CScript Error

I'm assisting a customer with the Critical Patch Update. When they attempt to run command line cscript //nologo install.js an CScript Error message pops-up stating execution on Windows Script Host failed. <Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.>
We checked the hard drive and there's more than enough space to run this operation. Any assistance is GREATLY aprreciated.

Problem resolved. Typo error.

  • Unable to run cscript, not enough memory

When I try to run cscript over a network. I get CScript Error: Initialization of the Windows Script Host failed. (Not enough storage is available to process this command. )
However there is more than enough memory, 5 GB free. This works when I try to run it manually.
    cscript test.vbs
    test.vbs has
    WScript.Echo "Hello"
It can run locally just fine, but fails when I try to run it via jenkins.

CScript (WSH) has remoting but it is not enabled on any system by default.
Perhaps you would say what you are trying to do?
    PowerShell also has remoting available.
You cannot use any of these to display a message remotely.  There are network utilities that fan be installed that wil do that.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Getting Access is Denied when Running Script in OSD Task Sequence

I am attempting put in a script that will move the computer account to the proper OU in AD.  I have the script but when it launches inside of the TS I get "CScript Error: Loading script "C:\_SMSTaskSequence\WDPackage\Scripts\MoveOU.vbs" failed
    (Access is denied. )."
I am using the Run Command Line, and using the "Run this step as the following account"  I have verified that the account has access to do what I need it to do in AD.  I have attached the logs as well.

    "You can't fix stupid!"

I'm having the exact same issue.  I'm using AutoIT for my script to move the computer account.  I've tried using ADO, LDAP, and LDAP/ADSystemInfo object.  They all fail with access denied.  In fact the ADO version of my script fails just
trying to create the "ADODB.Connection" object which I know for a fact doesn't require elevation or administrator access.  However, all three versions of the script work correctly when run manually outside the TS.  They also work correctly on XP
machines during OSD.  Only when deploying a Win7 machine do they fail during the TS.  I've tried adding the runas user to the local administrators group beforehand but no dice.  Did you have to restart the computer after doing the net localgroup
change?  There has to be some other security config in Win7 that is set somewhere doing this.  I just can't figure out what.  I've even started looking at DCOM/COM permissions to see if something isn't right there.
I don't see why but maybe the script needs to be run locally?  Any other ideas?

  • Scheduled Task to run as Local System cannot access the Netlogon Share in Windows 8.1

I've created a Scheduled Task that is setup to run as the local System Account which uses cscript.exe to execute a VBScript residing on the Domain Netlogon Share. It works perfectly on Windows 7, but fails miserably on Windows 8.1. When I open a command
prompt as the System account and try to run the script from the Netlogon share manually, I get the following error:
CScript Error: Loading script \\<FullyQualifiedomainName>\Netlogon\xyz.vbs failed (The account used is a computer account. Use your global user account or local user account to access this server. ).
Is there something different I need to set in Windows 8 to get this to run?
    Thank you!!
    Eric Myers

    Hi Eric,
What's the result of Arnav's question?
How did you set it? Please set it as the following steps:
1.Go to Start > Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler
2.In the Task Scheduler window double click your task, and on the "General" tab, under "Security options" section,  click the "Change User or Group" button.
4.Make sure "From this location" is set to the local machine name (to change click "Locations" button and select the local computer name)
5.Type "SYSTEM" in the text box and press ok . Under "When running the task, use the following user account:" you should see "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM".

  • CScript.exe error while creating DB through OMPM 2010

    Hello,
I am trying to create a new database through OMPM 2010. While executing the CreateDB.bat file following error message is coming up:
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe
    R6034
I've tried various solutions available on internet but none of em are working. Please let me know how can I resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Shikhar

To fix the Runtime Error! R6034, try this:
Full-Scan harddisk through antivirus software tool to remove your system virus
Try to run it in Windows safe mode.
    Remove the following registry entry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellExecuteHooks\{AEB6717E-7E19-11d0-97EE-00C04FD91972},

AH HA!!!! I found the answer! For future issues, I found the answer in the link below. Long story short, Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service was causing sysprep to fail. Had to disable the service, ran sysprep again and all was happy happy. Leave it to Microcrap to break their own products. Thanks for the help Anders!! I really appreciate it!

