Currency Field as a Key Field in Z Table

I am creating a  z table in which i have to make a AMount field as a key field . But it is showing a warning while activating the table stating that "Key field AMTFR has num. type DEC: Buffering not possible, Transport restricted"
How can i clear this warning.
Thanks in advance

In this design I suggest you add one more field to the table called SLAB Code., which will be the key. You can have it as CHAR data type of whatever length you want.
That way its easy to handle, because tomorrow if the slabs change, you are changing the values of the key fields, this way you can avoid that.
You can probably have composite key of Slab code and validity dates.

Ravi

  • Currency field in customized table

    Hi Frnds,
I have created a customized Table with a currency type field and generated a table maintenance view. While creating a entry for 'JPY' currency key (which has no decimals) the enterd value in currency field gets multiplied by 100. Eg: if the amount value is 1111, instead of 1,111 its displaying as 111,100.
But this happens only on creating the entries through New Entries Tab. If I changed the enterded value in amount field to 1111 again its displaying correctly as 1,111.
How can I correct the entries in New Entries Tab too??.
       Please help me.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi
I am facing the same kind of problem, but in my case if the PO value is 12345, in table it is stored as 123.45 instaed of 12345
that means system is putting in decimal point before 2 digits.
and this is applicable only in case of JPY Currency.
    kindly sugguest the solution

    Thanks and Regards
    Kumar M

Hi you can use this BAPI for converison to internal format.
    1. BAPI_CURRENCY_CONV_TO_INTERNAL
For this bapi you need to pass the currrency into which you want to convert like USD, JPY and the amount.
    2. To convert data to internal you can use this FM CONVERT_DATE_TO_INTERNAL

So Is there any specific feature in this table.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hello
    In ABAP-programm try this:
    DATA:       NEW LIKE CDPOS-VALUE_NEW,
          OLD LIKE CDPOS-VALUE_OLD,
          NEW1 TYPE MENGE_D,
          OLD1 TYPE MENGE_D.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <f> TYPE ANY.
    * make select from CDHDR and CDPOS
    IF CDPOS-FNAME = 'MENGE'.
      MOVE CDPOS-VALUE_NEW TO NEW.
      MOVE CDPOS-VALUE_OLD TO OLD.
      ASSIGN NEW TO <f>.
      CATCH SYSTEM-EXCEPTIONS CONVT_NO_NUMBER = 2
           OTHERS = 4.
           NEW1 = <f>.
      ENDCATCH.
      ASSIGN OLD TO <f>.
      CATCH SYSTEM-EXCEPTIONS CONVT_NO_NUMBER = 2
           OTHERS = 4.
           OLD1 = <f>.
      ENDCATCH.
    ENDIF.
After this in NEW1 and OLD1 you will see values.

You tried to generate an extract structure with the template structure RPSCO. This operation failed, because the template structure quantityfields or currency fields, for example, field WLP00 refer to a differenttable</b>.
Now I created a view with all the fields same as my table.
But its still giving me the same error and taking all the fields as a primary keys. I have over 12 currency fields in the table. I am confused how to fix this issue and add a currency field to my view?

    All inputs are much appreciated.

    Hi Venkat,
Open the screen painter (SE51) and go to the currency field in the table control on the screen. In the "TEXT" field in the toolbar, delete a character (_) and type in "V" as the last character. The issue should be solved.

  • Currency Key Reference field in WebDynpro Table Column

    Hi Experts,
I am using a WebDynpro table (not ALV) showing multiple currency fields in a single row - each one potentially referencing a different currency key e.g. Japanese Yen and USD in a single row.
My currency context attributes are already defined as currency types, but how can I assign different currency key references to each of my currency context attributes? Or is this somehow done as a property of the table column UI element?
    Thanks for your help,
    Peter

