CUCM 9.1 Call Recording for analogue devices

Hi,
We are designing a CUCM 9.1 solution where Active Call Recording for analogue devices feature is required.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/9_0_1/ccmfeat/CUCM_BK_CEF0C471_00_cucm-features-and-services-guide_chapter_0100110.html
According the feautre list support it seems that is supported by the old ata 186 but not by the ata 187.
Then, how could we achieve this on a new deployment? Has anyone had the chance to deal with this?
Many thanks in advance. Thank you very much,
Francesc

This is a weak spot in the native Cisco solution portfolio. I'll try to give one option but hopefully others will chime in with something more clever.
The MediaSense product can record trunk-side from Cisco CUBE which allows for device-agnostic recording; however, that only works if you're not concerned about internal calls to/from the analog phones (i.e. just to/from the PSTN). Getting the last part seems to require old fashioned SPAN recording to a capture server of a third party. This can get dicey though because most of the third-party recording vendors manually decipher the SCCP packets to figure out the calling/called party information. Be sure to ask them whether SCCP- or MGCP-controlled gateways are supported.
Please remember to rate helpful responses and identify helpful or correct answers.

Since you don’t allow emails any more – I suspect because of the numerous complaints with your service and the way you treat people that you don’t want documented, I am calling and I want this call recorded for future reference.
I have been a long time faithful customer of vzw and although the past year I have been late on payments many times and really couldn’t afford your exorbitant prices for services lots of other companies offer sometimes three times cheaper than what you charge, I have hung in there trying my best to meet my obligations.
This month has been no exception. You don’t know the background; the whole story of people’s lives. I know you could care less because all you care about is the profit-the money that comes in.
I was told when I agreed to pay my bill on the third per the recorded message that I had 14 days to pay…you cut me off anyway. The phones are not the tissue; your suspending my service means I cannot work. I may lose my job…how do you justify that? In any case? The least you could do would be to keep 4986 on and cut the phones off. But no. You refuse to compromise and meet the basic needs of your customer. What does that say about your company? I tried to call back on three separate occasions to tell you I couldn’t pay because of unexpected expenses but couldn’t get out of the automated system…sadly couldn’t get to a real person which also speaks volumes to me.
All this tells me this is a company I don’t wish to be affiliated with any more. As soon as I can, I will discontinue service with you…I know you could care less. I will honor the remaining portion of the contract but that’s it. You don’t deserve my business. I am a good, hardworking person who, at the sacrifice of myself and my needs, always pays her bills…albeit late at times. I realize others tell you stories and lies to justify themselves. That’s not me. If you knew what I had been through the last 7 yrs you would marvel that I am  still on my feet…don’t judge too quickly. You could be wrong…and in my eyes you are by doing this to me.
God will see us through this extremely scary time of that I have no doubt. No thanks to your company and lack of understanding and mercy. I am doing the best I can. Sadly you are not.
See I have choices. MANY choices of providers for services you offer. I don’t have to be treated like this. I don’t have to succumb to your coldness and callousness. I intend to choose better (and cheaper). If your company doesn’t get the “people factor” back you will be sorry.

Problem here is you admit you cannot afford the service.
And you want to blame Verizon for losing a job because you have no cell phone.
If your job depends on that phone I would pay it on time every time if you need a job to pay your bill.
No other service is going to treat you any different. And if you cannot afford Verizon's monthly invoice how are you going to afford new devices, activation fees, possible security deposits on any other cellular carrier? You can't.
Also if you made an arraignment to pay and then decide you cannot do so, why should Verizon extend you service or credit, or why is it you want to use the service and data and not pay for it as agreed.
Get a prepay phone. Its evident the cost is too high for you to afford on post pay.
    Good Luck

  • CUCM 6.1.5 and CUCM 9.1 Call Recording CODEC Issue

I have a call recording issue where if the CODEC agreed between an MGCP gateway and the IP phone is G711 call recording fails as it looks for an MTP (there are subs running XCODE in the MRGs for the devices in this scenario).  The traces seem to suggest that there is mismatch between the agreed DTMF.
When the call between the phone and the gateway is G729 then call recording works fine and doesn't request MT resource.
SIP traces show that the recorder (Verint Impact 360) responds with a SIP OK which contains options for PCMA, PCMU, and G729.
Call manager traces show that as soon as the INVITE is sent to the call recorder from the CUCM the request for MTP resource begins (i.e. before any media options are presented and even before the 100 TRYING is sent back)
The region setting between the phone and the gateways, in the failure scenario, is set to G711 and link loss type is low loss.  On CUCM 9.1 Ive set a CODEC preference list which I have tried g711 as the preference and then also G729.
The region setting between the phone and the gateway regions towards the region the call recording SIP trunk is in allows max. G711.
The question is, why when the call is set up using G729 there is no requirement for an MTP on the call recorded leg whereas when the call is setup with G711 then the CUCM looks for MTP?

