Current date in oracle report

The field in the Oracle report footer has the source as current date. It is not showing the current date and time when the report is rerun. What is the solution for this problem. How to refresh the footer? I am new to Oracle reports. Please help. thanks

What is the report version and what format mask are you using for the date/time?

    Thanks in advance.You have to use Reports Trigger named BEFORE PARAMETER FORM and write the following sql
    select sysdate into :Parameter_name from dual;
    give your format mask at Parameter_name.
    Hope this will help you

  • How to display flex fileld data in Oracle Reports

    Hi All,
    I am using Oracle Reports to display Key Flex field information of Oracle Applications in reports by using SRW.user_exit.
    These are steps which I did during my development time
    P_FLEX_DATA
    P_STRUCT_NUM intial value as 101
    defined as Parameters, in P_FLEX_DATA calling all segment values as shown in standard reports.
    I've used P_FLEX_DATA in sql query of the report and defined two formula cols C_FLEXFIELD and C_DESC_ALL and added below mentioned codes:
    C_FLEXFIELD formula column query:
    SRW.REFERENCE(:P_STRUCT_NUM);
    SRW.REFERENCE(:C_FLEXDATA);
    SRW.USER_EXIT('FND FLEXIDVAL
    CODE="GL#"
    NUM=":P_STRUCT_NUM"
    APPL_SHORT_NAME="SQLGL"
    DATA=":C_FLEXDATA"
    VALUE=":C_FLEXFIELD"
    DISPLAY="ALL"');
    RETURN(:C_FLEXFIELD);
    C_DESC_ALL formula column query:
    SRW.REFERENCE(:P_STRUCT_NUM);
    SRW.REFERENCE(:C_FLEXDATA);
    SRW.USER_EXIT('FND FLEXIDVAL
    CODE="GL#"
    NUM=":P_STRUCT_NUM"
    APPL_SHORT_NAME="SQLGL"
    DATA=":C_FLEXDATA"
    DESCRIPTION=":C_DESC_ALL"
    DISPLAY="ALL"');
    RETURN(:C_DESC_ALL);
    But I did not find any output for these two columns. I want to display flex fileld description as per code combination id wise in reports. I am using reports 10g for developing the reports. Please help in this regard.

  • Query for selecting current date when running report

    Hi all
    I need a query that will copy today's date on posted sales order via DTW then that query will be linked to an alert and be sent to the sales manager every morning after the import went through successfully.
    The report at the moment is running fine as i pulling through the other info required the only problem is it's pulling all the sales orrders on the system , we want it to pull only the days orders imported.

    You could use either of these queries
    SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDueDate, T0.CardCode, T0.CardName, T0.DocTotal, T0.U_ROUTEMARKTN, T0.U_ROUNDS, T0.U_DAYOFWEEK
    FROM [dbo\].[ORDR\] T0
    WHERE T0.DocDate = GETDATE()
    ORDER BY T0.U_ROUTEMARKTN, T0.U_ROUNDS, T0.U_DAYOFWEEK, T0.DocDueDate
    OR
    SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDueDate, T0.CardCode, T0.CardName, T0.DocTotal, T0.U_ROUTEMARKTN, T0.U_ROUNDS, T0.U_DAYOFWEEK
    FROM [dbo\].[ORDR\] T0
    WHERE DATEDIFF(Day, T0.DocDate, GETDATE()) = 0
    ORDER BY T0.U_ROUTEMARKTN, T0.U_ROUNDS, T0.U_DAYOFWEEK, T0.DocDueDate

  • Oracle Reports with Oracle Financials (FMIS)

    Hi folks,
    I'm in a bit of a bind at the moment. I really really need a little help getting an understanding of Oracle Report Writer. The situation is as follows:
    I'm currently working on a system that moves data from an SQL Server 7.0 Database into some Oracle Financials (FMIS) Interface Tables. The Interface tables are apparently used to post Customer and Invoicing information into the real Oracle Financials tables, for Invoicing and General Ledger purposes.
    Its come to my understanding that Oracle ReportWriter is no longer available on the market today? Is this true? The reason why I ask is, my client is tossing with the idea of using Oracle ReportWriter over Crystal Reports.
    The only thing that I have heard is that Oracle Report Writer is a much more powerful tool than Crystal Reports. So I guess the main question would be, is Report Writer a more powerful and easy to use application over other report writing tools?
    Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

    Vick,
    I believe it is all in the name. Oracle ReportWriter is long gone; however it has evolved to Oracle Reports which is going strong. The current version is Oracle Reports 6i and has been out for more than a year. It was preceeded by Oracle Reports 6.0, 3.0, 2.5, 2.0 and finally ReportWriter1.1,.... The Early versions were packaged in various bundles with our other tools.
    Oracle Reports is a very powerful reporting tools and stacks up very well against Crystal. One big advantage is that we work extremely well against an Oracle Database (no external drivers to go through). We also run on a greater variety of machines including Unix. We provide XML output and integration with our other BI tools, Discoverer and Express as well as Oracle Portal. Reports can be deployed over the web using standard CGI/Servlet technology. I don't have room to mention all the advantages, but click on this link to our OTN website for a high level overview Reports 6i. http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/pdf/iasreports.pdf
    Other documentation is also available to show you the power of Oracle Reports 6i.

