CUCM Replication status of 3

Hi Everyone
We had some work done on our CUCM cluster and when it was done the nodes all have a status of 3 except the publisher which is a 2.
How serious is a 3 and will this cause any major issues with the performance of the system.
Eric

Replications state of 3 means that tables are suspect. This can happen because the other servers are unsure if  there is an  update to a user facing feature that has not been passed  from that sub  to the other device in the cluster.
Steps to fix are given in the following link

  • Cucm replication status Off-Line

    Hello Everyone!!!
I've faced to strange issue. I have 1 publisher and 6 subscribers. After reinstalling one of subscribers, database replication status of this
subscriber shows 4.  Unified CM Database Status shows that files hosts, rhosts, sqlhosts are ok.
In Replication Server List (cdr list serv) reinstalled subscriber contain nothing. And it doesn't appear in another subscribers.
All other subscribers including publisher have database replication status 2.
Maybe anyone have idea how to solve this problem?

If the standard dbreplication stop on subscribers, then publisher, then reset all from the publisher doesn't do the job (and by the way replication will take awhile before the subscriber status turns to 2, you can see progress under utils dbreplication runtimestate), then I would suggest using clusterreset on the publisher (use Cisco documentation to see how this is done). But this is only if you see that you can't get it working for you with the standard solution.
I had similar problems not long ago after reinstalling a publisher, sometimes replication needs a bit of tough love :) After stopping replication on all subscribers, then publisher, then performing clusterreset on Publisher and tailing the log file to see when it's done (a few hours), I reset the replication and the cluster was good to go.

  • CUCM Database Replication Status MIB

    Hi Guys,
Can you please help me whether we could monitor CCM database replication status through SNMP MIB or OID..
Also please guide me in how to configure SNMP traps for the MIBS??
    Regards,
    Indrajith PC

    Hi,
please take a look at the CUCM serviceability guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/service/9_0/admin/CUCM_BK_C136FE37_00_cisco-unified-serviceability-administration-90/CUCM_BK_C136FE37_00_cisco-unified-serviceability-administration-guide_preface_00.html
I'm afraid there's no trap generated when DB replication issues occur, so you might want to do periodic polling.
The above referenced document contains some basic information which MIB's may be interesting to you and how to get them.
Personally, I would download and register them all, and then just walk the whole tree and cherrypick ;-)

  • CUCM Subscriber status error 4

    Good Day,
I have a CUCM 6.1(2) installed. If I do a " utils dbreplication status " the publisher shows status 2 ok. The Subscriber shows status 4.
We re-installed the subscriber the second time now and also removed and added the server to the publisher again. Still we have the problem with the Subscriber.
Do anyone have an answer to this?

How many servers do you have in your cluster?  Typcailly since CUCM 6 has a fully messed database if the publisher is in state 2 that would indicate good connections to all other servers.  I wonder if the publisher doesn't have an entry for the subscriber which is why the publisher thinks the connections are good but the subscriber's setup failed due to the same missing entry.  Can you run the Cisco Unified Reporting Tool and run a new report for "Unified CM Database Status" and post the result please?  If the publisher really thought it was on only node in the cluster you'd see replication status of 0 - initializing.  After seeing the report I'll let you know what to do next.

  • SQL 2012 Transactional Replication Publisher is also AG Primary, AG fine, but Replication status continuously 'waiting for next Log backup'

    Hi,
I have a SQL 2012 instance that hosts 3 databases that are publishers in (push) transactional replication to subscribers in other domains and are also primary in an Availability Group to other instances in the same domain.  The AG is healty (synchronized),
and replication is ok for 2 databases, but the third continuously shows the Publisher to Distributor history status as 'Replicated transactions are waiting for next Log backup or for mirroring to catch up.'
I have weekly full, nightly differential, and hourly log.  Those are running and I've tested restoring the publisher db from them into a test instance.  The option for sync_with_backup is 0.  I generated a new snapshot, no change (haven't
reinitialized, that will be last possible option as this is production).  When the log backups run, status will briefly change to 'Approximately (x) log records have been scanned in pass # ..., 0 of which were marked for replication' and some data
does replicate, but then status immediately changes back to the message about waiting for log backup.   We are only replicating tables (no views, sp's, etc).  All subscribers and AG secondaries are SQL 2012.  My db is less than 200
    GB data.
The jobs are continuously running and data updates are occurring on the primary.  The distribution database is on the same instance as the publishers.  Anyone have any ideas what could be happening?
    Thanks greatly!

