Custom bash coloring bug?

Hi,
I notice that when I change my console color through the .bashrc file, the LS command results in the color replacement for 'white' not working past the 'blue' items. For example, in the listing for "ls", any blue items that occur will result in the "gray" text instead of the new color meant to replace it. Is there a fix for this?

Hi,
I put the 'dircolors' command in my .bashrc, but now when I login I get the following output in my shell:
LS_COLORS='rs=0:di=01;34:ln=01;36:pi=40;33:so=01;35:do=01;35:bd=40;33;01:cd=40;33;01:or=40;31;01:su=37;41:sg=30;43:tw=30;42:ow=34;42:st=37;44:ex=01;32:*.tar=01;31:*.tgz=01;31:*.arj=01;31:*.taz=01;31:*.lzh=01;31:*.lzma=01;31:*.zip=01;31:*.z=01;31:*.Z=01;31:*.dz=01;31:*.gz=01;31:*.bz2=01;31:*.bz=01;31:*.tbz2=01;31:*.tz=01;31:*.deb=01;31:*.rpm=01;31:*.jar=01;31:*.rar=01;31:*.ace=01;31:*.zoo=01;31:*.cpio=01;31:*.7z=01;31:*.rz=01;31:*.jpg=01;35:*.jpeg=01;35:*.gif=01;35:*.bmp=01;35:*.pbm=01;35:*.pgm=01;35:*.ppm=01;35:*.tga=01;35:*.xbm=01;35:*.xpm=01;35:*.tif=01;35:*.tiff=01;35:*.png=01;35:*.svg=01;35:*.svgz=01;35:*.mng=01;35:*.pcx=01;35:*.mov=01;35:*.mpg=01;35:*.mpeg=01;35:*.m2v=01;35:*.mkv=01;35:*.ogm=01;35:*.mp4=01;35:*.m4v=01;35:*.mp4v=01;35:*.vob=01;35:*.qt=01;35:*.nuv=01;35:*.wmv=01;35:*.asf=01;35:*.rm=01;35:*.rmvb=01;35:*.flc=01;35:*.avi=01;35:*.fli=01;35:*.flv=01;35:*.gl=01;35:*.dl=01;35:*.xcf=01;35:*.xwd=01;35:*.yuv=01;35:*.aac=00;36:*.au=00;36:*.flac=00;36:*.mid=00;36:*.midi=00;36:*.mka=00;36:*.mp3=00;36:*.mpc=00;36:*.ogg=00;36:*.ra=00;36:*.wav=00;36:';

This happens immediately after I login and type my password in SSH. Why is it doing this, and how can I prevent this output? Thanks.

  • Display color bug "blue tint" color issue

    I've been all too familiar with the color bug since the first week i got my led macbook pro.. back then i was using fast user switching, and noticed it.. then did some research leading to the dmproxy fix, that tuaw wrote up an applescript for. http://www.tuaw.com/2006/03/29/fixscreen-applescript-to-fix-fast-user-switching- color-bug/
    this worked for a long while... even through the leopard upgrade that I had hoped would solve it. I had to reinstall for an unrelated issue and since she doesn't use mine anymore i never set up an account for my girlfriend this time. so.. no user fast switching.. I thought i wouldn't even come across this problem again... but..
    after getting back from my christmas vacation I notice that now that it has my external display hooked up the same thing happened. perhaps it happened earlier and i didn't catch it.. but either way, the same symptoms.. bad color, blueish tint, too cool,.. etc. etc.
    Now when I try to run dmproxy, it wouldn't run.. i chalked this up to different location in leopard and found dmproxy. ran it.. and nothing.. so I go to my display sys prefs.. and attempt to calibrate the display.. it acts really funny,.. in that when the initial window comes up that has the checkbox for expert mode.. if i click that and then go to the next step.. as soon as i do, the screen changes profiles and look ten times worse.. and i'm unable to complete the calibration because nocorrect settings can make it look normal.. it has extreme tints.. if i go all the way back to the first window, it goes back to the original slightly off color.. if i try with out expert mode.. it doesn't look any better when done.. but it does give me a calibration file.
    restarting, shutting down aren't doing anything.. and It is far enough off to be very bothersome.. is there an updated fix for leopard? anyone else come across this.. i don't want to have to go to the apple store.. please help.

    I get the blue tint after my MBP wakes from screen saver, and I also have an external monitor attached. The blue tint only happens on the MBP screen, not the ext monitor. It only happens when I have the external monitor connected.
    This may be a bit early to declare a fix for this issue, because I don't think I have permanently, but here's what worked for me today. In the Display Preferences, I had created a new Display Profile for the external monitor. I switched it back to the default profile (in my case Dell 2007FP), and activated the screen saver. When I stopped the screen saver, no blue tint on the MBP screen. Switched back to my custom Display Profile and repeated the process. No blue tint. Hmmm... Now I can't get the blue tint to come back after numerous attempts, when before I could reproduce it at will.
    Give it a try and let us know if it works for you too.

