CS6 - full stop (.) replaced by percent sign (%)

Using CS6 (ME version) on OS X and when typing a full stop with Arabic keyboard selected, a percent sign in substituted. This happens on both existing documents and newly created documents. Font is Abobe Arabic and works with other text programmes.
Typing into other text fields with Arabic keyboard selected accurately inserts the full stop.

On Mac please go to InDesign>Preferences>Advanced Type and turn off "Use Native Digits When Typing in Arabic Scripts" option.

Full Stop Replaced with UnderScore when downloading

I've been having an issue download files from IE9.
1. Any file i download has the full stop replaced with an underscore before the file extension.
2. Some downloads try downloading a PHP file instead of th requested file.
3. The Download prompt bar remains on the screen, until i click Open or Save. Cancel does not remove the download bar.
4. The first attempt always fails and reports that the file couldn't be downloaded and i have to click retry for every file.
I have tried removing and re-installing IE and running with Add-ons disabled but still having the same issue.
Any help, suggestions or solutions would be appreciated.

I still think diagnosis may be required but it appears that a workaround has been found.
In another thread a safe mode boot was found to be a workaround, doubling my conviction that diagnosis would be required.

FWIW my guess for that one would be the user's AV package. <eg>
In fact, perhaps that interferer would step out of the way when Protected Mode is unchecked? Etc.

Full stop sign on Sony Aino

When doing any writing on my Aino and needing a full stop symbol, I press button 1 where the common symbols are available in sequence. On my other phones the first one up was always the full-stop followed by the comma in second place. However on this phone it always gives me the '&' symbol first which is really annoying as I rarely need it and it delays me getting to the full-stop. Is there any way I change permanently change the sequence please? Many thanks.

Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working - has issue been resolved?

Hello.
I am experiencing the above problem with a new install of CS6.
Has this issue been resolved?
CS6 Design and Web Premium installed on Win 7 pro 64 bit Dell Precision laptop. Error with Adobe Bridge cs6: "Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working", problem event name "APPCRASH". Error occurs when opening Bridge from Photoshop and other apps (Browse in Bridge) and directly from desktop or start menu. Also a cache directory is not being created under c:\user\<user>\appdata\roaming\adobe\bridge\. Holding ctrl key down and double clicking icon gets same message, cannot get at reset window.
Performed the following with no change: verified Bridge and full suite is on latest version (Bridge=5.0.2.4); created desktop icon directly from bridge.exe; verified application was installed and is starting with administrator privileges; verified latest display driver installed; performed complete uninstall of CS6, CC cleaner tool run, then full reinstall; Error under Event Viewer: faulting application: Bridge.exe and faulting module name: ntdll.dll; disabled UAC; tested memory for damage using MemTest86-good.

A follow up to the above.
There appears to be a number of possible causes for this type of error. In my case it was somewhat specific. I had a stand alone copy on this same machine previously of Adobe Photoshop CS2 (only) which was completely uninstalled prior to the installation of CS6. There is an issue with Bridge CS6 being installed on a machine that has Bridge CS2 on it. I wasn't aware of Bridge being present with my copy of Photoshop CS2 but apparently there were at least some components of Bridge CS2 left after the uninstall. The workaround that solved the issue for me was the creation of an empty folder:
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS2

On my new Dell XPS 8500 Win 8 computer Photoshop CS6 keeps stopping working. I've tried both 64-bit and 32-bit versions and updated the video driver after phoning Dell. Also installed latest Adobe program updates. I keep getting the error message "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Any solutions? I'm losing a terrible amount of time!

Yes, I do have a discrete video card with my main monitor plugged into that. I enabled multiscreen in the BIOS so I could plug in my second screen into the internal VGA port (both older monitors from my previous pc). I was previously getting an error when I opened Photoshop which said "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware. Check out the manufacturer's website for the latest software... etc..." which is why I contacted Dell to update the driver. They have a list of drivers for my system and suggested I try the first 3 in order. The first 2 wouldn't install but the third did and although the display driver error has disappeared now, Photoshop keeps crashing.
My version of Photoshop is CS6 13.0.1 x64

Indesign cs6 has stopped working and needs to close in windows 8

We have Adobe InDesign CS6 installed on 2 different computers and on both computers it frequently crashes saying "cs6 has stopped working" and closes the application. Restarting it ok for a while and then the same thing happens. We have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail, no other Adobe products are installed.

Can pages be set to full stop with a double space tap

In text replacement (System Preferences > Keyboard > Text), one cannot use a leading space in the Replace column, thus eliminating double-space as a character replacement combination. Depending on the internationality of your keyboard, there may be alternative tandem characters that when configured in the text replacement facility — will offer a full-stop as replacement.
I do not use third-party tools for text or keyboard mapping, so cannot comment on that viability for your goal.

