Custom Chart Background in BSP

Hello Experts,
We are having few difficulties when using custom image in SAP designer and using the same in Custom Model method. Currently we are ge3tting a disturbed black image as a background.
Standard texture works fine. We are at IGS patch level 21.
Is there any restriction on the type of image that needs to be used. (we are using 24 bit bmp file)
(Or)
Do we need to convert the image to some particular resolution.
Could you please let us know your views on this.

Note 1061718 describes such a symptom. However, using patchlevel 21 this should work fine.
Anyway, using a GIF or JPG is much better than BMP concerning its size!
Independent of the image format you have to make sure that a proper customizing XML is sent to the IGS: make sure that the image is part of the XML (at the end of the XML you should find it mime64-encoded); also check if the XML can also be opened with e.g. IE (it will complain when trying to load invalid XML).
Usually the XML gets corrupted when trying to create is by simply using CONCATENATE etc!

Keynote and Numbers do not have a tool for making Donut Graphs. There are ways to make them using HTML, but I prefer to cheat:
1 Create your first graph as a pie chart and add a circle of solid color to the center
2. If you need more, take a screenshot of the pie chart with the center fill and drag the screenshot into Preview - in Preview > Select Tool (pulldown from Toolbar) > Instant Alpha and remove the inner filled circle and outer fill then Save As > PNG with Alpha
3. Drag your new hollow shape into Keynote. This chart can be placed over another pie chart with a filled center (the fill should match the background)
Not as graceful as a special tool but can get the job done quickly - changing the data requires starting it over since at least one of your donuts my be an image rather than a pie chart with variable data.
Try it. If you need more specific tools, Google Donut Shaped Charts for starts.

Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its Encore

My project is edited in CS4.
I moved it to Encore CS4.
I don't want to use any of the supplied menu templates in CS4 Encore.
I was hoping CS4 would be all I needed to create custom menus using scenes from my project.
My question is: Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its built in Encore or do I need some other element from the Adobe catalog to make these custom chapter menus and sub-menus?

OK, I'm back. Here are my steps for creating Custom Menus with PS, En and PrPro:
In PrPro, move the CTI (Current Time Indicator) to the desired Frame. Check Frames on either side, with the Program Monitor’s Magnification to 100%, or maybe even 200% (you’ll need to scroll, but get a really clear picture). You want the clearest Frame in that area. With AME, in CS4, you’ll want to Export that Frame as .TIFF, or .BMP. I use .TIFF for this.
Now, for a caveat. When you Import this Exported Frame into Photoshop, be sure to check the specs., especially the PAR. You may have to use Image>PAR to adjust this to match your Project’s specs. Or, all might be perfect - just check this out.
Now, at this point, I choose the Library Menu, Blank, so that everything is setup. One can create the Menu from scratch, but careful attention needs to be paid to the exact naming conventions. At the very least, unless you’ve done this dozens of times before, use that Blank Menu, or similar as a guide, so you get things done, as they must be done.
Using that Blank Menu, just drag the Layer from your Exported Frame to your Menu image. It will appear above the black Background.
Add, or manipulate your Button Layer Sets, as is required, keeping them together. Remember that Button #1 will be the Button Layer Set, that is lower down in the Layers Palette. This can play a roll with Button Routing, back in Encore. Lower Button Layer Sets will have lower Button numbers.
Now, I always rename my Button Layer Sets, keeping the required characters - just changing the name. I also do all of my Button text in PS, and make sure to turn OFF Sync Button Names.
When done, Save_As .PSD, and then Import_As_Menu into Encore. Note: if you start with the Blank Menu, you can choose Edit in Photoshop, and then when done in PS, you just need to Save, and it will update in Encore. This is a personal workflow choice. I do the Edit in Photoshop route, but it is not necessary. One just needs to Import the resulting .PSD into Encore with Import_As_Menu, so that Encore does all the things that it needs to and recognizes the .PSD as a Menu.
When deciding what to base your Menu on, remember that you can "populate" your Menu with Buttons from the Functional Content. I’d suggest studying these Assets, and picking the ones that work best for you. You can still alter/edit those back in PS, so you just need to "get close."
Pay special attention to the required naming conventions. You cannot deviate from those first characters in the Button Layer Sets. They MUST be followed.

In iMovie 11 can you make a custom color background for text other than the stock backgrounds?
If so how?

imagine for a second a 'background' as a 'photo' or graphic:
use any 'Paint'-app (Pixelmator, Photoshop/elements, abuse Keynote/iWork ... ), or download any .jpg you'd like to see as 'background' from the web.
drag into Project, drag Title over it.

X-axis values on Custom charts

Hi,
I have a Custom chart with the Pen Type as Line.
If I plot a numerical values as the X-axis, the X-axis ranges do not come as expected.
e.g. If my data comes as shown below and I am plotting column A on the X-axis, then the
X-axis labels would read as 6,8,5,4,3.

When I plot a Line Chart with the same data, the X-axis labels come properly in order(3,4,5,6,8).
If I do an explicit sort on the X-axis column, then the Custom Chart gets plotted correctly, but the requirement is such that I cannot do an explicit sort on the dataset.
Can anybody help me out on this?

