CUCM License counting and Alarm configuration with SMTP

Hi All UC Experts,
After the CUCM version 9 happened, the CUCM will become trail 60 days when the used UCL license is over.
Is it possible to set a SMTP alarm to inform the admin to purchase the UCL ASAP?
I checked the SMTP host configuration: If you want the system to send you e-mail, from the Certificate Expiry Monitor, for example, you must configure an SMTP host.

Hi Edwin,
There is no such feature available in ELM on version 9.x. Alarms for 'demo' and 'overage' are generated 7 days after the condition is detected.

Loan Licensing is a process mostly used in Pharmaceutical Industry in India, whereby the company which owns a particular brand or patent, lends the license to another manufacturer (Due to capacity bottlenecks or due to Cost advantages).
This is a form of sub-contracting which might involve supply of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) or otherwise. In case some of the raw materials (Mostly Active Ingredients) are supplied by the Company it would follow sub-contract process, else it could be an outright purchase process.

Dear Shekhar,
concerning EDI concept in SD: the EDI concept is intended to realize the sales and distribution process completely automatically with the help of electronical documents. These documents are sent from one customer to another, are processed mostly on the background and give a possibility to realize the sales process extremely efficiently.
If MM-customer would like to purchase the goods then he creates the IDOC of type ORDERS and send it to SD-customer. On the SD-side the IDOC is processed via the function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS and creates the sales order. As confirmation the SD-side can send to MM-side the Order-Response IDOC (function IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDERS). The MM-customer can every thime send a change to the existiong order, then on SD side the ORDCHG IDOC will be processed. It can change the order like in VA02. The creation of the invoice can be made via IDOC of message type INVOIC (function IDOC_OUTPUT_INVOIC).
So, the process can be realized completely automatically between SD and MM partners with the help of IDOCs: ORDERS, ORDCHG, ORDRSP, INVOIC.
That's all concerning the SD-EDI.
Additional processes in SD, where EDI are used:
1) application of delivery schedules to the scheduling agreement: IDOC of type DELINS
2) creation of a delivery order to the scheduling agreement: IDOC of type DELORD
3) creation of external agent service delivery to scheduling agreement: IDOC of type EDLNOT
4) creation of credit advice / credit memo in the frames of self-billing: IDOCs of type GSVERF, SBWAP and for external invoice creation SBINV.
It is all processes which are realized in the SD module via EDI.

UC560 - license counts and end-of-sale for license upgrades?

One of our customers would like to keep their UC560 system in production for awhile, but we may need to add licenses.
First, with the UC560 now past end-of-sale, how long will we be able to buy license upgrades? I could not find any information when I tried searching. It looks like the distributors are still selling L-UC-PRO-8U=.
Second, how does Cisco count the UC560 licenses? (I'm sure I knew this when I went through the training courses.) Here is their current license summary:

In one post, I read that the license count was based on the number of ephones. Based on this report, it looks like only registered ephones are being counted. It doesn't look like floating extensions or extension mobility user profiles count against the "Used User Licenses" total. Does that sound right?

Adobe doesn't care, they don't have to. I like Phsotoshop and have been using it professionally for 20 years, but lets face it, I wouldnt mind some really good competition from another source. It didnt use to be the only game in town, and doesnt have to remain so.
I could brainstorm how I would want competing software to look like. Pshop is not the easiest workflow possible. Illustrator is clearly deficient to even CorelDraw, and certainly Freehand. I've been meaning to reconnect with CorelDraw. It did some cool things.
Google Chrome is pulling a lot of manoevers software wise and I hope they try to go a little deeper and give Adobe a run for their money on the one program they feel justifies unbelievable gouging. Go investigate Ableton Live if you want to see what a company that cares about its customers is doing, ADOBE. Audition is a JOKE compared to Ableton Live. Thank God we're not powned on the audio side by these suits.
The idea that a company would peddle buggy software, which CS4 was..., although some of that was Apple's fault, is bad, the upgrade prices were ridiculous, and this is the end of the road for me currently. The idea that a company would actively
push away customers is pretty incredible. "But I sent you an email!" Whoops, you gotta pay $1900 for production premium CS6! HAHAHAHAHA. Time for a YT video with my old hard copy box. Sounds like a good idea.
There are too many options on the motion graphics side, and I'll keep a static machine to run Pshop and AE CS4.
The masters of the universe will have theit way, and the rest must bow to their ambivalent greed. At least that's the way they think. It would seem that Adobe and Apple really, really want some upstarts to come up. Maybe $360 for a year to figure out an exit might work. It will be interesting to see if this hits earnings. VERY interesting.

