[cs3][as2] Help with Animation Displacement

I've been trying to piece together a way to have an image
with a flag wave fade in as soon as the movie loads. Once the image
is faded in almost all the way, I want the waving to slow to a stop
so at the end, it's a static image. I've gotten most of this
accomplished, however, once the flag wave slows and stops, the
entire image shifts up and to the right. I'm sure it has something
to do with some displacement variable, but since I'm no coder I
can't seem to figure out how to stop this. Anyone have any ideas?

In order to interact with each object separately, each object will have to be either a movieclip or a button symbol. As far as stopping everything goes, if you have all this animation on a sungle timeline, then you would just command the timeline to stop where it is using stop(); If each piece is animated on its own timeline, then you need to target each individual timeline and tell each to stop using stop(); If you plan to use actionscript to animate all of these pieces, then you will need to design the code so that the animating code is inhibited when you want everything to stop, possibly making a variable that each animating bit of code uses to decide whether to allow/disallow animation in the form of a conditional (if()).

Help with animated gif background once opened in Photoshop c33 extended

I often work with animated Gif's and a
adding doggies etc to the top layer.
I am having a problem with animated Gif with (existing transparent) background when saving from the web and opening in Photoshop cs3 extended it is changing the background to White automatically ? ( which is not what I want) I would like to know how to keep in the same format with the tranparent or even change to black as that is the background on my website.....do not know why it is converting it to white in photoshop or how to change....Thank you advance!

[CS3][JS] Help with image resizing

I'm still a newbie of ID scripting.
I'm using js scripting in Indesign CS3 to make an auto-impaginator and I have a problem with images.
I charged my contents from an xml set of tables, that I put into a fixed textFrame of the master page.
Because of the table needs to fill multiple pages, I made a function that keep creating pages and link the textFrames so that the table continues in various pages.
In this whole process I have some images too, that I need to resize them to fill the cell, because now they pass the parent cell.
I found a method that looks at the bounds and resizes the image and the rectangle too, but it doesn't work always, because if a image is overflowing, it hasn't any bound and it fails, and this causes other problems in my process, so I would find another method.
So:
Is there another way to resize an image on-the-way while importing it? Some xml attribute or preference?
Or some method that works also if the image is overflowing?

Adobe should PAY at least a junior developer involved in the projects to monitor and help with these posts. FLEX rules yeah and thousands more do scripting than develop plug ins...

What this will involve is a movieclip/timeline containing images showing the sequence of the motion (like the frames of a movie film) and a Slider component that changes the frame of that movieclip/timeline based on its position.

You could edit the looks of the Slider component if you like by doubleclicking it and the inner parts you want to modify, or you could create one of your own if you have enough know-how to code it to work.

[CS3 JS] Help with adding textMacros

I can get a textMacro added with the following.
app.textMacros.add("myName", "this is some text")
What I am having trouble with is having the Remember Text Attributes be grabed or set to true.
Any one know what the syntax is for setting this during the add()
also how do you insert a macro via a javascript?

I created an animated gif in photoshop cs3 with combination of text and images in Mac. For some reason, the text on the banner looks fuzzy on Internet Explorer. Do any of you know what is wrong with the banner? Can anyone help me on this?

How does it look in Firefox on Windows? By only testing one browser on Windows, you cannot determine if it is a matter of the browser or the overall settings for the computer.
Do you have a page to share so that we can see the fuzziness or can you post the GIF file here?

HELP with animation for buttons (i tried to search for days for solution)

i'm designing a website in flash8... now i have created some buttons, and i want that when i click on the button stars will fly from them and there will be a sound... i have already created the animation of the stars seperatly and it's in the library, i have also the sound file.... i just can't remember how to put everything together.... can someone please remind me what to do step by step so when i'll press on the button the stars will be flying from the button and the sound will play??? pleaseeeeeeeee, it's very very important to me... i would be thankful <3

Help With Animating Over an AVI File!

I have imported a 30 second avi clip into Flash and I am
trying to create an animation over it. I've gathered that I need to
create a new layer for the animation and I have drawn the object to
animate but now when I press play, the timeline moves but the movie
does not play so I don't know where to animate to. If anyone can
offer any help it would be very much appreciated.

First, you need to learn the basics of using After Effects. Start here to learn After Effects.
Then you'll be able to ask specific questions as you run into specific problems with what you're trying to accomplish.
There are instructions here and in the pages that it points to related to importing and using elements from PSD files.

Search for handwriting tutorials in Flash, this is
essentially what you're
doing. Basically, you erase a mask backwards, frame by frame
- so that when
played forward it covers the area you want to reveal. It's a
simple process,
just a little tedious.

Problems/help with animated GIF exports

I am an experienced Photoshop user. I recently upgraded to CS5 (Windows) and have been attempting to produce animated gif files.
After reading a few tutorials on the topic, I have been able to:
Create a PSD with a few jpg images as layers;
Move the layers to the animation window;
Set the cycle times and optimize the animation window; and,
Use the Save for Web Devices dialog to create the GIF file.
Everything appears to be normal throughout this process. However, the exported GIF file appears as a dark gray frame when I open it in IE, or upload it to my image hosting site.
Anybody else experiencing this type of problem?

No, my Photoshop CS5 saves animated GIFs just fine, and I did just what you said. For example (you have to click on an image here to see it animate):
Can you post your image here? Maybe it could be a problem with your browser not animating the image properly? What version of IE do you use?

Help with animated gif messages

I can't seem to get animated GIFS with music as a SMS or a MMS to play. They are sent from people with phones like the Razor, LG, Envy etc. on the same network as mine ( Verizon ). When I get the message it will show the GIF for about 1 second then it dissapears, then the music plays. It will also give me the option to open the attachments or slides but the GIFS don't open . I can get Video messages from anyone and the videos plays fine. In the past when I opened one of these messages it would kill the audio on my phone and I would have to do a hard reboot for my phone to work even though I could still receive SMS and MMS messages, just the audio on the phone died. I was told the new OS 4.5 would correct this. The only thing it fixed was now if I get a animated GIF message it still does not play but my phone does work and I don't have to reboot. Is there a setting I need to change or is this not supported? I have 2 Curves 8330 OS 4.5.0.77 BIS on Verizon with the unlimted BB plan.

Can you embed an animated gif into emails as a signature? i
have tried it in entourage and outlook, but the gif seems to stick
on the first frame. The animation works fine if viewed in a browser
etc. I have also made the email html format.

Need help with animation, for my XAML game

I need help in creating animation for my snake and ladder game(C#,XAML). I have completed the game logic, but can't understand how to animate my UI.
1. I want to animate 6 dice images so that when the player clicks on the Roll Dice Button a shuffle animation will play, and while the animation is playing the user can't click any thing.
2. I want the player disc to move one step at a time (animation) on the game board.

Help with Animation Resize on Tablet devices

When I publish from edge directly it works perfect on tablets, but when I insert it to the html page I get the problem.

I checked on a first gen. iPad and you are right, it does not resize. Funny thing is, it does re-size when you close your browser to between 750px - 775px :-)
My first thought is your script to check for tablet usage:

I'm rather new to Edge and havent gotten to making a "Tablet" sized animation yet, so I don't know if Edge created the script or you added it it.
Since it re-sizes in a regular browser, coun ld you try switching the size based on the browser size by adding these div's to your CSS, just to see if it affects it?
