  • Reports Generated in Excel Format

When I schedule reports in the Excel format, it adds a blank row every other row, then shrinks it so that it is almost hidden.  Is it possible to keep it from doing this?

Again, not sure if this will fix your precise problem, but generally speaking when you export to Excel, you'll get a shrunk and empty A column. To avoid this, move the report within WebI to the top left of the screen (takes some messing around) and the export will then be tidier.Andy

  • Crystal reports 13.5 : Export to excel formatting

Hi. We are developing web application using VS 2010. We are using crystal reports 13. Initially we had VB6 application which used crystal reports 8.5. The format for excel report generated by crystal report 8.5 and crystal report 13.5 is different. We are using the export option in crystal report viewer for both reports. Is there any way in which we could make changes to crystal reports 13.5 to achieve similar excel formatting as crystal reports 8.5.

    Hi Pooja,
Back in CR 8.5, it was the RDC COm SDK (CRAXDRT.dll) and with CR for VS 2010 it is .NET SDK which are two complete different SDKs and could not be compared.
However, the .NET SDK should export the report same as it is exported through CR designer.
Could you export the report in a newer designer possibly CR 2008 or CR 2011/2013 and compare the exported output with your .NET SDK export?
You could get the trial free download for CR desiner here.

  • Reports 3.0.5 and Excel Format Report Generation

    Hi Folks,
I need to create excel format report on my Windows based OS using Report Desiginer 3.0.5.
Can someone help in this matter as urgent as possible? Your help will highly be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Zahir

The problem is that you're going to have to jump through hoops to do something that's very, very easy in the release you're going to, so you need to seriously consider where to put your efforts. If you want to do this in 3.0, then you'll need to follow the data file report example in the 2.5 Building Reports manual (see http://otn.oracle.com/doc/reports25/bror2/ch6a.htm#toc096)

  • Oracle Reports - Unable to generate report with colored image in bitmap mod

    Hi,
I am using Oracle reports 6i.
I am generating a post script[.ps] file using bitmap mode.
The layout contains an image. The image is stored in oracle database which is colored image.
But when the report is generated same is being generated with gray color.
Could any one advise on resolving this issue? The objective is to generate the report with colored image and not gray or black&white

What kind of images do you have? Reports only supports a few formats, e.g. JFIF. So, if you have JPG images with EXIF meta information in the header, you have to remove those first.
when the report is generated same is being generated with gray color. What happens if you sent the output directly to the printer?
And what happens if you create a PDF file instead of Postscript?

  • Oracle Report vs JSP efficiency and Excel XML in Web Source Questions

I have used Oracle Reports in the past 6i, but haven't used them in about 4 years. We are now using 9.0.4 reports and I am trying to generate Excel XML from an Oracle report by manipulating the web source of the report. Basically copying and pasting the Excel XML into the web source of the Oracle Report instead of html as suggested by this Metalink Doc ID 240819.1. I do have a JSP working example that generates Excel XML created in JDeveloper and successfully spawns off a very nice looking Excel spreadsheet.
However, a statement was made here by our app sever guy that an Oracle Report is more efficient at getting data from the database than a JSP. The app sever section does not want anyone using JSPs to generate a report of any kind. I guess small web pages are OK since our java guys use them all the time. This rule for a Reports only environment seems a little restrictive to me. Is there any truth to the statement that Oracle Reports bulk collects data in one chunk as opposed to a JSP making multiple trips to the database from the middle tier?
Secondly, if an Oracle Report is more efficient in the way that it collects large record sets from the db, and if I save an Oracle Report as a JSP not an rdf, and use the reports_tld.jar with the rw tags instead of the typical jsp jstl tags, will I still get the same improvement from using an Oracle report? I guess the improvement is in the library used correct?
Thirdly, although not part of this forum, I also am assuming that if we have single sign on that when I call a JSP from an Oracle Form I will not have to log in again correct?
    Thanks...

It could be the configuration issue. Reconfigure the engine.

  • Issues while saving the Webi Report locally in pdf and Excel Format

    Hi,
I am getting issues with the images on a Webi Report when I try to save the reports locally on my machine in either a pdf format or in an Excel Format.
I think the issue is that when I am trying to save the report it saves the address of the image binded in the report but it doesn't save the image/download the image and when the report is opened locally it couldn't refer to the image location.
    I am using BOXIR2 with SP2.8.
I am not sure what should be the right solution for this. Any insight or resolution will definitely be helpful.