  • How to make custom icc color profile work as default for all users?

    Hi!
    I've calibrated two monitors for the machine running Mavericks OS X. I've managed to move these custom icc color profiles to ColorSync folder in HDD Library, so that that they are available for all the users. However, I cannot figure out how to make these icc profiles work as default profiles for all users and not only the one I used to calibrate monitors.
    Is there a specific place I have to put custom icc profile to make it system default?
    Thank you!

    If you put the profiles in the root /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder, then each user needs to select them in their account. There isn't a way to apply them globally so each account automatically comes up that way.

  • How to get custom iCal colors to carry over to iPad or iPhone calendars

    How do I get custom calendar colors designated on my iMac to carry over to my iPad or iPhone?  It used to do so, and now it no longer does.

    Thanks Joe.  We have discovered from this forum, actually, that if you send the photos from the iPhone, if that's where they were taken, then you are asked what size.
    "If you send from the camera, then you get the option of reducing the size. If you send from your other photos synced from your computer, they don't have that option of reducing."
    I tested it by sending a couple of photos taken by my iPhone, and sure enough, was asked as to size.  Then sent the same two photos from my iPad (Photostream) and was not asked.  Interestingly though, the sizes were identical in both emails.

  • Color BUGS with new ATI 2600 HD

    People with the new MAC PROs with the ATI 2600HD cards - list your Color bugs here. And solutions if you have them!
    Here is what I am seeing:
    1. In the Color FX room, if you try to make a VIGNETTE and set the Type to anything other than "0" or "1" you get a graphics bug - basically the vignette goes crazy and creates black lines all over the screen. Both zero and one only give you a circle vignette, and 2 is supposed to give you a square vignette.
    2. Also in the Color FX room, trying to get your vignette to track along the path of a tracker seems to fail, and have the vignette move in the opposite direction.
    Anyone else seeing this please pipe in - and if you have the same video card please give these a tes on your machine and report if you can reproduce this bug!

    Stuart,
    http://www.barefeats.com/harper8.html reports that the X1900 will work in the new Mac Pro towers, with one caveat: you must flash the card with the new firmware upgrade in an older, 1st gen Mac Pro.

  • Customizing Cursor Color and/or appearance:  Does anyone know if you can change cursor color?

    Customizing Cursor Color and/or appearance:  Does anyone know if you can change cursor color in Mountain Lion? Any software for customizing and saving different cursors for Mountain Lion? Already have cursor size changed, but would like more options. Are more cursor customization options coming in future Mac OS X versions?

    There may be some haxies/3rd party s/w that can do this, but I've not heard of them.
    Customisation is limited on macs, unless you start hacking deep into the coreservices of the system - dodgy at best and almost certainly to get reset on the next update from Apple central

  • [Solved] ncmpcpp & Bash Colors?

    I'm posting this in the newbie corner, because I suspect that it's a really noob question.  Plus, this is my first post:
    I'm messing around with ncmpcpp, trying to get it looking nice.  I found the "post your ncmpcpp config" thread, and found a couple of configurations that I really liked... mostly because of the color schemes.  So, I tryied copying the configs linked, and the colors end up really different on my screen.
    At first I thought it was something to do with the config file, but I don't think so anymore... I've tried looking for bash color schemes, but haven't found anything that really seemed to do what I wanted.
    Example:
    See the config found in this post: linky
    Look at the linked screenshot, and compare it to what I see on my machine:
    My machine
    What I've got: rxvt-Unicode-256color, ncmpcpp.
    So, what's the stupid little detail that I'm missing?

    There is a page on the Wiki detailing how you can contribute: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Getting_Involved
    You can also donate, if you would like to make a monetary contribution.
    Essentially, there are any number of avenues for you to support Arch; it depends on your skills and your enthusiasm. Read the Wiki, become as familiar as you can with the Arch Way and then lend a hand where you feel best able to help out - all and any contributions are welcomed if they are consistent with the Arch philosophy.

  • Set Marker Color Bug

    I was relieved after much digging to find you can make a keyboard shortcut to make a marker of a specific color with just one click.  As opposed to making a marker and then going back to it to change its color.
    However for some reason when using this while playing a clip, this only works in a timeline, or on a video clip.  When I use the same command on an audio only file, i.e. music cue.  It just creates a marker of the default color 1.  - This is only when playing the clip.  If you park the playhead it works as expected no mater what the clip is.
    I'm frustrated, because the main reason I needed this feature was to tap out the beats in music for easier editing while I listen to the music cue (in real time).  I like to use color 1 for each beat in the 4-4 measure, and on the fourth measure tap out a new color so i can see where it repeats.. that way I can easily cut from color 2 to color 2 almost anywhere in the song seamlessly.  Sometimes I choose a third color when the melody loops so I know I can smoothly truncate a song with little to no effort.
    I noticed after the fact I can jump back to the marker and change it's color with the tool.. it just won't do it on an audio file while it's playing.
    Is this just a bug?  Just a bug on my system? Is it an intentional workflow on Adobe's part for some reason?  Anyone else having this problem?
    To map it open up keyboard shortcuts and sift for "set marker color"

    Yes, I know it. But if I set attribute values on my page, everything is right. If I set it from code, there is an error.
    I think that it is a bug, because component, for which I set attribute, has client id like: UIDataId:rowIndex:componentId. I set value to component on the third row, and have this value on components on the third and the fifth row.
    To tell the truth, I am sure, that it is a bug. If it is not so, please tell me, how an I set attribute value to component, which I need. Is there any way? I think, no. And it is a bug.

