CURL output from HANA Server
Hi all,
I have to ask this, 'cause it is quite annoying when you are debugging something and your console is showing the cURL output all the time, every ~20 sec, a new connection is done, with the corresponding output:
This output is the connection to our HANA Server, and, just guessing, DI API connects through cURL to there, Am I right? if yes, please, tell me how I can stop this output.
We already try the --silence command directly on the server, but without successful result.
Thanks in advance
sorry.. issue in wrong forum.. its concerning Visual Composer..

Unable to view PDF output from Report Server
Help!
I have successfully setup CGI Report Server and can generate and view reports in IE5 as HTML repformat.
However when I try to generate output as PDF I do not get the report displayed. Instead I get a little acrobat icon displayed in the top left of the browser window.
When I click on the icon I get a IE5 message:
"There is no viewer available for the type of object you are trying to open....
Content Type: application/pdf"
...and then insists on taking me to Microsoft activex plugin page.
This is very stange as I DO have Adobe Acrobat Reader 4 installed and the plugin works ok when viewing PDF files on Oracle webpage.
Any suggestions on how to resolve are gratefully received!!
Regards,
Richard.You have run into an interesting problem. The problem is not with Reports. The problem is with Adobe. You can search Adobe's web site and they point to Microsoft (btw, this problem doesn't occur with netscape as the browser) Microsoft's web site point to Adobe.
The Problem is that the .ocx Adobe puts out for use with IE times out if the report take stoo long to start sending back data. We had report that worked and some that didn't. We took a report that worked and put a sleep command in it and when the sleep command got to 10 the report quit working.
My suggestion: move to netscape, make your reports as fast as absolutely possible.

GUI locks up when trying to read output from server
I have a client built in MVC fashion and have two GUI views. One view is for output from the server and input from the keyboard. The other view is for changing connection settings and starting the conection. The problem is when I make the call to connect from the connection GUI it is able to connect and set up the streams but both GUIs lock up once I start trying to output the text received from the server. The strange thing is that when I call these methods just from the Model and not via the GUI and its actionListener the whole thing works. I think it may have something to do with the loop locking up the GUI but don't how to resolve this.
public void monitorServer()
try
char inputChar = (char)fromServer.read();
while (socket.isConnected()==true && inputChar >-1 )
inputChar = (char)fromServer.read();
if ( ( (inputChar >= '0') && (inputChar <= 'z') )
||(inputChar == '\n')||(inputChar == '\r')
||(inputChar == ' ') )
String tempString = (""+inputChar);
mv.addText(tempString);
catch(IOException ioException)
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,
"Error: Failed to read message. Corrupt data sent by server",
"Connection Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
mv.addText("\nMessage not read.\n");
The code above is the bot that screws it all up. mv is the other view that it is outputting the text to.
Please help! I'm gonna fail my degree. :)you need to run your server connection part in another thread.

Run form letter from web server
Has anyone been able to design and run a form letter report in html. When I try to run it, it is always blank. I would like to run it as a .jsp.
Hi,
The form letter report is applicable only for paper layout. It is not applicable for web layout.
However, you can generate to html/htmlcss output from web server using the following command.
http://server:port/reports/rwservlet?server=<server_name>&destype=cache&desformat=html/htmlcss&userid=<connection_string>