    Hi Kris,
You answer is very helpful, but I do have a question about going the DDIC route. So you are saying that if I take a DDIC structure into my context with multiple currency keys as reference fields for multiple currency fields, then my WebDynpro context will know exactly which currency key is the reference for which currency field without having do do this programatically as you described? If that's true, can I bring a whole DDIC structure over to the context and then delete the 'Dictionary Structure' refrence from my context node, so that I can add my own additional fields to the context node?  E.g. in the case of DDIC structure VBAP can I get all my currency fields and their reference fields from the DDIC from VBAP and then delete 'VBAP' as a 'Dictionary Structure' from my context node and add my own custom fields. The fields I would have brought in from VBAP still retain their type and everything after the deletion of 'VBAP' as a 'Dictionary Structure', so my question is will it also retain the node_info of what currency key goes with what field?
Please let me know if you happend to have done this before.
    Thanks,
    Peter

  • OOPs ALV report Fieldcatalog Editing a currency field

    Hi all,
I have created an OOP's ALV report. I have made one of the currency field editable. when I am changing the value in any cell and go out of the cell(or move to other cell using arrow keys or click some were in the grid) it is taking '.' after 2 digits from the right.
for example if I take 10 it is converting to 0.10, if I take 100 it is becomnig 1.00, if I take 100.00 it is becoming 1.00. If I take 123.45 I am getting a pop up box with message "Too many decimal places"
the fieldcatalog values are as follows
      WA_FIELDCAT-FIELDNAME   = 'ORD_VAL'.
      WA_FIELDCAT-SCRTEXT_M   = 'Ord Value'.
      WA_FIELDCAT-COL_POS     = 11.
    wa_fieldcat-no_zero     = 'X'.
      WA_FIELDCAT-OUTPUTLEN = 14.
       WA_FIELDCAT-CURRENCY  = 'INR'.
      wa_fieldcat-decimals_o = '2'.
      wa_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
      WA_FIELDCAT-EDIT   = 'X'.
      APPEND WA_FIELDCAT TO IT_FIELDCAT.
      CLEAR  WA_FIELDCAT.
Can anybody please help me. As If I edit the field it should take the values what I input.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi ,
The CURR field is the currency unit field in the table ITAB.
I am just confused with your answer. in my case the final internal table is T_CHKQTY1 shall I take that or anything else. I have taken WA_FIELDCAT-CTABNAME = 'CURR'. but the system is thrownig an error as The data object has no component with CTABNAME but there is a component called TABNAME.
    Can you please currect me.

  • Referencing currency fields in a view

When trying to unhide currency fields of a custom extractor in RSA6, we get an error saying 'OLTP source still has errors.'  I believe the errors are associated with the unit/currency referencing of these key figures.  How did you reference the key figure fields the currency/units?

    Hi Khanh-Dong Vo,
Fields CURR1, CURR2 and CURR3 might not have been appended into your extract structure. That should be done if the field has a reference field from a table like T882G.
After doing this these fields obviously would appear into the RSA6 list too, there we need to check these CURR1, CURR2 and CURR3 fields for the property "Field only known in Exit".
This would definitely solve your problem.

  • Having problems when adding new Curency value field + currency field.

I need to add a new Currency field (CURR, length 15, 2 decimal places) plus the Currency field itself to a view.
I'm really struggerling. I have looked at the existing SAP fields in the Component workbench and I have to admit I can not see how a field is linked/related to the currency itself. Is this link established purlely at the disctionary level?.
Has anyone added their own Z field value  and Z currency field before. I can create both fields and display them, but what I can not work out is how I related them within the component workbench, or is this done from the dictionary?.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I should have been able to look at an existing SAP example and work out how it's done, but so far I can not see/determine how this is achieved, even though someone has mentioned that it's controlled via the GET_I_field method. Looking at this method I was expecting to see some mention of both the Currency value field and the Currency field. But as I don't see these confusion reigns.
    Jason

That's correct, but am I right in thinking that you can't actually create the currency key field itself?.
I am aware that currency value fields can be created which reference a currency key field, but can see nothing that allows me to create a currency key field to be referenced.
    I hope that makes sense.
Also, I have amended the structure, changing my value fields from Decimal 15,2 to Currency 15,2  and have created a new currency key field in the structure and referenced this from the Currency value field.
Witin the Component/view/context node I can see this new currency key field, but it appears as STRUCT.fieldlabel whereas my currency value field appears in the context node as EXT.fieldlabel, because it was created in the AET.
My problem is that when attempting to add the currency key field onto the screen I don't have it to select from within the list of structures/attributes. All the others attributes in the context node seem to be there, except the new currency key field/attribute.
The attribute has a SET_fieldlabel, GET_fieldlabel, GET_M_Fieldlabel and a GET_I_Fieldlabel, which I believe is all that should be required.
Does anyone know what my problem could be?.

