Custom class template/wizard?

I am using JDeveloper10gPreview. Coding standards require me to add substantial header comments including CVS fields to all of my classes. What I would like is to have JDeveloper fill in my new class with a standard template which I provide.
Is there a way to do this?
Do I have to write a gallery wizard extension of can I just tweak a template somewhere?
Thanks!

Check the templatemaker add in from the JDev extensions page.

  • Oracle Custom Class Wizard generating "IsNull" bool fields

    Hi there,
    we're using Visual Studio 2005, Oracle 11g and ODTwithODAC1110621.
    I need to generate custom classes to map Oracle UDT's.
    The generate process works fine but it creates additional fields like "private bool m_SomeFieldIsNull;"
    I've spotted that this occurs at least for Oracle Number and TimeStamp fields.
    Does anybody knows why the wizard behaves like that ?
    After generating the custom classes i need to make them implement some interfaces.
    Does anybody knows a way to automate this instead of going to the code and manually do it ?
    Could it be done by extending the wizard behaviour ?
    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers,
    Ricardo

    don'u use the mapping type xml, you sholud use the attribute type mapping, for more information please see the examples folder.

  • Build app with ODT and Oracle UDT - Error while creating custom class

    Hello CShay,
    I am testing you sample code to create UDT with ASP.Net app. It is also published in Oracle magazine.
    The article is also published at following link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/08-may/o38net.html
    I am able to successfully implement all the steps before "Using Custom Class Wizard". When I right click on any of the object (CUSTOMER_OBJ, PHONELIST_OBJ, and ADDRESS_OBJ) and select Generate Custom Class, I get the following error:
    Oracle custom class wizard.
    Class can be generated only for either C#, VB or Managed C++ projects.
    Am I missing any thing?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Yes I confirm that I choose File->New Website.
    I don't see the following option
    File -> New Project, and then under Visual C#, select ASP.NET Web Application
    I am using VS2005 Professional Edition.
    The options I see under Visual C# are:
    If I click on
    Windows tab:
    Windows Application
    Windows Control Library
    Console Application
    Empty Project
    Class Library
    Web Control Library
    Window Servcie
    Crystal Report Application
    and Search Online Templates in My Templates tab.
    Couple of options for Smart Device which also doesn't include ASP.Net
    then Database, Starter kits and Office tabs which also doesn't include ASP.net thing.
    I don't know how did you see that option or you might be using different version of VS (Enterprise).
    But right now I am stuck.
    Please provide me your valuable comments.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Use of deployment classpath or shared-libraries to pick-up "custom" classes

