CS: how to assign a Superior Functional Location?

I created a Functional Location (tcode: IL01).
Now I want to assign to it a Superior Functional Location.
How/where we can do this assignment?

How to get Classes of Functional Location and Equipment

Dear Experts,
I would like to know how to get all the classes in Classificaition of Functional Location and Equipement, FM ITOB_GET_CLASS_STANDARD is only get 1 class, how do I get all declared classes inside classification?
Any table or FM?

Weng,
Table KLAH would give you all the available classes for every class type.
FM CLAF_CLASSIFICATION_OF_OBJECT would get you all the assigned classes of a particular type for a object.

How to use BAPI_HELPVALUES_GET with functional location

I try to create an RFC connection searchhelp for my ECC system to the functional location table.
I thought of using the bapi_helpvalues_get but I get stuck in determing the right input data
I have found the right objectype in SWOI
BUS0010
now I found out thanks to see where the function was used and how it was filled in with which values

but still I get an error

and If abnybody nows how I can build a searchhelp with just a searchhelp exit without a view to search for values it will also solve my problem in creating a searchhelp with data from another system which I have to retrieve by RFC

BAPI_PTIMEOVERVIEW_GET
Just pass in the a From date and To date, and then in tables, pass in a employee no, in EMPLOYEES field.thats all, execute. Any prompts you get to enter a value for anything just click save without entering any values. You will get data returned in Result table of TIMEOVERVIEW.
You can find the Documentation of this, when you go into display mode of this Bapi, you will find function module documentation on top right hand side of the screen. in any case i am pasting it below.
Functionality
    This method defines a time data overview for employees.
    The time data determined can be used as a value guide for recording in
    another system (such as in a time sheet or an external system).
Notes
    An "asynchronous access" to R/3 Time Management data determined by the
    method PTimeOverview.Replicate specifies the employees for whom a time
    data overview is to be created.
    A "sysnchronous access" to R/3 Time Management data determined by the
    time period entered and the external application specifies the employees
    for whom a time data overview is to be created.
    The employees selected are returned in the EMPLOYEES parameter. A list
    of the time types for these employees also to be included in the
    overview is returned in the TIMETYPES parameter.
    The time data overviews are returned in the TIMEOVERVIEW parameter.
    The selected time types and the applicable number of hours are returned
    in the TIMETYPEVALUES parameter.
    The overviews are transferred to the other systems by the method
    PTimeOverview.SaveReplica.

How to delete the incorrected Functional Location / Equipment

Dear PM Guru's
please let me know the procedure to delete the incorrected functional location / equipment or any other data like plans, orders, task lists etc. i went in change mode and i clicked on Deletion flag and clicked on Set option. when it will be deleted from data base is it required any other customized settings. if any thing required please tell me.

Hey,
Deletion in SAP is not easily possible. That's is the reason, so much attention is given while creating such masters. Most of the masters in SAP can only be flagged for deletion i.e. you don't move it out.
To move out from database, you need to perform Archiving. It's a separate function, which is performed, servers handling the archival data are different.Accessing the archived data is also different. Once you archive, the flagged for deletion items are essentially moved and you don't see them in your regular servers.
As of now, you can only flag them for deletion. I hope this explanation makes things clear.

Places Question: How to Assign Photos to Existing Location

In Aperture 3, it is easy to create a pin location for some photos by dragging them to the places map.
No problem. Pin is created.
What I am having difficulty doing is then later assigning additional photos to that same pin.
My Canon T1i does not have gps built in.
Any suggestions?
Also, am having difficulty changing the name of a pinned location. That must be easy, but is escaping me.
Comments on that as well?
Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding the comment:
Its rather tricky. There is a contextual menu activated by a right click on a pin label.
With a right click on the existing pin I do get a contextual menu which permits:
New Place For Photos
Assign Photos
Move Pins
Assign photos always creates a new pin close to, but separate from, the one I want to assign the photos to.
I can ultimately combine the two pins by dragging the new one to be on top of the actual pin I want.
Seems strange. It would seem that you would want to be able to directly assign new photos to an existing pin.
What am I missing.
Also, I do have the full paid upgrade version of Aperture 3.01

Assigning Superior Fuunctional Location to a Functional Location

Hi Experts,
I am assigning a Superior Functional Location to a Functional Location in IL02. This allows the Functional Location to inherit data from the Superior Functional Location.
However, im my scenario this is incorrect as I do not want the data to be inherited and overwritten.
Does anyone know how I can do this to prevent the data being overwritten - in terms of in IL02 or Configuration? When I use IL02 it does not give me the option to prevent it from overwriting.

There is no customizing to change that. If you copy from either ref. functional location / functional location, some of the data will be copied automatically.
Even you create some superior FL first & then derive sub FL, some fields will be copied automatically.
Go to Menu Edit => Data Origin list, you can find the fields inherited from superior.
If you want to change, go to menu Edit => Data Origin & change the option to Maintain individually

Assign equipment from hierarchy to functional location

Hi all,
I'm new to PM so the question might be a bit stupid. But I have got a hierarchy for a piece of equipment. The highest level is a recorder. The lower levels are sensors that i need to calibrate. I now want to assign the sensors (lower level) to functional locations. It can be possible that each lower level is assigned to another functional location. Is this possible? I now get the error message that the piece of equipment is assigned to a hierarchy.

