Cumulative Column - Date Range

Hi,
we have defined a sales cube with following strucuture (example)
example (sample data as stored in info cube)
Date   company_code sales_value
050905      C1            $2300
060905      c1           $2000
070905      c1           $2500
Now the expected output in reporting is
Date   company_code sales_value Sales_value_cumulative
050905      C1            $2300           $2300
060905      c1           $2000           $4300
070905      c1           $2500           $6800
(note:- sales_value_cumulative is cumulative columns depend upon the input date range)
Please help.
Cheers
Rajiv

you will be better off with the two columns.
there aren't any other options built-in... but even though it'd be possible to (custom dev) add a "date range" field, it wouldn't be nearly as useful as you'd like it to be.

    How to change the year in a range of column dates to the new year?

    Depends on the pattern of the dates. The last procedure will work for any pattern, or no pattern at all.
    For examples.the dates are assumed to be in column A, starting at A2
    Sequential dates?
    Enter first updated date in the first cell.
    Enter =A2+1 in cell A3. Copy the cell.
    Select A3 to the end of the list. Paste.
    With the cells still selected, Copy, then go Edit > Paste Values.
    Evenly spaced dates?
    Same procedure as above, but replace +1 in the formula with + and the number of days between dates in the list.
    Randomly spaced dates?
    Select cell B2. Press option-left arrow to insert a (temporary) column to the left of column B.
    Click on the empty cell B2 in the new column. Enter the formula below:
    =DATE(YEAR(A)+1,MONTH(A),DAY(A))
    Copy the cell, then select B2 - Bn where n is the last ow containing a date to be converted. Paste,
    With the cells still selected, Copy.
    Click on A2, then go Edit > Paste values.
    Click on the column B reference tab to select all of column B.
    Hover the mouse over the right end of the reference tab, and click the black triangle when it appears.
    Choose Delete Column from the menu that appears.

  • How to prompt date range for a single column in reports

    Hi All,
    I am having a prompt which shows from date and to date, both these columns will come from day column of calendar .We want that our report values should be between the from date and to date.Can someone tell me how can this be achieved.Because if we build a report we will pull day column from calendar and say its prompted.How can we get the condition that day clumn should be between from date and to date of prompt.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Amrit

    Hi vineet,
    Thanks for your reply
    I am having one prompt where we will have two columns from date and to date, both these columns are coming from same column called day in mth_calendar.I am having 1 report where the date range should lie between from date and to date of prompt.In this case should I use your second suggestion or the first one.
    Thanks,

  • Calculated Date Range in Lookup Column

    I want to have a lookup column on a list called Report Week.  The report week is a date range between Sun and Sat.  I could easily make a column of ranges in a seperate list and then use it as a lookup but I am hoping for something more
    elegant.  What I envision is the user selecting the Date Range lookup in a list item and the date ranges shown are the previous, current and upcoming weeks.  So the dropdown list would look like this:
    09/20/14 - 09/26/14
    09/27/14 - 10/03/14
    10/04/14 - 10/10/14
    Can this be done w/out using .NET?  Thanks in advance.

    more or less, you need three calculated columns (well, you may be able to do it in just the one, but it'll be obnoxious to write the formulas)...
    - start date
      => DateAdd([date field], 0 - (dayofweek([datefield]))
            basically, subtract the day of week from the reference date... this should give you the sunday that starts the week
    - end date
      => DateAdd([date field], 7 - (dayofweek([datefield]))
            basically the same, except this adds the remaining number of days in the week, to give you the saturday that ends the week
    - range (description)
      => concatenate([start date], " - ", [end date])
    you may need to fiddle with the formulas a little bit... run them in excel to tweak them.

  • Date range column in SharePoint List?

    I have a request to provide a date range in a custom list. Other than providing two Date columns in a custom list, any recommendations on a snazzier way to provide this?

  • Interactive Column Chart w/Sliding Date Range?

