Custom Data Transfer in WSRP Interceptor Framework

Hi,
I'm trying to pass custom data (XML data) between the consumer and producer(WLP 10.3) in Interceptor Framework.
This is what I'm trying to do:
public Status.PreInvoke preInvoke(IGetMarkupRequestContext requestContext) {
root = (Element) document.createElement("Test1");
document.appendChild(root);
root.appendChild(document.createTextNode("111"));
xp = new XmlPayload(root);
requestContext.setMarkupRequestState(xp);
What if I want to send another XML data "Test2"? Any pointers will be helpful?
Thanks.

Hello,
The WSRP custom data transfer implementation allows only a single XML root element to be sent as the custom data, but that root custom data element can contain as many child elements as you want. So you could do it something like this:
Element root = (Element)document.createElement("CustomData");
// Add first bit of custom data
Element test1 = (Element) document.createElement("Test1");
root.appendChild(test1);
test1.appendChild(document.createTextNode("111"));
// Add second bit of custom data
Element test2 = (Element) document.createElement("Test2");
root.appendChild(test2);
test2.appendChild(document.createTextNode("222"));
XmlPayload xp = new XmlPayload(root);
requestContext.setMarkupRequestState(xp);Kevin

  • BEA Custom Data Transfer and non-BEA Producer Portals?

    Hello,
    I recently had a problem where my BEA 10 Consumer was not sending my BEA 10 Producer the user's x509 digital certifcate used in authentication. In a non-WSRP environment, the certs come over in the HttpServletRequest object. I was told that for WSRP, BEA strips things out of the request object and the cert was one of those things. The solution was to implement BEA's Custom Data Transfer. I was able to create a solution for our problem using this approach. All is well.
    Now I have run into a problem where one of our other projects is using a non-BEA portal and wants to also be a Producer. Since the Custom Data Transfer is a BEA solution (the Producer portlet class imports BEA classes), how can a non-BEA Producer receive the user's digital certificate since they presumedly can't implement the BEA Custom Data Transfer (unless, I guess, they bring in some BEA library file with those particualr classes).
    Any insight? Thanks - Peter Len

    Peter,
    What producer are you using, some other vendors have implemented BEA's
    custom data transfer. Also, the WSRP committee is looking into
    standardizing this.
    Additionally, you may use an interceptor (9.2 and later) to set HTTP
    headers that the producer may be able to use.

  • Simplestateholder - custom Data transfer

    Hi
    I m trying to pass some values to the producer portlets using the simplestateholder. And I am able to do so by adding the parameters in a SimpleStateHolder obj and placing them to the req attribute MarkupRequestState.KEY in my Interceptor's preInvoke method.
    Also I am able to get those values in the portlets on producer side.
    Problem here is I am able to get the values only once in the producer side portlets. When the same portlet is requested by the consumer the values are not available in the stateholder even though it is placed again in the IGETMarkup interceptor's preinvoke method.
    Any idea why I am not get the values when the portlet is requested for the 2nd time.,
    thanks in advance

  • WSRP - Pass Custom Data between Consumer and Producer

    Hello All,
    I am having a couple of queries with respect to Custom Data Transfer. Consider I have a Map of values which I need to transfer between both Consumer and Producer.
    For eg: the map that Consumer sends would contain "firstName", "lastName", etc... On the other hand Producer needs to do some business function based on the data and add more values to the map like "rewardPoint" etc....
    On Consumer Side:
    I have choice to use Backing File or IGetMarkupInterceptor to implement the preInvoke to pass the data using SimpleStateHolder.
    Question: I am not able to send a simple Serializable POJO Object... I can only send primitive / default java objects like Strings, Maps of String etc. Is my understanding correct?
    On Producer side:
    I am able to receive the Custom Data from request. No problems. Now how to send more data from Producer to consumer. I need to add the "rewardPoints" into the map and send back.
    My understanding is that if the Producer puts any values into StateHolder objects, Consumer will receive it in IGetMarkupResponseContext object in the Interceptor's postInvoke method.
    Question: How do I get a handle to the IGetMarkupResponseContext object @ Producer end???
    Question: Do I need to write some interceptors on Producer end? If so which file I need to use?
    Any help / pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Paz

