CS4 Updating Custom Components

I have been unable to find any information regarding this and hope someone out there can answer or point me in the right direction.
I want to use SWC components for work I am doing now. These components will be used in a production environment. Before going down this route, I want to be sure that there will be a reasonable path for updating these components should the need arise. While exploring creating my own Components I have found that the only way I could "update" a file to use the latest component was to delete the component, reload the Component panel, place the new component in my library, and start all over on the stage using the new component. I do see an "update" when I right click on the component in the library but it is unavailable.
Is there a way to make this "update" option available or some other way of updating a component that is currently in use on the stage?

turns out, I had to backup my components to another folder.
Delete the component in Eclipse, create a new component with the
same name in Eclipse. Copy and overwrite the new file with the
backup file. I guess Eclipse wasnt registering the files for some
reason.

Customs components are not updated on the scene

Hello!
i am working on a simple component, it is a movie clip.
On each frames I have a label and an icon.
In the component properties I set up a list where every itemshas the same title as the frames's labels.
With this component I can set any icon I want by selecting it in the list.
This is working fine and I am pretty happy about it.
The Problem:
If I change the name of one item in the list, add one or even reorder the list, the changes are not applied on all the components presents on the scene.
and I have more or less 50 of thoses components in my scene...
Is there a way to have the components updated ? Or at least update manually all the "old" components?
this issue occure with Flash CS5 and CS6 all my doccuments are made in AS3.

Bindings and custom components

hi, i have created a component that wraps the TextInput
control, but it does not work well with the Binding mechanism.
here is the code:

and the binding

does not update the str field, and if str is initialized to a
certain value it would not show on the component,
can any one tell me what i did wrong / forgot to add ??

ADF Faces does define a default-render-kit ID for its application. For your custom components, you'll need to register your Renderers both in the Basic HTML RenderKit (the default renderkit in the spec) and in the ADF renderkit (which is, if memory serves, "oracle.adf.core".) Once you've done that, your custom components will work fine in ADF Faces. This is a generic problem in the Faces spec - there's no way to add a renderer in all RenderKits.
I'll get a FAQ item added for this issue.

CS4 Updater not working on Lion?

Hi all,
Not positive where this post goes in this massive Adobe forum... but since I use Photoshop the most, thought I'd try here first.
I have Adobe Web Design Premium CS4. I had been running it in Mac OSX Snow Leopard. I just changed hard drives, installed Mac OSX Lion, and completely re-installed CS4 on the new drive. (I DID remember to deactivate CS4 on the old hard drive).
So now I have the original version of CS4. I have tried to update CS4 to the most recent versions and the updater keeps telling me I already have the most recent version... though I don't. I have the x.0 version that came on the original disks. The updater updated various components of the software several times on the old drive, but now it thinks I am up to date with the new installation on the new drive.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, but the above was unavailable, as the install button would not show up. So having spent some hours on the internet trying to fix the problem I came across this: And it worked. CS4 / Dreamweaver etc running like a dream again. So if you are tempted by Lion, this might be of use for all those Adobe things you need to run! It was simple, and fixed all Adobe problems. (which is caused by Lion not having Java Runtime within it).

Importing custom components

I just downloaded and installed Update 5 and now I cannot import my custom component.
The new update requires the component packaged as a Component Library File with comlib?? extension. I tried to find any docs on the new packaging scheme but couldnt find any. Can anyone on the creator team please supply the info?

Error in updating custom database table using UPDATE SET Command

Hi,
I developed an automated collection system program in one of our clients simulating FBE1 (Payment Advice Creation) and F-28 (Posting of Incoming Payments) transaction codes. Upon posting, we encountered an error in PRD server wherein, for some of the posted items, the STATUS field in our custom table was not successfully updated. We tried to reverse the clearing document and debug the program. Upon posting, we were able to successfully update the status. We could not simulate the error in QAS since all the postings in QAS were successful and all status' relating to these postings were updated as well. We tried posting multiple times and the program seems to be working fine. In PRD, this behavior is just random and there is no specific pattern as to how the error occured. Provided below is the code I used for updating custom table ZFIACSF28. The STATUS field should be equal to '4' once the posting is successful. We are not sure if this is a database related issue. 7 users are authorized to do the postings in PRD and they are using the same user account.

it's not possible that status isn't updated in zfiacsf28 while date and time are updated there, because it's hard coded.
There must be other programs that also change your table zfiacsf28 and maybe clear those fields. Maybe the key fields zor and customer cannot provide duplicate access, what is the meaning of field zor ?
Please check the where used list of table zfiacsf28 to find other update programs.