    I've created a stacked column chart in Numbers 3.0. It displays stacked data for a one week period using seven columns, one for each weekday. Is it possible to make an interactive version of this chart that would still display all seven stacked columns, but allow me to use a slider control to adjust the date range? Ideally I'd like the slider to adjust the date range one day at a time, so I have a rolling 7 day view of my data.
    Any suggestions?

    Data is the original data table.
    Set Start is a four cell table with A2 set as a Slider, range 1 - 100, and the formula below in B2:
    B2: =OFFSET(Data :: $A$1,A,0)
    Cell B2 is for display only. It offers live feedback to the user while setting the beginning date for the chart, but is not used in the calculations in For Chart.
    For Chart is a Summary table containing the headers shown.
    There is one formula in this table, entered in A2, then filled right to D2, and down to row 8:
    A2: =OFFSET(Data :: $A$1,ROW()-2+Set Start :: $A$2,COLUMN()-1)
    The chart draws its information from For Chart. Here is a second chart image using the same data table. The only change is that the user has reset the slider to a larger value. The start date on this chart is the same as the last date on the one above.

  • No Data in Reports Details in Custom date range

    Hello, iTunes U Public Site Manager Admins.
    As the iTunes U Public Site Manager admin, I've been trying to access our institution's iTunes U Reports Details for a couple of days. (I send a monthly report of usage to our course/collection contributors.) When I custom the date range, under Details, there is zero entry; "No data available in table" message is shown.
    This feature had been working well since Apple iTunes U added this enhancement on August 13, 2013. The report Details showed the exact stats for Browse, Subscribe, Download, Stream, and Enclosure for each course/collection in the custom date range.
    Now under "Details", the data is shown only when the date range is Last 30 Days. It shows no data in custom date range when the Calendar is used to select a Start Date and End Date.
    Has anyone else noticed this problem?
    Thanks.
    Q. Wang

    Erik.
    I used your suggestion and it worked very well. This is how I did it.
    Export the range of data that includes Feb. 1-Feb. 28, 2014 as .tsv file.
    Open that file in Excel.
    Add a blank column next to the Date column. Use function =Month() to just extract the month into the new column. Fill down the whole column. Then copy and paste special (value) into the same column (I have over 26,000 rows of data in the file.) Converting to Value will allow for the next step of PivotTable.
    Create a PivotTable for the 26,000 rows of data. Use Month as the Report filter, iTunes_ID as the Row Labels, Select Browse, Subscribe, etc. as the Sum Values. (The result is a summary table with about 200 rows.)
    I then do a Vlookup to my premade Master file to add Category (course, collection, resources) and Instructor Name to each of the 200 rows.
    That will do it for my monthly report.
    Thanks for your tip again. I did not know the .tsv file would have DATE for each item.
    Sincerely,
    Q. Wang

  • Continious data range algorithm

    I have in my database table 2 important date columns: StartDate (Not null) and EndDate(Allowed Null).
    I want to ensure that all records in the table would always create perfect contiues date ranges with no holes inside.
    Wor example there may not be records [1-may..1-may, 3-may-...] because there would be a hole [2-may...2-may]. Holes are not allowed.
    And overlapping is not allowed, for example [1-may..1-may, 1-may-2may, 3-may-...] is not allowed because overlapping occures on day 1-may. Overlapping and holes are not allowed. But it is allowed that table has no records at all. But all DML manipulations with existing records must ensure that overlapping and holes won't occur.
    How to write such check? How to ensure that data ranges would stay continous with no holes and no overlaps?
    Oracle 11g.

    You're setting the wrong value for the start of a group when there is no (null) lagging end date. In my example I set the value to 0 when it was null as I was expecting each group to start at 1. In your case you've set the date to 1/1/1900 which isn't necessarily the day before the first start date of the group. Instead just default it to the start date - 1 to force a match...

