CSS fix for IE 6.0

Hello,
I need a fix for positioning the layers for IE 6.0.
The site renders beautifully in FF, Safari, IE 7.0, etc. but
it's a mess in IE.
Here's the link:
http://azubel.com/Stage/Donomaq/
Any ideas where's the problem?
Thank you.
Roby

Just so you'll know, there are no layers on that page.
Try changing this -
</head>
to this -
<!--[if lte IE 6]>
<style>
#content { width:715px; }
</style>
<![endif]-->
</head>
and see if that helps.

  • Css fixes for IE not fixing

    I have a webpage which appears ok in Firefox and Safari but
    fails to format correctly in IE.
    www.offalog.co.uk
    I looked at the code generated and found that DW has inserted
    css fixes for IE but these do not seem to work.
    Any clues as to what I should do?

    This method works with simple layouts.  The Behavior url thing needs to go inside an IE Conditional Comment to target Pre-IE9 browsers.
    Also, I prefer to apply this to a Div ID as this carries more weight than .classes alone.

  • [svn] 4806: Fixes for Advanced CSS applying to inner components.

    Revision: 4806
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2009-02-02 21:01:18 -0800 (Mon, 02 Feb 2009)
    Log Message:
    Fixes for Advanced CSS applying to inner components. The changes involved three areas:
    1. mx.styles.StyleProxy needed updating to support IAdvancedStyleClient
    2. mx.styles.StyleProtoChain required refactoring so that advanced selector matching functionality could be shared outside of this class (see next). The main change is in StyleProtoChain.addProperties() which is recursively called to handle the case when styleName is set to another IStyleClient (instead of a String). The change concerns the order of building the proto chain for this special case. Before advanced CSS, it seems we recursively did the following in the addProperties() subroutine:
    - Find type selectors, add to proto chain
    - Examine styleName:
    - if a CSSStyleDeclaration, add it to the proto chain next
    - if a IStyleClient, recurse again by calling addProperties to this IStyleClient
    - if a String, apply class selectors to proto chain
    - Finally, add inline style declarations to proto chain
    Advanced CSS might involve other universal selectors that aren't necessarily class selectors (such as id selectors), or we could have type selectors that are more specific that class selectors. So the new logic for Advanced CSS is:
    - Examine styleName:
    - if a CSSStyleDeclaration, add it to the list of selectors
    - Get all matching selectors, sort by specificity, and add to the proto chain.
    - Then, if styleName was an IStyleClient, recurse again by calling addProperties to this IStyleClient
    - Finally, add inline styleDeclarations to proto chain
    A styleName pointing to an IStyleClient means that it has a very high specificity and will override any other selector. The only thing that continues to always win are inline style declarations which are added last to the proto chain.
    3. mx.core.UIComponent.initThemeColor() needed updating to support advanced CSS selectors. This required the use of a new utility method in StyleProtoChain to find matching selectors.
    QA: Yes, please watch styles test results closely. Take a look at descendant/id/class selectors on more advanced components like DataGrid.

    Hi,
    you define a CSS class in the document, e.g.
    <style type="text/css">
    .myClass{color:red;}
    <style>
    The myClass names now is what you add to the class property

  • [svn] 4756: Bug fix for universal Advanced CSS selectors.

    Revision: 4756
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2009-01-30 07:58:55 -0800 (Fri, 30 Jan 2009)
    Log Message:
    Bug fix for universal Advanced CSS selectors.
    1. In CSS, the universal selector * matches any element. It is often implied in selectors, such as the .foo class selector would formally be written *.foo { }. So, what we were previously calling "global selectors" will now be referred to as universal selectors. Flex retains its own special top level "global" selector to function as the root of the inheriting style prototype chain, but other universal selectors will not be associated with this special subject.
    2. When looking for universal selectors, we now match against all possible selectors that have * as the subject rather than trying to pick out specific styleName (class), id or pseudo conditions. This is needed as there may arbitrary advanced conditions in the selector chain, for example, descendant selectors that have a universal subject. Note this was the actual cause of the bug - but the other fixes were needed to separate "global" from "*".
    3. In the compiler, we'll still use the generated _globalStyles.as (i.e. from the "global" StyleDef collection of style declarations) as the place holder for universal selectors (as _*Styles.as would be an invalid ActionScript class name), though these universal selectors will report their subject as "*".
    4. When representing a selector in full as a String, we'll continue to omit "*" as the subject and substitute the empty string, so "*.foo" will be printed as ".foo".

    Unless you are using Spry menus as a learning experience, you should move forward to a menus system that will display properly on the millions of portable devices that won't work with Spry which was deprecated 2 years ago.
    Many are using JQuery menus or pure HTML/CSS menus.
    If you wish to continue your Spry for learning experience, we'll be glad to assist; please let us know.
    By the way, your submenus are not showing because you need to add the red value to this rule in your vertical CSS

    Does anyone know how to emulate CSS fixed positioning in Flex 3?