To answer your question we need to look at the traces  , please attach both the traces here.
    Thanks

  • "SOME" devices can resolve the ALIAS (CNAME record) for a device, but not the REAL name (A record) - Why? How do I fix this?

I'm running the DNS server role on Windows Server 2012 R2 on a physical machine on my home network.
My AD is configured with a non-registered name - let's say it's "home.acme.ca" and the DNS server is configured to host that zone.  I also configured a 2nd zone in the DNS server called "myinf.acme.ca".  They both run on a physical
server with an IP of 192.168.1.10
The DHCP server on my Cable Modem is configured to hand out 192.168.1.10 as the only DNS server to every device on my network.  On my servers (with static IP addresses), 192.168.1.10 is configured as the only DNS server available for them.
I took the DNS servers from my Cable Provider and configured a Forwarder on my server to send name resolution requests to them only if my DNS server can not answer the request - basically for any name resolution request that does not end with ".home.acme.ca"
    or ".myinf.acme.ca"
The "home.acme.ca" zone is populated with 'A' records for all of the physical and virtual servers and PC's on my network.
The "myfin.acme.ca" zone is populated with 'CNAME' records that point directly to the 'A' record in "home.acme.ca" - for example, I have a serve named s000abc123ww.home.acme.ca with an 'A' record providing an IP address of 192.168.1.20 and
I created a 'CNAME' (alias) record named 'webserver.myinf.acme.ca' which points to the 'A' record 's000abc123ww.home.acme.ca'
2 of my 6 machines can resolve the alias but not the real name of the server!
.10 is the Domain Controller.  All of the other machines (except .98) are members of the home.acme.ca domain.
I attempted to ping 's000abc123ww.home.acme.ca' AND 'webserver.myinf.acme.ca' on the following 6 computers.  I used the fully qualified name in all cases.
4 of the below machines are able to resolve BOTH names.  The other 2 can resolve the Alias but not the real name!
I don't understand how this is possible, but I would like to fix it...!!!  Please help?
    .10 - Server 2012 R2 (Physical) -  Hosts Active Directory and DNS.
    .20 - Server 2012 R2 (Virtual)   -  Runs SQL Server
    .21 - Server 2012 R2 (Virtual)   -  Runs Apache
.22 - Server 2012 R2 (Virtual)  -   Runs Apache.  This is the device I am trying to ping (s000abc123ww)
    .98 - Windows 7 (Physical)
    .99 - Windows 7  (Virtual)
.21 (which is configured nearly identically to .20 and .22) can resolve and ping the Alias, but not the real name.
.98 can also resolve and ping the Alias, but not the real name.
The rest of the machines can resolve and ping both the alias and the real name.
All of the Virtual Machines are running under Hyper-V on the .10 physical server.
All the devices are on the same subnet.
Thank in advance to anyone who can help me understand and correct this problem!
    Jim

    Hi,
CNAME resource records are recommended for use in the following scenarios:
    • When a host that is specified in an A resource record in the
same zone needs to be renamed
    • When a generic name for a well-known server, such as www, must resolve to a group of individual computers (each with individual A resource records) that provide the same
service, for example, a group of redundant Web servers
Therefore please try to create your CNNAM record in the same zone and try again.

  • Call recorder for iphone 5s

i am having a iphone 5s which i am looking for a call recording app for voice calls..