    Hi All,
    I tried to set the data in the producer using the following command
    SimpleStateHolder stateSimpleOuterReq = (SimpleStateHolder)request.getAttribute(MarkupRequestState.KEY);;
              if (stateSimpleOuterReq == null) {
                   SimpleStateHolder state = new SimpleStateHolder();
                   state.addParameter("name", "data1");
                   request.setAttribute(MarkupResponseState.KEY, state);
    I am not able to retrieve the same in consumer.
    The above is a WSRP struts request.
    I also tried setting the data by unwrapping the request in producer and still value is null in consumer :-(
              HttpServletRequest requestq = (HttpServletRequest)((HttpServletRequestWrapper) request).getRequest();
              SimpleStateHolder stateSimpleReq1 = (SimpleStateHolder)requestq.getAttribute(MarkupRequestState.KEY);
                   if (stateSimpleReq1 == null) {
                        SimpleStateHolder state = new SimpleStateHolder();
    state.addParameter("name", "data1");
                        requestq.setAttribute(MarkupRequestState.KEY, state);
    Please help me in resolving the issue. Correct me if i am doing anything wrong.
    Thanks

  • Transfer customizing data between SAP System

    Hi to all!
    How I can transfer PS customizing data between R/3 4.5B and R/3 4.7?
    Thanks,
    Gianluca

    Hi,
    Can I suggest a slightly more robust approach?  What Andreas is suggesting, is that in fact you should be able to transfer the customising data by doing a standard transport.  You can create a transport in your 4.5B system and then it can be physically copied (at the operating system level, for example FTP) to your 4.7 system and then imported.
    I think that this is probably the right way to go, but you may have some troubles if the PS system has some changes in 4.7 (as the destination config tables may have different structures to the source tables).
    The change I suggest from Andreas is start by using the IMG to generate the transport.  If you go to every area of customising that you wish to transfer to the 4.7 system and make a change (save to a change request) then change it back and save, you will make sure that you have every table required to be transferred in your change request.  You can then edit the change request (in SE09) and change the keys (by putting an *, rather than the specific data) to ensure you get all the data.
    I just feel that given the complexity of configuration tables (and the sheer number of them) it would flow smoother if generated the initial list via the IMG, rather than trying to figure them all out yourself.
    After the change request has all the correct entries you will need to release it (to ensure that the object in Unix has all the data from the SAP system).  You can then FTP it to the 4.7 system and do an import of the change request (and cross your fingers that you don't get import errors due to config tables changing in 4.7).
    Hope that helps,
    Brad

  • How to Transfer Customizing Data from SAP ECC6 to SAP Solution Manager

    Hi all,
        I want to Transfer Customizing Data (such as organization structure) from SAP ECC6 to SAP Solution Manager.Please tell me how. Thanks.

    Hi,
    The system cannot capture the customizing data from your ECC6. This is another myth with SAP Solution Manager. Solution Manager can only smoothen the process of your Project Management.
    Hope this solves your problem.
    Feel free to revert back.

  • Data Transfer / Communication between Live Applications

    Gurus,
    I am basically an E-Business Sutie Developer. This is my first experience posting questions in Application and Architecture community.
    Please read the following and let me know if this is the correct thread to post this question also it would be appreciable if you could provide suggestions / solutions for my question.
    Q:
    We are on E-Bus Suite 11.5.9 with custom applications built using Oracle Forms. Recently one of our department decided to buy a custom software to replace one of the application. There are other applications which we built still running in E-Bus Suite. The custom software is based on .NET and SQL Server. We at IT rite now researching how to data transfer between our existing applications and the new software. They both were in different platforms.
    This is a new initiative for us because all these years we use to work on oracle applications and this is the first time where we have to go away from our forte. This could be simple for people with experience in related field but this is challenging for us.
    Your views and suggestions are highly valuable.
    Thank You.
    Karthik.

    Hi,
    Thank You for the reply. Below are the notes from person who already did some of the research. I am not sure whether to go with the below mentioned or to research more...
    Below are the following options to load data from SQL server to Oracle, I read limited on each option. See if something convince you and I will explore more on that option..
    1.     Linked Servers: Linked Servers can be setup on the SQL server instance and then data can be pushed out to the Oracle schema.
    a. Limitation in terms of data type supported by provider/ODBC driver used for creating
    linked servers, Performance good for decent size tables
    b. Advantage: All SLQ based
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188279.aspx
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/35943/How-to-Config-Linked-Servers-in-a-Minute
    2.     Oracle Hetereogeneous services: This is Oracle’s answer to Microsoft’s linked servers. By setting it up,
    this can be used to pull data from SQL server db and load to Oracle.
    Same limitations and advantages as 1.
    http://www.csee.umbc.edu/portal/help/oracle8/server.815/a67784/hs_ch6.htm
    3.     DTS (Data Trnasformation Services) or SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) : Microsoft SQL server 2000 comes
    with DTS and SQL 2005 with SSIS.
    SSIS is robust than DTS for this job and can be used to load data up in the Oracle Schema.
    These tools can be used to provide a real ETL process for data loading.
    4.     Scripting Framework: Scripts can be written to bcp data from a SQL servere db and then use SQL Loader to
    load data to oracle schema
    5.     Third Party tools: A couple of third party tools also provide these options.

