CS4 and camera problem

I recently installed Creative Suite CS4 on my computer (Windows XP Professional). Yesterday I used Bridge for the first time to sort
through images. Today I could not download photos, My Canon Power Shot SD 800 IS camera is showing up in all the right places on the computer. Windows says the driver is working properly and "the device is working properly", etc. but yet the EOS utility to download photos into "My Pictures" will not open and the sign that comes up is "the computer cannot locate the camera". Is this a CS4 problem? driver problem? Windows problem?
I read through googling that there was a problem with cameras on CS3. Is this a repeat?
Anyone have this situation? Sure would be greatful for any suggestions as I really cannot go out and buy a new camera just now.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Adobe Bridge (CS4) and Camera Raw 5.4

I use a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and store in RAW-format.
The camera is updated with latest software etc.
I have the Adobe Design CS4 package on my computer and updated to the camera raw 5.4 version (bridge/photoshop/etc).
All this is updated to last versions / updates etc.
I upload my pictures from the camera to my computer.
When I inspect the files with the Canon software such as "Digital Photo Professional 3.6.1.0" or "Canon Utilities ZoomBrowser EX 6.3.1" (this are the latest versions and updates) the files are copied correct to my computer.
The files can be opened with the canon software without any problem and can be modified and converted and all normal operations can be performed.
The files can also be converted to ".jpg" and no problem occurs.
The problem starts after the folder with the pictures (in RAW-format) has been opened / viewed in Adobe Bridge or after Adobe bridge is started.
After starting and viewing with bridge the folder only some of the file become corrupted and cannot be used anymore.So the majority of the files remain OK but some files become corrupt.
A part of the picture is visible partly, the remaining part are lines, dots, squares etc and the divisions of correct picture and corrupted seems to be at random. There is no structure in the way the corrupted file are shown in bridge. Please look at the enclosed picture in this message.
The files can be opened in Camera Raw and Photoshop but they show the corrupted file and can be stored etc.
But the picture is destroyed.
Does anybody have a sollution or similar problems?

Saving Jpeg in Photoshop CS4 and having problems

Okay, i have been looking all over the internet and i hope it's something really foolish...
After editing a photo in Photoshop (CS4) and saving it as a JPEG / JPG, many people using windows can't open the file, and it gets the extension .JPGG ( ...?... )
If I import the picture in Iphoto first and then mail it ther is no problem.
perhaps this is quite obvious to some, but it's a mystery to me.
To update my website i need to save my JPG files to an XML folder and then flash reads the files and opens them in the site.
The JPG files i saved using photoshop won't open in the site, even worse, the site won't even load because the loader gets 'stuck'.
i tried putting them in Iphoto first because that helped with with mailing, but it doesn't seem to be working this time.
I've tried all the JPG saving options like Baseline etc. converted them to RGB ( they already were) so i'm out of options.
ANYONE ?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I have CS3 so don't know if there's major changes to the formatting process by each version. That may be a question to ask in the Adobe support forum.
However, for a workaround you might try using the Automator workflow I created to change any image file to jpg with the sRGB color profile. Just drag the files onto the workflow icon and they will be converted. You can get it, "Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile", at Toad's Cellar. See if those jpgs will work OK. There will be some jpeg compression applied but if they are for posting on the web it may not be objectionable.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Display and camera problems... related?

Dear Folks of Apple Support Communities.
Recently i have started to experience a rather disturbing issues with my screen, and that made me remember of the problems with the camera.
I have MBP retina early 2013 and. well, it is known fact that screens on this particular model are not exactly brilliant... The same could be said about the camera, which has simply tuns of blue noise! But the screen was acting pretty Ok for some time now, there always was a minor image retention, but as i had nowhere to fix this, i had to live with it. But recently the screen started to turn GREEN! Yes that emerald shade, almost like cartoon green!!! That happened to it once before, but was not so intense, well at least i was able to see something... But the other day i was completely blown away, when i turned on my mac and i sew bright-bright green screen with absolutely no picture... Why does this happen to a £2000 product i have no clue! Now it has an uneven colour (the bottom corners are blueish, and the sides are somewhat darker).
Is there some way to resolve it? Or should i ask for the screen replacement (and the camera with it as well)?
I will be in Glasgow starting from september, so i will have an Apple store near by... i just don't want this to happen anymore, it is really scary.