    Update - I resolved this.
We had added a new asynchronous instance to the AG, but hadn't added the databases on the new node to the AG yet.  Conceptually it seems that adding the instance must have marked the logs and interferred with transactional replication on the
primary.  Once I added the databases to the AG on the secondary, then the replication status cleared on the primary and has remained cleared.  It is odd though that it only impacted one of the databases in the AG.
    cheers.

  • Command for replication status

Sorry I have so many questions.
This question regarding the status of replication. In 4.16, I can run a command to get the replication status that saying idle[in sync]. So I know replication is working fine. But 5.1, it seems does not have such words in replication status. From GUI, it just say last update message. How can I know the replication status by command line instead of GUI? Just by the last update message " ...update successfully", can I tell the replication works? What about if nothing need to update and one of the master down? For such scenerio, the replicaion should be down. How an tell it by a command line?
    Thanks
    Iris

I believe there is a perl script in the iDS 5.1 resource kit called replcheck.pl (?) that will monitor and update replication status.

  • Find replication status for individual content engine?

Anyone know how to find the replication status (% complete) for a particular content engine in a Content Distribution Network? Right now I can only see it for channels, so the only way I can see is a work-around -- put the content engines in individual channels... Since I have 100s of CEs and that's more than the CDM allows, that won't work for me..
    Any other ideas? Thanks

You can use box-links to see the replication status. This is done using the following url
    http:///cgi-bin/status/cache
Scroll down to the Cache section. There are 2 parts size and current size. This is a good the exact indication item by item of replication.

  • CUCM Replication after a restore

    Hi All,
I have just completed a restore of a CUCM 9.1.1.20000-5 Publisher and Subscriber, all seems to be ok however replication is broken bewteen the two servers.
When I run "utils dbreplication runtimestate" from the publisher, it fails with the following:
    admin:utils dbreplication runtimestate
DB and Replication Services: ALL RUNNING
DB CLI Status: No other dbreplication CLI is running...
Cluster Replication State: BATCHING SYNC Requests from nodes at: 2013-12-06-14-59
Sync Request Progress: Received 1 node requests for DB sync
         Sync Request Errors: NO ERRORS

        (rhostname, aliaslist, ipaddrlist) = socket.gethostbyaddr(temp[1])
socket.herror: (2, 'Host name lookup failure')
when i check the DB status from the reports, my pubnlisher is status = 3 (bad) and the publisher is status = 4 (initializing)
I have tried to reset the replication etc but dont seem to be getting anywhere.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jason

    THanks Guys,
    No issues with the restore.
Nothing changed in regrads to hostname, ip, etc.  All details were kept the same.
The new hardwrae is a VMserver, we are testing the backup and restore process in the event of a DR failure.
All looks to be working Ok, phones are registered and making calls updates made to DN and Users and being replicatied but the Replica state is still showing 3 - Bad.
I have working through the doc that Ajay has mentioned, and replication foes through the steps and I can see it initalising but then after a while it go back to state 3.
    Thanks

  • How to check DFS replication status in windows 2008 r2 file server

    Hi,
I have created File server DFS namespace between 2 windows 2008 R2 server. namespace mode is 2008. I have copied 3 TB data on file server 1. now it is getting replicated from file server 1 to file server 2. till now the data is not fully replicated.
My question is how can I check the status of DFS replication? how will I come to know that the initial replication is completed.

Scorpio. Yes you are right. Microsoft officially says it will not work. My apologies. Thanks for the correction.
Do Ultrasound and Sonar work with DFS Replication?
No. DFS Replication has its own set of monitoring and diagnostics tools. Ultrasound and Sonar are only capable of monitoring FRS.
Is there a way to know the state of replication?
Yes. There are a number of ways to monitor replication:
DFS Replication has a management pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007 that provides proactive monitoring.
DFS Replication has an in-box diagnostic report for the replication backlog, replication efficiency, and the number of files and folders in a given replication group.
Dfsrdiag.exe is a command-line tool that can generate a backlog count or trigger a propagation test. Both show the state of replication. Propagation shows you if files are being replicated to all nodes. Backlog shows you how many files still need to replicate
before two computers are in sync. The backlog count is the number of updates that a replication group member has not processed. On computers running Windows Server 2008 R2, Dfsrdiag.exe can also display the updates that DFS Replication is currently
    replicating.
Scripts can use WMI to collect backlog information—manually or through MOM.