    Hi,
    I’m trying to determine an approach to dealing with how classes are found in a deployed ADF application via classpath, etc. I’ve tried to explain the situation below as best I can so it’s clear. If you have any comments/suggestions as to how this could be done, it would be much appreciated
    Current Application structure:
    Consists of an application initially deployed to OC4J 10.1.3.4 using an alesco-wss.ear file
    Application contains a single Web Module, initially deployed as wss.war file within the alesco-wss.ear file above.
    The Web Module (wss) was built in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 using 2 projects, a Model and ViewController project, and uses ADFBC.
    The Model project seems to also generate an alesco-model.jar file in the /WEB-INF/lib/ folder, even though Model classes are in the /WEB-INF/classes/ folder below?
    Exploded structure of application on application server looks something like:
    applications/alesco-wss/META-INF/
    /application.xml <- specifies settings for the Application such as Web Module settings
    /wss/
    /app/ <- directory containing application .jspx pages protected by security
    /images/ <- directory containing application images
    /infrastructure/ <- directory containing .jspx files for login, logout and error reduced security
    /skins/ <- directory containing Skin image, CSS and other files
    /WEB-INF/
    /classes/ <- directory containing application runtime class files as per package sub-directories
    /lib/ <- JAR files used by application (could move some to shared-libaries?) – seems to contain alesco-model.jar
    /regions/ <- directory containing .jspx pages used for Regions within JSPX template page
    /templates/ <- directory containing template .jspx pages used for development (not really required for deployment)
    /adf-faces-config.xml
    /adf-faces-skins.xml
    /faces-config.xml
    /faces-config-backing.xml
    /faces-config-nav.xml
    /region-metadata.xml
    /web.xml
    testpage.jspx <- Publicly accessible page just to test
    The application runs successfully using the above deployment structure.
    We plan to use the exploded deployment structure so that updates to pages, etc. can be applied individually rather than requiring construction and re-deployment of complete .EAR or .JAR files.
    What I’m trying to determine/establish is whether there is a mechanism to cater for a customisation of a class, where such a class would be used instead of the original class, perhaps using a classpath mechanism or shared library?
    For example, say there is a class “talent2.alesco.model.libraries.ModelUtil.class”, this would in the above structure be found under:
    applications/alesco-wss/META-INF/classes/talent2/alesco/model/libraries/ModelUtil.class
    Classes using the above class would import “talent2.alesco.model.libraries.ModelUtil”, so they effectively use that full-reference to the class (talent2.alesco.model.libraries as a path, either expanded or within a JAR).
    From the Oracle Containers for J2EE Developer’s Guide 10.1.3 page 3-17, it lists the following:
    Table 3–1 Configuration Options Affecting Class Visibility
    Classloader Configuration Option
    Configured shared library <code-source> in server.xml
    <import-shared-library> in server.xml
    app-name.root <import-shared-library> in orion-application.xml
    <library> jars/directories in orion-application.xml
    <ejb> JARs in orion-application.xml
    RAR file: all JARs at the root.
    RAR file: <native-library> directory paths.
    Manifest Class-Path of above JARs
    app-name.web.web-mod-name WAR file: Manifest Class-Path
    WAR file: WEB-INF/classes
    WAR file: WEB-INF/lib/ all JARs
    <classpath> jars/directories in orion-web.xml
    Manifest Class-Path of above jars.
    search-local-classes-first attribute in orion-web.xml
    Shared libraries are inherited from the app root.
    We have reasons why we prefer not to use .JAR files for these “non-standard” or “replaced” classes, so prefer an option that doesn’t involve creating a .JAR file.
    Our ideal solution would be to have such classes placed in an alternate directory that is referred to in a classpath such that IF a class exists in that location, it will be used instead of the one in the WEB-INF/classes/ directories, and if not such class is found it would then locate it in the WEB-INF/classes/ directories.
    - Can a classpath be set to look for such classes in a directory?
    - Do the classes have to replicate the original package directory structure within that directory (<dir>/talent2/alesco/model/libraries)?
    - If the class were put in such a directory, without replicating the original package directory structure, I assume the referencing “import” statements would not locate it correctly.
    - Is the classpath mechanism “clever” enough to search the package directory structure to locate the class (i.e. just points to <dir>)?
    - Or would the classpath mechanism require each individual path replicating the package structure to be added (i.e. <dir>/talent2/alesco/model/libraries/ and any other such package path)?
    If we are “forced” to resort to the use of JAR files, does a JAR file used for the purpose of overwrite/extending a sub-set of classes in the original location need to contain ALL related package classes? Or does it effectively “superset” classes it finds in all JAR files, etc. in the whole classpath? That is, it finds talent2.alesco.model.libraries.ModelUtil in the custom.jar file and happily goes on to get the remainder of talent2.alesco.model.libraries classes in the other core JAR/location. Or does it need all of them to be in the first JAR file for that package?
    Any help would be appreciated to understand how these various class visibility mechanisms could be used to achieve what is required would be appreciated.
    Gene

    So, nobody's had any experience with deploying an ADF application, and providing a means for a client to place custom classes in such a way as they're used in preference to the standard application class, effectively to implement a customised class without overwriting the original "standard" class?

  • Custom Administrative Template Error 53 Key name specified more than once

    Hi All,
    Hope I've picked the correct forum. I am making my first foray into setting up a custom administrative template for some software that is developed in house. The current deployment method is to merge a reg file on each computer that requires the registry
    settings. I am trying to set this up so that it is controlled via GPO.
    My idea is that in the a GP can set the registry settings for one or more areas that are controlled by the software.
    The problem I have - I get Error 53 Keyname specified more than once on Line 9 (second KEYNAME). In total I will have about 30 different sites this needs to be set up for.
    Does this mean that I can't set more than one registry key per "Policy" setting in the GPO?