The camera problem when recording the video, i used to use touch to focus, but the when listen to the video the weird sound was produced while i focused on something..the screen has problem when looked at the dark pictures especially on grey colour...it was not the noises but it the screen problem..

Have you installed any third party applications to account for the sound of the continuous auto focus (CAF) mechanism?
You probably need to visit Nokia Care facility so that device can be reset to "factory settings" and completely re-install device software, before pointing towards hardware issue with camera module itself.

In-built microphone and camera problems

Hello,
I have an HP Pavillion DV7 Notebook, S/N [Edited for Personal Information] and product number QG704EA#B1A, running Win7 Home Premium. Some days ago I was obliged to run the recovery procedure. Everything was going well for some days until I tried to communicate again with Skype and found out that although I was receiving sound and video from the calling persons, they were not able to hear me or see me.
I tried to fix the problem with Skype settings but I am receiving always the messages that my built-in microphone and camera are not found/recognised. I looked at control panel/System and confirmed that CyberLink WebCam Virtual Driver (6.0.5600.0 dated 11/1/2010) and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (6.10.6329.0 dated 11/3/2011) are working properly. I even uninstalled them and reinstalled using HP Recovery Manager but still no solution.
Could you please give me some advice?

I see that you're having an issue with mic/camera in skype. I will try to help you with this.
Are you having an issue with these in any other program?
As you've already reinstalled the drivers with Recovery Manager, I would suggest trying to update them next. You can use the HP Support Assistant to do this: Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7).
If that fails to resolve the issue, then you may want to give the following documents a read through.
No Sound from the Speakers or Headphones (Windows 7) - does provide steps for general sound issues
Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7)
If these are working fine during testing or in other programs, you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling skype.

CS4 and Printing Problems

I have just upgraded to Photoshop CS4.
I am running Mac OS 10.4.11 on a G-5 iMac.
I have a high end Canon CLC color printer/copier.
I have spent hours on the phone with Adobe (spoke with guys in 3 different countries) and with Canon.
All drivers are current and my system has all updates.
I can not print to the Canon within CS4. I can from CS2 and every other program and have.
My partner has a (intel) MacBook Pro running OS 10.5x.
He can print from C4 to the Canon.
Has ANYONE experiences any problems printing to a network printer (not a bonjour printer) from CS4 in OS 10.4.11??
My fear is that CS4 really needs OS 10.5x.
I am still running 10.4.11 because I am a Freehand power user.

This is a high end color network printer/copier (Canon CLC 1110).
It is connected via ethernet to a switch thru a router (Airport Base Station) (which is connected to a cable modem).
My computer is connected via ethernet to the switch. (Not via airport)
I can not directly connect to the printer. Other designers need to print to it as well. They have no problems because they have not upgraded to CS4.
My partner can connect via airport. He is on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.5.4 and CS 4.
My issue is... Does OS 10.4.11 really work with CS4 on a G-5? (The documentation says so, but...)
While I can run the app- I can not print from it to the network (LDP) printer.
I can print to a bonjour printer (HP Laserjet 1320n).

CS4 and frameset problem

I have an issue I can't figure out. In MX2004 my frameset works fine..but when I work in CS4 with the same frameset and files...DW CS4 asked me to save the frameset and center frame before it can preview the file. The center frame is actually a remote file. The frameset is as follows:
If I do save the center (untitled frame) then the remote file info is lost and nothing appears in my preview. If I bypass the "save" message...then the frameset previwes fine. If I put the remote info in the newly saved center frame...then it doesn't asppear in the previews ?
Where am I going wrong in CS4...?...I searched DW help for remote files and framesets but found no info ?
I'm thinking the problem is in the "mainframe" line...but I don't know why it works in MX2004 and not CS4 ? The live version tho works ok...but I'm trying to save the constant "need to save frameset and files" every time I preview ?
Also...I know modern standards do not allow for frameborders...framecolor etc...but will these attributes cause any problems with browsers today ? David P said they were not recognized and only used to makes framesets more "visual" to the user....but I don't know if they are detrimental to the site ?
I know frames are frowned on...but I have a couple pages in my site where I need to bring in the remote files...

Surely something with target, name and ID attributes. If used with teh wrong document type definition, deprecated attributes and their values will not be interpreted by newer versions of DW...

