Cursor drag issue

 Dear all,
I have some problems playing around with dragging of cursors.
In my application i have a graph with 2 cursors. There is 1 Primary Cursor(Black Color) which can be moved anwhere on the graph. And another one(in Green) cannot go to the left of Black.
On "Cursor move" event(for green), whenever the X value of the cursor is less than the Black, i make the value of Allow Drag to False. But its not working,
Could you pls have a look at my Vi and suggest me some alternative.
Thanks,
Ritesh

Hi Altenbach,
Thanks alot for your reply. That did Help.
I am almost done with that mini VI  that i was asked to do.
It would be really great if anyone of you could have a look at it and comment on my Programming.
See if there's any place where i could make it more professional/robust/efficient. I have tried alot not to use Local variables much. But as i dived into the world of LabVIEW not more than 4 months ago, i couldn't resist myself of using it.
Any sort of Help on improving the VI will he Helpful.
I am attaching the .rar file. FWave.vi is the main VI.
Thanks,
Ritesh

  • Window dragging issues on second display

    Hello everyone,
    I have secondary display with 1920x1200 resolution and rotated 90° (portrait mode) connected to MB Pro early 2011. After updating to Mountain Lion from AppStore I faced with quite annoying effect on this display: when I drag any window over the desktop it's moving quite jerky. Also all system menus (dis)appearing with pulsing effect. When I drag any window to desktop on MacBook display - everything is smooth and OK.
      Also I noticed that during desktop video capturing (using quicktime) overall perfomance degrades significantly: mouse cursor moves lazily, windows movements are really slow.
      I'm feeling that this is serious software problem.
      Is this known issue? Could someone reproduce it? Any workaround?
    HW: MB Pro early 2011,
    OS: Mac OS X Mountain Lion,
    Secondary display: Dell U2412M, 1920x1200, connected through DisplayPort input.

    Try repairing your permissions.  Go to applications then to the "other" folder then go to disk utility, on the left hand side you will see a white box.  Select the second option, usually called "mac HD" with that selected click on "repair permissions" in the center towards the bottom of the screen.  Wait for it to complete, then see if this fixes the issue.

    iv. Immediately – and before the grey screen appears – hold down ‘command-option-P-R’ all together.
    v. Keep them held down until you’ve heard the start-up chime twice. After you release them you should hear it again, and hopefully your Mac will boot up normally.

  • Using Reference Cursor Performance Issue in Report

    Hi,
    Are reference cursor supposed to be faster than a normal query? The reason why I am asking is because I am using a reference cusor query in the data model and it has a performance issue on the report, it's taking quite a while to run than If I just run the same reference cursor query in sql*plus. The difference is significantly big. Any input is very much appreciated!
    Thanks,

    From the metalink bug 4372868 on 9.0.4.x. It was fixed on 10.1.2.0.2 and does not have a backport for any 9.0.4 version.
    Also the 9.0.4 version is already desupported. Please see the note:
    Note 307042.1
    Topic: Desupport Notices - Oracle Products
    Title: Oracle Reports 10g 9.0.4 & 9.0.4.x
    Action plan:
    If you are still on 9.0.4 and later version of oracle reports and have no plan yet to migrate to 10.1.2.0.2 version use the same query you are using in your reference cursor and use it as a plain SQL query in your reports data model.

  • Calendar error message and click and drag issues

    Hi, I'm new, very new. Never had a mac product in my life. Just got a macbook air (OS X 10.9.5) and was about to update to Yosemite when I read all the virulent anti update stuff (599 giving it one star versus 579 giving it more than one) on the app store Yosemite page. Should I take this seriously? But most importantly, will it resolve the issue of the error message in relation to the google calendar (The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/xxxx/user/ encountered HTTP error 404), and the sudden loss of the ability to be able to pick up and drag documents which are features of my current experience, both of which issues I have read about on other forums with no definitive solutions.

    Hi Kelly,
    I searched our server logs and didn't find any errors associated with your form in the past 30 days. Maybe I didn't use the right keywords since I don't have the error message yet. I am going to do a few test submissions to see if I will encounter any error. The test data will have the name "test test" so you can easily identify them and delete them later. Is that okay to you? I will start my testing once I have your permission.

