CSV issue

Hi ,
I need to create a csv file and load that csv file into database.
But while creating csv i am facing problems with line seperators. After typing one line i am pressing "Enter Key"
to terminate that line and go to next line. But that is not inserting a new line character.
Is there any way to specify record seperator in a csv file?
cheers
RRK

Does text pad give you the option to save the file as Unix style or DOS style? You need to save it in the correct format for your oracle server because the line termination characters differ between operating systems.
Alternatively, save the file as a DOS file on your windows machine and then transfer it to your unix server (assuming you are running oracle on unix) using FTP with the ASCII option rather than binary option which will convert the CR/LF chrs of DOS to the LF chr (or is it the CR chr, I can never remember) of Unix.

  • Report output Export to CSV issue

    Hi Experts,
I have a Bex Query. After running the report when I export the report in CSV format using "Export to CSV" from the report output screen, the data
is being dumped in different columns And when i try to convert that particular CSV file to Excel as we can only select one single column for delimiting the values using a separator into different cells the data in the other column is being truncated.
Kindly suggest me how to resolve this.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sushma

    Hi,
(If anything else on the BW side doesn't help).
Not so long ago I had a similiar problem all data (originally taken from several columns) were in one column - solved it with the help of VB coding.
Sth like this could help you.
    Regards, Leszek
        Dim tekst As String
        last_row = Selection.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeLastCell).Row
        Range("A1:Z" & last_row).Select
        Cells.Select
        Selection.NumberFormat = "@"
        For wiersz = 1 To last_row
             Cells(wiersz, 1).Select
             tekst = Selection.Value
             Cells(wiersz, 1).Value = Left(tekst, 21)
             Cells(wiersz, 2).Value = Right(Left(tekst, 27), 6)
             Cells(wiersz, 3).Value = Right(Left(tekst, 37), 10)
             Cells(wiersz, 4).Value = Right(Left(tekst, 50), 13)

  • Import from CSV issue

    Hey all,
I am attempting to import data into an existing table from a .csv file. I click on the table, select import and then run through the process of aligning the columns with their respective values in the file. I then hit verify and the fille passes as successful. I run the import task and send the output to a worksheet. When I examine the worksheet the data hasn't been capture correctly. What appears to be happening is that the text qualifier is being ignored and the special characters (specifically the CRLF and comma) are causing the records to be broken in the middle and the data from one record is being filtered down to the next INSERT INTO statement.
I've looked through the documentation and there doesn't appear to be a way to set the text qualifier for the import fields. I would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
    Cheers!

    1. I'm using version 1.5.1
    2. Text qualifier in this case would be " (double quote). Essentially the idea is that any text inside the quote will lose it special meaning. So the newlines and commas inside the quotation will not trigger an end of field or end of row action in the import utility.
    3. I can mock up one similar to the that is giving us problems. Let me know where you'd like it.

  • Csv format in Delivers.

    Hi,
Is there any way we can achive the .csv format as a .csv in Delivers. I see that when the report is sent as .csv it open up as a tab delimetted and not a comma seperator. Any workaround to acheive this? Please advice. Just for this .csv issue we are forced to use BIP. Any runtime settings we can change in Delivers to acheive this. We need the .csv to open as a comma seperator value when emailed or ftp'd. Please advice.

    hi,
    Again Saichand !!!!!! ;)
Its a bug we raised a SR with oracle for the CSV file attachment will not come .csv u ll get as .bat or ??? i didn't remembered exactly
I dont have Java code with me,Some of my senior folks wrote that and code passed on to client, its 6months back
Now i am out of project :-)
Sorry this much information i know.I will try to recollect for you if i get any thing update you soon!!!!
    thanks,