  • Date range query  problem  in report

    Hi all,
    I have created a report based on query and i want to put date range selection but query giving problem.
    If i am creating select list selection then it is working fine means it will display all records on the particular date.
    But what i need is that user will enter date range as creation_date1,creation_date2 and query should return all the records between these date range. i want to pass it by creating items, i created two items and passing creation_date range to display all records but not displaying and if not passing date then should take null as default and display all records
    Here is the query:
    /* Formatted on 2006/12/10 20:01 (Formatter Plus v4.8.0) */
    SELECT tsh."SR_HEADER_ID", tsh."SALES_DEPT_NUMBER", tsh."COUNTRY",
    tsh."LOCAL_REPORT_NUMBER", tsh."ISSUE_DATE", tsh."SUBJECT",
    tsh."MACHINE_SERIAL_NUMBER", tsh."MACHINE_TYPE", tsh."MACHINE_HOURS",
    tsh."STATUS"
    FROM "TRX_SR_HEADERS" tsh, "TRX_SR_PARTS" tsp

    UPPER ('&APP_USER.'))
    AND SYSDATE >= valid_from)
    AND tsh.sr_header_id = tsp.sr_header_id
    can any one tell me wat is wroung in this query.
    Any other way to write this?
    Thank You,
    Amit

    Hi User....
    Here is some date range SQL that my teams uses with some success:
    For date columns that do not contain NULL values, try this (note the TRUNC, it might help with your "today" problem).
    The hard coded dates allow users to leave the FROM and TO dates blank and still get sensible results (ie a blank TO date field asks for all dates in the future.
    AND TRUNC(DATE_IN_DATABASE)
    BETWEEN
    decode( :P1_DATE_FROM,
    TO_DATE('01-JAN-1900'),
    :P1_DATE_FROM)
    AND
    decode( :P1_DATE_TO,
    TO_DATE('31-DEC-3000'),:
    :P1_DATE_TO)
    For date columns that contain NULL values, try this (a little bit trickier):
    AND nvl(TRUNC(DATE_IN_DATABASE),
    decode( :P1_DATE_FROM,
    decode( :P1_DATE_TO,
    TO_DATE('30-DEC-3000'),
    NULL),
    NULL)
    BETWEEN
    decode( :P1_DATE_FROM,
    TO_DATE('01-JAN-1900'),
    :P1_DATE_FROM)
    AND
    decode( :P1_DATE_TO,
    TO_DATE('31-DEC-3000'),
    :P1_DATE_TO)
    Note the 30-DEC-3000 versus 31-DEC-3000. This trick returns the NULL dates when the FROM and TO date range items are both blank.
    I hope this helps.
    By the way, does anyone have a better way of doing this? The requirement is given a date column in a database and a FROM and a TO date item on a page,
    find all of the dates in the database between the FROM and TO dates. If the FROM date is blank, assume the user want all dates in the past (excluding NULL dates). If the TO date is blank, assume that the user wants all of the dates in the future (excluding NULL dates). If both FROM and TO dates are blank, return all of the dates in the databse (including NULL dates).
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • Report for a date range

    Hi,
    My end user requires me to develop a report that will accept the following parameters:
    Customer Code : ABC
    From Period : 01-Jan-2005
    To Period : 31-Dec-2010
    Output must be as follows :
    Customer Jan-05 Feb-05 Mar-05 Apr-05 May-05 ......................................Dec-10 Total Order
    Code
    ABC 10 15 5 20 10 ...................................... 15 X value
    I have told my end user that it is not possible to create an Oracle report that will give data for any period range that the user specifies. First the number of columns for the date range must be fixed like say at a time only data for 12 months will be displayed in the report. Then they can run the report for any year and the parameter has to be
    Customer Code : ABC
    Year :2005
    The output will be :
    Customer Jan-05 Feb-05 Mar-05 Apr-05 May-05 ......................................Dec-05 Total Order
    Code
    ABC 10 15 5 20 10 ...................................... 15 X value
    Am I right or wrong ? Please advise. This is very urgent.