  • Using SELECT_OPTIONS in Web Dynpro with currency fields

I have an application where I use SELECT_OPTIONS to gather search parameter values for a query which has amount and currency fields.  In my WDDOINIT, I am calling add_selection_field to add the fields that I wish to use to search.  One of the fields is a currency key and another is the amount.  The query returns the found data in an ALV and each record has its amount formatted correctly based on the currency key field in each record.  This all works as it should.
However, the search parameter for the amount field is always formatted based on its data type and not on the other search parameter with the currency key.  The currency key field does not allow multiples so it is either present or not (using the default would be fine if the currency key is not specified).  If it is specified, I would like it to format the amount.low and amount.high input fields correctly.
For example, if I enter 'USD' in the currency key search field and '10' and '20' in the amount from/to fields, respectively, when I press the search button or hit enter, both the amount to/from fields' display changes to '10,00000' and '20,00000', respectively which is the data type definition of CURR19,5.
I found no documentation on how to handle formatting of currency or quantities in the search fields when using SELECT_OPTIONS.  Has anyone solved this problem?  I looked at all the parameters to the add_selection_field method and cold not find a way to associate the currency key to the amount.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Mark,
I don't think, it is possible to get the currency key reference for the amount fields in selection screen by using IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS.
I would suggest you the below work around option
If you do not have the requirement of passing multiple values in either currency key field or amount field, you can go for normal input fields to design your input screen.
    Create a structure with 3 fields , CURR, AMT_LOW, AMT_HIGH
Use currency reference field in structure with self structure name and CURR field, so that amount fields refer to the same structure's currency key
Create a node by using this structure and design the input fields from this context node
Now, the amount fields have the reference of currency key from the structure and it should work fine
    Hope this helps you.

    Hi
I generated a infoset using table COSP, when I click in generate infoset, sap shows this warning message:
Compare field group fields with Data Dictionary
Currency field CCCUR-WAERS will not be filled
Currency field TKA01-WAERS will not be filled
How can I fix the value for fields CCCUR-WAERS and TKA01-WAERS in my query ? when I execute the query this dont show the correct values for some fields because waers field.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ramesh Narayanan

    Dear,
Yeah system shoots this warning because system is unable to get the currency key for the amount in the report, may be because the primary table is unable to provide this information.....better take currency key by joing any other header table....
    Not a big worry

  • In reports, i want to display currency field out put with diff currencies

    Hi all
in reports, i want to display currency field out put with different type of currencies like 1st record in rupees 2nd record in dolors 3rd record in
Euros. for this i should not use any tables and any currency fields and any functional modules. pls give replay urgently.

    Hi swamy,
so sorry, but you have to use some of the objects you do not want to:
Currency values in ABAP are stored in currency fields (type CURR). If they are stored in structures or database, every CURR field must be connected to a CUKY field (currency key).
Displaying data using WRITE statement four output on a list is obsolete technique, you may use the use WRITE with the option CURRENCY c to format according to currency c in table TCURX.
SAP recommends to use ALV technique. If you use ALV to display structure data, then create a dictionary structure with currency value and currency key. The rest goes automatically.
Believe me: It is much easier and more reliable.

  • Currency Field Not Being Saved

    Hi,
I modified the BP_HEAD/AccountDetails view to include the address fields from BP_ADDR and also include a few EEWB generated fields - including a currency field. I am also defaulting the currency key field to 'USD' via BADI_CRM_BP_UIU_DEFAULTS. When a person creates an account, they need to press enter to be able to input data into the address fields. When this happens the currency key field is cleared and on save you get the message "Specify currency." If the user manually selects a currency, then everything saves ok. I have applied note 1347815, but it did not help. Please advise if you have any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Bernard

    Hi,
Before defaulting the value, put a check to whether the Account ID is generated or not. You can default the value after the ID is generated for Accoount.