  • July Release

    July release
[random display web app items from category, forgot password for online payments and bug corrections]
We are announcing a new Business Catalyst release, scheduled to go live next week.
This release includes several fixes that were impacting partners and customers using our eCommerce module, a new module setting allowing partners to display individual random items from a category, some improvements to the new File Manager, Forgot password support for offline payments and a few other bug fixes.
Known issues can be found posted here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2372
    Features and enhancements
    Random display items per category
One frequent request we had from partners, was the ability to display random web app items from a specific category. With the next release we're going to include this setting not only for web apps, but for all items that supported random display: web app items, news, blogs, events, FAQs, Forums, Media Downloads. To display a random item from a category, a user should use the cr attribute in the module. See below some samples for each of the updates modules:
    webapps - { module_webapps,5579,cr,41117 }
    webappscustomer - { module_webappscustomer,5579,cr,41117 }
    news - { module_announcement,cr,41117 } or { module_announcement,cr,41117,true,ajax,_top }
    blog - { module_blog,cr,41117 }
    events - { module_booking,cr,41117 }
    faq - { module_faq,cr,41117 } or { module_faq,cr,41117,true,ajax,_top }
    forum - { module_forum,cr,41117 }
    media downloads - { module_literature,cr,41117 }
The new setting is also available through the module manager or our Dreamweaver integration
For more information on this new module parameter, read the Module Quick Reference guide.
Send web form to additional email addresses
With this release, we are enabling webBasics site owners to send the web form notification to multiple email addresses. To enable  that, we've added a new web form setting, named "Notification E-mail", that allows users to enter the email addresses where the web form notification should be sent:
Note: This functionality is available for all plans. When a workflow is applied on the form, this setting will list the email addresses included in the first step of the attached workflow.
"Forgot password workflow" for offline payments
Due to PCI-DSS security requirements, we have implemented a compliant workflow for the Offline Payment (OP) password.
Every user who has access to orders made through the offline payment gateway, will be required to set-up a security question and answer that the user will later use for the "Forgot Password" workflow.
In addition to this, we have published a compliant procedure to reset the Offline Payment password, in case a user forgets the security question and answer. It will be publicly available in our Knowledge Base.
    Other changes
New File Manager: we've added keyboard shortcuts for some of the most common actions (see tooltips)
New File Manager: added support for multiple file upload;  (not supported on Internet Explorer 8/9 and tablets)
Report on opt-in status: we've updated  custom reports to allow customers also export the customer opt-n status
Updated events subscribers list to also display the subscriber email address
    Deprecated functionality
With this release we are going to remove the reset password functionality from Partner Portal because it raises security implications as it allowed partners to view a user password; to reset an admin user password, partners can login into the site admin console and use the send password recovery email link from the Admin Users interface.
With August release, the Module Manager interface will remove the option to "Use Image for Button [x]" available for some modules (web form submit button, product search form button and more). The current browser support is good enough for enabling more effective ways to style buttons with CSS instead. This also helps with preparing to replace the current Module Manager with the better version available in File Manager.
    Issues fixed by July release
Issue 2892059 - Fixed an issue preventing the Facebook like and comments module to render after choosing a different product from a product group; to enable Facebook comments, partners also need to update the way this plugin is included in the site; for more details on what needs to be updated, read the "Facebook comments plugin does not work properly when used with Product Grouping" technote

  • Windows 2012 Nodes - Slow CSV Performance - Need help to resolve my iSCSI issue configuration