There are many call recording apps (for example, we are developers of such apps ). However, as KiltedTim says, such apps are not tied into the core dialing feature of iPhone but are implemented through one of the two ways:
1 - VoIP based recording: the app will use your internet connection to connect your phone to the app's server, which in turn will connect you to the recipient phone. It's convenient to use but you must use the app's dialer to make the phone call so only outgoing calls are supported.
2 - Conference call (3-way call) recorders: the idea is making a conference call with 3 'participants' - you, the person you want to record, and another phone number that actually makes the recording. This phone number is provided and managed by the app. This method supports recording of both incoming and outgoing calls but it's a bit uncomfortable to make the merging of the call with all the participants.
Regarding the legal issue, each country/state has its own set of rules for phone recording. In some countries a single participant consent is enough, some countries require both participants, some have different rules for recordings that are shared vs private recordings. Our apps include a feature to play 'beep' sound every minute, to inform the other party that the call is recorded. You can use it or disable it as required by the law in your country/state.
My company have two apps -  'Call Recorder - IntCall' is based on VoIP and CallRec Lite - Record Phone Calls is based on conference calls. You can find a comparison of both apps here - although it's a comparison of our apps most of the sections are relevant for all apps that are based on those two methods so you can learn a bit more about the pros and cons of each method.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • Report the latest  event (record) for a device

I could have sworn I had this one working before but for the life of me I cant remember how I did it and I cant seem to figure it out anew.
I'm tracking events per device. A device may have any number of events in a given time period. I need to track the MOST RECENT event for a device per device. I do not want to have multiple records per device, only the record with the MOST RECENT timestamp.
I made the following two attempts but I'm still getting nowhere.
    select
      device,
MAX(dt) KEEP (DENSE_RANK FIRST ORDER BY dt) as time_Var
    from db_table partition (pPname)
    where
        Lower(example) like '%example text%'
        and dt > sysdate - 5and
    select DISTINCT
    device,
           (select TO_CHAR( (MAX(table_name.dt)), 'HH24:MI:SS MM/DD/YYYY') "timeVar"
              from table_name partition (pPName)
              where
           Lower(Example) like '%example text%'
           and dt > sysdate - 5)
    from table_name partition (pPName)
    where
        Lower(Example) like '%example text%'
        and dt > sysdate - 5
    order by device Asc;

    Hi,
    Salim's solution with
KEEP (DENSE_RANK FIRST ORDER BY dt)will show you the least recent event in the last 5 days.
If you want the most recent event, change "FIRST" to "LAST"
KEEP (DENSE_RANK LAST ORDER BY dt)or sort in DESCending order:
KEEP (DENSE_RANK FIRST ORDER BY dt DESC)If you want to display several columns from the most recent row, you'll have to use KEEP (DENSE_RANK ...) on each of them (except device).
In that case, you might find it easier to use an analytic function, such as ROW_NUMBER:
    WITH     ranked_data  AS
         SELECT     device, column_a, column_b, column_c
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  device
                                   ORDER BY          dt     DESC
                           )  AS r_num
         FROM     your_table
WHERE     LOWER (example)      LIKE '%example text%'
         AND     dt               > SYSDATE - 5
    SELECT  device, column_a, column_b, column_c
    FROM     ranked_data
    WHERE     r_num   = 1;

  • LMS 4.1 shows "No records" for all devices

    Hello everyone,
One of our end clients noticed that there is a "No records" message when choosing to show syslog messages for all devices that are configured on his LMS.
Under "LMS - Admin > System > Server Monitoring > Processes" I can see that the "SyslogAnalyzer" and "SyslogCollector" are showing as "Running normally"
    Also see attached screenshot:
I would really appreciate your advise on this issue.

    hello Daniel,
you are getting syslogs but they are getting filtered .
    go to >>
Admin > Network > Notification and Action Settings > Syslog Message Filters
and change the filter settings . Try >> KEEP and Enabled combination. after changing settings check the syslogs collector status , Keep an Eye on the Forwarded column, you should see counts in it instead of  zero .
you might need to play with filter settings   to get this worked.
    This is how Filters works:
    Scenario 1:
All filters are disabled. Mode:Keep             (Like in Our case with
Disabled the LINKUPDOWN and  Mode is Keep  .so all the messages for that
LINKUP DOWN will be only Forward)
    All messages will be forwarded.
    Scenario 2:
    All filters are disabled. Mode:Drop
    All messages will be filtered.
    Scenario 3:
Atleast one filter is enabled. Mode:Keep
Only those syslog messages that satisfy the enabled filters will be
forwarded and all others will be filtered.
    Scenario 4:
Atleast one filter is enabled. Mode:Drop
Only those syslog messages that satisfy the enabled filters will be filtered
and all others will be forwarded
    Thanks-

  • Using Batch Record/Order Record for electronic Device History Record in PP

We are evaluating the use of PP or PP-PI for production planning at a medical device company and one of the primary considerations is the ability to create an electronic Device History Record.  It looks like the Electronic Batch Record (COEBR) or Order Record (COPA) provides some of the capabilities required, but they do not appear to work with discrete PP.  While I realize that the differences in functionality between PP and PP-PI are small (and getting smaller), I am surprised that SAP would require medical device companies to use PP-PI to handle this business requirement?
How have other companies dealt with the eDHR business requirement?