    Hi,
    I have made a custom JSP iview using the ISR framework .
    The form can be submitted and a notification is created.
    The Workflow is generating the workitem wihich appears in the

    Helpful answers will be rewarded.

    Hi Phil,
       Interesting - I have a similar issue.  We want to use the Request for Transfer scenario in ERP 2005, but it has not been developed in Adobe forms by SAP yet (it isn't available in 2004 either)!  So, we have decided to use the old JSP PCRs instead.
    Your issue is probably because you're using the same 2005 iviews to create your PCRs.  The 2005 PCR iviews are written in WebDynpro, and appear to assume that each one will be an Adobe form!  If you assign the old PCR iviews to your manager (give them the old MSS role under Migrated Content->EP5.0... in the pcd if you have it installed), you will be able to create a PCR with the JSP forms (regardless of the "Entry in Web" setting in QISRSCENARIO).
    The next issue is the approval.  In 2005, transaction SWFVISU has task TS50000075 configured as Java Webdynpro.  You'll need to change that to iView, and specify ID = com.sap.pct.hcm.isrdispatcher.default.  I'm following the UWL item type guide for this at:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b1/cc1357eead454bb144face4a66be7d/content.htm
    Having said this, my approval is not working!  The item type has clearly changed, because the workitem name is no longer a hyperlink (rather annoying), but when I hit the "Launch Task Page" button (default name I think) I get the error:
    "Unable to perform action because the system returned an invalid URL"
    I can't see this "invalid url" anywhere in the logs, so I can't see where it is getting it from, or what path, etc I'm meant to put!  In your old system, what did you have as the "Server for ISR call" under "Additional Data for Scenario" in QISRSCENARIO?  Also, what did you have in the "URL" box that appears under the Additional Data for Scenario button when you change the Entry Type to JSP?
    Many thanks,
    Russell.

  • Customized R12 Standard Purchase Order report with custom data and layout

    Hi all,
    We need to customize the seeded Purchase Order report in R12 to add an additional section to include cost data coming from our custom table. The key is that our customized report should be launched instead of the seeded report via various PO forms (e.g. View Document menu option, PO Communications form to email, fax and print PO, etc).
    I manually set up a custom Document Type Layout for the Document "Standard Purchase Order" to use my customized template so my custom layout is shown instead of the R12 layout, but according to Oracle support the report can only draw data from a set of seeded Oracle views like po_headers_xml,po_lines_xml etc.
    Any suggestions how we can add our custom data to PO report in R12?
    Thanks! Mike.

    Hi Mike
    thats a tough one, the PO generation is a bit restrictive to say the least when it comes to customizing. It sounds like you have worked out how to get your own template in there to render the PO.
    On the data front, all I can think of is to customize and replace the seeded PO view with one that incorporates your extra data.
    Or, get into the page customization world and write your own extract and format concurrent program/procedure and then hook it onto the buttons where you want to launch it.
    You might have more luch, response wise from the EBS PO forum.

  • Data transfer b/w SAP to Java using IDOC and Interface SAP Jco

    Dear Experts,
    The challenging requirement we are having is, we need to create the interface for data transfer between SAP system and the Java system. The data will be transferred from SAP to java and similarly once some processing done in Java again the details needs to be transferred from Java to SAP.
    For this data transferred we are planning to use IDOC process and for interface "SAP Java connector (Version 3.0.5)" we are planning to use. As per our understanding, from Java side one program needs to be written to connect with SAP as "Registered program". This registered program will appear in SAP GATEWAY automatically and using tRFC, TCP/IP connection both SAP and Java system will be connected.
    In this case we are having some doubts.
    1. The data from SAP is going to be transfered from one Custom transaction (Z tcode). Once "Outbound IDOC" will get triggered and will carry the details. Now the doubt is, whether the data / details will get transfered to JAVA system automatically or we need to perform any other steps from SAP ABAP coding...(like converting in to flat file, XML file and etc) ??
    2. We are planning to install "SAP Jco" in Java server. Is this correct...??
    3. Other than SAP Jco any other softwares needs to be installed or not..??
    4. Since we are going to trigger the "outbound IDOC" from custom transaction, we are planning to develope one program in SE37. Other than this any other program we need to develop or not..??
    5. Any sample Java program for the SAP Jco version 3.0.5 to create the "Registered program" with SAP..? (e.g. SAP Listener program).?
    If anybody has detailed steps or explanation please share it with us.
    Thanks in advance
    Warm Regards,
    VEL

    Hi All,
      For the above mentioned issue, we implemented JCo software in JAVA system and created the JAVA program including SAP logon credential details like Client, User name, password and Language details.
    When this JAVA program was compiled successfully then, that non SAP system will appear in SAP gateway Tcode.
    Once non SAP system started appearing in SAP gateway that means, both SAP & Non SAP are connected automatically.