I spent weeks going over the forums and the net for any publications and advice on how to optimize iSCSI connections and i'm about to give up.  I really need some help in determining if its something i'm not configuring right or maybe its an equipment
    issue.
    Hardware:
2x Windows 2012 Hosts with 10 Nics (same NIC configuration) in a Failover Cluster sharing a CSV LUN.
    3x NICs Teamed for Host/Live Migration (192.168.0.x)
    2x NICS teamed for Hyper-V Switch 1 (192.168.0.x)
    1x NIC teamed for Hyper-V Switch 2 (192.168.10.x)
    4x NICs for iSCSI traffic (192.168.0.x, 192.168.10.x, 192.168.20.x 192.168.30.x)
Jumbo frames and flow control turned on all the NICs on the host.  IpV6 disabled.  Client for Microsoft Network, File/Printing Sharing Disabled on iSCSI NICs.
MPIO Least Queue selected.  Round Robin gives me an error message saying "The parameter is incorrect.  The round robin policy attempts to evenly distribute incoming requests to all processing paths. "
    Netgear ReadyNas 3200
    4x NICs for iSCSI traffic ((192.168.0.x, 192.168.10.x, 192.168.20.x 192.168.30.x)
    Network Hardware:
Cisco 2960S managed switch - Flow control on, Spanning Tree on, Jumbo Frames at 9k - this is for the .0 subnet
Netgear unmanaged switch - Flow control on, Jumbo Frames at 9k - this is for .10 subnet
Netgear unmanaged switch - Flow control on, Jumbo Frames at 9k - this is for .20 subnet
Netgear unmanaged switch - Flow control on, Jumbo Frames at 9k - this is for .30 subnet
Host Configuration (things I tried turning on and off):
    Autotuning
    RSS
    Chimney Offload
I have 8 VMs stored in the CSV.  When try to load all 8 up at the same time, they bog down.  Each VM loads very slowly and when they eventually come up, most of the important services did not start.  I have to load
them up 1 or 2 at a time.  Even then the performance is nothing like if they were loading up on the Host itself (VHD stored on the host's hdd).  This is what prompted me to add in more iSCSI connections to see if I can improve the VM's
performance.  Even with 4 iSCSI connections, I feel nothing has changed.  The VMs still start up slowly and services do not load right.  If I distribute the load with 4 VMs on Host 1 and 4 VMs on Host 2, the load up
    times do not change.
As a manual test for file copy speed, I moved the cluster resources to Host 1 and copied a VM from the CSV and onto the Host.   The speed would start out around 250megs/sec and then eventually drop down to about 50/60 megs/sec.  If I turn
off all iSCSI connections except one, it get the same speed.  I can verify from the Windows Performance Tab under Task Manager that all the NICS are distributing traffic evenly, but something is just limiting the flow.  Like what I stated on top,
I played around with autotuning, RSS and chimney offload and none of it makes a difference.
The VMs have been converted to VHDx and to fixed size.  That did not help.
Is there something I'm not doing right?   I am working with Netgear support and they are puzzled as well.  The ReadyNas device should easily be able to handle it.
Please help!  I pulled my hair out over this for the past two months and I'm about to give up and just ditch clustering all together and just run the VMs off the hosts themselves.
    George

