Custom Edit Forms missing Outcome Buttons

I've created a Content Type "MyTaskContactType" which inherits from Workflow Task (SharePoint 2013) which inherits from Task.
I've added an Outcome Choice with a value of "Completed" on "MyTaskContentType".  It shows when I create a Task in workflow using it.
The list it uses is "Workflow Tasks".  If I use the default  Editform.aspx it shows a button called "Completed" when the assigned task is edited.
I really only need the description Column to display, along with the button "Completed", however.
So I created a custom Edit form "MyCustomEditForm" using the "New" forms in designer.  I selected Edit as type and the content type I created ("MyTaskContactType").
The problem is no matter what I try, the "Completed" button will not display on "MyCustomEditFrom".  In addition I don't know how to get rid of the irrelevant "Save" button.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Tom

  • Custom edit forms for XMLForms

    Using XML Forms in EP 6.0 SP9, I've created a default edit form and another custom edit form. The idea is that users will only see the default edit form, while content administrators will be able to see the more detailed custom edit form.
    I've noticed that the XMLForms project has a property for the default edit form, i.e. you can change this while designing your project in XMLForms Builder. Is there any way of changing this property when someone clicks on the 'Save' button on the default edit form?
    Thanks,
    Danie.

    Hi ivicapro,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a custom New/Edit form for each content type from an announcement list with mulitple content types.
    You can do it via SharePoint Designer 2013. Firstly, open your site with SharePoint Designer, then go to the list, and click “New…” in
    Form section. And when you create a custom form, you can select the type of the form and the content type. If you want to use the custom form as default form for the content type, you can select “Set as default form for the selected type”.
    There is a screenshot for your reference:

    so from the above  markup  the name field is not part of the edit form,, i think this is because the Name is part of the Document content type and not part of the enterprisewiki content type .. so is there a way to add the name field to the edit
    form ?.
    second question, the edit form will show all the content type fields such as ; standard, document type, department , title (display in search), etc   so what is the best way to remove these fields from the custom edit form ?

    Hello John,
    This can only be done by adding VBScript to the form. It would basically be:
    Sub Item_Open()
    Item.GetInspector.SetCurrentFormPage "P.2"
    End Sub
    ... where "P.2" would be what you named the page you want to display first.

  • Fillable form missing submit button?

    I created a fillable form in Acrobat Pro 9 which  is to be used for data collection on a website, and emailed once completed.  When viewed in a PC based browser, the actual fields are obvious, and the "submit" button is in the upper right corner of the form/page.  When the exact same form is viewed in a mac based browser, the "submit" button is missing, and there is no obvious way to send the form.
    HELP!

    This is most likely because Reader/Acrobat is not being used to open the PDF. Certain browsers now have built-in PDF viewers or the document may open in Preview on the Mac. Some of these non-Adobe PDF viewers have incomplete support for forms or none at all.

  • Custom Web Auth - Missing "Submit" Button

    I have scoured every topic I can get my hands on here at NetPro regarding custom web authentication. I am currently supporting a customer that MUST use a custom web page for two reasons:
    1. Cosmetically, and rightfully so, they would like to use their own logo. Well, why not just upload the custom image, you say? See point 2...
    2. Their custom AUP is beyond the allowed 2047 characters in the default template.
    So I used the default internal template for a test login, and viewed the source to grab the HTML code. I know how to read HTML, so I began commenting out the sidebar, text, and headers that I didn't want. I then inserted the custom logo and AUP text. Visually, the page is fine. However, when I preview the page, the "Submit" button is completely missing. This is true both locally, as well as when it is uploaded to the controller. I also uploaded from the controller the 'loginscript.js' file by selecting file type 'configuration' and inputting the name 'loginscript.js'. I am including that information as well because I know other people have posted asking how to get that, and I haven't seen anyone respond with such instructions. I figured it out on my own after trial and error. If it can be obtained via WCS, it would be nice if someone would post that (other than the same method I used, simply using WCS as the management tool instead of direct controller access). My controller is running code 4.1.185.0, same as my customer's controller. I modified the reference for the javascript source from src="./loginscript.js" to simply src="loginscript.js" because I am putting the script and the login.html file in the same directory. If there is a different directory structure required, I haven't found any documentation saying so other than another NetPro post indicating "Web Authentication_files" folder (whatever that means)? I also noticed that some folks are saying that such a page would have to be run on an External server. If so, why?
    Regards,
    Scott

    Web authentication files are stored in Web Authentication_files directory which controllers can recognize. . If you want to use a different directory it is used on External Web server so that there is no conflct in the storage location.