  • Customer Dates in Activity

    We have added some custom dates to our date profile for activities. We woulod like to transfer these dates to BW.
    Is there an easy way to do this, or do I need to enhance the datasource etc.?
    Does anybody have a list of the steps I will need to go through?
    I think:
    1. Enhance datasource, with new extract structure, selection and mapping modules.
    2. Replicate new datasource to BW.
    3. Create new ODS object containing new fields and update transfer rules accordingly.

    Stuart,
    We're facing the same problem. How did you extracted custom dates into BW? (if you did!). I've added a couple of custom dates using the date management functionality in CRM, but I´m not able to transfer those values to BW.
    If you have any info or clue, please let me know. Thanks!

  • Data Transfer

    I'm developing an application for a customer who requires data to be transferred between what they have termed a Level 3 Database Server and a Level 2 Database Server. Prior to the start of a production run they require that the data entered in a table on Level 3 is transferred to an identical table on Level 2. I have accomplished this using a database link defined on Level 2. I then developed PL/SQL Cursor to read out the data from the Level 3 table and insert into the corresponding Level 2 table. This action must be initiated by an operator it cannot be automatic. Although this is a non business critical application I'm not happy with this solution because how does the Level 2 system know the data is ready for transfer and that the data is current and how does the Level 3 system know the data transferred without error? I'd like to include some kind of transfer structure and I can think of is adding a table on the Level 3 server which defines a command word for the data transfer function. When the data is ready to be transferred Level 3 sets this word to 1. Level 2 is now able to initiate the transfer and when it's done so and run a basic table comparison. If the comparison is successful it resets it to 0 or, if it fails to -1. I have two questions I'd be grateful if someone would consider.
    1. Am I reinventing the wheel? Does Oracle9i come with an inbuilt feature which makes what I'm trying to do easy?
    2. How to compare two tables for differences.
    Thanks in advance, my job would be a lot harder without you guys.

    Hi - you might want to consider the following.
    Try to load the data onto a staging area.
    In the staging area the tables might have extra fields.
    Use sqlldr to load with option for error logging.
    You've to have the total records for each table from the orginal target and compare with the total loaded on the destination (staging).
    For comparing the tables - yes - you need to compare each and every field.
    Select ....
    FROM table_a a, table_b b
    WHERE ...
    Or use TOAD for Oracle - if there's not too many records. (Manually check...)
    They all can be automated, provided all the checks (your requirements) are flagged OK (or NOT OK== 'do not proceed').
    Use a Control Table with fields as follows -
    SL_NO, TABLE_NAME_PROCESS, TOTAL_ORG_COUNT, TOTAL_LOAD_COUNT, TABLE_COMPARE_SUCCESS
    1 PROD_CUSTOMERS 100000 100000 Y
    The values in the above table (except SL_NO, table_name_process) are got programtically.
    So you basically update the values, and before each step you check if they are ok...
    So if you have now loaded the table and updated the load_count, before you try to compare check if the load is completed sucessfully, else no use proceeding...like wise after table value compare...
    Cheers.
    Lovell.

  • What happened to custom dates in iCal?

    Custom dates never made it to iPhone and iPad but it now seems to be changed in iCal. I used to be able to select "the first Tuesday of the month...(etc.)". Now I can only put in "Every 4 weeks". Not what I want. How hard is that to make it work? It used to work.

    Make sure that your custom ringtones are NOT in your Music Library. They will not transfer or work if they are.
    The should only be in the RingTones Folder.

    Case 1). Distribute data of infotypes 0000,0001,0002,0006,0022,0023,,0024,1000 and 1001 into ER(E-recruiting) from my HCM (ECC) system. This i have achieved using message type HRMD_A and setting up ALE as per standard guidelines.
    Case 2) i have to transfer Candidate data which gets created in E-recruitment server back into HCM(ECC) server(reverse of case 1) and stored them in infotypes 0000,0001,0002,0006,0022,0023 and 0024. How this can be achieved ??
      is there any standard way i mean IMG configuration or ALE setup to transfer this data back into HCM (ESS)  server?? or any BAdis or BAPIss??
        kindly suggest me some solution if anyone  of you have encountered the same situation in past. The final solution i m thinking is of creating custom basic IDOC type, message type and custom programs  for inbound and outbound processing but before  doing this i just  wan to have a confirmation that there is no standard way of doing this...
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi.
         There is a standard  activity in e-Recruiting  "Data Transfer for New Employee"  which transfer the Candidate data from e-Recruiting to HCM system in temprary table T752F. when  you hire this candidate from PA48 all transfer data will get stored in respective Infotype of SAP HCM system..
    Thanks,
    Madhu
