CS11 Excel sheet data view online

Hi Experts,
My user wants in T-Code CS11, he is supposed to get the data transfered to Excel. This does not work at the moment, customer gets a message saying that he must save the file first. ie he wants to view when he Click on excel-symbol (ctrlshiftF7) it was taking us to save the execel file in HTML format.But his requirement is that when he click on excel-symbol (ctrlshiftF7) he should able to view all the datas in excel file online.
Please guide me on this.

Hi Kumar,
I tried it on my system (ECC 6) and it works just the way you want. You click on the Excel button and it switches to excel interface online, without having to save first.
There's an alternative display, the "old" kind which is not ALV but rather based on screen and print layouts. There you don't have this option.
This type of display is activated by pushing "View" button on first screen, and "Variable list" on the second.
Make sure that you don't use this by default or by mistake.

Upload excel sheet data through sqlloader into oracle tables

hi everyone,
i am working with excel sheet with following records
8501      Jacob Marshall      15000      21/10/2009      Finance
8502      Chris Campell      50000      13/06/2008      R&D

and i saved it in emp_details.csv
after that when i write following code to make control file
load data
infile 'C:\Documents and Settings\prashant_dabral\Desktop\a.txt'
into table tmp
field terminated by','optionally enclosed by" "
(emp_no,emp_name,salary,doj,dept_name)
after this pl\sqldev returning me error message that ORA-00900:invalid sql statement
can anybody tell me how to resolve issue

A control file is a file located on the operating system, not some SQL or PL/SQL code you try and execute.
Create the control file as a file and then use that to load your data with SQL*Loader from the command line.

Thank you very much for looking into my thread.
Actually i followed everything that is been mentioned in "http://avdeo.com/2008/05/21/uploading-excel-sheet- using-oracle-application-express-apex/" and i got a successful result.
But, with the above process I can only upload a .csv format excel and not a .xls format excel file.
Thats where i got stucked and unable to find any clue on how to move further to achieve in uploading .xls file.
It would be very great if you guide me through in this process.

I need to export excel data to SharePoint 2010 list. I have created 22 columns in list which are of following Column types:
Single line of text,
Multiple line of text,
Choice
Number,
Date,
Person or Group.
Now i need to export the excel data to SharePoint list.
When iam trying to copy data from excel to List , it is showing as "The selected cells are read only".
can someone guide on this to export spread sheet data to SharePoint list without importing Spreadsheet.

Can't save BISM file pointing to excel sheet (data source). ErrMsg: "There were errors found while validating the page: Cannot connect to the server or database."

Me and a collegue is administrering our new enterprise BI portal in SharePoint 2013 (On Premise) and have a problem with using a specific Excel file including general ledger data as data source through a BISM file.
This particular BISM file can't be saved without getting the error message "There were errors found while validating the page: Cannot connect to the server or database."
BISM files against other Excel sheets and sources (for example SSAS tabular databases) works well.
Can anyone help us pinpointing whats wrong here, this is a really important stakeholder in our organization requesting this reporting?

How to check data in Data Target Browser against a Excel sheet data

I have two Data Targets with CUSTOMER as field. I would like to compare the CUSTOMER records in both the Data Targets. I saved "Data Target 1" to Excel sheet.
Now, I am thinking that somehow I need to load this Excel sheet into the "Data Target 2" to verify matching records for CUSTOMER. Let me know if this is a possibility.
Also, what would be a better way to get the list of all the matching records for CUSTOMER in two different Data Targets.

Is Customer is the Master data, if so then goto SE16, give ur master data table name /BIC/Mtable name, then execute, In the results page>menu bar> Edit>Download> Save file in Rich text format-->export the data.same way u do it for other one two.

Reading Excel sheet data in WebDynpro Java Application

I need to read an excel file which is stored locally in my computer. How to use upload UI element (in WebDynpro Java) ?
After reading the excel file the data is displayed in table structure in WD Java application. After doing some calculations on click of generate excel button the table data is translated into excel sheet. How to achieve this?

Hi,
I think there is no other method to update an existing list with Excel. It is only possible to create a new list based on an Excel-Sheet.
To save an Excel sheet to a list, click Site Actions->More options->Import Spreadsheet.
Browse for an appropriate file to import. The file will be imported as a list.

Excel sheets data loading

Hi
We have a requirement where we need to lad the flat files. But the user gives the flat file in one excel sheet and itu2019s in different sheets. In sheet1 I have 30 K records and in second sheet 50 K records.
But I need to load this file with out doing any modifications and as we know that BW info package allows only one sheet at a time, But we need to load all sheets at a time.
Is there any way to load these sheets at a time?

Hello,
You can split the two sheets in two different excel files and save them in CSV format.
Once you do that, open both the files using notepad and copy the contents of second file below the the contents of first file and save it.
Now try to load.

Problem in spooling the clob data to Excel sheet

You may need to put double quotes around your CSV string data, so that Excel can recognise it as single values rather than trying to split it across cells/rows.
For example a nicely formed CSV may look like:

How to transfer data more than 255 char from excel sheet to internal table.

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement where i have a text field in the excel sheet of more than 255 char and need to be updated in the text element. To do that i need to transfer the excel sheet data to an internal table where one of the field is more than 255 char.
in the standard function module it works only upto 255 char. Can you help me if we have some other way to get more than 255 char in the internal table from excel sheet.

Using .xls, it is not possible transfer data more than 255 characters from excel sheet. However if the excel sheet is saved as Comma Delimited format or Tab Delimited format, then using GUI_DOWNLOAD function module data more than 255 characters can be transferred.
File name should be : .csv (Comma Delimited format) or .txt (Tab Delimited format)
File Type would still remain 'ASC' while calling function module GUI_DOWNLOAD
Also In the internal table declare the field type as String or LCHAR.
Eg:
TYPES: begin of ty_file,
        col_a TYPE string,
      end of ty_file.
DATA: i_file type standard table
               of ty_file
             with header line
CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'
EXPORTING
    FILENAME                      = 'C:\test.csv'
TABLES
    DATA_TAB                      = i_file

Upload the excel sheet in table maintenance

Hi,
I have a requirement to add a button in the application toolbar of the table maintenance screen of a custom table. This button should upload the excel sheet data into the maintenance screen online.
I have created the button in the table maintenance generator. Also, uploaded the data into the internal table from the excel sheet.
The problem is I am unable to populate the data from the internal table to the maintenance screen online.
Any pointers in this regards will be appreciated.

I created a custom table ZHEDGERES. Then in the table maintenance -> environment -> modification -> user interface I selected Individual interface.
Then, in the Menu painter for the program SAPLZHEDGERES, modified the PF status EULG and added the additional button in the Application toolbar. This application toolbar needs to be used to trigger the upload of excel into the custom table.
Below is the standard code which is generated in the screen painter of the custom table.