  • Windows 7 in boot camp - two finger click and drag issues

    Hey everyone. I have Windows 7 on Boot Camp (MacBook Pro mid-2010, Mac OS X Lion) and I cannot seem to click on a window with one finger, then use a second finger to drag it. Every time I try it brings up the right click menu. Is there any way of fixing this? I want to be able to drag, darn it! Thanks.
    Grant

    Having had the same issue on my MacBook Pro with Boot Camp 5.0.5033 on Windows 8, workaround being external mouse, I have found the following:
    If Trackpad->Two Fingers->Secondary Click is enabled in Control Panel/Boot Camp, in order to Click and Drag one cannot click any place on the trackpad. One must click bottom area of the trackpad with one finger, and then use another finger to drag.
    If Trackpad->Two Fingers->Secondary Click is disabled, Click and Drag works the same way as in Mac OS X: one can click any place on MacBook Pro built-in trackpad with one finger, and then use another finger to drag the window or select a fragment of text. The two fingers Secondary Click, consequently, becomes disabled.
    For me Mac OS X-style Click&Drag is more important, so I disabled two fingers Secondary Click, and assigned Bottom-Right-Corner of the trackpad to be Right-Click instead.
    Don’t know if the question is still open… Hope, however, the info might be helpful to those having the same inconvenience with Click and Drag under Boot Camp.

  • Icon dragging issue

    I've recently been trying to neaten up all of my files in finder, as I tend to just let everything pile up and be completely unorganized. I typically have two windows upon so I can drag and drop into the appropriate folder. I've recently been having an issue with the drag and drop where my files will drag and drop into the folder I want them to go to, but the thumbnail icons will remain on my screen. I can't click on the icons and I can use programs normally, but I can't seem to get rid of the icons unless I relaunch finder. It's super annoying to have to relaunch finder every single time this happens, and it seems to be a fairly recent development. I have OS X 10.9.3 and this started within the last month or so. Any way to fix this so I don't have to constantly relaunch finder?

    The hanging problem may indeed not be related to the earlier problem - but it prevents us looking at the earlier one.
    I reproduced the problem with nothing but Mail, Console and Activity Monitor running. I dropped a jpeg onto Mail in the Dock. There was about 3/4 of my 2GB RAM free, shown by Activity Monitor which I brought back to the front - the new Mail window obscured it. After a couple of seconds AM reported Mail not responding (but the beachball-of-death was already running) and SpinMonitor started up. Normally at this stage I would have killed it, but I let it run - and watched it eating RAM! Both RSize and Virtual Memory usage by Mail grew, and the green slice of the pie shrank as the yellow (active) slice grew, until after a couple of minutes there was no more green and the crash reporter took over.
    I don't know that the crash report will be particularly relevant; the problem had started long before the crash. Anyway, I let it off to Apple. I have GPGMail installed, so I will see if the problem occurs after I pull out its mail bundle.

  • Cursor drag pop up info-nothing comes up without clicking

    Okay, so my problem is not major, but annoying and I don't know how to take care of it. Hopefully someone can help.
    When I drag the cursor over something, for example the hidden dock, it doesn't do anything unless you click, the dock doesn't pop up, or if you move the cursor over something where text would normally appear, it doesn't unless you left click. Or when you drag the cursor over the options in a drop down menu, such as "file" the different selections in the menu don't highlight as you drag the cursor over them.
    This happens not only on the desktop but on the internet too. Nothing ever pops up like it should when you hold the cursor over it.
    This problem has me baffled, I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I have no idea how to fix it and I haven't found anything posted for the same problem.

  • Mouse Drag Issues.

    I've been having problems with using my mouse to "click and drag". I'm pretty sure that is is not a hardware issue. It happens in multiple apps and general OS navigation. For example I will attempt to click and drag a folder into another. I wont be able to because the mouse wont stop the drag after I let go of the button. The folder icon gets stuck to the mouse pointer, I have to force quit and relaunch Finder using the keyboard's enter key because I cant use the mouse click to force quit.
    The same thing happens in other applications. ie. Im browsing the web. Occasionally when I click a link, an outline drag will get stuck to the mouse. Then I can't click anywhere else to make use of the browser until I force quit it and start over. This happened in an unsaved photoshop document too. In that case I got a large outline drag box stuck to the mouse, and the entire app froze up. Couldn't save with keyboard or mouse, had to force quit and loose my work. That's when I started looking to fix this problem and came here.
    Im using the wireless logitech s530 keyboard/mouse combo. I've been using it without a hitch for the last 6 months that I've had my Mac.
    Also a side note, I had a fatal error screen (which I've never seen before) for the operating system a couple days ago, for which it instructed me to hold the power button to restart. I don't know if its related but it happened around the same time this mouse/crashing problem started.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    -Bob Funk