  • Dreaded "Operations Manager failed to start a process" error (2012 R2)

I know this error has been covered many times, and on many topics, but this time mine is slightly different.   It's
    NOT the
"SCOMpercentageCPUTimeCounter" error covered by Kevin Holman.
Also, I am running SCOM 2012 R2 UR4 (7.1.10226.1046) and everything seems correctly patched (MS and agents), like
suggested by Nicole Welch and Kevin Holman as well.
So my environment is a fresh installation of SCOM 2012 R2, and I am transferring to this new Management Group, the monitored servers from our old SCOM 2012 "R1" (which I did not upgrade but rather made a brand new independent install).  So
all servers aren't migrated yet, but I would like to solve this error before. This error did NOT happen in "R1", nor was it overridden (I imported the exact same Management Packs anyway).
On 2012 R2, it happens on almost all new monitored machines, mainly Read-Only Domain Controllers (RODCs).
Here is the kind of alert text I am getting:
Het om 10:10:15 gestarte proces is beëindigd als gevolg van een uitvoerverzamelfout als gevolg van fout 0x80070057 :
    The parameter is incorrect.
; mogelijk zijn er gegevens verloren gegaan.
    Opdracht die is uitgevoerd: "C:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe" //nologo "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent\Agent\Health Service State\Monitoring Host Temporary Files 193\24788\AD_Global_Catalog_Search_Response.vbs"
    RODC02.mydomain.be (objectCategory=DMD) false 4 {9E253FCB-8AAF-491F-CCA3-E632C6C2800C}
    Werkmap: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent\Agent\Health Service State\Monitoring Host Temporary Files 193\24788\
Dit is van invloed op een of meer werkstromen.
    Werkstroomnaam: Microsoft.Windows.Server.2008.AD.DomainController.GCSearchTime.Monitor
    Exemplaarnaam: RODC02
Our servers have Belgian (Dutch) regional settings, hence the language. But check out the highlighted info in bold.
The related event Number (in Alert Context) is 21404. Most other articles about this, mention 21402 or 21403. I suppose they all must be related but still, it's a new one here.
There you have the failing VBS file. I checked all alerts and there seem to be different files concerned overall. Other examples:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent\Agent\Health Service State\Monitoring Host Temporary Files 233\22737\AD_Database_and_Log.vbs    (from almost all RODCs)
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent\Agent\Health Service State\Monitoring Host Temporary Files 196\19876\Microsoft.Windows.Server.Legacy.FreeSpace.vbs
      (also from an RODC)
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Server\Health Service State\Monitoring Host Temporary Files 5891\338282\Microsoft.Windows.Server.CPUUtilization.Monitortype.vbs 95 15
SCOM02.mydomain.be 1.4119384288787842     (this one is from my second Management Server..)
Repeat count of the alert is 1 to 2 a day, so it's not nightmareish, but still, requires to be fixed. I suspect that even if there is a different VBS file concerned, since the eventID and the alert text are the same, the repeat count will just increase,
not showing the last actual VBS concerned.
I connect to each of these servers, and browse to the directory containing the file, and the folder is there, the file is there.  The error text mentions incorrect parameters but they still seem OK to me.
I found something which might be worth noting:  when browsing to the directory, be it on an RODC or on the SCOM server, I get a permission popup requiring some admin rights to do so - although I am using my domain admin (+SCOM+SQL+local
    admin everywhere) account:
SCOM services use the Local System account to run, on every machine. I thought Local System shouldn't be concerned with these permissions popups, but normally the domain/local admins aren't either, yet I am.
The "Health service" folder is the only one from the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent\Agent" folder to be concerned with this; I can browse without trouble to any other directory there.
After a SCOM service stop, I renamed the "Health Service state" folder (as you can see on the screenshot, there is a "Health Service State bak" folder) and let the service recreate it after a restart, to ensure it was clean and with
appropriate permissions , but it doesn't help.
    Might that be a clue?
Or else what?  I'm getting confused and don't find a suitable solution.