Issue with SSIS Custom Components - 64 bit SQL 2012

Hello All,
Our SSIS packages built on SQL 2008 R2 make use of some custom components. These custom components are installed as part of an MSI. The dll's are copied over to the Windows/assemble [GAC Folder] and also to the Program Files(x86)/SQL Server/110/DTS/* folder.
The installation does not copy the dll's to the 64 bit program files folder.
X:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS
These packages are executed via SQL Agent jobs on a 64 bit SQL server and there does not seem be any issue.
Now we are upgrading our servers to SQL 2012 and we have a new installer for the custom components as well. The new custom components use .NET Framework 4.0 and when installed the dll files get copied over to the Ms.NET 32 bit runtime GAC folder and also
to the SQL Server DTS Folder in x86. The upgraded packages work only when we set the runtime mode to 32 bit. The packages successfully executes within the 32 bit dtexec utility, but when we try to run the same package using a 64 bit dtexec utility the
process errors out with a component failed to load message. The package moves data between two SQL Server instances.
The custom components have always been built for 32 bit runtime. I can run a older package through the dtexec utility (from the 64 bit folder in program files) and it does work without any issues. After the upgrade the package will only execute on
a 32 bit utility. can someone help me understand this issue?

i think we got the answer as well, as the .NET framework 3.0 installer copied the files over to the C:\windows assembly the dtexec utility [32 bit/64 bit] was able to load the components.
Now with the new installer the files are copied to specific runtime gac folders as Arthur has mentioned. The 64 bit utility does not find the dlls in the GAC whereas the 32 bit version will find them.

Impact of Updating Customer Name in existing Open Sales Orders

Hello,
There's a requirement to update an existing Customer Name which we can very well do via API but what we tested the impact on :
Sales Order in 'Entered status'
Sales Order in 'Booked status'
Sales Order in 'Shipped status'
Sales Order in 'Closed status'
Sales Order in 'Cancelled status'
and the customer information was updated in all the above scenarios.
The question/doubt I have is:
1) Does the change in Customer Name has an impact in other modules like Service Contracts etc (In other words is the change reflected there automatically?)
2) For an Sales Order in Shipped status with an Old customer Name and if we now change the customer name, will there be any impact in AR?
To summarize will just changing the 'Customer Name' from 'Recievables' ensure that the change is flowed to all modules or is there a chance that somewhere in some module Customer Name is not in sync??
Please come with suggestions/solutions/alternatives ...

You are correct, but for my question I am changing customer name at Recievables not in a Sales Order.
When I change a Customer Name from Recievables it replaces all existing 'in-process' sales order with the new updated customer name(note that I am just updating the name thereby party_id etc columns remains the same...) in whatever Status it is.
So my question was:
1) Does the change in Customer Name has an impact in other modules like Service Contracts etc (In other words is the change reflected there automatically?)

I have an application (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT) of component FPM_OIF_COMPONENT which uses a Webdynpro component with the same name (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT). This Webdynpro component (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT) uses 2 other components (HAP_DOCUMENT_BODY and HAP_DOCUMENT_HEADER).
For my client requirement, i need to create the custom components by copying from standard components as the UI layout changes are quiet huge and not manageable with the enhancements. To accomodate this i have changed the standard configurations by replacing the standard web dynpro components with the custom ones copied. Apart fomr this there are no changes to the standard.
While trying to access the application, i am getting the error as Null object reference. the details of the error is as below. Please advice.

How are you able to configure Custom Web dynpro application to Appraisal document instead of HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT. could you please share the steps. We have created custom application a copy of HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT and the other two webdynpro components are also copied.
We dont know how to link this to Appraisal template. BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL is used to change application names for BSP application. How to change application name for Web dynpro ABAP. Please share the stpes which will help us

BAPI to update customer details

I tried BAPI_CUSTOMER_CHANGEFROMDATA1, imported to XI. But it has the following Parameter Names and corresponding Associated Types respectively:
PI_PERSONALDATA, PI_PERSONALDATAX, PI_OPT_PERSONALDATA, PI_OPT_PERSONALDATAX, PI_COMPANYDATA, PI_COMPANYDATAX, PI_OPT_COMPANYDATA, PI_OPT_COMPANYDATAX
BAPIKNA101_1, BAPIKNA101_1X, BAPIKNA105, BAPIKNA105X, BAPIKNA106,BAPIKNA106X, BAPIKNA105, BAPIKNA105X.
For the above 8, I am getting following message in XI: Schema for type urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions: BAPIKNA106 (Category Data Type) not found
2) SD_CUSTOMER_MAINTAIN_ALL
It is not Remote-enabled module
3) BAPI_CUSTOMER_EDIT
I dont I can update details of the customer...I am not sure...Because it has only Customer ID in request parameters....If I want to change name or address...how would I send them in Request to BAPI??

