CSV upload and update table fields

Hi,
Is there any way to update any field of the underlying table from HTMLDB while importing the CSV file?For e.g, if there are XYZ table have 200 ermployee where empno is primary key.
Once we upload the data from CSV its fine.Now after 2 weeks i need to update the sal and ename corresponding to the previous 100 employees only.So now when i trying to update the data a unique constraints violation occurs since the empno have already present so my concern is that -- how to get out of this problem specially when updation of huge no. of records needed and also no updation required for some records already present?Do the CSV update be helpful on that circumstances?
One thing we can do that we can track down the list of 100 employee whose information going to be updated.Put those info in excel and add rest 100 emplyee to that excel and again doing the CSV upload ?
This is a huge issue and not only the tedious task but also errorprone and that task will be increased with the amount of data increasing in the table.
Please anyone can suggest ?

The best way to solve your problem is next way.
1º) Save the file with the data to import like a BLOV ITEM.
Ok it can be done. CSV placed on BLOB data field.2º) Make a procedure to manage this BLOV item that can be fired by user pushing a buttom. (you can do it easy from HTMLDB).
how to manage ? What need to be fire to push the CSV to the target table with the actual field population ?3º) Into this procedure insert the records freely and dont worry for anything more. (maybe you can be worry about duplicate records is so, only, into this same procedure make any pl/sql lines to be sure record is not duplicate before insert)

If the data already exist it should be needed to truncate before insert that is not my reqr rather the existing data should be updated based on PK if any chages occurs in the CSV fo that data.4º) after you are sure the insert work properly and if you need any other treatment to record, with a trigger in the table or calling any other procedure from the same trigger make the traeataments that you need.

my users want to have csv upload and manual edit on apex pages functions together...
it means they want to insert the data by csv upload and also have interactive report and form on the same table...
so if user A changes something in csv file...then user B update or delete another record from apex fronted (manually in the apex form)...then after that user A wants to upload the csv file,the record was changed by user B would be overwritten ...
So how can I prevent it?????

after editing data by users...a manger going to review it and in case of approval , i need to insert the data to one final table....
so it needs much effort to check two source tables and in case of difference between table of csv and other one...what to do...

FM : to call collective Search help and update two fields in SSCR

     I have problem while using collective serach help.
    My scenario is using Collective Search help thru that i want to update 2 fields in my selection screen.
Thru this function module F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST i can mapping and update two fields using DYNP_VALUE_UPDATE but using this function module i can't able to call my Collective Search help
in other way

How to use KAUF_AUFNR_CHANGE to change Process order and Update a field

I have come across FM KAUF_AUFNR_CHANGE . Would appreciate any guidance on how to use the FM in my program and Update a field in the Process order.

All the importing parameters of this function module have a striaght structure of the transperent tables...
i have checked the code and it has a modify statement based on the importing parameter..
pick one record in databas and pass it to the importing parameters, with some values changed...
i think that should work
what values to pass the import values of FM -KAUF_AUFNR_CHANGE.

Below i have written My program flow logic
The program should read the open items i.e debit items in the customer account,
Based on the invoice date and customer payment terms calculate the due date and then the interest should be calculated on that item based on the due date.
Use the transaction fb02 and update the field reference key 1 (BSEG-xref1)
with the interest amount calculated
Only consider customers whose interest indicator knb1-vzskz = 'vk'.
Interest is to be calculated for every 30 days
at the rate of 1% .please see example below.
Document date is 01.01.2007
for amount 1000SGD   payment term 7 days
It becomes due on 08.01.2007
until 06.02.2007 you should not consider for calculation of interest
SGD on   7.02.2007 run you can consider this item for interest calculation

I m trying to write a code, I have tables A and table B.
I need to compare table A and table B , and update table B with one column.
using joins b/w A&B tables, I selected one record from table A in cursor.
After Begin I m trying to open cursor and in FOR LOOP
Im trying to update table B WHERE CURRENT OF Cursor.
this is erroring out.
could you let me know on this.
there is another way like selecting required columns from both table.but i was told to do as above.

You haven't posted nearly enough for anyone to help you. You didn't even tell us what error you are getting.
So about the only thing we can do is post a generic MERGE statement which you'll have to modify for your use.