CUCM Licensing/ordering and demo licenses

Hello,
I am trying to setup a lab with CUCM and trying to figure out the process to place an order for CUCM. I know that you need DLU licneses for each phone, however do I need to buy a base license in addition to that? How does it work?
Also, does CUCM come with a demo license which I can use for my lab without ordering any additional licenses??
What are my options?
I alos tried to search the part/product numbers for CUCM ordering but was not able to find them on Cisco site. I am interested in buying CUCM 7.x.

Counter and comparator circuit with hc393 and hc85

I searched for a full schematic for building a comparator circuit and counter circuit that are connected to each other, using ics hc393 and hc85 but couldnt find any. Can san someone send me a schematic of this circuit?

Please have a look at this schematic:
HC393 ICs give us values from 0000 to 1111 (where QD is the most significant bit).
HC85 ICs has two 4-bit inputs (where A3 and B3 and the most significant bits) and compares them giving three digital outputs:
1. A > B
2. A = B
3. A B_I, A = B_I, A < B_I). Those are needed if you are working with 8-bit numbers.

Using Timer and Alarm functions with headphones

I would like to use the timer/alarm in a library setting to help me study. Even though I have my headphones connected properly (i.e. music only plays through the headphones) the timer/alarm notifications are coming through the external speaker. I can't find a way to adjust this. Am I missing something? Please help me stop getting dirty looks in the library. Thanks!

I just tried that. the calender alarm only goes off in the ear phones. But I am trying to work in intervals of 30mins work 10mins off, which would be a pain to fill my calendar with. At the moment, I am resorting to using the stop watch function. Thanks for the suggestion

Health Monitoring and Restart Configuration with Node Manager

We have a WL 9.2.2 instance setup using Node Manager to control it. It contains a JMS server with a persistant store that is in an oracle database. If the Oracle database becomes unavailable, the Weblogic server throws a number of errors eventually leaving the Managed Server in a "FAILED" state. I configuring/activated the following "Configuration - Health Monitoring" options for the managed server to have it automatically recover from this situation:
Health Check Interval: 180
Auto Kill If Failed: Checked
Auto Restart: Checked
Max Restarts Within Interval: 2
Restart Delay Seconds: 0
However it is not automatically restarting, even though the server shows in a "FAILED" state.
1st question: Do I need to restart the server with the settings above to have it react to the FAILED state? I would think that 3 minutes after I configured the above it would begin a restart on the FAILED server, but that does not happen
I also note on the "Configuration - OverLoad" page, there is a setting for "Failure Action:" that can be set to "Ignore, take no action" or "Force Immediate Shutdown of this server" I did configure/activate this for "Force immediate Shutdown..." but again the currently FAILED server does not restart.
2nd question: Does this "Configuration - Overload- Failure Action" setting override or effect in any way the configuration of restart on the "Configuration - Health Monitoring" page?
3rd question: Same as 1st question but for these Overload settings: Do they require a full restart of the managed server to somehow take effect?


Have you set the field : CrashRecoveryEnabled=true in file : ..\bea\weblogic92\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.properties ?

I know that the iWork family pack can be used for up to five computers, but what if I install it again on the same computer? Will the second installation count and leave me with three more installions?

If you reinstall iWork using the family pack on the same Mac, it won't count as a second Mac, so you will be able to install it legally on four more Macs

Cisco ISE license count

Hello,
I noticed a weird issue on my ISE deployment. The Active Endpoints and Active Guests Counters on the ISE home page adds to a total of 105 users but when i check my license counter. I see 234 base licenses used and 221 advanced licenses used. Please what could be the problem or what am i missing?

