Css error message

When I check browser compatibility in DW4, I get the message "Found 1 errors in Main.css".  How can I track down that single error when there's no other indication of what it is or where it might be other than in the Main.css folder?

IMO Browser compatibility checking is not very helpful.
Use the W3C validation tools.  They show you which code isn't valid and why.  Valid code is the first step to good cross browser results.
Code Validation Tools
CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
That said, there are numerous exceptions. If you use newer CSS level 3 properties or zoom to help IE, the CSS validation checker will send up red flags.  But that's OK as long as you KNOW you're breaking rules and why.

What does "NETMAN-2: Generic:LINK DOWN for Ethernet-Mgmt" means. When using the error message decoder. I get no reply.
    Thanks,
    DTA

the CSS has a ethernet management port (at the back of the CSS for the CSS11000).
This message indicates that this ethernet port went down.

  • How to increase font size of error message in css or in template?

    Hi all,
Firt time i am working for css modification.I am not able to increase the font size of Error message in Inline in Notification validation at Item level. I am not able to find where i should make change for that in tempalate or in CSS. I know it's very simple question but i am not able to do this simple change.
I created some validation at Item level and page level and in Inline in Notofication want to display the error message.
In error message i am writing code like "
    <a href="#P15_item_name" title="Link to item FIELD">Please Enter value for item name </a>."
but font is very small. can any one help me where i should make changes to make it some biger font.
where exactly i should make changes.?
    Thank You,
    Amit

This is strange. Another css is used, core_V22.css
    Here is the path: htmldb/images/css/
Search for "span.errTxt". It already has a set font-size, so just increase it.
I don't know the exact use of core_V22.css. It seams to be used by other applications, so it may influence them as well. It would be better if you could define another class, but I don't realize yet from where to address it
I hope this helps you Amit
Try to use Firefox with the Firebug add-on installed for easy work with html. I can't see my self without it :-)

  • "Jigsaw" CSS Validator Error Messages, Code Not Found

My page is created in DW CS5.
    The page I'm testing (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/)  is:  www.aloe-vera.org/index.htm
I am getting error messages.  But, when I got to the line of code indicated, the code isn't there.  These are the errors (which I don't understand anyway):
    166
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal iframe
attempt to find a semi-colon before the property name. add it
    0
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal iframe
    Parse Error                                              null
    166
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal iframe
Property opacity doesn't exist in CSS level 2.1 but exists in  : 0.1                                               0.1
    166
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal iframe
    Parse Error                                              0.1);
    167
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal iframe
    Parse Error                                              }
If the code can't be found on the line indicated, where does one find it?
Thanks, David (Honaker, in Phoenix, AZ)

As much as I would push users to that site, there are some parts of the Spry 1.0 framework that cause this type of error to occur.  What Adobe did was include "hacks", for lack of a better term, to make the Spry as compatible as they could in older versions of IE.  They did this knowing that the code would note validate.  It appears with some other Spry items as well.  I do not believe the 2.0 Spry Widgets (in the Widget Browser) have this same code validation issue.
The only validation error on that page that I would worry about is the one on your index.htm with the ul.nav a, ul.nav a:visited background attribute.  The hex color can be written shorthand (3 characters) or full length (6 characters).  Yours currently is C6580 which is one number short.

  • SNMP related error message on CSS

My customer has seen the following syslog error message appear a few times over the past few weeks:
    OCT 17 14:37:04 1/1 1183 NETMAN-4: ewaNamespaceGet_snmp: unsupported type returned as a result of an Envoy GET: 0x81
I have checked on CCO and done an Internet search but cannot find any information relating to this particular message.
I have suggested putting a sniffer on the same segment as the CSS, that way theycan see packets destined for the CSS with SNMP port number- to see which device(s) are polling the CSS.
Could you please assist in identifying what the message means, and what action (if any) needs to be taken to stop the message recurring.
    Regards,
    ND

    Nim,
actually I just noticed the bug removed some information from the error message but did not suppress it.
This messages appears when using the following function in the GUI : 'Monitor -> Proximity'.
This should not impact the CSS.

    Gilles.

