What is the difference between DCS.DynamicCustomCatalog and DCS.CustomCatalog ?
Can we assign a catalog to a user using ACC, for example in ATG's CommerceReferenceStore can we assign only "Home Store Catalog" to a user ?
( Presently in CRS 10, which have multisite functionality, "Catlog" property of "Profile" updates based on the user Navigation to site, for example if user is in "Store" then "Catalog" property value is "Master Catalog" and if user is in "Home Store" site "Catalog" property value is "Home Store Catalog".Can we assign a fixed catalog for any user using ACC)

You should not need to customize CatalogProfilePropertySetter. If you always want to use a manually assigned catalog for all users, regardless of what site they're visiting, you can simply configure CatalogProfilePropertySetter.enabled to false. If you want to use a manually assigned catalog for some users and the site default catalog for other users, the component you should customize is /atg/commerce/util/ContextValueRetriever, class atg.commerce.util.ContextValueRetriever. You'll need some way of distinguishing which users have a manually assigned catalog and which ones should use the site default. Please read the section named "Assigning a Catalog to a User" in the Commerce Programming Guide. It describes ContextValueRetriever in some detail.

Issue while creating a custom Catalog in HR Renewal.

Hello Experts,
I have created a custom Catalog and assigned chips to it using the Suite Page Builder Admin Page. The catalog id is also assigned to a new role in the backend. I can now see the catalog id status changed from the draft to released in the SPB. However when I try to open this role using NWBC HTML I encounter the following error "The user menu tree for user XXXXXX with role XXXXXXX is empty. Please contact your system administrator.
Could you please help resolving the error or provide some hints to check if i have missed something.

How to Create, Save and Restore a Custom Catalog in PE 6?

I am having great difficulty in trying to create a custom catalog using the organizer function of PE 6. Upon opening the organizer I have many photos already depicted in it. So, I highlight them all and delete them obtaining a blank screen with no photos. I then import the file containing only the custom photos I want to catalog. I then backup this catalog using the following procedure http://www.backuphowto.info/how-to-backup-adobe-photoshop-elements-6-catalogue Everything looks fine until I try to restore it at a future time. It doesn't restore! In fact I can browse to the saved file but am unable to get the locate backup file location to change to it??
What am I doing wrong and can anyone help me acheive my objective of creating a custom catalog that I can save and retrieve intact for later use?
Thanks, in advance, for any help provided. Oh, and I need to add I am relatively new to PE 6 having only previously used PE 4 and never used the organizer in it which is to say - lead me very simply please.

I can't imagine the purpose of a "custom catalog". Seems to me you have done a lot of work when I am 100% sure there is an easier way to do whatever it is you are trying to accomplish. Further, it seems like you are trying to create a backup of only some of your photos, and I can't imagine the purpose of that either ... I would presume you would want to make backups of your entire collection of photos.
Just as a general rule, there usually isn't a good reason to have more than one catalog (unless you have separate categories of photos, like personal and work).
Everything looks fine until I try to restore it at a future time. It doesn't restore!
Can you give us a detail or two about what happens when "it doesn't restore"? Can you give us more details about what you actually did? And most importantly, can you describe what you see on the screeN? Screen captures would be even better.

Suite Page Builder Trasport a Custom Catalog

Hi Experts,
I am using Suite Page Builder to create some custom catalogs for HR Renewal. I have added the following parameters to my user:
Parameter /UI2/WDC_DEVCLASS: mapped this parameter to a Z-package
Parameter /UI2/WD_TRKORR_CONF: mapped this to a workbench request
Parameter /UI2/WD_TRKORR_CUST: mapped this to a customizing request
When I create a new custom catalog I do not see it included in any of the above requests.
Could you please assist on this?

How to include /Exclude products in customer catalog view.

We are using CRM 4.0 with internet sales applications (ISA).We have product catalog setup in webshop where customer/customer service team given access to view products based on the different product hierarchy.
This is enabled though creation of multiple customer views
Now we have a requirement that customer need to view only few product out of the product category level assignment but asper the current system if a particular product category is marked then it show all the product under the product category in hierarchy assignment
Which means assume there are 100 products assigned to a product category ID under customer view, but customer has show all the 100 products but he need to view only 50 products out of 100 products assigned
We need to find out if it is possible to include / exclude products from a customer view not based on the product hierarchy / category ID.
Is that possible? we tried Partner product range but not sure ...can anyone throw some light in it... please let me know if I'm not clear on this.

The app builder prior to 8.x was only designed to install the application you created. The actual instrument driver VIs should be included in the app but the IVI driver itself (the low level dll) is not. You should really include the installer for the IVI driver and not just the dlls. This is the .msi file that is on the instrument driver download page. If you are getting an error about VISA32, then it sounds like VISA was not installed either. I usually install VISA and NI-GPIB from the CD that comes with the GPIB board and I do this when I install the board into the computer. However, you can also include these installers with your app as well. On the Installer Settings tab, click the Advanced button. You have the option there of 'Run executable after installation'. The simplest thing to do is to create a .bat file that will call the other installers you include with the distribution. Don't forget that you also need the IVI Compliance Package so include that installer as well.