    How do I achieve fixed positioning where the panel is taken out of the flow and positioned relative to the application chrome?  (similiar to applicationcontrolbar, but not exactly)

    Round 2 of bug fixes for the Spark skins for Halo components. Thanks to Alex for help with the data grid issues.
    Bugs fixed:
    SDK-19655 - Setting rowCount property on DataGrid causes extra blank row to be displayed
    SDK-19652 - Items in a DataGrid do not line up after scrolling.
    SDK-19605 - disabled Halo ColorPicker with Gumbo skin draws too dark
    SDK-19596 - When you have a single button on an Alert, the left edge looks flatter than the right
    SDK-19585 - Menus compiled with the halo theme in Flex 4 have a different backgroundColor than in Flex 3
    SDK-19665 - Halo List with Gumbo skin doesnt draw the alternating item color all the way to the right edge of the control if VScrollBar is present
    SDK-19651 - odd header rendering issue on Halo DataGrid with Gumbo skin
    QA Notes: The alert layout code was positioning the buttons/text on sub-pixel boundaries if the width or height of the alert was an odd number of pixels. We always snap to pixel boundaries now, but this may cause bitmap compare issues with Alert.

  • Found a fix for lightbox working locally but not on site!

    This was reply origionally but I felt I should post it. It seems to be a common problem and I was unable to find a resolution so here it is....
    I found a fix for something similar that occurred on my machine. I too was seeing no problems locally but when I posted it to my site, it just had the placeholder and no images....
    Apparently, dreamweaver is smarter than the browser... (maybe incorrect statement) however..... the file extensions are case sensitive!
    I had this-------- <A href="Img/CGM_1.JPG" border="0"  rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG]" title="CGM Pic Set"><img src="Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG" /></a>
    <a href="Img/CGM_2.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG]"></a>
                      <a href="Img/CGM_3.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG]"></a>
                      <a href="Img/CGM_4.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG]"></a>
    Well, I didnt think anything was so bad, all of the colors were right I wasn't getting any warnings.... wtf?
    As it turns out, and this is only because I just started a new image set after testing an individual - - baby steps - - if you use the properties bar at the bottom of DW, it applies a different case for specific parts...... i.e. this is what it produced
    <A HREF="Img/CGM_1.jpg" border="0"  rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]" title="CGM Pic Set"><img src="Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg" /></a>
                      <a HREF="Img/CGM_2.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]"></a>
                      <a HREF="Img/CGM_3.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]"></a>
                      <a HREF="Img/CGM_4.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]"></a>
    Notice the HREF's are now UPPER case and the jpg's are now lower case. !!!! really?!?!?
    Also, another thing to look out for is the folder/ in front of your thumbnail; make sure it is there. In my case I use my sam "Img" folder, not the "images" folder that lightbox creates.
    Hope this helps, I beat my head against the wall for a total of 10 hours over 2 days trying to figure this out. I couldn't find anything on the internet. I'm going to post this so others having this issue get it resolved. I found those, just no resolution.

    Thanks for your quick response
    I tried what you said and I still had no avail...
    There is a style.css file in the root directory but for some reason you cant access it...
    I checked the file permissions of style.css and they are: 644
    Its really wierd - I dont understand why it isnt reading...
    Also regarding {www.care.cc} all of my clients websites are under the same web hosting service, so he set the default "404 page not found" redirects to {www.care.cc} which is their "Main Site" as such - I understand that this is bad practice but unfortunatley I have no control over these matters as I have limited access too my clients web hosting.
    Thanks again for the Help

    Resize/re-scale & optimize all images for the web in your graphics editor before you insert them into your web pages.  Saves bandwidth and reduces page load.
    Cycle2 is a responsive slideshow.  If you want all images to remain 400px and not responsive to layout,  you'll need to modify the CSS code a little.
    Details on using Previous & Next links are in the documentation.

  • On some of the tabs I pin to the top of the browser as an "app" the website icon is simply a dotted square!? Others have the web-logo. Is there a fix for that or procedure I am missing?

    Wondering why some website tabs I pin to the browser just show a small dotted square instead of the website's logo. So then, I have to hover over the tab to reveal text as to what site it is! Is there a fix for this??? Thanks

    If the web site doesn't provide a Favicon, Firefox uses the default "icon". As of Firefox 8.0 that default icon is the blank dashed square, where earlier versions used an icon that was a bit narrower and looked like a sheet of paper with the upper-right corner folded over.
    You can revert to the old default icon with this '''userChrome.css''' code. <br /> <br />

    SDK-19556 - selected Halo CheckBox and RadioButton icons briefly flicker when you roll over them
    SDK-19658 - Halo ComboBox with Gumbo skin has an odd flicker
    Doc/QA Notes: The fix for SDK-19963 includes a compatibility-version check. When compatibility-version < 4, setting themeColor implicitly sets rollOverColor and selectionColor, if they have not been set. When compatibility-version >= 4, you must explicitly set rollOverColor and selectionColor, even when using the Halo theme.