Ok, I've had thie issue with various email address on and off for aout a year now. I finally found a soulution:
Login to the Google account giving you problems;
Go to: https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
Hit "Continue".
Go to Apple Mail and hit "Get Mail" for that account.
Repeat for each account continually asking for password.

AuthenticationFailedException when using JNDI and JavaMail with SMTP auth

Hi all - I've been banging my head on this one for awhile now - hopefully someone else has done this.
We are working in a servlet container (tomcat), and need obtain a mail session from JNDI. We do this as follows:

msg.saveChanges();
trans.sendMessage(msg, msg.getAllRecipients());and finally, I close the transport:
trans.close();Unfortunately, I'm still getting the exception. Is it possible that my connect() method is not picking up the JNDI properties set in the server.xml file (this seems likely)? If so, what's the best way for me to get those properties so I can set them explicitly in the connect() method?

I have faced the same problem and after some googling and trying I have discovered what causes the AuthenticationFailedException exception. I just wanted to share the knowedge maybe it will be helpfull to others.
Here it is what the API says:
To use SMTP authentication you'll need to set the mail.smtp.auth property (see below) and provide the SMTP Transport with a username and password when connecting to the SMTP server. You can do this using one of the following approaches:
1.Provide an Authenticator object when creating your mail Session and provide the username and password information during the Authenticator callback.
Note that the mail.smtp.user property can be set to provide a default username for the callback, but the password will still need to be supplied explicitly.
This approach allows you to use the static Transport send method to send messages.
2.Call the Transport connect method explicitly with username and password arguments.
This approach requires you to explicitly manage a Transport object and use the Transport sendMessage method to send the message. The transport.java demo program demonstrates how to manage a Transport object. The following is roughly equivalent to the static Transport send method, but supplies the needed username and password:
Using the Transport.connect makes the JNDI not very helpfull for configuration.
It seems that using just the mail.smtp.user and mail.smtp.pass is not sufficient for the authentication.
so, the solution is :
just place these to lines in the JNDI configuration:
 username="test"
 password="test1"
so it should looks as follows:

 type="javax.mail.Session"
 username="test"
 password="test1"
 mail.transport.protocol="smtp"

We are facing a problem While configuring a mail via SMTP for Exchange Server 2003.

Unless we provide a Username and password, the Send/Receive process does not happen.
Is there any option in SAP - SMTP Mail Configuration to Provide user and password Authentication.

Diagnosis
The message was processed successfully in the SAP system. The mail server that is to receive the message for further processing requires authentication. Probably there is no logon data specified in the SAPconnect configuration.
Information from external system (if available)
smtp.gmail.com:587
530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. i91sm11178241qgd.25 - gsmtp
Procedure
Enter the logon data in the SAPconnect node.
Using Gmail SMTP server using "smtp.gmail.com" with port 587

Need Urgent Help on Meeting Place Integration with CUCM 7.1 and AS5400 PSTN Gateway

This is first time I am on this forum.
I have already tried going through a lot of docs on docwiki.cisco.com but couldn't find complete configuration help.
I have to integrate Meeting Place 8.X with an existing CUCM and an E1 gateway (PSTN Gateway) AS5400.
The CUCM is already part of a Telepresence Environment. I need to create a SIP trunk between AS5400 and CUCM 7.1 and then create a Trunk between AS5400 and Cisco Unified MP 8.X and then between CUMP and CUCM.
I need help on AS5400 SIP Configs as well as parameters I need to cover on CUCM (Though I have done some basic dial-peer configs but they haven't been of much help).
Then I also need help on AS5400 SIP configs with CUMP 8.0
Any docs on Integration between CUMP and TP3000 will be of great help too.

I can get the Ricoh to register as sip endpoint, it answeres then imediatly disconnects. Doing a monitor with Wireshark looks like it attempts to negotiate t38 but fails. Any idea why this fails?

License for CUCME on router and phones

We purchased a cisco 2911 voice router with CUCME 25 user license and now we want to but the cisco voip phones. My question is - do we need to buy the phones with their individual CUCME licenses or not? the voip phones are cisco 6945.