    I don't see why this should not be possible.
    Remember that you can have repeating frames in every direction (ie. right and down) and can combine these.
    What I would do is look for (or create) a type of calender-table where I could select the date values from (ie. JAN 05) qualified by the from- and to-Parameters (aka query1),
    then have a second, dependent query which uses the date from the calender (aka query2).
    Then stack a down repeating frame for query2 into the right repeating frame for query1 and you should be almost there... Use the date from query1 as heading...
    Cheers,
    Jens Rettig

    and so on...So each row represents a patient-month, and you want to display several columns from the temp table on each output row. In that case, include all those columns in both the SELECT and GROUP BY clauses, like this:
    WITH     universe     AS
         SELECT     *
         FROM     temp
    --     WHERE     patient_id     IN (42972229)

         ,     TRUNC (MAX (disch_dt_tm))     AS last_date
         FROM     universe
    ,     all_dates     AS
         SELECT     first_date + LEVEL - 1     AS a_date
         FROM     date_range
         CONNECT BY     LEVEL     <= (last_date + 1) - first_date
    SELECT    u.doctor_id
    ,       u.patient_id

    In the end the objective is to count the no. of days in each month between the arrival and discharge dates by Physician and for his/her patients.Then is the output above really what you want? Say you're interested in physician 763305. That physician had 18-patient days in March, 2013, but the output doesn't make it clear.
    I ran your query, it works great but I have a long list of patients for whom I have to run these counts.the query above includes all patient_ids.
    That's a separate problem, to be solved in the first sub-query, universe. The rest of the query will be unchanged.
    How will you know which patients to include? If you can derive the list from temp itself, just use a WHERE clause in universe. If you need to look at other tables, join them in universe, or use them in sub-queries in universe, or both.
    For exmple, if you decide that the list of patient_ids has no pattern, and that you'll need to store their ids in a separate table (perhaps a global temporary table), then universe might be:
    WITH     universe     AS
         SELECT     t.*     -- or list columns needed
         FROM     temp                        t
         JOIN     patient_ids_to_include  p
                      ON  p.patient_id = t.patient_id
    ) ...The rest of the query can be the same as above.
    If a same patient is admitted again then Patient_ID will be different no matter when readmitted.Are you saying that patient_id identifies a visit, not a patient, and that the same person is assigned a different patient_id every time that person is admitted?
    For
    INSERT INTO temp (doctor_id, patient_id, arrive_dt_tm, disch_dt_tm)
    VALUES ( 755722
    , 42972229
    , TO_DATE ('03/14/2013 23:00', 'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI')
    , TO_DATE ('04/01/2013 12:00', 'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI')
    First the Patient ID will be different from the earlier admission. Second the results will show like:
    Doctor_ID     Patient_ID     ARRIVE_DT_TM     DISCH_DT_TM     Month     CountofDays
    755722     42972229     3/14/2013 23:00     4/1/2013 12:00     2012 03     14
    755722     42972229     3/14/2013 23:00     4/1/2013 12:00     2012 04     1Are you saying that temp.patient_id is unique, and so the situation is impossible?

  • Function to list the month from a date range?

    I would like to know what the function is that would take a look at a date range, and extract the month name
    Here is how I would like it to come out:

    February table is the same as January table except for the value in C1.
    And the following sample tables are using date per se instead of month name to filter the data. In this scheme, you don't need month column in source table but the retrieving formulae in destination table become more complex.

    Formula in January::B2 can be filled down across January::B2:B9.
    The target month is defined in January::C1, which can be any date in target month, e.g., 2013-01-01, 2013-01-20, etc. The formulae in B will retrieve data with date in range: 2013-01-01 <= [date] <= 2013-01-31.
    February table is the same as January table except for the value in C1.
    Tables are built in Numbers v2.
    Hope this may help,
    H
    EDIT: Replaced the last table with the correct one. (Formulae in B are correct)

  • How would you send a date-range parameter to a SQL sproc?

