days longer and get things tested in house before you release them, I've only just got CC working again after the last disaster of an update, please take a little care Adobe, this stuff is important to us.

Charging a smartphone on a daily basis has pretty much been par for the course for 7 years now unless you just don't use it at all...
Maybe you could clarify just how much it's draining and with what kind of usage...
Look at Settings>General>Usage... scroll down and look at the statistics for usage and standby. Keep track of this for a day or so.

  • 2-way SSL using t3s protocol

    Goodmorning,
I'm trying to get a 2-way SSL connection between two WLS 10.3 in production mode.
WLS #1 contains the client application and WLS #2 contains the server application.
I've got a standalone Microsoft CA.
I've configured WLSs with custom identity and trust JKS Stores.
In trust store I stored the CA certificate.
In identity store I created a selfsigned cert with RSA alg and this cert was signed from my CA.
In identity store I also stored the CA's Certificate.
I've enabled SSL with custom identity and trust store,
    None host verification,
    Export Key Lifespan 500,
Two Way Client Cert Behavior: Client cert requested and enforced,
    SSL Rejection Logging Enabled checked,
Inbound and Outbound Certificate Validation: Builtin SSL Validation Only
I configured both WLS as explained (except identity certs that are custom for each server).
I can invoke WLS #2 Webservices from WLS #1 via https.
So I tried to invoke an EJB deployed on WLS #2 via t3s, but it didn't work.
During handshake process, the first step is ok; in fact WLS #1 trusts WLS #2 certs.
The second step goes wrong; here follows some logs.

One useful info: if I deploy both EJB application and client application all on the same WLS and alient application invokes the EJB via t3s, all works fine.
Is there anything missing/wrong in the configuration?
    Thanks.

    Is this a typo?
In identity store I created a selfsigned cert with RSA alg and this cert was signed from my CA.It can't be both self-signed and signed by a CA.
In identity store I also stored the CA's Certificate. The identity store should not have a CA certificate in it. Either put the CA in your trust store, or chain your CA and your identity into a single cert within your identity store.
During the handshake, the server (#2) will send a list of of its trusted CA certs to the client. The client has to look in its identity store for certs which are signed by one of the CAs sent by the server.
If your client has multiple identity certs ( with the clientAuth key usage ) in its identity store, then there has to be some way to choose which cert to select. Does t3s use the SSL configuration's alias in the client as http does? You can test this by only using a client identity store with a single identity cert which is signed by one of the CA certificates presented by your server.

  • Problems with SSL using Apache proxy

I'm trying to use Apache+mod_ssl+openssl on linux RedHat 6.2 and mod_wl_ssl from WLS 5.1+SP5. Setting PathTrim in httpd.conf I'm able to send http request
to WebLogic Cluster located on outside machines. However, https requests don't work and I receive the following messages in httpd's error_log
    [Fri Sep 1 13:44:01 2000] [notice] Apache/1.3.12 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.6.6 OpenSSL/0.9.5a configured -- resuming normal operations
[Fri Sep 1 13:44:28 2000] [notice] child pid 12329 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) Do you receive the same message in error_log
Any help you can provide will be appreciated.
    Enrico

My client (Netscape browser) are making SSL connection to Apache.
I would use SSL3 from client to Apache then read the client certificate from
WebLogic (in back-end) servlet to check the user's attribute from ldap
server. Could you tell me if there is some example of keeping client
certificate from front-end web server to WebLogic servlet?
    Thanks,
    Enrico