    A few things...
For starters, I recommend opening a case with Microsoft support.  They will be able to dig in and help you...
Turn on the CSV Cache, it will boost your performance
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/clustering/archive/2012/03/22/10286676.aspx
A file copy has no resemblance of the unbuffered I/O a VM does... so don't use that as a comparison, as you are comparing apples to oranges.
Do you see any I/O performance difference between the coordinator node and the non-coordinator nodes?  Basically, see which node owns the cluster Physical Disk resource... measure the performance.  Then move the Physical Disk resource for the
CSV volume to another node, and repeat the same measure of performance... then compare them.
Your IP addressing seems odd...  you show multiple networks on 192.168.0.x and also on 192.168.10.x.   Remember that clustering only recognizes and uses 1 logical interface per IP subnet.  I would triple check all your IP schemes...
to ensure they are all different logical networks.
    Check you binding order
Make sure you NIC drivers and NIC firmware are updated
Make sure you don't have IPsec enabled, that will significantly impact your network performance
For the iSCSI Software Initiator, when you did your connection... make sure you didn't do a 'Quick Connect'... that will do a wildcard and connect over any network.  You want to specify your dedicated iSCSI network
No idea what the performance capabilities of the ReadyNas is...  this could all likely be associated with the shared storage.
What speed NIC's are you using?   I hope at least 10 GB...
    Hope that helps...
    Elden
    Hi Elden,
    2. CSV is turned on, I have 4GB dedicated from each host to it.  With IOmeter running within the VMs, I do see the read speed jumped up 4-5x fold but the write speed stays the same (which according to the doc it should).  But even with the read
speed that high, the VMs are not starting up quickly.
    4. I do not see any difference with IO with coordinator and non coordinator nodes.
    5.  I'm not 100% sure what your saying about my IPs.  Maybe if I list it out, you can help explain further.
    Host 1 - 192.168.0.241 (Host/LM IP), Undefined IP on the 192.168.0.x network (Hyper-V Port 1), Undefined IP on the 192.168.10.x network (Hyper- V port 2), 192.168.0.220 (iSCSI 1), 192.168.10.10 (iSCSI2), 192.168.20.10(iSCSI 3), 192.168.30.10 (iSCSI 4)
The Hyper-V ports are undefined because the VMs themselves have static ips.
0.220 host NIC connects with the .231 NIC of the NAS
10.10 host NIC connects with the 10.100 NIC of the NAS
20.10 host NIC connects with the 20.100 NIC of the NAS
30.10 host NIC connects with the 30.100 NIC of the NAS
    Host 2 - 192.168.0.245 (Host/LM IP), Undefined IP on the 192.168.0.x network (Hyper-V Port 1), Undefined IP on the 192.168.10.x network (Hyper- V port 2), 192.168.0.221 (iSCSI 1), 192.168.10.20 (iSCSI2), 192.168.20.20(iSCSI 3), 192.168.30.20 (iSCSI 4)
The Hyper-V ports are undefined because the VMs themselves have static ips.
0.221 host NIC connects with the .231 NIC of the NAS
10.20 host NIC connects with the 10.100 NIC of the NAS
20.20 host NIC connects with the 20.100 NIC of the NAS
30.20 host NIC connects with the 30.100 NIC of the NAS
    6. Binding orders are all correct.
    7. Nic drivers are all updated.  Didn't check the firmware.
    8. I do not know about IPSec...let me look into it.
    9. I did not do quick connect, each iscsi connection is defined using a specific source ip and specific target ip.
These are all 1gigabit nics, which is the reason why I have so many NICs...otherwise there would be no reason for me to have 4 iscsi connections.

  • Excel issues with importing CSV or HTML table data from URL - Sharepoint? Office365?

    Greetings,
We have a client who is having issues importing CSV or HTML table data as one would do using Excel's Web Query import from a reporting application.  As the error message provided by Excel is unhelpful I'm reaching out to anyone who can help us begin to
troubleshoot problems affecting what is normal standard Excel functionality.  I'd attach the error screenshot, but I can't because my account is not verified....needless to say it says "Microsoft Excel cannot access  the file https://www.avantalytics.com/reporting_handler?func=wquery&format=csv&logid=XXXX&key=MD5
Where XXXX is a number and MD5 is an md5 code.  The symptoms stated in the error message are:
    - the file name or path does not exist
-The file is being used by another program
-The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
None of these symptoms are the case, naturally. The user encountered this with Excel2010, she was then upgraded to Excel2013 and is still experiencing the same issue. The output of this URL in a browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox) is CSV data for the affected
user, so it is not a network connectivity issue.  In our testing environment using both Excel2010 or 2013 this file is imported successfully, so we cannot replicate.  The main difference I can determine between our test environment and the end-user
is they have a Sharepoint installation and appear to have Office365 as well.
So,  my question might more appropriately be for Sharepoint or Office365 folks, but I can't be sure they're  a culprit.  Given this - does anyone have any knowledge of issues which might cause this with Sharepoint or Office365 integrated with
Excel and/or have suggestions for getting more information from Excel or Windows other than this error message?  I've added the domain name as a trusted publisher in IE as I thought that might be the issue, but that hasn't solved anything.  As you
can see its already https and there is no authentication or login - the md5 key is the authentication.  The certificate for the application endpoint is valid and registered via GoDaddy CA.
I'm at a loss and would love some suggestions on things to check/try.
    Thanks  -Ross

    Hi Ross,
    >> In our testing environment using both Excel 2010 and 2013 this file is imported successfully, so we cannot replicate.
I suspect it is caused by the difference of web server security settings.
KB: Error message when you use Web query to a secure Web page (HTTPS://) in Excel: "Unable to open"
    Hope it will help.