  • Analogue devices not using assigned dial plan

    Hi,
We are using Tenor gateways for running analogue devices (fax, cordless phones) through Lync 2013. It works fine on our standard dial plan which all end-users are on. However, for a business reason, we need to do restricted dialing on the cordless phones
(e.g. dial a 5 digit access code to dial out).
The cordless phones exist in AD (created using new-csanalogdevice in the Lync Mgmt Shell) and I'm using the following command to assign the dial plan:
    get-csanalogdevice "My test phone" | grant-csdialplan -policyname "restrictedCallDialPlan(77777)" -v
When I run get-csanalogdevice "My test phone" | Select DialPlan I can see I am using the restricted dialling dial plan but the calls are not restricted - e.g. I can call my mobile phone as normal with out having to preceed the number with
    77777.
First thought was there was a configuration an issue with the dial plan. Checking it in the Lync Ctrl Panel it all looks fine, and it more importantly, it works as expected on Common Area Phones (Polycom CX500).
If I have to, I can do the restriction on the Tenor gateways but it's not a "nice" solution as the config gets messy. Ideally we'd like to do it in Lync so we can manage it all from one place.
Is anyone familiar with assigning dial plans to analogue extensions in Lync and know of a reason this wouldn't work?
    Many thanks

    Hello,
I experienced the same behaviour utilising analogue devices within Lync, during my research it appeared that while you can set a dial plan against an analogue device, this will never take affect and
will only inherit normalisation rules defined in the Global dial plan. Please see the following article below under the "Call Routing For Analogue Devices" section, around half way down this section it explains in details the grant-csdialplan behaviour
for an analogue device. In my case, I utilised a feature on the AudioCodes MediaPack devices which we were using for analogue connectivity in order to restrict dialling on a per port basis.

  • Obtaining call records from CDR

    I am running CCM 6.1
We need to pull our call records for a certain ext. THe problem i am having is in CDR is I go to CDR/search/User extensions and search.
It will only show 100 records and trunkcate the other. Now I need to pull 3 months worth and it would be to time consuming to do each day and copy it to a report.
I also attempted to goto device reports/gateway/detail and will puill ever 3 days the entire logs. This will put it in the PDF and allow me to search for that ext but its will not copy out of the PDF properly and I need to only show the ext I want.
Does anyone know a way I can get a detailed call report for only 1 ext that will not truncate the results? or another way I can access this.
In our older version of call manager (4.1) i was able to load sql and do a search on the DB and just copy the results out.

Since this old post is being revived, I should mention that in recent versions (too lazy to research exact) of CUCM, the syntax has changed slighty, and the above given command no longer works.
    The new syntax is:
run sql car select * from tbl_billing_data where originalcalledpartynumber='911'
EDIT: In our very own forum member Will's blog, he states it was a change from 7x to 8x:

You could create a application with Visual Studio linked to the SQL DB of CCM.
Crystal Reports has the capabilities as well.

  • Auto Call recording

    Hi Experts,
I have a query that is to have a call recording function on my blackburry curve 9220, which I feel this should come as basic feature on the smart phone, I did my homework on installing third party apps but still no luck.
I mainly use this phone for business purpose and recording certain conversation is very important since we always mail our clients/customers stating "As discussed" but at times they hit us back saying that they never discussed so this funtion will help us to do our business more effictive ways.
I am really unhappy with the service of blackberry.
Also, is their any phone support for Blackberry?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Madhan

I don't recall any call recorder for the 8520.
You would find any such app in AppWorld.

  • How to keep the Recent Call Record more than a week?

How to keep the Recent Call Record more than a week? I found the iPhone only can keep the Recent Call Record for only a week.

I have to disagree with your response with respect. My i phone is limiting me to call going back only 7 days ie today is 29 July and my call log will only go back to 22 July. I have only 40 calls logged for that period. I cannot view up to the 100 you mention. I have included all calls for a single caller as well ie one caller shows 7 so ive counted that as 7 calls. There appears no way to set up to 100 in the settings