Once the fields are edited and the save button is pressed,the entered values have to be populated into the Z tables.The code has to written in the PAI of the screen 1000.Here the values from the work area of the internal table are moved into the Z Table. The code will be.

Extending sales order change BAPI and updating custom fields

Hi
i added 3 new fields into VA01/02/03 screen.i added at the header level in the additional data tab B area and appended them in VBAK table.
i want to change these values using sales order change BAPI.i added the fields in the structure VBAKKOZ,VBAKKOZX,BAPE_VBAK,BAPE_VBAKX.
may i know what else i need to do?should i move them anywhere with in the code or does the bapi take those values automatically using EXTENSIONIN structure?
also can some one send me code to actually check if bapi is changing my values?
if poss tell me how should i populate values into BAPI.

Reg "created by" and "updated by" fields in Data Manager

Hi,
I just want to know if we have any solution for the "Create By" and "Update By" issue in data manager. Because in my system i have two users. The 1st user created the record and later if the 2nd user edits any field then only the "Update By" field should show the 2nd user name but as of now now it updates both the "Create By" and "Update By" by the 2nd user name.

goto Console and check the "Selected Fields" property of your "Create By" fields. You should choose a field that does not change at all if some updates the record. A good choice is a Auto ID that is created only once when the record is created. So you can ensure that your Create User will not change if anyone is updating the record later on.

BSIS and BSIK table Fields

Dear Experts,
I m coding a Vendor GL report and using bsik and bsis table.
problem is when i check for a document ( say 1100000290 open document), i dont get any entry of prctr, bupla or secco in bsis and bsik tables. but when i chek same document in BSEG (which i don't want to use, because its a cluster table) , I get bupla, prctr and secco fields value.
Do i need to use some other tables also ?????????

After selecting data from BSIS & BSIK you must be having the fields BUKRS, GJAHR, BELNR, BUZEI. Correct ?
These fields are key fields of BSEG. You can select data from BSEG using FOR ALL ENTRIES and in the WHERE condition pass the fields BUKRS, GJAHR, BELNR, BUZEI. I don't think selecting data based on key fields from cluster tables will give any performance issues.

Read .csv File and Update DB

I have a .csv file with about 11 columns and multiple rows.
I need to read this file and from each row extract the first
4 columns and update my local database.
If the value if 1st column (unique#) is already in DB do an
Update else do an Insert.
How do I read this .csv file and accomplish this goal?

You read the file with <cffile>
It then becomes nested lists. For the outer list, your
delimiter is chr(10). Each list item is a row from your file. For
your inner list, the delimiter is a comma.
That should get you started. Details list functions and
<cffile> are in the cfml reference manual. If you don't have
one, the internet does.

Help with drop create and update table

I have joined 5 tables and selected some columns ,then I need to update some columns in that. After updating I need to create a report with the new column values.
To do this my method is to create temp table with the select statement then update the temp table , use this temp table for the report and then drop the temp table.
Is there anyother way to do this ??

For your requirement -
1. you need a view on which you will create a drop down list UI element and a table view element
2. you will need to create a contoller class - this will be used to handle the event that will be triggered when user selects an entry from drop down list
3. you will need a model class in which you will write the business logic to retrieve employees of selected department.
Pls search this forum or blogs for - data binding with BSPs, Table View. Pls read these concepts and try to develop your requirement. You can come back to this forum if you face any issues during development.

I want to find out which SAP table field is populating the given IDoc segment without getting into ABAP code? Do we have something like "Where-used" list? On the reverse side, If I want to know which SAP Table field the incoming IDoc segement is posting to, how do I do that? Thanks in advance.

Comparsion of .csv file and sqlserver table

I have master table (item master) having more then 60000 records I fetched into offline dataset and loading each time in vb.net form instead of get from database which is costly, I want to inquire is there any function/technique available that
when ever my table in a database will be updated automatically my offline .csv (store in client local harddisk) will be updated.

You can create a sql server agent job for that.
Schedule the job based on your convenience and first step of the job would be to check control table that you maintain (with a bit field in it) if the bit is set. If bit is set proceed to next step to call a script which will do updation of offline csv file.
You can use OPENROWSET or SSIS pkg for that. Finally it will reset bit once updation is done.
The bit will set during the updation of your table by means of trigger code.
You can keep period of job as hourly