  • OBIEE 11g - issue when export hierarchy to a csv

    Hello,
I have an issue when I try to export to a csv file a report containing a Logical Dimension field, when I export just the first level of hierarchy is exported and not all the records. When I export to another format (such as excel) all the records are exported correctly. Do you know what can I do in order to have all the records exported to a csv?
    Thanks!
    Solange.

This is a bug see below.
Bug 13083479 : EXPORT DATA TO CSV FORMAT DOES NOT DOWNLOAD EXPANDED HIERARCHICAL COLUMNS
Proposed workaround : OBIEE 11.1.1.5: Pivot Table Report Export To Csv Does Not Include Hierarchical Data [ID 1382184.1]

  • Interactive Report Download CSV file Issue (output includes separator BR)

    Hi,
I have a Interactive Report and displaying the column values (multiple values in same ROW) as mentioned below.
    SQL Query
      select deptno,
           function1(empno) empno
      from emp
    IR Output
    Dept       Employee No
    10         AAA,BBB,CCC, ...    // -  Row 1
20         XXX,YYY,ZZZ, ...    // -  Row 2 Now I want to display each employee in a new Line, so modified the SQL Query
    Modified SQL Query
      select deptno,
           REPLACE(function1(empno),',','<br>') empno
      from emp
    New IR Output
    Dept       Employee No
    10         AAA
               BBB
               CCC
               ...    // -  Row 1
    20         XXX
               YYY
               ZZZ
...    // -  Row 2 SO, Interactive Report Out put looks fine and that's the way we want.
But the problem is when I download the Report in CSV or in PDF using the Action Menu -> Download..
I am getting break line B R in the output, and also I have two different output in CSV for two different column. [Logic is same for both the columns.]
    CSV output1
    Employee No
      AAA<br>BBB<br>CCC
XXX<br>YYY<br>ZZZI have other columns also with multiple values...for that column, I am getting the following CSV output
    CSV output2
    City List
      1111<br>
      2222<br>
3333<br>So, in CSV for one column, I am getting all the values in same line with the seperator B R (Output1)
for other column, I am getting values in new line with the separator B R. (Output2)
Is there a way to FIX this CSV or PDF output for Interactive Report.
I DON'T WANT THE SEPARATOR BR in CSV and also the values should always be in New Line.
I want to have the following Output in CSV
    Employee No
      AAA
      BBB
      CCCThanks,

Thanks.. Jari.. for the quick response.
I updated my SQL query with Chr(10) and added the code in Page HTML header.
Now the CSV & PDF output are fine..getting each individual value in seperate line (no BR tag)
BUT in the Interactive Report Output, I am now getting first 2 values in 1 line, then next value in next line, and so on..
    IR Output
    Employee
      AAA BBB
      CCCCCCC
DDDDDI have few more issues with CSV & PDF output
    1. In PDF is there a way to increase the column width, as for some of the columns, the values are getting truncated.
    2. For some of the columns in IR Report, I have user BR tag in Column Heading and this also come in CSV output (column heading with BR tag), is there a way to fix this. In PDF Column headings are fine (no BR tag)
and by the way..what exactly this does.

  • OBIEE 11g - issue when export to a csv file

    Hello,
I have an issue when I try to export to a csv file a report having numeric feild, when I export and open the file in notepad the trailing zeros to the right of decimal points do not show up. When export to another formats (such as excel, pdf) the trailing zeros appears correctly. e..g, 100.00 appears as 100, 100.50 appears as 100.5.
Do you know what can be done in order to have trailing zeros to the right of decimal points to appear in a csv?
    Thanks