  • Error launching Infoview on Windows 2003 R2 SP2 64 bits

    In our Lab, just installed BO XI 3.1 on a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 32 bits AND a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 64 bits servers.
When launching Infoview on the 64 bits server, I get the following error message:
    Server Error in '/InfoViewApp' Application
    Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this applicationprevent the details of the application error from being viewed.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on the local server machine, please create <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application....
I did modify the web.config file for the tag: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"/>
When accessing Infoview after the change, I get:
    Server Error in '/InfoViewApp' Application
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSI {E063B04A-CB8B-460E-99D0-F7D8FA2FAAA2} failed due to the following error: 80040154
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Pleas review the stack trace....
I don't have any problems accessing Infoview on my 32 bits server. Same installation procedure.
I uninstalled BO on my 64 bits server and reinstalled without solving my problem.
Any ideas or experience with 64 bits envir.?
Thanks for any advice, suggestions. Wondering if I should just be going with 32 bits but we're trying to go with as many 64 bits servers in the field.
    Regards

    Denis,
You pointed me in the right direction. Found something in the DB knowledge of  SAP (with some patience..).
I'm not too sure if it's the article ID but here's what show up next to the title: 1326978
    Mainly, here's the solution:
    Symptom
How to configure XI 3.1 with Win2003 64-bit using IIS
When navigating to InfoView, user receives "Server Error" message.
Server Error in '/businessobjects/Enterprise115/InfoView' Application.  -- displayed for XIR2
Server Error in '/InfoViewApp/ Application.  -- displayed for XI 3.x
    Reproducing the Issue
Issue could occur in any 32-bit version of XI (XIR2 and XI 3.x) that supports 64 bit windows 2003 operating systems
    Cause
While newer versions of XIR2 and XI 3.x are supported on 64 bit OS's they do not currently support 64 bit .net
    Resolution
XI 3.1 is a 32-bit application and InfoView/CMC cannot run while IIS is in 64-bit mode.  In addition, IIS cannot run in both 32-bit and 64-bit modes simultaneously.  Follow these steps to change IIS to run in 32-bit mode and unregister/register the correct IIS app pools.
Open the windows command prompt and do the following:
    To disable 64-bit .NET 2.0:
    cd C:\windows\microsoft.net\Framework64\v2.0.50727
    aspnet_regiis /u
To enable IIS to run in 32-bit mode:
    cd C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts
    cscript adsutil.vbs SET W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 1
    To enable 32-bit .NET 2.0:
    cd \WINDOWS\microsoft.net\Framework\v2.0.50727
    aspnet_regiis /i
In IIS manager under Web Service Extensions:
ASP.NET v2.0.50727 (32-bit) (The new one that appeared when you enabled 32-bit .NET 2.0) Set  to Allow.
ASP.NET v2.0.50727 (the 64-bit version that has been there since you installed .NET 2.0 framework) If it is still listed, Set to Prohibit.
Restart IIS (via Windows command prompt)
    iisreset
I am now able to get to the login screen of InfoView but I'm missing the type of authentication field (Enterprise, Windows AD)
I'll take a look early tomorrow.
    Thanks again.

  • Windows 7 64-bit 0xC004E003 error when validating registration code

I am the original owner (2010-03-31) of an ASUS K0IJ laptop that came with Windows 7 64-bit pre-installed.
Windows 7 has run properly for almost exactly two years.  As of this afternoon, I suddenly began receiving "This copy of Windows is not genuine" errors.  Yes, errors  — I am the original and legitimate owner of this computer and
its OEM disc.  I also ran the registration process when I first purchased the computer.
Running WindowsActivationUpdate.exe did not correct this problem.
In Computer —> Properties —> Windows Activation, the "Supply a Different Activation Key" tool will not accept the original OEM license key that has worked for two years.
If instead I try using the other W7 serial number I have for this computer, I receive the aforementioned 0xC004E003 error.  Moreover, the process does not offer me any other working options such as phone registration: I instead get caught in a "site
loop" where I am referred around and around in a circle to the same set of three or so unhelpful pages.
The MGAdiag.exe tool returned the following:
    ------ Begin MGAdiag.exe output ------

At the risk of stating the obvious, I'm not only frustrated, I'm angry. I am the original owner of this computer which I purchased from a legitimate dealer, and the computer is running the instance of Windows 7 64-bit that came with it.
Why is Microsoft subjecting me  to this insult and aggravation?
    Sincerely,
    sfosparky