Need to update custom fields in MSEG table using "BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE"

Issue in Updating Customer specific fields in WBS using BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI

Hi Experts,
I am able to create the WBS element using BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI.But the issue is i am not able to update customer specific fields even after passing the fields as per specification in Function module documentation. I have also created an implementation of BADI as per below specification in FM documentation:
Procedure for Filling Standard Enhancements
Before you call the BAPI for each object that is to be created or changed,
for which you want to enter customer-specific table enhancement fields, add a
data record to the container ExtensionIn:
STRUCTURE: Name of the corresponding help structure
VALUEPART1: Key of the object + start of the data part
VALUEPART2-4: If required, the continuation of the data part
VALUPART1 to VALUPART4 are therefore filled consecutively, first with the
keys that identify the table rows and then with the values of the
customer-specific fields. By structuring the container in this way, it is
possible to transfer its content with one MOVE command to the structure of the
BAPI table extension.
Note that when objects are changed, all fields of the enhancements are
overwritten (as opposed to the standard fields, where only those fields for
which the respective update indicator is set are changed). Therefore, even if
you only want to change one field, all the fields that you transfer in
ExtensionIn must be filled.
Checks and Further Processing
Using the methods ...CREATE_EXIT1 or. ...CHANGE_EXIT1 of the BAdI
BAPIEXT_BUS2001, BAPIEXT_BUS2002, and BAPIEXT_BUS2054, you can check the entered
values (and/or carry out other checks).
In the BAdI's second method, you can program that the data transferred to the
BAPI is processed further (if you only want to transfer the fields of the CI
includes, no more action is required here).
But still i am unable to update fields though i am able to create WBS with rest of the fields except custom fields.
I am using attached code to achieve this.Do we need to code anything inside method create_exit1 or create_exit2 implementation for BADI or

Hi Rahul,
First observation from your code is that i could not find the assignment for the field
GWA_WBS_EXTIN-STRUCTURE. I hope you are not filling this field, that could be one reason for failure. Try to do it and let us know if you still have the problem.

Generating a clientId for Custom Components

I am creating a custom component that will be made up of smaller form elements and maybe even smaller custom components. Does JSF provide the mechanism for generating the clientId for each of these components and thier sub-components.
What I don't want to do is this:
writer.writeAttribute("name", clientId + "_id" + subComponentCounter++);
...

I got that part. But what if your component has sub-components. Do you just name them whatever you want? I know that you could. But what if they are dynamically generated? And what if your sub-components have sub-components.
So for example:
Custom Control: Shipping Form
|_Custom Control: Name Form
| |_TextBox: First Name
| |_TextBox: Last Name
|_Custom Control: Address Form
|_TextBox: Street
|_TextBox: City
|_TextBox: State
|_TextBox: Postal Code

Not Updating Customized Table when System having Performance Issue

Hi,
This is actually the same topic as "Not Updating Customized Table when System having Performance Issue" which is posted last December by Leonard Tan regarding the user exit EXIT_SAPLMBMB_001.
Recently we changed the program function module z_mm_save_hide_qty to update task. However this causes more data not updated. Hence we put back the old version (without the update task). But now it is not working as it used to be (e.g. version 1 - 10 records not updated, version 2 with update task - 20 records not updated, back to version 1 - 20 records not updated).
I tried debugging the program, however whenever I debugged, there is nothing wrong and the data is updated correctly.
Please advise if anyone has any idea why is this happening. Many thanks.

Hi Janet,
you are right. This is a basic rule not to do any COMMIT or RFC calls in a user exit.
Have a look at SAP note 92550. Here they say that exit EXIT_SAPLMBMB_001 is called in the update routine MB_POST_DOCUMENT. And this routine is already called in UPDATE TASK from FUNCTION 'MB_UPDATE_TASKS' IN UPDATE TASK.
SAP also tells us not to do any updates on SAP system tables like MBEW, MARD, MSEG.
Before the exit is called, now they call 'MB_DOCUMENT_BADI' with methods MB_DOCUMENT_BEFORE_UPDATE and MB_DOCUMENT_UPDATE. Possibly you have more success implementing the BADI.
I don't know your situation and goal so this is all I can tell you now.