  • 'No Disk' error message on Photoshop startup

Recently I have been receieving the following error message when Photoshop CS6 x64 srtarts up on my Windows 7 machine. Ps resides on my SSD.
I don't always get the message but when I press X, Cancel, Try Again, or Continue the message repeats until finally Ps starts. I'm not sure what drive \Device\Harddisk3\Dr3 is supposed to mean. Does anyone have a clue what Ps is complaining about?

I realize this is a mighty old thread, but I've recently had the same issue with Illustrator CSS 2014, and this is the only thread I could google that dealt with it.
I scratched my head for a while on this, but I think I figured out the issue. At least I think I figured it out on my end. The error comes from the "recently opened" menu as far as I can tell. I had an old external hard-drive that I was browsing some old work on. I unplugged it when done and continued to go along with my newer work the next day. When I attempted to save my newer work in Illustrator, I got the "no disk" message several times, but powered through it with "try  again" till it saved.
I'm thinking the error is just the system bumping the file that I had recently opened and now cannot locate slowly down and eventually off the "recently opened" menu. Not sure why Windows is smart enough to bypass this error sometimes and not others with most portable drives, but perhaps its an issue with how old this drive was, or perhaps because I did not properly eject the drive. Networked drives being connected and not connected may cause a similar issue. Not sure.

  • Error message in adobe digital editions

    Hi.
I am getting this message in Adobe Digital Editions when I open an epub I made
"the document appears to have minor errors that might cause it to be displayed incorrectly"
The epub is displaying fine. I checked in Adobe, Sony, FBReader, and Calibre.
The html and css is valid. No warnings. Perfectly valid. All of it.
Epubcheck gives it no warnings or errors.
Some of the chapter titles in the table of contents are pretty long. Could that be a problem?
I have no idea how else to check it to find out what could be causing this error. Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks.

I had this same problem.  epubcheck that I have on my desktop said no errors, but ADE would give the "minor errors" message.  I put some serious dents in my forehead from pounding it on the desk.
I uploaded my ePUB to http://www.threepress.org/document/epub-validate/ and let it validate against schemas that I don't have and it gave me the clue that I needed.  Because I had exported my book from MS-Word using their awful HTML export and then (through a series of ordeals) converted it to XHTML and cleaned up all the uglies.  But, there was one piece I forgot to fix.  The encoding value in the top-level xml element. It was set to Windows CP1252.  It has to be UTF-8 or UTF-16.  When I changed the encoding, I had to fix some of the quote marks that I had missed in earlier passes.
After making the encoding change and the final cleanup, I now have my book on my nook.
I hope this helps someone else in the future.

  • JavaScript error message

In the middle of using Dreamweaver 8 today, I received
several error messages when trying to open and/or save a file:
    Message #1
    The following javascript error(s) occurred:
    At line 56 of File "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
    8\Configuration\Shared\Common\Scripts\dwscriptsExtData.js"
    ReferenceError: dwscripts is not defined.
    Message #2
While executing onLoad in_onOpen.htm the following JavaScript
    error(s) occurred:
    In file ""_onOpen"":
Reference Error: onOpen is not defined.
    Message #3
The following translators were not loaded due to errors:
ASP.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
ColdFusion.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
JSP.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
PHP_MySQL.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
XSLT.htm: has configuration information that is invalid
XSLTransform.htm: has configuration information that is
    invalid
Message #1 and #2 show up two times when trying to open a
file. Message #3 and then Messages #1 and 2 show when trying to
close a file after changes (it asks first "Save changes..." . . .
if I click on yes, then the error messages occur, but when they are
dismissed by clicking on OK, the file seems to be saved, because
the corrected file is uploaded when using FTP. If I try to save the
changed file by using File>Save As... nothing will happen.
I used the Remove Program function in Control Panel, and then
re-installed Dreamweaver 8 using my Studio 8 CD#1 and following the
Wizard prompts. The files still show in the "local sites: list and
I can open the files (albeit with the error messages above) and the
changed/edited files are still saved and FTP'd to my server. So
from the end-user view, all is OK. But... this is different this
afternoon from how it was working this morning.
Can anyone suggest how I should proceed to make it work
    without the error messages?
    TIA --
    Joyce

Have a read of this article:
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19105
and if that doesn't help you can try this:
    Quit DW.
    Find this folder -
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
    Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
    8\Configuration\WinFileCache-*.dat
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use
    Explorer > Tools >
    Folder Options to unhide them)
Delete it. Restart DW and hopefully you're fixed.