Lumiere HD, JVC Decks and cameras, problems problems...

Hi Folks,
I am trying to get an HDV film, [mercifully a short] into FCP.
Oh saints alive how I wish I wasn't!
Here is the problem:
Shot at 25p on the GY-HD100e camera, I have raw footage and a JVC BR-HD50 deck [on loan], I have purchased Lumiere HD and the beta codec which supports my equipment and footage and [supposedly] aid the transport into FCP, which at present, does not support PAL 720p at 25p.
Trouble is, Lumiere does not show my device under device control, not really a problem but slightly worrying. The device is working fine, connected by firewire and controllable from Lumiere. Although, press play in Lumiere and no picture, timecode ticks away but no view of the footage. Not good. At all.
I have four tapes with about 100 takes on each tape, I cannot bulk capture the whole tape, tried it and on the demuxing stage Lumiere crashed very quickly and they advise no more than 28 Minute captures as the sound starts to drift [apparently].
Can anyone advise a course of action, prefarably one which isn't going to cost my poor, beleagured producer any more money. We are over budget and used his credit card to buy Lumiere and hey, he doesn't know it won't work {yet]!!!
I am indeed desperate, your thought will be most appreciated.

S20-30 Touch - no usb, touchscreen and camera problems

Hi all, i have a s20-30 touch with windows 8.1 running, recently ive noticed that my usb has stopped working. when go to device manager it says universal serial bus controller are not installed code 28 - i can not find any drivers for windows 8.1 64 bit and also do remember uninstalling them either. also i have noticed that the touchscreen has stopped working , (screen is in perfect looking condition) and also the intergrated camera is not working also. the laptop runs fine, switches on very fast, opens all programs i use, etc any help. ive looked on the lenovo support pages but nothing seems to be availble to download for what i need. all help would be very much appriciated thanks

Have you tried a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

Photo app and camera problems.

Since upgrading my iphone 3Gs to iOS 5, photos are very blurry and save on top of each other, and the camera app crashes. Ive restored it twice to no avail. Any idea whats going on?

Don't know exactly what's going on. However, when you restored your device, did you restore from backup, or as NEW? If you've been restoring from backup, you're restoring corrupted software over and over. You need to restore your phone as a NEW device and set it up from scratch.

DW CS4 and Flashgallery problem

Hello all!
My first post here so plz be gentle :-)
I´m in NO way a webgrunt and my DW knowledge extents too
a couple of hours in front of a Tutorial DVD.
Problem:
I have this very simple website on which a have a couple of
galleries. I bought the SlideshowPro plugin for Lightroom and it
creates , in my opinion, stunning flashgalleries. Opening the
exported index.htm file in DW is no problem. Applying a template to
the index.htm is no problem and when previewing it in a Browser
(IE7) it is just the way I want it to be. Even the new liveview
shows just the same. BUT... when I upload the website too my
webserver the gallery moves to extreme right. It also moves the
entire website a little up and a little to the side, but that is
not my main problem...
Please, does anyone have an idea

You're correct! I just managed to get my connection to work. I looked in my php.ini file and it only had extension=php_mysqli.dll at the bottom of the page (the dll file to which this refers was in the ext folder). So, I just added extension=php_mysql.dll to the end of the php.ini file then downloaded the PHP 5.2.13 zip package from http://www.php.net/downloads.php and then copied the file php_mysql.dll into the ext folder. I got the clue about mysqli not being supported after i'd carried out a Site > Advanced > Remove Connection scripts - that at least gave me a message "Your PHP Server doesn't have the MySQL module loaded or you cant use the mysql(p) connect functions" - before i did this i just got a useless "An unidentified error has occurred" which left me no further forward. Thanks for your help!

Capture and camera problem

I have final cut express 2.0.3. I recently have had some problems initializing my sony DV camera at the startup (it does not recognize it). Also, the program shuts down when I try to capture or capture a project. I had installed QT 7.0.3, but was advised to go back to 6.5.2. I did that, but nothing changed. I would appreciate any help on this one. Thanks.

Windows 8 and CC problems

I have installed the trial of CC and we get a flashing every time we move anything any ideas? We were using CS4 and the problems were much worse.

Which Adobe CC product exactly?
What are your hardware specs?
Have you tried installing on another computer?