The chart will plot them in data set order, so that is what you need to address. If your dataset is coming from an SQLQuery then do your sorting in the query or procedure. For non-sql results consider using the GenericSortFilter.xsl as an InlineTransform in your query template, or the sort filter action block in BLS if your chart is being fed by an XacuteQuery.

go to t -code st01 and switch on the trace on top and tick the buttons in that and after that ....check for working manager user id first and do it with this user which is not working u can know any authorisations are missing assign them for this user ..ur issue will be solved

Change Chart background color during runtime

I want to change the background color of my chart during runtime.
I can set and read-out the color with a property node but the apperance on the frontpanel is not changing.
After stopping the VI the chart suddenly gets updated.
Please check my VI attached.
Do someone knows a workaround?

another option would be to place (for example) a vertical smooth box behind the chart and change the color of it.

Generating custom chart

Hi,
I am facing the following problem while generating charts.
I have a tag query returning current values of two tags - T1 and T2.
If I am plotting the chart at 12.20,
The X-axis points would be 11.30, 12.00, 12.30, 1.00.
T2 should be shown as bar in the current 30 minutes range, i.e. 12.00 to 12.30
T1 should be plotted as a straight line for the whole duration.
I have used a Custom chart setting the pen type to Line for T1 and pen type as Bar for T2. If I set the value at 12.00 to T2 and for all all other X-axis points to 0, I get a bar at 12.00. How can I set the bar in the range from 12 to 12.30?
If I iterate through all the points in the range 12 to 12.30 and set it to T2, then the X-axis range goes haywire!
Can anybody help me out? Thanks.

I am creating this xml dynamically thro a txn at the time the chart is generated. The above xml was created at 2008-02-01T14:56:11.
AvgValue is set to 2.41 at 2008-02-01T14:30:11 and zero at other points.
Am I going wrong in creating the xml?

10.7.4 Update disables my custom login background

I've been using a custom login background tile by the usual method; replacing NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor.png in System-->Library-->Frameworks-->AppKit.framework-->Versions-->C-->Resources. After the 10.7.4 update, my custom tile is still in the correct place, but the system is displaying the stock login background. Anyone else seeing this?

To be honest, this was never an officially supported "feature" under Lion, and it is fairly well known (by me anyway) that as such, it is possibly going to be broken in a future update.
I do agree that it is necessary in some environments to assure the end user knows in no uncertain terms that the machine they are logging into is not "their property". The login text is insufficient for some users, as "who takes the time to read stuff?" (shrug) A custom login screen background introduces the user to that condition without assuming a level of attention that is not in evidence.
I also agree you should not HAVE to be a developer to change the basic OS environmental characteristics like backgrounds. It is, at the least, annoying.

Interpolate lines by Pen in a Custom Chart

I built an SPC chart as a custom chart type and have four data series plotted (process, center line, UCL, and LCL).
I would like to non-interpolate the UCL and LCL pens only - and leave all other data series interpolated, but noticed there is no option on the "data series detail tab" to turn off interpolation by data series; there is only a global option to have all series interpolated or non interpolated on the "chart area" tab.
Any ideas?

Ok, if that's the case I can go and change the transaction - but there's no way to just toggle interpolation by series on the display template?
It would be nice to get the UCL and LCL looking like "steps" right from the display template. But oh well.

Custom Chart disappears in Powerpivot 2013

I've created a dashboard using difference datasources in Powerpivot 2013. I've created a reference table in which I use a slicer that has a relationship with all my pivots/charts. Due to the changing of dates (fiscal years), there are times
when no data would be available in the charts. My issue is that if I select an option from my slicer, and there is no data, I lose the custom chart I created AND the formatting is lost. For example; I am using custom charts
(mostly a mix of bar / line with markers). If I choose a Region with no data, the chart goes blank. When I clear the filter from the slicer, the data comes back, but it seems to go to the first chart selected in the combo custom chart and I lose
the line with markers.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!

Issues with Custom Chart

Hi,
I am facing some issues with custom charts.
1. X Axis value is getting cut off. Given date as x axis parameter and last 2 digits of date is getting cut off. (format like 19-Apr-2011T00:00:00). And this value cut of happening only for custom chart.
2. On right click of the custom chart, when i am selecting Preview, it opens a new pop up window with and error as Error: "Application error occurred during the request processing.". No preview is being generated.
3. In Server Scaling, i checked Use global auto scaling, and many times it is showing improper y axis or mutiple y axis values with the same value or it is displaying improper global range

Without seeing your data and your chart configuration, it is difficult to understand exactly the issues you are encountering. I have the same JRE and the same version and build of MII as you. I have no difficulty with the scaling or with Global Range, but problems displaying the date in my tests.
I would suggest the you enter a ticket into the SAP Support System, and enclose a copy of your data (run the query, use Browser with Content Type = text/xml) and export a copy of you display template.
Lastly, what type of query are you using - sql, tag?