  • Historic and Current data for Master data bearing objects

    Hi All,
    We are trying to implement type 2 dimensions for all the master data bearing characteristics, where we require historic and current data available for reporting. the master data can have a number of attributes and all of them can be time dependent. We are not getting any 'datefrom' or 'dateto' from the source system.
    For example:
    For Example: The table below shows data entering BI at different dates.
    Source Data day of entering BI
    MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2
    123506 Y REWAR day1
    123506 N REWAR day4
    123506 Y ADJUST day4
    123506 N ADJUST dayn
    The field 'day of entry into BI' is only for your understanding; we do not get any date fields from the source. SID is the field we are generating for uniqueness. It is a counter. EFF_DATE would be the current date for all the data. EXP_DATE would be 31.12.9999 until the attributes change. SID and MasterID together would be the key.
    On day 1 the following data enters BI,
    day 1
    SID MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE
    1 123506 Y REWAR 2/10/2009 12/31/9999
    On day 4, 2 data records enter with same PID,
    SID MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE
    2 123506 N REWAR 2/13/2009 12/31/9999
    3 123506 Y ADJUST 2/13/2009 12/31/9999
    the EXP_DATE of the record of day 1 needs to be changed to current date.
    Also there are two records entering, so latest record would have EXP_DATE as 31.12.9999. And the EXP_DATE of the first record on day 4 should change to the current date.
    so the following changes should happen,
    CHANGE
    SID MasterIDATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE
    1 123506 Y REWAR 2/10/2009 2/13/2009
    CHANGE
    SID MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE
    3 123506 Y ADJUST 2/13/2009 2/22/2009
    On day n, one data record enters with same PID,
    SID MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE
    4 123506 N ADJUST 2/22/2009 12/31/9999
    The change is ,
    CHANGE
    SID MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE
    3 123506 Y ADJUST 2/13/2009 2/22/2009
    The data expected in P-table is as below, on Day n or after Day n, untill any other record enters for this MasterID,
    1 123506 Y REWAR 2/10/2009 2/13/2009
    2 123506 N REWAR 2/13/2009 2/13/2009
    3 123506 Y ADJUST 2/13/2009 2/22/2009
    4 123506 N ADJUST 2/22/2009 12/31/9999
    Has anyone worked on type 2 dimensions earlier? Or any ideas to implement this logic would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sudeepti

    Compound the Master ID with eff date and other attribute as superior objects
    so you will get P-table as
    ATTR1   ATTR2   MAT ID
    1 2/10/2009 2/13/2009 123506 Y REWAR
    2 2/13/2009 2/13/2009 123506 N REWAR
    3 2/13/2009 2/22/2009 123506 Y ADJUST
    4 2/22/2009 12/31/9999  123506 N ADJUST

  • Using CLOBs in oracle Report Builder

    I want to select all the data in a CLOB column using SQL Navigator by just doing
    select entry_note
    from chartentries;
    just as you say in your example by it just gives me back a result of (ORACLOB).
    If I do
    select to_char(entry_note)
    from chartentries;
    I get this error.
    If I do
    select dbms_lob.substr(entry_note,4000,1)
    from chartentries
    I get this (there’s more up to 32000 characters in a clob) and these weird squares which I think are CR (carriage returns) or LF (line feeds). I don’t want to see those characters and I would like to retrieve the entire CLOB in one swoop without doing data manipulations of substringing.
    Using the same data in Oracle Report Builder, I want to select all the data in a CLOB column into a field in a Paper report layout but I keep getting errors, ora-6502, and I've found out that I am restricted to 4000 characters and in Report 9i it looks like the largest field you can have is 4000 characters. My CLOB information can be up to 32000 characters long or longer and I do not want to substring out 4000 characters at a time into separate fields. In Crystal reports there is no problem just selecting the clob in a simple query and it is there in one shot. I would have thought by now that Oracle would have changed its development tools to be able to handle Clobs simply without any manipulation. Does anyone know how to do this in Report builder? I just have a simple query:
    select entry_datetime,
    to_char(replace((entry_note),chr(13))) as entry_note
    from chartentries
    where patient_id = 49741
    Another thing I want to do, is call this Oracle report from a PL/SQL block passing several parameters to the report and also call a Crystal report from a PL/SQL block passing several parameters to the report. Does anyone know what the commands are?

    What I had to do is create a query using query builder. This works fine; it's when trying to add the column to an existing query is where the data inconstancy error occurs. One thing you have to keep in mind is it will only work using the query builder in conjunction with the report wizard; I am not sure why. To incorporate the comments into an existing frame you will have to cut the frame created by the wizards and copy it into the existing frame. Otherwise the column name will not show in the source list of the property Inspector.
    Good Luck
