Currency Format in report
I am currently working on a german report. I need to display the currency values in german format. For example if we have "2,345,223.55" it needs to be displayed as "2.345.223,55". the source of these values are formula and summary columns. I have tried using the masking option. I didn't find any option that would solve my problem. Can someone tell me how to do this....
Thanks..
Even easier then that, just create you own format mask. All you have to do is click in the format mask and type in the format mask you want. I know it sounds a little strang since it is an LOV. But the nice thing is once you create the format mask, it will be there for the next field. So you will only have to type it once, and then you can select it from the LOV.
I hope that helps,
Tom

Currency unit in Report painter
Hi,
I met a problem when i maintain a report using report panter. Table FAGLFLEXT is used for the library, and I want to using currency translation function. I use Basic key figure "HSL local currency" and CC_HSL translation local currency for the report. But when i run the report, there is a problem, system tell me that can not find the unit of source currency, so can not translated to target currency. The data of local currency can be displayed.
i set the format of the local currency column, find that even i click "print the unit", there is no currency unit of the data, so I think there is some problem.
What is the problem? thank you!Hi Amir,
Thank you for your answer.
I changed the key figue to "Crcy Transltn TransCrcy (Act.)" as told, and run the report again, but still have problem.
No valid exchange rate for currency translation from to USD
Message no. GR640
Diagnosis
The system could not find a valid exchange rate for the currency translation.
System Response
The system could not translate into the target currency.
Procedure
Check the target currency, the exchange rate date and the exchange rate type.
I am sure i have maintain the exchange rate type and related rate.
The setting of "Define Currencies of leading Ledger" is "1 Translation taking transaction currency as a basis".
I think the problem is that the system cannot find the unit of the currency, so the error massage display as "No valid exchange rate for currency translation from to USD". If can find the unit of currency, i thought the message should be like "No valid exchange rate for currency translation from EUR to USD".
If the unit can be found, I think after set the format of the column "print the unit", in the report the unit can be displayed. But in my system, can not display the unit.
What do you think about this? thanks in advance. -
How to change currency sign in report
How can I change the currency sign in report like from dollar to pound sign. Any help and advice will be highly appreciated.
Sherry,
I'm stumbling my way thru the same question. we need to print the currency symbol based on the country defined in the data. here's the not-so-short answer:
we're looking into storing the currency symbol as a unicode value (NVARCHAR2 field) in the database by country and linking it to the data selected in the report. I have a select statement in the report sql that retrieves the correct unicode value per data row. the question then seems to become: do i want to display the field as a number with a format mask, or convert the whole thing to a string/char value?
Keeping everything as a number, in the report format field Format Trigger, i create a mask for each field and call a function to do the following:
v_format := q'{(}' || q'{"}' || p_currency || q'{"}' || v_format || q'{)}';
this gives you a mask with the parenthesis for negative numbers, the currency as literal string, and the v_format (NN,NNN,NNN,NNN,NN0.00) for currency amounts. we vary the # of decimal places and pass that value into the function (just to make things complicated.)
the 'uber complex' version of the function converts the number field to a string/char value. this allows you to change the decimal and separator values for an individual data row. we have not decided to implement this, but it works. you have to enter a 'bogus' character field in the report format and use srw.set_field to change the value at runtime. this keeps the value as a number in the sql for math, but a char to display. complicated. the function does this...
v_format := '999G999G999G990';
v_decimalplaces := MOD((p_decimalplaces * 10),10);
IF v_decimalplaces > 0 THEN
v_format := v_format || 'D';
FOR i in 1..v_decimalplaces LOOP
v_format := v_format || '9';
END LOOP;
END IF;
CASE WHEN SIGN(p_value) >= 0
THEN
v_format := p_currency || TO_CHAR(p_value, v_format, 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = '',.'' ');
ELSE
v_format := '(' || p_currency || TO_CHAR(ABS(p_value), v_format, 'NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = '',.'' ') || ')';
END CASE;
we would pass the values of NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS to the function.
the last 'hitch' is that not every UNICODE currency symbol displays properly. the euro (hex 20AC) is fine, but the korean won (hex 20A9) is not. the database character set is AL32UTF8, and the sql works fine in sql_developer. however, reports does not reliably display the symbol. i have a TAR into oracle at the moment, hoping for clarification. there seem to be many layers in oracle reports to get this to work (database character set, report server character set, font in developer, font on report server, etc.)
let us know how it goes...an often asked, but rarely answered question (IMO). hopefully this gives you some ideas.
thanks,

How to use currency format set
Hi All,
I have to use currency format set to mask the amount values to their respective currencies ,
i reviewed the Oracle XML Publisher Administration and Developer's Guide and followed all the steps mentioned there ,i m also quoting the same over here
To define a Currency Format Set:
1. Navigate to the Currencies page under the Administration tab. Select Create
Currency Format Set.
2. Enter a Name and a Code for the set. The Code is a unique identifier and cannot be
changed later. Select Apply.
3. The Currency Formats page will display for your newly created set.
To add currency formats to the Currency Format Set:
1. Select Add Currency Format to add a format to your set.
2. Select a Currency Name from the list.
Note: This list is generated from the FND currency table and
should include all ISO currencies. Additional currencies can be
added from the System Administrator responsibility.
3. Enter the Format Mask you wish to use for this currency and select Apply.
The Format Mask must be in the Oracle number format. The Oracle number format
uses the components "9", "0", "D", and "G" to compose the format, for example:
9G999D00 where
9 represents a displayed number only if present in data
G represents the group separator
D represents the decimal separator
0 represents an explicitly displayed number regardless of incoming data
See Using the Oracle Format Mask, Oracle XML Publisher Report Designer's Guide for
more information about these format mask components.
After a currency format has been created, you can update or delete it from the Currency
Formats page.
i followed all the above step ,i need to use germany currency ,i have also used the format-currency command in my RTF template,but still its not working ,i used 9G999D00 for masking .
Any hint would be very helpful ,thanks in advance .Please let me know if my question is not clear
Thanks
Prataphi all
Thanks ,this is resolved ,i just missed clearing cache ,after clearing the cache its working .