Photoshop CS6 upgrade won't let me sign in. When it's getting ready to download, after I put in my seriel number it asks me to sign in however when I push the button I get a window that says "Adobe Application Manager has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." and makes me close the program.

Try to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

Arabic full stop appears in front

Hi I use CS InDesign 6. With world ready paragrapher composer, I can copy and paste Arabic text in CS6. But the full stop always appears in front of the last line. Not at the end. Any idea how to fix it?
It's a pain to use a separate text box and put full stop in the right place manually.

There are a variety of ways to make this work for you. I am assuming that you are using English-language ID and don't even know that there is an entirely separate Middle East Edition that gives you complete typographical control over right-to-left languages. The World-Ready Composer lets the letters of individual words compose correctly, but you need to turn on right-to-left paragraph direction - and there are no controls for same in non-ME editions of InDesign.
So, unless you decide to go out and buy a whole separate license for the ME edition, your options are:
1) Buy a plugin that exposes the RTL type controls. I always recommend World Tools from in-tools.com, because it exposes stuff in the ME edition as well as the CJK edition (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) in generic English InDesign. This is the best price-performance ratio, I think, for money spent to typographical control gained.
2) Use a script or a template that already has those settings for right-to-left paragraph flow activated. If you search Google for "world-ready paragraph composer" you can find a few of those. I don't have a link on hand. They're out there, and they're free, but if you need to do something fancy (hanging indents, kashidas, LTR Arabic numerals for phone numbers and Hindi numerals for everything else, lots of bilingual sentences with frequent direction flow changes, and so on) you probably need either the ME edition or a plugin. You can do it with freely available character styles (or you can write 'em yourself if you know some Javascript) but I have found that to be a time-consuming way to work.
3) But if all you need is one paragraph of legible Arabic... then you can start a new text frame, go to the Type menu, and hold down control and choose "Fill with Placeholder Text" and, instead of getting lorem ipsum, you'll get a dropdown menu that will let you pick fake text in a variety of scripts. If you pick Arabic, you'll get correctly flowing Arabic text with the right paragraph direction applied.

Full Stop/Period turned into circle

I can't enter a full stop/period into text. One day "double space bar" produced a small circle instead of ".". I cannot insert via symbol keyboard or via "double space bar". My messages look wrong and I cannot enter email addresses as can't produce the fullstop/period. Please tell me how to fix. Thank you.

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

When typing an email I need each new sentence to automaticaaly start with a capital letter. At present after a full stop the new sentence automatically starts with a lower case letternot an upper case one

When typing an email new sentences do not automatically start with a capital letter after a full stop.
Surely this should happen automatically without the need for me to touch the capital letter icon.

Either you didn't actually call Apple, and got some tech support scammer instead (calling the first number that pops up on a Google search for "Apple support" can give you some bad numbers), or the Apple tech you spoke to didn't know what he's talking about. It's not a virus.
As for the problem, if you have enabled auto-capitalization and the problem continues, first try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.

First use CS6 menu Help>About Photoshop to check your version. The Latest perpetual versions are Mac version 13.0.6, Windows version 13.0.1.3 and the subscription version is 13.1.2. If you do no see one of these versions you need to use menu Help>Updates. If that does not update you to one of those version you may need to re-install CS6 on top of of your current install and use menu Help>Updates. CS6 is the buggiest version of Photoshop ever releases. You need the updates without the updates CS6 is very unstable.
If your CS6 is up to date use your Windows Acclivity Center Reliability History to locate your CS6 critical stopped working events and look at their details to see where CS6 is crashing. This may shed some light on your problem. CS6 use you Display adapters GPU for some features. If you have more then one GPU or you don't have the latest displaye adapter system device driver from its manufacturer installed CS6 may crash.

How do I get iTunes to stop asking me to sign in? I will never buy from iTunes so there is no point in me signing in. A year ago I bought a couple of albums off iTunes but I was sorely disappointed that I did not have the hard copy and album art in a physical form. That made me resolve to only buy music (or any content) in solid form and from the artist themselves if possible. And this is not to mention the proprietary format of iTunes music which basically makes every purchase a lease and not an ownership. So with that said, it is very annoying that iTunes on start-up asks me to sign in, not once, but TWICE. For such a little thing, you would think it would be infuriating. But alas, I'm very tired of being bullied and that is all it is to me. ITunes is a marketing BULLY. I'll stop now before I start in on all the explicatives I can think of for iTunes Store.

You do own the actual CD, but for the music, all you are purchasing is a license to use it (a lease) in accordance with that license.

Email will not send to email address with a full stop within the name as it drops the last name ie jim.smith@.... changes to jim@....

I am trying to reply or send a email to a email address that has a full stop in the username ie [email protected] When the email sends it drops the surname ie [email protected] I have checked the address from the reply and it is correct even if I type it in it still has the same issue.
