Current date minus 365 daqys

In MS BI Query Designer I want to query the last 365 days from a DB2 table. I can pull this data from Access, but can not figure out how to select the dataset for current date minus 365 days. Here is what I have that works in Access
select txn_date (format is MM/DD/YYYY)
from Inventory
where txn_date >Date()-365
I've tried Date(), NOW(), Getdate() and date_add(), but not having any luck . Your assistance would be much appreicate.

According to your description, I suggest you referring to the command below:
select txn_date from Inventory
where datediff(D, txn_date ,(GETDATE()-365))<0

programitically am populating the date as current date minus 1 in the field of my_date in the selection screen.
now, they wanna to run the report in back ground, daily.
now, I followed ur tip/link and saved with_date_variant, fine.
so, pls. let me know that,
1) if the report runs in back ground tomorrow with with_date_variant(which is i created by seeing ur link), Is the selection screen my_date(prog. populates as June 5th) will be override with current date(i.e. June 6th)?
In broad, Is the selection criteria wuld be over writes with the Dynamic varints?

How to fill a prompt in webi with current date?

A webi report is being generated on BEx Query.
IN BEx query variables are defined for some date fields to prefill them with current date.
Foe ex. there is license start date. For this field variable is defined so that in variable screen License start date is automatically filled with greater than or equal to current date(which is system date). WHich is a mandatory variable.
On BO side, a webi report is being developed on a Universe (based on this BEx query).
When the webi report is run, the license start date(mandatory variable in BEx) is automatically prompted, but date is not getting prefiiled with current date.
How to prefill this prompt with current date?
the prompt should be like
LIcense start date >= <current date>

Yes, it isn't possible to reference anything like 'Current Date' in the universe (like you would with a SQL data source).
The solution I have seen recently goes like this, I don't know the exact details (so I might have some terminology wrong), but someone with ABAP skills should get what I mean.
Assuming you want to filter on 0CALDAY.
In ABAP, create a customer EXIT that calculates the current date as a number (so today might be 40651). Do the same for 0CALDAY.
In the BEx create a formula variable that references each of those, then a Formula Key Figure (I forget the exact name of them) that's just the current day number minus the 0CALDAY number. This gives you the 'age' of that row of data.
Your Webi report can then have a built in filter (or prompt with a default value) of, say Age <= 30. The report can be scheduled and will always run with the last 30 day's data.
We actually did the customer exists to show the 'age' in months.
Sorry I can't explain it any better, but it's working great for us.

Help creating a formula which returns current date last year

I need help creating a formula which returns the current date last year. I also need it to work during leap years.
Any ideas?

I'm lucky to be a universe designer, I have to do this only once
The easiest way would probably be to use
=RelativeDate(CurrentDate();-365)
So subtractiing 365 to get the same date last year,
but you would need some extra logic for the years with a feb 29 in those 365 days.
=If FormatDate(RelativeDate(CurrentDate();-365);"dd") = FormatDate(CurrentDate();"dd")
Then RelativeDate(CurrentDate();-365)
Else RelativeDate(CurrentDate();-366)
Another question to ask is if you really want the same date last year, or if you also want a really 'same day' so monday compared to monday etc. in this case you would just subtract 364 days and get the day 52 weeks back...

Current date / day of year in formula

Dear all,
For a calculation, I need the day of the year in order to calculate a year-to-date budget (derived from the full year budget).
[ YTD budget = Full year budget * day of year / 365 ]
The full year budget is in my infocube, as is 0FISCYEAR and 0FISCPER and 0CALMONTH2.
The infocube provides actual and budget data per month (0FISCPER) as most detailed level (so 0calday is not part of my cube).
In order to make the calculation I presume I need the variable 0DAT (SAP Exit) but I am not sure if that is correct.
Problem is: I am not able to and/or don't no how to use this variable. The documentation says that 0DAT is part of 0calday, and I am not using that characteristic...
And when I try to create a new variable, and specify that I want to use a SAP exit and enter the name '0DAT' I get a message in return that the name is already in use....
It seems to be a waste of space to add 0calday to my cube, just to be able to get the current date for my calculation...
So, suggestions would really help me:

Hi Ansem,
The defalut 0DAT variable is charecterstic variable which you can't use it in formula(only formula variables can be used in formulas).
So, you need to create a new formula variable with customer exit procssing type. In the customer exit code you assign day of the year to the variable .
Then use this formula varibale in your formula in place of day of year.
If this helps to solve your problem, do not forget to assign points.

Historic and Current data for Master data bearing objects

Hi All,
We are trying to implement type 2 dimensions for all the master data bearing characteristics, where we require historic and current data available for reporting. the master data can have a number of attributes and all of them can be time dependent. We are not getting any 'datefrom' or 'dateto' from the source system.
For example:
For Example: The table below shows data entering BI at different dates.
Source Data day of entering BI
MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2
123506 Y REWAR day1
123506 N REWAR day4
123506 Y ADJUST day4
123506 N ADJUST dayn
The field 'day of entry into BI' is only for your understanding; we do not get any date fields from the source. SID is the field we are generating for uniqueness. It is a counter. EFF_DATE would be the current date for all the data. EXP_DATE would be 31.12.9999 until the attributes change. SID and MasterID together would be the key.
On day 1 the following data enters BI,

On day 4, 2 data records enter with same PID,

so you will get P-table as

How to show current date in a column of dimension table in ssas

I have 2 dimension tables (ALLWORK and YOURWORK) and 1 measure table (STATS). In ALLWORK dim table, I have 4 columns, one of them is END_DATE. Based on END_DATE and current date I want to create a named calculation field. To achieve this, I
want to show the current date in 5th column (of ALLWORK dim table) as calculated member (as named calculation wont show me correct date).
Problem is, I am not able to create the column in the dimension table. While creating the calculated member, I am not able to select the ALLWORK dimension table, it always selects MEASURE by default. Please help.

How to Get Current Date from MS Access in a Select Statement

From a java method, I want to use JDBC to get the current date from MS Access. In Oracle I would do "select sysdate from dual", but I can't figure out how to do it in MS Access. Here are some of my attempts. I have a table in my Access db called PARM.

Why are you getting it as a String? You should be getting it as a timestamp.
Although getString works for me too. There is something else wrong that you haven't shown.
Here is some shoddy, but simple, test code that demonstrates it working.

Odd Date for Current Date and Time

I am modifying a column in a list to get current date and time using =TODAY()+NOW() in the calculated field and get a time that is behind by 1 hour but the date is 4 months 114 years ahead (2128). How can I fix this field?