    This sounds like a driver issue. Have you tried reinstalling your mouse's driver or checking for an update on the Logitech website? I'd recommend visiting their downloads site and install the latest driver for your mouse. Hopefully that will work. One way to test this would be to boot into safe mode by holding "shift" at bootup. When the system boots see if the mouse behaves the same way, and then restart the computer normally to restore normal non-safemode function.

  • Crop & Transform click-drag issue

    When Cropping an image in Elements 10, I left click my mouse to start the crop and before I can drag the line, the bounding box shifts/jumps into another postion, I hit escape and try again and it keeps doing this erratic behavior. In order to save an image once I get it to the correct location, I have to hit enter instead of left clicking inside the box to set, otherwise it will jump to another location. Also this strange behavior will happen when transforming perspective & scew. I left click on corner node and if I do not hit the node exactly, the image with jump outside viewing area or rotate or change to another tool. I have windows XP and this issue happens with all my mouses including wired, unwired and laptop mouse pad. Thank you

    I'd reset the photoshop elements 9 preferences by holding down the Shift+Alt+Ctrl keys just after starting the launch of the pse 9 editor.
    Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the photoshop elements settings file.
    Press Yes because you do.
    Also, if you use the Welcome screen, you might consider making direct shortcuts for the pse 9 editor and orginizer on your desktop instead of using the Welcome screen.

  • Photoshop 13.0.5 window dragging issue (OS X)

    Hello everyone! I'm having one small issue abou this: when I drag an open document window partially off the screen, somehow like this:
    then release it, and then drag back, the sides that have been hidden (outside the screen) won't redraw until I release mouse button:
    Haven't noticed such behavior until 13.0.5 (upgraded directly from 13.0.1).
    Thanks.

    What's your exact version of the OS, and what are the model and specs of your video card?
    The reason I ask is that I see the very same behavior in Photoshop 13.0.5 under OS X Lion 10.7.5, but then I know I have an underpowered video card with only 256 MB of VRAM, and Photoshop never fails to inform me so every time it launches.
    A video card upgrade with 1 GB of VRAM should be here by Tuesday or Wednesday.  I'll report back once I install it.

  • Trackpad drag issues

    Bought a new MBP about four months ago and am suddenly having problems with the trackpad. It works smoothly in all but one situation: when I hold-click to drag the performance becomes erratic (drags for a brief second and then drops) unless I make a concerted effort to press hard. Even more oddly, the issue isn't consistent. Sometimes the trackpad will seem fine and sometimes it can't drag anything for more than a split second. I would think the problem was user misuse but I'm making sure not to touch the trackpad with any other part of my hand and the pressure I have to put on the trackpad to ensure dragging seems inordinately high (and doesn't always ensure that the drag sticks anyway). I've seen some mention that oily or moist hands might affect the performance so I've been trying to wipe down the pad and my hands before every use, but that's not doing much good. Any advice?

    It seems like my problem has now been fixed. I downloaded the magic track pad multitouch update software from the apple website and installed. Surprisingly, this software was not picked up by an automatic 'software update' check just prior to downloading the specific update.
    After restarting my machine, everything seems to be working OK. As the initial problem was sporadic, I will reserve my final verdict for few days.