    Hi;
I would investigate on the load balancer and/or Apache front end servers, are you sure you don't have a keep alive setting enabled somewhere on one of these servers? in the Tomcat connector maybe?

  • Composing the URL to call a report to render in the Excel format - SSRS 2012

    Hi,
I've a report that I need to call by an URL. I've composed this link, using the rs:Format=EXCEL command, but I've an error because the max number of rows is 65.536 for the current version of Excel and the extracted data are more of 150.000 rows. On the report
server is installed Excel 2013 and so this error it seems strange: the limit of 65.536 rows refers to an older Excel version than Excel 2010.
My idea is to pass in the URL string a client command, but rc:Format=EXCEL doesn't function.
    Any suggests to me, please?
    Thanks

    Hi pscorca,
Per my understanding that when you export the large data report to excel by adding the commend "rs:Format=EXCEL"  in the URL, you got some error, right?
As you mentioned that you are using the new version of excel, so the issue can be caused by the reporting service have some limitation rendering the large data report.
Please design the report to add page break and parameters which will also avoid some limitation of the excel:
When you add page breaks in the report. Each page break will defines a new sheet in Excel. Each sheet can handle a maximum of at least 65000 rows. Consider these limits when you set the page breaks in a report.
For exporting to Excel, do not merge cells in a Tablix data region. In free form reports, align report items vertically. Merged cells and unaligned report items interfere with Excel functionality in the exported report.
You have mentioned that pass "rs:Format=EXCEL" in the URL string a client command, but doesn't work, please check to make sure you add the commend after the Report URL of the report Server but not report manager.
Pass a Report Parameter Within a URL

  • Oracle Reports 6i Delimied Format and Carriage Returns

    Hi
I'm using Oracle Reports 6i to generate a report to a text file using delimited format so I can read it in Excel. I've done some testing putting some information in the layout but it seems that all my data is generated in one line. It does not generate the carriage return for the multiple rows I need. Is this standard functionality?. If so, that means I have to generate the file using PL/SQL to get the control I want?

Whew...lot's of questions...let's see if I can help (at least a little)...
    1. Quite possibly, the user is/was pulling the image from the database? I do this in my environment, so it might be worth a look.
    2. You should be able to print in any format from the web. You may need to adjust your destype/desname/desname parameters.
    3. Only thing I can think of here is that maybe the original report was not written using a standard web-friendly font?
    4. There's a couple of ways you can get data into an excel file:
    A. Use DDE and poke the data right into it (messy when you need to print the regular Oracle report too).
    B. Add an option to print to file and set the desformat to DELIMITEDDATA. Be sure to go through the data model and set Exclude from XML Output to 'Yes' for fields you don't need. Also, be aware that this may not come out in the same order as they do on the printed report. You can read about this on Metalink.
Hopefully that helps you a little bit. :)

  • Error in BI Publisher when generating excel format

    Hi,
I was facing an issue in BI Publisher where I was getting this error message when trying to generate the excel format for a report.
    oracle.apps.xdo.template.fo.area.BlockArea.
BIP Version : Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1
    Template used : XSL-FO
    Data source : XML file
However, if I turn off the "Enable Document Caching" option in the Report node , the excel report is getting generated. The issue is resolved now, but am trying to understand what the issue was and how turning off the cache resolved it.
If anyone has faced this issue before, and knows the reason - please let me know
    Thanks in advance
    Sujith

    Sujith
So the doc cache, does just that it caches the document. I assume there might be some issue with caching Excel files. Have to admit I can not reproduce it. Turning cache on and constantly calling for the Excel (either type) is not failing.
Ahh just noticed that you have an XSL-FO template, can you share it and some data so I test and maybe log a bug?
    Thanks

  • Report in excel format with proper alignment

    Hi all,
We are using Reports 10g R2.
Users want to see the report (invoked from forms) in excel format. Of course, I gave "spreadsheet" as the des type and alignment is the major task. Already more than 500 & above reports are there. So it will not be easy to align the existing report.
Please give me an idea to find a solution for this.