Currency format problem while exporting as excel
Hi
I have to create a report for which the currency format should be $#,##0.00 and -$#,##0.00 for negative numbers.
In the text form field of rtf template, I have selected number format and removed the portion ;($#,##0.00) from $#,##0.00;($#,##0.00).When I view the report as HTML the numbers are showing in proper format.($#,##0.00 or -$#,##0.00).But when the report is exported as excel ,the negative number format changes to ($#,##0.00) in red color.
Can anyone tell me how avoid this problem?
Thanks in advance
NaveenI think this is an Excel issue - you can right mouse click in Excel the column header and "Format Cells>Text"
You could also append a ' character to your numbers in BI Answers ie: '6035784010491980 which should give you the correct format in Excel.
eg. CONCAT( '''', CAST ( '6035784010491980 AS CHAR) )
There is also an MS Office plug in available for OBIEE this may give you further options. -
BInput Data mismatch with currency format
i am working with fs10 transaction
I want to sum up the balance amount with respect to all
companycode and post SUM to the bseg table using Batch input.
i defined sum variable as below and coded.
data : sum like glt0-hsl01. (currency format)
After all SUM operation.
I have done like this to diplay SUM in report first(to check SUM output)
SUM = SUM * 100.
write : sum decimals 0.
>>>>Now in report output i get value '17,222-'
if u see in fs10 screen we are getting same value.
but when i try to post in Batch input.
i have done like this below.(before posting i have checked
for negative value )
if sum < 0.
sum = sum *100.
compute sum = abs( sum )
now...
perform open_group................
perform bdc_field using 'bseg-wrbtr' (currency format)
sum.
when i execute this BI i get error in Amount(Sum)value
display screen. (saying something differs in length )
how to match the field.
ambichan.Hello,
Go to the Domain of the Field BSEG-WRBTR, which is WERT7. There you see the Output length as 16. So you decalre a local variable in BDC which is of CHAR16 in length to hold the value of WRBTR.
Hope this helps you.

Print PO Price in Currency Format.
Hi Everybody,
I want Print PO Price in currency format in alv report how do i get all countries currency values.
anybody tell me.
thanks,
s.muthuHi Muthu
We can do it using the fields in populating the field catalog. Explore the existing fields of the same.
Another way to handle is declare the amt field as char and write the amt to this field using option CURRENCY. The the problem with this method arrives when you want to do totals and stuff.
Below code can help you understand in writing a field to another with currency option.
data: l_curr(20) type c,
l_amd type kbetr value '3333.23'.
write l_amd to l_curr currency 'USD'.
write:/ l_curr.
write l_amd to l_curr currency 'JPY'.
write:/ l_curr.
To know the currency of a country you can use table T005.
Kind Regards

I am working in Apps R12 on RHEL5.5 64bit OS.

ChanderI'm not sure I understand the question. Are you saying you want the bold part of your path (currently hard-coded) to be in a variable instead? That would look something like this:
$file_server = Read-Host "Enter the file server IP address"
$guid = '{231A178D-DC6C-4186-9575-9C64F07DA5B5}'
(Get-Content "C:\TEMP\GPO\source\5\$guid\gpreport.xml") |
ForEach-Object { $_ -replace "99.999.999.999", "$file_server" } |

Hi All..
i am genrating my reports in Excel using :
response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
and my report is also consisting of amount cloumn...
And now the problem is,i want to get the amounts in the currency format...
Eg :- if it is 10000 then 10,000.00
100 then 100.00
345.20 then 345.20..like this it shoule appear in the excel report..
Please help me very urgent...
And i am also trying with POI..Hi,
yes, I`ve had the same behavior. As a workaround, you have to change the format of the cells.
Go into the properties of the cells:
-> Right mouse click
-> format cells
-> category
-> number
-> change something, e.g. the number of decimal places to show
Then you will have to map the component again to the same cells under "Display Data".
And now, the currency information will be shown correctly.

Currency format and Regional Settings
Is it possible for WebI reports to honor Regional Settings (client system or BO system or BO setup) and correctly handle the currency format without making any changes to the report?
Neeraj BhatiaThere might be a smarter way, but you could use alerters and the GetLocale() function.
Create a new variable called, Currency Type with the formula
=If GetLocale() InList("en_AU";"en_US") THEN "Dollar" ELSE "Euro"
Or whatever. Then use an alerter where the "Filtered object or cell" is the Currency Type variable, and the Operand is "Dollar" then click Format... then at the top click Default next to Number Format and set the appropriate currency format.
Add a sub-alerter to do the same for Euro, and whatever other currencies you must allow for.
Hope that helps. -
In Scripts how to print the values in currence format
Dear abap guru's,
I am working on Purchase Order Script, copy from the standard script, after that wrote a one perform , in that added one new field to script, but value is printed like this formate : 1000.00, but i want to print 1,000.00 like this currence format. let me know the any solution
thanks to all
raj.Hi ,
When you are populating the value in perform instead of assigning the value (using = ) pass it using WRITE TO.
Like : WRITE lw_total TO output-value.
Declare lw_total as currency field.