  • Mouse drag issue when out of boundary

    In one of my tasks for my flash project I am working on, I prompt a user to drag an orb/marble across one end of a tube into another. The functionality is all working correctly, except for one issue I have tried and tried to find a fix for. If the user starts dragging the marble, then raises the mouse above/below or anyway outside of the boundary, the mouse continues to move the object as the mouse is moved (in this case, only horizontally) if this makes any sense.
    What I want is for the marble to not move and stop dragging if the mouse is moved outside of the boundary. My code for this frame is listed below:
    stop();
    next_btn.visible = false;
    //remove Child instances from previous frame
    removeChild(hearts_mc);
    removeChild(diamonds_mc);
    removeChild(clubs_mc);
    removeChild(spades_mc);
    marble_mc.buttonMode = true;
    marble_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, moveMarble);
    marble_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropMarble);
    marble_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, dragMarble);
    reply_txt.text ="Drag the marble to the right side of the tube.";
    function moveMarble(event:MouseEvent):void {
        //set boundaries of Rectangle (x,y,width,height)
        event.target.startDrag(true, new Rectangle(54,184,486,0));
    function dropMarble(event:MouseEvent):void {
        event.target.stopDrag();
    function dragMarble(event:MouseEvent):void {
        //check if marble has reached right side of tube
        if (marble_mc.x >= 540){
            event.target.stopDrag();
        //remove event listeners after task is complete
        event.target.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, moveMarble);
        event.target.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropMarble);
        event.target.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, dragMarble);
        next_btn.visible = true;
        reply_txt.text ="Great job!";
        marble_mc.buttonMode = false;
           } else if (marble_mc.x > 54 && marble_mc.x <= 539 ){
            reply_txt.text ="Keep going!";

    Hm, I think i solved my own problem after staring at it a bit longer (my head is probably spinning circles at this point). My changes made are in bold.
    stop();

        var yCoord:Number = stage.mouseY
        //track x/y coordinates of mouse on stage
        //trace(xCoord);
        //trace(yCoord);
        if (xCoord <= 26 || yCoord <= 152 || yCoord >= 209){
            this.stopDrag();
        //check if marble has reached right side of tube
        if (marble_mc.x >= 540){
            this.stopDrag();
        //remove event listeners after task is complete

  • Host Cursor scaling issue

    I turned on Host Cursor for participants, but find that it doesn't scale correctly. Where I am pointing on my large screen as Host is not where the participant sees it!  That is worthless.  Any idea on how to fix this?  I am running Connect 9.01.
    P.S.
    I'd really like a way to enable the cursor briefly, on demand.  Like hold down some key while moving the mouse.  Having it always on or off is not effective for me. Anything I am overlooking?

    Hello,
    No one here has any access to what would be necessary to help. The problem is between your device and the Telstra network...but only they can look at their network. You need to be escalated to someone at a higher level of support who can actually look deeper to figure this out.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • Trackpad - Dragging issues?

    I recently got a new Macbook Pro to replace my month old one that had a dead hard drive (Great service at the Apple store - replaced the whole laptop instead of the drive without me asking).
    I got home, updated the laptop to the new OS and with the new Trackpad firmware. For the first couple days things seemed fine. Then I restored my user from the Time Machine backup and noticed something seems funny with the trackpad.
    If you click it's fine - tracking is fine. But holding to drag or select text has things going nuts. Most of the time if you are selecting a large area of text, you click and it starts to select and then it "forgets" as if you stopped clicking. If you press harder on the pad it may resume. Or it will get all confused and you have to stop clicking for a couple seconds and then drag again and things will be OK.
    Is this my machine, a problem with the new OS, or what?

    Don't know if this is the issue, but what machine did you originally do the Time Machine backup from? If it was originally done from a pre-unibody model, then I believe the trackpad software is different because the older trackpad had a separate trackpad and mouse button, and the new one has a combined trackpad and mouse button. I'm thinking if the older version of the trackpad software was somehow restored with time machine, it might be causing problems.
    Unfortunately, I don't know what to do to fix the problem, but my guess is that you're dealing with a software problem rather than a hardware problem.
    Good luck!

  • Window component drag issue

    Hi all,
    I've got a problem with a Flash application I'm developing.
    I'm creating an application with multiple nested screens, each of
    these screens is a Window component. The problem that I'm having is
    that if I move a Window by dragging it then set its "_visible"
    property to false then set it back to true, any other components
    inside it appear empty (for example text areas lose the text
    within, data grids lose the data within etc), sometimes you'll also
    get two copies of the Window!
    It's really easy to recreate!
    If anyone knows any way around this, I'd greatly appreciate
    it...
    Thanks,
    Lee.

    Bump :-)
    Anyone?
    Thanks in advance!