How are you adding the catalog? The error clearly means that the DB query is inserting null into the ASSET_VERSION column of DCS_GEN_FOL_CAT table. ASSET_VERSION column is non-null and required to maintain the repository asset versions in ATG content administration (CA).
I suspect that you probably tried to do something which resulted in inserting into CA schema's DCS_GEN_FOL_CAT table outside a CA project context. You should add the catalog folder through BCC to have a CA project context. In case you are importing the data by executing startSQLRepository on CA schema then make sure that it is imported within a project context by specifying project, user, and comment options.

User Specific catalog UI configuration - Custom catalog user role

We need different user specific layout settings for each user. i have duplicated catalog user role for each user and maintained specific named search for that particular user in constraint. but when we want to configure specific layout for individual user. its not showing that catalog user in the catalog config UI for the layout configuration. please advice. if it shows that specific user then we would configure each specific user layout with individual look and feel ( like shopping lists, search fields, images, etc., ). thanks for your inputs.

I guess you are on SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0
We have the same business scenario as yours. Its working perfectly for us.
1. Donot copy Catalog User role. SRM-MDM UI Config only accepts users assigned under std Catalog User role. You dont need mutiple copies of Catalog user role, anyways it wont work.
2. Create multiple webservices for each Named search. Provide one User (like User1, User2...or your own created ones) and one Named Search as following parameters in each webservice.
          http://<your server:port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
username     User<n>
password     <password>
server     <your server>
repositoryType     M ( for Master ) S (for Slave) - Make sure you are pointing to right repo if you have master/slave
catalog     <provide Repository name- make sure you are giving right repository name, I provided it wrong first time>

datalanguage     SY-LANGU
mask     < keep blank if you want dynamic search>
namedsearch     <Provide exact Named search name as you provided in Data Manager>

If you are creating 5 different Named searches, create 5 different webservice definitions as above.
3. Now for each Catalog user, you can perform separate search UI layout as you wish.

Best Practices for Unlinked Assets in Custom Catalogs

Is it a best practice to have unlinked categories, products, skus in the product catalog?
How do folks typically deal with assets that are no longer active?

It is better to have one dummy category to assign all these unlinked assets, and you have to make sure this category should restricted from search engine and it should not display in b2c site. its just a temparay category which will have all the unliked assets under that category.
if you want to show a particular product in b2c site in near future, then you have assign that product to respective category and you can delete that product relationship from this dummy category.

Custom Catalog layout

I have catalog & sub-catalog pages. I would like to have unique slideshows (that I have already set up) instead of product displayed on the catalog (menu) pages. The sub-catalog pages (sub-menus) can stay as-is, displaying product. I have gotten around it by creating pages with slideshows & using these for the catalog pages instead of the E-Commerce pages need to use E-Commerce catalog pages for the site hierarchy & bredcrumbs. The reason this code might be interfering with your breadcrumbs has everything to do with javascript errors. The fiddle I showed you doesn't need to be included in your site-- it's just an example of what's going wrong with your site right now. If you use "jQuery.noConflict();" the way you are it negates the $ and jQuery variables you can normally use to access jQuery methods. It's just an example of the way you are using it is actually breaking all your javascript calls to jQuery.
"jQuery.noConflict();" is in your HEAD element in your page templates and also on line 1 of jquery.main.js. So on line 1 of jquery.main.js this:

Becomes:

And in your page templates this:

That should make it so your slideshows and the rest of your javascripts work again-- right now they aren't working and it doesn't really have to do with the script I provided you.
But-- you don't want to add that script to your catalog.html template because it was repeating that script for every catalog-- we only need that script called once per page so you can simply add it to the end of jquery.main.js file. Trust me-- that script itself has nothing to do with the breadcrumbs acting up. Do these steps and get back to me.

Customizing catalog profiles in notification and work orders

I have been trying to figure out two problems:
1- I would like to add one more catalog code to notification; therefore, there will be object part, damage, cause and activity. I would like to make this like a picture posted below. Catalogs in tab is not feasible and easy to enter.
2- Is it possible to show all catalogs (object-damage-cause-activity) in work order tab? There are only two catalogs and I would like to add two more.

1. This is a standard screen area (015), which can not be modified.
So you need to go fro screen-Exit to have a screen area with Activity fields under this one. Obviously Coding will be done in PBO and PAI to input values of the Z-fields to the real activity fields of the table (VIQMMA).
Screen-Exit in Enhancement QQMA0001 will help.
2. Similarly, for Order issue too you need to take help of Enhancement (Screen-Exits) IWO10018.
Both jobs will be deep technical jobs.
I do not see alternative ways other than developments for these requirements.

Custom Product catalog item text not displayed after product search

Hello Experts,
1. We have configured a custom PCAT_ITM text - Product catalog item text. - (say 000A )
2. Have appropriate text determination procedure, access sequence to determine this custom text
3. The text determination procedure has been chosen in the custom catalog type.
The above steps lets us use and publish this custom text in catalog using the text id ( TEXT000A_ ).
4. For accessing this text in the ISA Catalog search, we have maintained the text-id mapping in the file catalog-site-config.xml as follows:

Well, the issue now is, this setup works fine only in certain pages, but not in some other pages.
a. Works fine in ProductDetails.inc.jsp - currentItem.getAttribute("TEXT_000A") gives the right catalog item text value.
b. Doesn't work in organizer-content-product-search1.jsp - product.getCatalogItem().getAttribute("TEXT_000A"). Though the expectation is to get the catalog item text, we get a value "TRUE", yes (TRUE).
Can any expert tell if we are missing anything.