  • Customizing "Disabled" color for specific components only

    Hello,
    when uncommenting the "UIManager.put(...)" line in the following code all combos display their text ungreyed when disabled. But how to proceed, if you want to give this feature only to specific combos? Setting the foreground colour, even when done in an own renderer, doesn't work.
    There has been a discussion of the same problem in
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=57&threadID=276411
    but it always comes back to the overall solution with the UIManager.
    If the solution should be to write an own ComboUI, does anybody have an example, for my own attempt badly failed.

  • Custom icon editor BUG

    If you use a custom Icon editor (as shown here and here), and you want to create a smaller Icon this will be meaningless.
    Because the lv_icon interface only allows you to generate the 2-colour and 256 colour icon. The 16 colour icon will be untouched so the total size of the icon will still be 32x32 pixels.
    I consider this a serious bug in the lv_icon customization scheme.

    That "complaint thing" is the bug reporting tool, there is no
    bug
    tracking system, its the only way your going to be able to
    communicate
    with Adobe about the bug. There is no list of bugs, and you

  • ColdFusion Builder 3 Code Coloring Bug

    Hello CFBuilders,
    I encountered what I believe is a bug within CFBuilder 3 (standalone and Eclipse plugin) where code coloring breaks after you insert a comment in a function with named arguments.  To replicate the issue copy/paste the following code in CF Builder:
    <!--- Sample Bug: Code Coloring  --->
    <cfset myFunction(
          argument1 = "strawberries",
          argument2 = "bananas", <!--- these are my favorite --->
          argument3 = "blueberries",
          argument4 = "pineapples"
    ) />
    <cfset test = "test" />
    You should see argument3,argument4, and the closing bracket are colored incorrectly.  If you encounter the same issue and you'd like to see this fixed please feel free to vote for this bug here:
    Bug#3831825 - Code Coloring Breaks When Comments Used Within Function with Named Arguments
    It should be noted that Dreamweaver can handle this type of code coloring situation fine.

    They say they fixed this, but the release has been sitting in beta testing for AGES. They said this was fixed last month but they sure are taking their sweet time releasing anything through the update site.

  • Custom control color property

    With the included controls like the OK boolean you can change the true or false color by going to Properties >> Apperance >>Colors.  Then click the color box to change the state color.  Is it possible to do the same with a custom boolean control?
      I have searched some and it does not sound like it is possible, but I figured that I would ask.  I have a diagram where I used some pipes from the DSC module image navigator to make some boolean pipes.  I just changed the properties for the different colors then pasted them into a boolean control for true/false cases.  But now I am thinking of changing the colors from gray/red to gray/green.  Is there an easier way than just starting over and making new booleans with the desired colors?  Or is there a better trick for custom controls I don't know?
    Thanks

    Here is a sample of the control as a type def and a vi with the Colors(4) property cluster.  I must be doing this wrong or not explaining it correctly.  So if you could look at the files and be able straighten me out I would appreciate it.

  • 3D Graph Color Bug

    I am just discovering the new 3D graph objects (LV 2010) and noticed some odd behavior.
    If you color the Graph object (not the plots), this cannot be undone (in other words Ctrl-Z does not work).
    This is fine since a simple work around is to paint the object back with the original color.
    I think it qualifies as a bug nonetheless.
    However, here is an even more odd thing: if you paint the "ViewPoint" buttons (or whatever they are called), depending on where you click with the brush, you may end up with a square smack in the middle of the button as shown below (bottom right):
    The problem is that there does not seem to be a workaround.
    Since Ctrl-Z does not work, I tried to paint the square with a transparent color, and a few color combinations, but could not find a way to revert to the original "no square hidding the glyph" situation.
    The only fix is to "Revert" to the previous VI status (which is pretty drastic), or delete the Graph object and put a brand new one instead (or replace it by a brand new one), which is barely less drastic.
    Is this a known "feature"?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi there, so that behavior is intended but there is a workaround that I was able to find for you.  The attached vi lets you color the 3d graph and modify the properties and those properties will stay after you save.

    Dear SOA Gurus,    Can you please tell me if there is a way to convert a SAP T-Code into a Web-Service. Also, can you please share your thoughts on how I can convert an ABAP report into a WebService and call it from Java stack. Thanks! Surya.