Unable to read output from server on a socket
Hello everyone,
I am trying to re-develop and application that traditionally is developed in VB.
Traditional program does following: communicates with host using telnet; login, send some text, read the output from server, validates output and terminated telnet connection.
I am trying to build same kind of application in Java using sockets, but I do not get any response from the server.
Any Suggestions ?
Thanks,
Code below:
String hostName="ip address here";
int portNum=23; //Verified that server's telnet runs on port 23
try
socket=new Socket(hostName,portNum);
out=new PrintWriter(socket.getOutputStream(),true);
in=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(socket.getInputStream()));
}catch(UnknownHostException e){
System.err.println ("Host not found: " + hostName);
System.exit(1);
}catch(IOException e){
System.err.println("Could not get I/O for host: " + hostName + "on port: " + portNum);
System.exit(1);
BufferedReader stdin=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
String userInput;
try{
while ((userInput=stdin.readLine()) != null)
out.println(userInput);
while (in.readLine() != null){
System.out.println("echo: "+in.readLine()); // I Expect server's output here but nothing happens.
}catch(IOException e){
System.err.println("User Input not read.");while (in.readLine() != null){
System.out.println("echo: "+in.readLine()); // I Expect server's output here but nothing happens.I see two problems here:
1) in.readLine() only returns null if the socket is closed. You will be forever in that loop.
2) you are losing every second line of your input. If your telnet server sends only one line at the beginning, the readline() call in the while statement will swollow that.
If you want to do this in a single thread, you will have to use a method which won't block until input is available, such as the read(char[], int, int) method of BufferedReader.
You could also use two threads, of which one is printing the output and the other is taking user input. This has the advantage, that you are able to handle any connection errors immediatley instead of only when the user entered a command.
Does telnet send information about the end of an input sequence (like the end of the welcome message and the end of the answer to any issued command? If not, I'd say that you should use two threads, as you would have to do polling all the time otherwise.
Hope it helps. -

Running curl command from a java program using Runtime.getRuntime.exec
for some reason my curl command does not run when I run it from within my java program and errors out with "https protocol not supported". This same curl command however runs fine from any directory on my red hat linux system.
To debug the problem, I printed my curl command from the java program before calling Runtime.getRuntime.exec command and then used this o/p to run from the command line and it runs fine.
I am not using libcurl or anything else, I am running a simple curl command as a command line utility from inside a Java program.
Any ideas on why this might be happening?thanks a lot for your response. The reason why I am using curl is because I need to use certificates and keys to gain access to the internal server. So I use curl "<url> --cert <path to the certificate>" --key "<path to the key>". If you don't mid could you please tell me which version of curl you are using.
I am using 7.15 in my system.
Below is the code which errors out.
public int execCurlCmd(String command)
String s = null;
try {
// run the Unix "ps -ef" command
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);
BufferedReader stdInput = new BufferedReader(new
InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
BufferedReader stdError = new BufferedReader(new
InputStreamReader(p.getErrorStream()));
// read the output from the command
System.out.println("Here is the standard output of the command:\n");
while ((s = stdInput.readLine()) != null) {
System.out.println(s);
// read any errors from the attempted command
System.out.println("Here is the standard error of the command (if any):\n");
while ((s = stdError.readLine()) != null) {
System.out.println(s);
return(0);
catch (IOException e) {
System.out.println("exception happened - here's what I know: ");
e.printStackTrace();
return(-1);

CURL output on console.
Hi everyone,
I have to ask this, 'cause it is quite annoying when you are debugging something and your console is showing the cURL output all the time, every ~20 sec, a new connection is done, with the corresponding output:
This output is the connection to our HANA Server, and, just guessing, DI API connects through cURL to there, Am I right? if yes, please, tell me how I can stop this output.
We already try the --silence command directly on the server, but without successful result.
Thanks in advanceSorry, computer was booted with 64-bits kernel.

Move file from App server to same server on different path
Hi All,
I have to move a file from Application server to a folder in the same server....
pls tell me how can i do this....
its very urgent....
Thanks...............Hi
First you read the file in output mode using Open dataset and Read dataset statement with the initial application server path.
Then write this data back to another file path by opening the file in Input mode and using Transfer statement.
Example.
open dataset <file1> mode output encding default.
if sy-subrc = 0.
do.
read dataset <file1> into wa_itab.
if sy-subrc = 0.
append wa_itab to itab.
else.
exit.
endif.
enddo.
open dataset <file2> mode input encding default.
if sy-subrc = 0.
loop at itab into wa_itab.
transfer wa_itab to <file2>.
endloop.
endif.