    Is the report template definitely of type Named Column (row template) (defined on App Builder page 4000:4654) and not Generic Columns (column template) (defined on page 400:258)?
    Note that the <tt>#ALIGNMENT#</tt> substitution string is not supported in named column templates. Set column alignment explicitly using HTML attributes in the template, or use CSS.
    This would redirect to the page 6 when user click anywhere on a row but it doesn’t work.

    {code}Where do you see this? It looks like there's a mismatch between the report columns returned by the query and those referenced in the report template. Or the data contains unsafe HTML characters that aren't being escaped.
    Yes, my report query has a column called ID and it's set as Hidden. This could be the problem. In a report based on a named column template any columns referenced in the template must be +shown+ in the report, even if (as in this case) the column value is not visible to the user: the positioning of the <tt>#ID#</tt> column placeholder in the <tt>onclick</tt> attribute rather than in a table cell is what makes it "hidden". *The Show checkbox for the ID column must be checked.*
    From the gobbledygook being generated it looks like there could be a row selector checkbox column in this report as well? Named column row templates must include substitution placeholders for every shown column. It's also advisable to keep the columns in the same order in the SQL, report column attributes and row template.
    Something like
    {code}
    &lt;tr onclick="redirect('f?p=&APP_ID.:6:&SESSION.:::6:P6_NAS:#ID#');"&gt;
    <td class="t16data_edit">#CHECK$01#</td>
    <td class="t16data_edit">#NAME#</td>
    <td class="t16data_edit">#BIRTH#</td>
    </tr>
    {code}
    I realized that problem is caused by #ID# because if I hardcode this ID, it works.
    How can my report template get the “ID” from my query report ?If the above doesn't help then the easiest way to troubleshoot this would be for you to upload the app to apex.oracle.com and post guest developer credentials for the workspace so we can see the whole thing: template, SQL, and report attributes. Otherwise we're likely to and up with a lot of tedious to and fro here posting bits of code and attribute values.

  • Custom Report Template Issue

    Hi,
    I have a Custom Report Template, it is a Named Column(Row) Report that I have created. It seems I can get the look and feel I want on a per row basis. But when I try and convert it to be able to loop through for a specific type, like a break on the first column, it gets all messed up. I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light for me on this I have tried everything
    Here is the row template
    <table width="100%"  border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000">
       <tr  class="Tabledetail">