Are you reading the activation key correctly? Did you call Microsoft or Asus and ask them about the problem. You can also set the laptop back to factory specs (But will lose everything you put on it after you bought it) and it should self activate. I'd be
on the phone to Asus and if that doesn't help call Microsoft.
Found the following on the internet.
The problem appears to be in the Licensing Store - please try the following.....
Recreate the Licensing Store with the correct data.
1)Go to the SYSTEM32 folder on the C drive
    2)C:/Windows/System32
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    9) Type: net start slsvc
    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
    11) Restart your computer twice.
You may be asked to enter your COA Key and/or Activate. – if asked for the Key, use the one on your COA sticker on the machine’s case

  • Error to execute the script through command prompt

I tried to execute the script through command prompt. I got some following error. Could you please advice me how to rectify this.
    cscript D:\JS\Test.js
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.6
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1996-2001. All rights reserved.
D:\JS\Test.js(1, 1) Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'app' is undefined.
    Thanks,
    Prabudass

I haven't use CS for quite some time and file associations may not work with the command prompt.
You can try using Windows Explorer to browse to a .js file then right click on that file. From the popup menu choose Open With. Even if you see Photoshop in the file list choose Browse at the bottom. Browse to Photoshop and make sure to check 'Always use selected program...'
If that doesn't work you will need to create an action that runs your script and make a droplet from that action. You can then use the droplet in the command prompt. You may also need to create a 'dummy' image file to launch the droplet with if you script doesn't require an open document at startup. See http://www.ps-scripts.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=967

  • CLIENT_HOST error in forms

    Hi ,
I am calling CLIENT_HOST command in forms in linux machine and passing an exe file as the parameter, but this client_host command is showing the below error on execution :
CLIENT_HOST command is part of WEBUTIL.pll file and this file is attached to the form as well.
Command executed on click of button:

    ERROR shown:

Error occured: ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called ORA-01403:no data found
Can someone help in this regard ? it is bit urgent.
    Regds,
    noneda

Most likely, the Window Script Host (cscript.exe) isn't finding a script engine for the .txt file extension. What are you trying to accomplish with this Client_Host call and what is text.txt suppose to do?
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

The first one is to use a tool called “nvspscrub.js”. Download nvspscrub.js then from cmd run: “cscript nvspscrub.js”, this will delete all vswitches, virtual NICs in the parent partition and will unbind the switch protocol from all physical NICs.
This script aborts when a class turns up undefined.  Maybe this old script applies solely to Windows Server 2008.  Dunno.

  • Error after SSL Certificat update

    I updated the SSL certificate on a Win2003 SP2 server with IIS6.0
The initial certificat was a single URL certificate and is replaced by a wildcard one.
After installing the certificate (and it's CA chain) using the mmc I changed the certificate in IIS and configured the SSLBinding using "cscript.exe

It seems that the key for the wild card certificate has not been found. The output shows a valid key for the other cert. ("1") but no key information for the wild card cert ("0"). I assume, that when you double-click the certificate in
the computer's Personal store you don't see the message You have a Private Key...
(on the bottom of the General tab), right?
Windows 2003 sometimes needed some extra effort to "connect" key and certificate, in addition to just importing it (I am assuming that you imported it to the machine where you had created the key).
Check if the command line tool certutil is available. If not, install the W2K3 admin pack (download e.g.
    here).
Double-click the new server certificate, go to Details...
Scroll down the list of attributes and locate the Serial Number. Copy the serial number value.
At the command shell run as a local admin:
    certutil -repairstore my "<Serial Number>"
If this has been successful you should now see the message You have a Private Key... when double-clicking the certificate.

  • Installing agent - "VBScript runtime error" on Windows server

    Hi all,
I am installing the agent (10.2.0.2.0) on another one of my Windows Oracle servers - this is about the 10th one I've done, and I am doing it no differently than all the others.
I download the wget.exe utility, put it in the path somewhere (usually put it under e:\oracle\ora92\bin), then download the agentDownload.vbs script from the Grid server. Then, when I issue the command to start the installation:
    cscript agentDownload.vbs b e:\oracle m ourserver.ourdomain.com r 4889
and I am getting this error (2 different lines):
    e:\oracle
agentDownload.vbs(476, 2) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method: 'currentdirectory'
Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
    Thanks,
    Brad

    Whats your defualt directory?
can you try by putting wget in the beggining of windows path variable.