  • Replication Status UNKNOWN?

I have a data suffix serving Solaris configuration information, and the DSCC suffix both configured for multi-master replication over SSL ports. I have tested them in every way that I've been able to think of thus far, and they appear to be working. What is confusing me is the output of the status command (both suffixes show similar output):
    $ dsconf show-repl-agmt-status -p 3998 -w /var/opt/SUNWdsee7/dcc/ads/config/dsadmpwd cn=dscc host1.company.com:3999
Unable to bind securely on "host1.company.com:3999" with the specified credentials.
    Configuration Status : UNKNOWN
    Authentication Status : UNKNOWN
    Initialization Status : UNKNOWN
    Status : Enabled
    Last Update Date : Oct 20, 2010 2:00:26 PM
There are two things bothering me:
First, the "Unable to bind securely" line. If it can't bind securely, then how is the data replicating?
Second, how should I interpret the "UNKNOWN" status? Is this normal with SSL? If not, what should I be looking at?
    Thank you,
    Chris

If one of the DS instances that you have set replication with is a DS5.x version, status UNKNOWN is an expected behavior.
The reason is dsconf check the remote server for a "magic number" to identify the revision of the server which is a new feature is 6.x and above.

  • Replication status ( ttrepadmin -showstatus DSN command ) output problem

    Hi
    I have some question.
    We used 4-way (2-way Active<ttwell01,ttwell02> and 2-way backup<ttwell03,ttwell04> node) replication architecture.
ttwell01 / ttwell02node of the "stop" was changed Using the following command in ttwell03 node.
    ttwell03 $> ttisql TEST3
    call ttsubscriberstateset('REP1','SCOTT','TEST1','ttwell01',2);
    call ttsubscriberstateset('REP1','SCOTT','TEST2','ttwell02',2);
Then, through the built-in procedure seems to check the status of the stop.
    ttwell03 $> ttisql TEST3
    Command> columnlabels 1;
    Command> call ttreplicationstatus;
SUBSCRIBER, HOSTNAME, PORT, PSTATE, LOGS, LASTMSG, REPLICATIONNAME, REPLICATIONOWNER
    < TEST1, ttwell01, 0, stop , 0, 0, REP1 , SCOTT >
    < TEST2, ttwell02, 0, stop , 0, 0, REP1 , SCOTT >
    < TEST4, ttwell04, 0, start , 1, 0, REP1 , SCOTT >
    3 rows found.
    Command> call ttlogholds;
    HOLDLFN, HOLDLFO, TYPE, DESCRIPTION
    < 74937, 3601744, Checkpoint , TEST3.ds0 >

    < 74938, 103192920, Replication , ttwell04:TEST4 >
    3 rows found.
However, "ttrepadmin-showstatus DSN" If you look at the state command to have been started as shown below.
         ttwell03 $> ttrepadmin -showstatus TEST3

    Hi,
I have searched for the error message, and it points to corrupt public folder database for most cases.
So I would recommend you first try the Eseutil/Isinteg tool to repair the public folder database, for your reference:
    http://exchangeserver.tumblr.com/post/44851518519/how-to-repair-exchange-databases-with-eseutil-isinteg .
If it doesn’t work, please per the link below to restore public folder:

  • Sun 7210 - continous replication status?

I have about 1 terabyte of data, and I set up a continuous rep at the project level. It's been running for a few days now without interruption.
The target does not show anything under "Replica" in the projects or shares.
The source says "Continous" with the little animated bar in the project replication tab, but there is no actual progress bar or percentage completed information.
How do I know if it's actually replicated anything over? Will it say something when it finishes replicating the first package?
Is there a command line I can use to look at the package size on the target to compare it to the source?

After a few days, server comes to normal function...
Error logs not show some problem....