This can be achieved but obviously the equipment hierarchy would be disturbed because the equipment can either be installed on a functional location or a superior equipment not both the two. What you can do is the functional location for the superior equipment is to be extended so as to cover the subordinate equipments and obviously there would not be any direct link between the equipment and the superior equipment.
Equipment: Recorder installed on FLoc: Plant-Recorder
Equipment: Sensor installed on Floc:Plant-Recorder-Sensor
that is how you can achieve it but the relationship between the equipment and superior equipment is to be compromised.

How can I change the default start-up date for a new functional location?

Is there a way to change the default date when creating a functional location? Whenever we create a new functional location, there is a date populated in the start-up date field. This date is our go-live date from last year and I cannot find the location in the IMG (if there is one) to stop the date from automatically populating with the date from the superior functional location. I tried setting the field from input to required but the date still populates automatically. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to leave the start-up date field blank when creating a new functional location?

That field is generally picked up from the immediate superior FL in the hierarchy through the inheritance functionality.You will have to overwrite this date.I dont think you can clear this field through Configuration functionality.
If you are in Ecc 6.0, you could get the help of developer to use implicit enhancement to initialize the field contents.

How is functional location linked with work order tables

Hi, Experts:
I am working on a BW project to extract Plant Maintenance data from R/3 to BW system. We need to get work order data with related Functional Location data togather. When check the 2 tables AFIH for Work Order header and AUKF for Order master data, I don't see Functional Location field in neither of the 2 tables.
Can anyone please tell me how (by which table/field) Functional Location data in table IFLOT is linked to a Work Order stored in tables AFIH and AUKF?

Thanks for the reply! I tried to get the values of ILOAN from table AFIH. And pass the value to the field ILOAN in ITOB. However, no data returned from ITOB. The ILOAN in AFIH has different set of values from the ILOAN in ITOB.

Partner data from Functional Location to Equipment

Dear Expert,
How can I transfer partner data (Bill to party, Ship to party) from Functional Location to Equipment. I have tried with 'Install with data transfer' but there is no option available for partner.

Error in creating functional location

Hai all,
My struc.indicator is XXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX.
I have created the functional locations till the third hierarchy level.Also i created the user status and assign this profile to the functional lcoation named XXXX-XXXXXXXXXX
Based on the above settings, i have done the transactions also by changing the user status from one to another in the above said functional location.Later i decided that this user status is not relevant for this and i cancelled the assignment in the functional location and in the OIBS Object types.
Even after removal of assignment, still the assignment of status profile to the funtional lcoation is showing in the IL02.
Now i couldnt able to create the new functional location and system is throwing the following error.
No status object is available for FL #1
Message no. BS001
Diagnosis
When trying to read the status of an object (FL #1), a system error occurred: For object number TM0000000001IF there is no status object.
Procedure
Please contact your system administrator.
Now my questions are
1.How to permanently delete the assignment of userprofile still showing in the functional location even after cancel the assignment .
2.How to eliminate the above said error

1.I am using IE02 for insall the equipment.
2.This is happening every time and also i tried for another functional location category and structural indicator too.
3.I am getting the same error messages whenever i am trying to create the fucntional location.
4.I changed the user status of the F.Loc and again i tried the reinstalling the equipment.No change observed.
Also, Finally i cancelled the assignment and deleted the user status profile itself.Still its not working .
Since i am concentrationg on the other part, i couldnt continoulsy do the trouble shooting.
Any other suggestions.

I would suggest you to go through the function module /ISDFPS/ME_PM_FLOC_GETDETAIL in debug mode to understand the various aspects of a Functional Location.
It lists the various child locations and the equipment assigned to it, and also, may be put a Break point on SELECT statement and check the various tables involved.
The only complication is determining the Superior functional location and the equipment assigned to it.
The following tables will help you.
AFIH,
ILOA,
IFLOT,
EQUZ.
Let me know if you want to know the logic involved in determining it.

Functional location at quote level

HI,
According to client requirement The quote needs to contain some form of representation of the functional location, otherwise they will not know what locations are affected by the quote, the change, the termination etc.
Please give me the solution how to check/customize location in the quotation level.

Hello Miku,
If you are using service related materials, then you can assign in the functional location in Quotation or in sales documents in the following menu option: Quotation>Extras>Technical Objects.
If you are not using service related materials, then option could be, create configurable material, with a reference characteristics with Table Name=IFLO, Field Name=TPLNR. This way you can link an existing functional location to quotation items.

I have an existing system with Functional Locations & Superior Functional Locations, Equipments with Superior equipments. I need to update the BOM for all (most) of these. Can we do it through LSMW or any other Mass update transactions?? Please guide me with the process.

You Can use LSMW object by Direct INPUT method In which Sap ECC 6.00 has Standard Programme for uplaoding of BOM.Details are as below