    Yes this html is probably from 1998 or 1999 I think they told me actually lol
    So there is no way to accomplish what I am trying to do then?
    There is no way I could use a break on first column and modify the header info to get the same sort of look and feel?Still not really clear what you are trying to accomplish, and in my view there are so many problems with the "look and feel" that it's not worth perpetuating.
    Making a lot of assumptions, I've come up with the kind of HTML structure I'd use when marking up this kind of data. I added a page 2 to your example on apex.oracle.com, showing a basic presentation of this structure alongside the original for comparison, and another styled using the default theme L&F.
    <li>Given the requirement to use multi-level headers (and because I prefer to have total control over the HTML), I stayed with a custom report template rather than trying to utilise column breaking with a generic column report template. This also permits use of more advanced table structures than can be supported by standard templates, such as s<tt>colgroup</tt>s to organize the table columns as well as the rows:
    Before Rows
      <table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" #REPORT_ATTRIBUTES# id="report_#REGION_STATIC_ID#">
      #TOP_PAGINATION#
      <tr>
        <td>
          <table class="fish">
            <caption>Some fishy summaries</caption>
            <colgroup span="1"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="evaluation-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="other-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
    After Rows
          </table>
        </td>
      </tr>
      #PAGINATION#
    </table><li>Rather than separate tables, the report is contained in one HTML table, utilizing the <tt>tbody</tt> element to subdivide this into separate row groups to meet the "break on first column" requirement. This is achieved using conditional row templates, with PL/SQL Expressions based on the values of metadata columns added to the query:
    Row Template 1
    Header rows and first data row for each row group. <tt>scope</tt> attributes are added to multi-column headers for improved accessibility:
      <tbody>
        <tr>
          <th colspan="9" scope="rowgroup">#C1#</th>
        </tr>
        <tr>
          <th></th>
          <th colspan="4" scope="colgroup">Evaluation Trips</th>
          <th colspan="4" scope="colgroup">All Other Trips</th>
        </tr>
        <tr>
          <th>#C2#</th>
          <th>#C4#</th>
          <th>#C5#</th>
          <th>#C6#</th>
          <th>#C7#</th>
          <th>#C4#</th>
          <th>#C5#</th>
          <th>#C6#</th>
          <th>#C7#</th>
        </tr>
        <tr class="#ALT#">
          <td class="desc">#C8#</td>
          <td>#C9#</td>
          <td>#C10#</td>
          <td>#C11#</td>
          <td>#C12#</td>
          <td>#C13#</td>
          <td>#C14#</td>
          <td>#C15#</td>
          <td>#C16#</td>
        </tr>
      #CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#
    Row Template 1 Expression
    This template is used when the row metadata shows that the current row is in a different row group from the previous row:
    #ROW_GROUP# != #PREVIOUS_ROW_GROUP#
    Row Template 2
    This is the "default" template, used for any subsequent data rows in the row group:
        <tr class="#ALT#">
          <td class="desc">#C8#</td>
          <td>#C9#</td>
          <td>#C10#</td>
          <td>#C11#</td>
          <td>#C12#</td>
          <td>#C13#</td>
          <td>#C14#</td>
          <td>#C15#</td>
          <td>#C16#</td>
        </tr>
      #CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#Both templates make use of a <tt>#CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#</tt> column value conditionally generated in the query that returns a <tt>&lt;/tbody&gt;</tt> tag if the current row is the last data row in the row group. (Mixing logic and structure in this way is not good practice, but APEX only allows up to 4 conditional row templates, which is completely insufficient for any moderately complex structure.)
    <li>Several metadata columns (incorporating heavy use of analytic functions) are added to the report query for use in the report template or CSS presentation:
    with fish as (
          select
                    c1, c2, c3, c4, c5, c6, c7, c8, c9, c10, c11, c12, c13, c14, c15, c16

    <li>Finally, the visual presentation is applied using CSS rather than (mainly deprecated) HTML attributes, via an embedded style sheet in the page HTML Header:
    <style type="text/css">
    .fish {
      empty-cells: show;
      border-collapse: collapse;
    .fish tbody tr:first-child th {
      border-top: 1px solid #fff;
      font-weight: bold;
    .fish th,
    .fish td {
      padding: 3px 6px;
    .fish th {
      border-bottom: 1px solid #fff;
      border-left: 1px solid #fff;
      background-color: #275096;
      color: #fff;
      font-weight: 300;
      text-align: left;
    .fish td {
      text-align: right;
      .fish tr.\30  td {
        background-color: #dde;
      .fish td:first-child {
        text-align: left;
    </style>The default theme L&F report adds vertical borders to separate columns and column groups (latter may not be fully effective on IE: I'm not wasting my time on quirks mode fixes for that).
    The resulting report uses 60% less vertical space, and 87% less HTML code[1] than the original. Usability and accessibility are improved by eliminating nested tables and useless table cells and shim images, increasing the contrast between text and background colours, and using alternating row backgrounds for better visual tracking.
    [1] Including whitespace, but neither template is compressed in any way: both are in fully readale format including normal whitespace indentation.