    Team,
    MY ENVIRONMENT
    SQL 2005, Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005
    MY PROBLEM
    I am authoring both a sproc and a report, so I have full control over the design. I am a SQL expert and also a Crystal 8.5 expert.
    I have done the Sproc-Report connection dozens of times.
    Please consider along with me the sequence of creating a report based on a parameterized stored procedure.
    My sproc header is shown here:
    CREATE Procedure dbo.usp_DocumentActivityReport(
         @Department NVARCHAR(50)
       , @DateRange  NVARCHAR(50)
    ) AS
    SELECT Col1, Col2, Col3 FROM #TEMP
    MY THOUGHT PROCESS
    @DEPARTMENT is a string. That's easy.
    @DATERANGE is a DATE RANGE and I don't know how to get Crystal Reports to prompt for a date range, so I used a String parameter knowing I can parse a specially formatted string, and knowing that I can use a formula to compute the string.
    Step 1. Create the blank report, the {?Department} parameter, the {?CreationDateRange} report parameter, and the {@DateRangeText} conversion formula that converts {?CreationDateRange} to the specially formatted string.
    Step 2. Test the stored procedure.
    Tests pass; It returns data when I run it with values, with zero-length string values, and with NULL values.
    Step 3. Tie the report to the stored procedure.
    Adding the sproc directly creates two hard-wired, undeletable parameters, and returns data columns. That's no good because the user must supply the specially formatted string for the date range. So, I try using Add Command instead, with this syntax:
    {call "EXP_TEST"."dbo"."usp_CorroDocumentActivityReport" (N'{?Department}', N'{@DateRangeText}')}
    This code is accepted, but Add Command did not create any undeletable parameters at all. I guess that's OK.
    But the worst part is that it does not show any output columns with data either! AAARGH!
    Please assist with showing me the proper order to do these steps.
    BTW, here's the VB Syntax formula for {@DateRangeText}:
    Dim min As String
    dim max as String
    if HasLowerBound ({?CreationDateRange}) then
      min = ToText(Minimum({?CreationDateRange}),"MM/dd/yyyy")
    else
      max = ""
    end if
    if HasUpperBound ({?CreationDateRange}) then
      max = ToText(Maximum({?CreationDateRange}),"MM/dd/yyyy")
    else
      max = ""
    end if
    if IncludesLowerBound ({?CreationDateRange}) then
      min = "[" & min
    else
       if HasLowerBound ({?CreationDateRange}) then min = "(" & min
    end if
    if IncludesUpperBound ({?CreationDateRange}) then
        max = max & "]"
    else
       if HasUpperBound ({?CreationDateRange}) then max = max & ")"
    end if
    'formula = min & "..." & max
    formula = "(1/1/2009...3/1/2009)"

  • How to get XLR to show BPs with no transaction data for a given date range

    Hi -
    I am building an XLR report that does a comparison of net sales data across two periods for a given sales employee's BPs.
    The report has the row expansion:
    FACT BPA(*) SLP(SlpName = "ASalesPersonNameHere") ARDT(Code = "ARCreditMemo", "Invoice") Group by BPA.CardName
    and column expansions:
    FIG(SO_TaxDate = @StartDate:@EndDate)
    and
    FIG(SO_TaxDate = @StartDate2:@EndDate2)
    where @StartDate, @EndDate, @StartDate2, @EndDate2 are parameters that define the two ranges of dates.
    The column formulas are, from left to right:
    =ixDimGet("BPA", "CardName")
    =ixGet("SO_DocTotal")      <-- filtered by column expansion for first date range
    =ixGet("SO_DocTotal")      <-- filtered by column expansion for second date range
    The report works fine except for one problem, I would like it to include BPs for which no transaction occurred in either date range as well.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Lang Riley

    Really appreciate your feedback!  Those are good suggestions. I should have mentioned that I had already tried both those suggestions.
    Removing FACT on BPA in this case ends up returning all the BPs and not respecting the SLP(SlpName = "aName") part of the query.
    Using **, i.e., * or #NULL, makes no change in the resulting data in this case.  I had thought that ** would be the solution, but it didn't change the outcome.  I still have BPs for which when their sales employee is used as the filter and they have no transactions for either date range, and yet they still do not appear.
    I should further mention that the IXL query, as it now stands, does return BPs for which one of the periods has no data, just not both, and I have verified that applicable BPs with no transaction data for both periods do exist in my data set.  It seems that perhaps the IXL query needs to be restructured?  Please keep the suggestions coming including how this query might be restructured if necessary.