This is a bug see below.
Bug 13083479 : EXPORT DATA TO CSV FORMAT DOES NOT DOWNLOAD EXPANDED HIERARCHICAL COLUMNS
Proposed workaround : OBIEE 11.1.1.5: Pivot Table Report Export To Csv Does Not Include Hierarchical Data [ID 1382184.1]
    Mark if answered.!
    Thanks,

  • Issue with downloading in CSV Format

    Hi SDN,
    i used the FM's SAP_CONVERT_TO_CSV_FORMAT - to convert 2 CSV Format  and
GUI_DOWNLOAD  - to download the data 2 presentation server.
i'm able 2 open the file in CSV format, but the data is displayed in single column only.
how 2 display in different columns ?
for example the ITAB contains empno, empname and designation.
    I want it 2 display as :
       EMPNO      EMPNAME     DESIGNATION
         1                xxxxx              Developer
         2                 yyyy               TL
    with tab delimiter.
now the values are displaying as:
    EMPNO;EMPNAME;DESIGNATION
    1;xxxx;Developer
    2;yyyy;TL
    pls suggest.
    awaiting ur early response.
    Regards,
    Suman.

    Hi Max,
the issue is when opening the CSV file.
all the contents are coming in a single column. for ex.,
                    Col 1                                                 Col2          Col3
    Row1      Heading1,Heading2,Heading3
    Row2      a1,b1,c1
    Row3      a2,b2,c2
    Row4      a3,b3,c3
I'm not sure whether this format is correct  ?
what I'm expecting is  like the one below, with a tab delimiter.because after runing the ALV report when I export 2 Excel in CSV format it is displaying like this.
                        Col1                Col2               Col3
    Row1          Heading1      Heading2          Heading3
    Row2             a1                    b1                c1
    Row3             a2                     b2               c2
    Row4             a3                     b3                c3
    Regards,
    Suman.

  • Issue when creating a CSV file

Stupid issue but I've tried to fix it all day and it's not working...
I need to create a CSV file made up of 3 columns, 2 number and 1 char. The char column is a company name that has spaces in it. When I run the query in SQL Developer, the char column looks fine. When I run in in BiPub as a CSV, I get double-quotes around the char column. It looks fine if I would look at it as DATA or any other format.
I can't use the REPLACE function because there's nothing wrong with the data.
    We're using BI Pub v.10.1.3.4.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!!
    Kris

First I tried using a basic rtf file and just selected CSV as the type. Then I tried using the 'e-text template' and selecting CSV, same result. Now I'm trying to use an .xsl file instead of a .rtf to see if that works.

  • File upload - issue with European .csv file format

    All,
when uploading the .csv file for "Due List for Planned Receipts" in the File Transfer Upload center I receive an error.  It appears that it is due to the european .csv file format that is delimited by semicolon rather than comma. The only way I could solve this issue is to change Regional and Language options to English. However, I don't think this is a great solution as I can't ask all our suppliers to change their settings.  Has anyone come across this issue and another way of solving it?
    Thank you!
    Have a good day,
    Johanna

Igor thank you for your suggestion.
    I found this SAP note:
+If you download a file, and the formatting of the CSV file is faulty, it is possible that your column separator does not match the standard settings of the SAP system. In the standard SAP system, the separator is ,.
To ensure that the formatting is correct, set your global default for column separation in your system, so that it matches that of the SAP system you are using.+
To do that Microsoft suggests to change the "List separator" in the Regional and Language Options Customize view. Though like you suggest that does not seem to do the trick. Am I missing something?
However, if I change the whole setting from say German to English (UK) the .csv files are comma delimited and can be easily uploaded.  Was hoping there would be another way of solving this without need for custom development.

  • Issue with CSV export while using HTMLDB_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV in SQL

    Hi,
I have created a SQL report with HTMLDB_ITEM package. IN that report, I have generated a report column using SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV, which can be used by the admin to update the column entry.
    Here is the link:-

The update is working fine, The issue is, if you download this report as a CSV, it will export all the values of the select list for that particular column. Is there any way to restrict the export to the single value of that column( or the current value in the database). Please help/ suggest.
    thanks