  • Custom report template and URL links

    Hello,
    I have been working on this problem for some-time and it's starting to get frustrating. I am trying to 'mimic' the functionality of the 'people search' application and I am working on the hierarchy portion of it (page 3).
    I copied the (3) custom report templates (one for each level of the hierarchy) and I created three queries to go to each.
    My problem is that the links in the report template code keep getting mixed around -- the mgr_id is showing where the mgr_name should be, etc. In the example application the query has about 6 columns, and the template is only showing three (and the order of them in the report attributes doesn't seem to matter. But when I change the column order in my application, the data in the template changes??
    Here is an example query:
    select MGR_NAME, work_role,
    nvl(total_direct,0) Directs, nvl(total_reports,0) Reports
    from hr_orgchart_view
    where
    emp_id = :p3_emp_id
    And the matching report template:
    <tr align="center" valign="top">
    <td align="center"class="instructiontext">
    <b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
    <br><font size=-2>
    #WORK_ROLE#
    </font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">
    Directs: #DIRECTS#   Total: #REPORTS#</font></td></tr>
    Since the column name is being referenced as the link text, column order should not matter right?
    Please shed some light on this situation, as I am holding up development. I am using version 1.6
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Sorry, the code was messed up in previous post:
    Template:
    <tr align="center" valign="top">
    <td align="center"class="instructiontext">
    <b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
    <br><font size=-2>
    #WORK_ROLE#</font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">
    Directs: #DIRECTS#   Total: #REPORTS#</font></td></tr>

    If you see in "managedPropertyMapping" I have added a new property "SEDWMPNewsPublishDate" and when I use in my html I am not getting the value.
    I checked with fiddler and I found that This property is not getting mapped. Json object does return this property.However  this property has value. I have tested with content search webpart nad my code also.it returns value.
    Can anyone let me know is there any issue in the above rendering template code
    On update to this, I was using resultscript webpart on the page to display data and I have created custom result type to modify the display.What I found that when I add the custom properties which I need, on result script webpart  using as
    follows
     scriptWebPart.SelectedPropertiesJson = "[\"SEDWMPNewsPublishDate\",\"SEDWMPIntroduction\"]"
    and save the changes then I start getting the value of my custom properties.
    I don't know how the result type works in accordance with display templates and when does it gets applied on the search data.If anyone is aware please let me know.
    If I can't use the display templates with custom properties then what is the use of ManagedPropertyMapping on display templates.Can anyone please make me understand?

    You need to update the js file also.You can upload the js file also.In js file you have a column "ManagedPropertyMapping" this denotes which managed property should come for item in search.
    For uploading the js file you can use as follows under module
     <File Path="ModSearchDisplayTemplates\x.js" Url="x.js" Type="GhostableInLibrary">
          <Property Name="Title" Value="xjs" />
          <Property Name="MasterPageDescription" Value="$Resources:Microsoft.Office.Server.Search,DisplayTemplateDescription_SearchDefaultItem" />
          <Property Name="ContentType" Value="$Resources:TemplateContentType_Code_Name" />
          <Property Name="DisplayTemplateLevel" Value="Item" />
          <Property Name="TemplateHidden" Value="0" />
          <Property Name="TargetControlType" Value=";#SearchResults;#" />
          <Property Name="HtmlDesignLockedFile" Value="TRUE" />
          <Property Name="ManagedPropertyMapping" Value="'Title':'Title','Path':'Path','Description':'Description','EditorOWSUSER':'EditorOWSUSER','LastModifiedTime':'LastModifiedTime','CollapsingStatus':'CollapsingStatus','DocId':'DocId','FileExtension':'FileExtension','ParentLink':'ParentLink','FileType':'FileType','IsContainer':'IsContainer','SEDWMPNewsPublishDate00':'SEDWMPNewsPublishDate00','SEDWMPIntroduction':'SEDWMPIntroduction','SEDWMPNewsIsSticky':'SEDWMPNewsIsSticky','SEDWMPNewsPostThreadId':'SEDWMPNewsPostThreadId'"/>

    I was asked if we could deploy a Default Custom Layout template for Adobe Profiles .  So that when creating Firm Portfolios they are standardized?  It would be nice if it were defaulted and they didn’t have to choose the Layout.
    Thanks in advance for any info

    Hi Chris,
    Looking through the BPEL client API, I think it might be possible to change the process state via java code. I say might, because the documentation is not that splendid. The IBPELProcessHandle interface has a method updateMetaData which allows you to change the state, among other things. I have not tried this yet so the solution a little theoretical.Sorry for that :-\
    Then, when you have your java class working, you can create an Ant task for it and invoke your Ant task in the build.xml, right after the deployment target.
    Kind regards,
    Harm

  • How to make set up with first call of method of a custom class?

    Hello
    I have build a custom class with a few custom methods.
    Method1 is called per every record of internal table. I need to set up certain parameters tha are the sme for all the calls  (populate the range , to fill the internal table , etc). This should be done only once.
    call method ZBW_CUSTOM_FUNCTIONS=>METHOD1
            exporting
              I = parameter1
            importing
              O = parameter2.
    Loop at ....
       <itab>-record1 = parameter2
    endloop.
    Methods2, 3 , 4 dont need any set up.
    Can somebody tell me how to do it within class?
    Thanks

    Instance methods (as opposed to static methods) are called on an object, which is an instance of a class. Broadly, think of the class as a template for the creation of objects. The objects created from the class take the same form as the class, but have their own state -- their own attribute values. In pseudo-ABAP (this won't even close to compile), let's say you have the following class:
    CLASS cl_class.
         STATICS static_attr TYPE string.
         DATA attr1 TYPE string.
         DATA attr2 TYPE i.
         CLASS-METHOD set_static_attr
              IMPORTING static_attr TYPE string.
              cl_class=>static_attr = static_attr.
         ENDMETHOD.
         METHOD constructor
              IMPORTING attr1 TYPE string
                                 attr2 TYPE i.
              me->attr1 = attr1.
              me->attr2 = attr2.
         ENDMETHOD.
         METHOD get_attr1
              RETURNING attr1 TYPE string.
              attr1 = me->attr1.
         ENDMETHOD.
    ENDCLASS.
    When you create an instance of the class (with CREATE OBJECT oref), the constructor is implicitly called. You can pass parameters to the constructor using: CREATE OBJECT oref EXPORTING attr1 = 'MyString' attr2 = 4.
    You then call methods on the instance you have created. So, oref-&gt;get_attr1( ) would return 'MyString'.
    The constructor is called when the object is created (so, when you call CREATE OBJECT). At this time, the setup is done, and any subsequent methods you call on the object will be able to use the attributes you set up in the constructor. Every object has its own state. If you had another object, oref2, changing its instance attribute values would not affect the values of oref.
    Static methods and attributes are different. A static attribute exists only once for all instances of the class -- they share a single value (within an internal session, I think. I'm not sure of the scope off-hand.) You also call static methods on the class itself, not on instances of it, using a different selector (=&gt; instead of -&gt;). So, if you called cl_class=&gt;set_static_attr( static_attr = 'Static string' ), 'Static string' would be the value of static_attr, which belongs to the class cl_class, and not instances of it. (You can also set up a class constructor, which is called when the class is loaded, but that's another subject.)
    To answer your question more succinctly: no, the constructor is not called before each method. It is only called when you create the object. Any subsequent methods called on the object can then access its attributes.
    Please have a look at [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/48/ad3779b33a11d194f00000e8353423/frameset.htm] for a more thorough treatment of basic object concepts. (The rest of that documentation is very thin, but it'll get you started. Also, it doesn't appear to deal with statics. You'll have to look elsewhere for that.)

  • How to roll back settings applied by a Group Policy Custom Administrative Template

    Hi,
    I have disabled USB port on a number of workstations using a Group Policy Custom Administrative Template. Now I need to enable it again. Is it possible to do it through Group Policy Custom Administrative Template again? If not how can I enable the USB ports?
    TIA

    What I have exactly done is adding a custom administrative template which through it I can disable the removable medias. Sorry for the mistake, I was working on another issue and that made me confused. Anyway I put the content of adm file here to be inspected.

  • How to pass parameter to the custom class based on CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE

    Hello
    I created custom class based on CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE in order to modify web template.
    I would like to pass parameter to this class. How is it possible?
    HUGE thanks!

    Hello ,
              Various methods will be given for the class like CAPTION_CELL CHARACTERISTIC_CELL:
    Position the cursor on the name of the method and click on 'Redefine' , where you will get the parameters used in the method such as I_X, I_COLSPAN, where you can define your logic.
    hope it helps