  • Clicking on LinkTitle in list opens allitems instead of custom application form

    Hello, This question is pertaining to SharePoint 2010.
    I have one list which has two content types. We have modified the detault forms (new,edit and display) of each content type to its individual custom application pages. We have done this through coding.
    SPContentType CT1= requestsList.ContentTypes["CT1"];
    //Change Edit and edit URL to custom application page
    CT1.NewFormUrl = "_layouts/folder/customnewapplicationpage.aspx;
    CT1.EditFormUrl = "_layouts/folder/customeditapplicationpage.aspx;
    CT1.DisplayFormUrl = "_layouts/folder/customdisplayapplicationpage.aspx;
    //Delete the default from to enable custom application pages.
    CT1.XmlDocuments.Delete("http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/v3/contenttype/forms/url");
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
    CT1.Update();
    list.Update();
    And same update for the other content type. Everything works well.
    When we click on new, custom new form opens, when we click on edit, custom edit form opens, when we click on view item, custom view form opens for respective content type. The problem is when we click on linktitle field value in allitems.aspx, it opens up
    allitems.aspx page instead of opening display form as model dialog which is does when we click on view item by either selecting in ECB menu or from ribbon.
    On custom application pages, I am using SharePoint:SaveButton to save values so that I do not need to write down the code.
    I just tested one thing that, if we have our custom button and if we write traditional way to inserting list item into the list with specifying ContentTypeId in list item, then this problem does not appear. This is when SharePoint:SaveButton is clicked and
    item is saved, at this time problem appears. I prefer going with SharePoint:SaveButton as I have more than 70 fields on the form and do not want to write a code to set values for 70 fields by doing SPList.AddItem()
    According to me, SharePoint:SaveButton is saving list item inside folder because when we update the view and set to show items without folder, I cannot see list items saved using SharePoint:SaveButton click. But when i switch back to show items with
    folder, all items appear. This may be the reason when I click on LinkTitle directly on that hyperlink, it opens up AllItems.aspx with FolderCTId={} as one of the query string.
    Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    We can do as follows:
    1. Change the URL of Title field to the URL of custom application page using JavaScript.
    2. Create a calculated column and set formula: ="<a href='"&UrlFieldName&"'>"&Title&"</a>", then we can use it as a “Title” column.

    3. If you want to customize list form and use  SharePoint:SaveButton control to save the data, the following articles for your reference:

  • Pass Values to Edit Form thru Query String and Save in List

    I have developed a custom Edit form from SharePoint Designer and I am passing values thru Query String as below;
    http://<>/cli/acc/Lists/GIInfo/testEdit.aspx?ID=262&com=POD_Send
    And, user supposed to save the form directly without changing the values came thru Query String as below.
    Now, issue is, when user saves the form, values is not getting saved. It saves when we change the value in text box or when we do a text change event in form. Becasue data binding says Text Change even in data binding property.
    __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('u',concat('ff22',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Actions')}"/>
    Kindly guide me what is the issue, or correct approach to do that? I want to pass values to Edit Form thru Query string and save in List without changing those.

    I know this is late, but i found a very good solution on this post and credit goes to the author.

    The issue was resolved by changing the textbox values,
    <asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff1{$Pos}" Name="Title" Text="" Value="{$Destination}"  __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff1',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Title')}">

    <asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff1{$Pos}" Name="Title" Text="{$Destination}"  __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff1',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Title')}">

  • Custom edit page for content type

    Hello,
    I have following problem:
    when i try to open  my custom Edit Form for content type I have next error
    System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.    at Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement.Pages.EditVideoSet.AddListFormWebPart()     at Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement.Pages.EditVideoSet.OnInit(EventArgs

    I think problem is in custom page
    that almost the same as "EditVideoSet.aspx" but have code behind
    <%@ Page Language="C#" DynamicMasterPageFile="~masterurl/default.master" Inherits="Intergation.Layouts.Intergation.ApplicationPage2Edit"   CodeBehind="ApplicationPage2Edit.aspx.cs"       %>
    public partial class ApplicationPage2Edit : EditVideoSet
    My task - create copy of the already existing edit page, but with code behind possibility.
    What I did wrong?

    Hi
    Thanks.
    I got rid of my earlier error as I was using the conatinerRenderer tag in the wrong way. It should have been
    &lt;containerRenderer class="com.tsynergy.container.SynergyLatestIDDBDrugsContainer"/&gt;
    Now I get to display the my edit content; But I still haven't been able to get rid of the top default portal banner that appears on my edit page. It has the default logo gif and the link to the home page.
    I can now put my own form and &lt;input&gt; types, Just need to get rid of the default banner now.

  • Post Migration from SP2010 -Attach File Button not working in any list new/edit forms

    Hi,
    We have migrated the SharePoint 2010 farm to Sharepoint 2013 on last saturday and we are noticing an interesting issue after the migration .
    On any custom list on any web application ,When we create a new item,if we click on attach file button in the ribbon,nothing shows up on the screen.
    In the browser Dev Tools its showing an error message as "Cannot read Property style of null".
    This is happening on a javascript (form.debug.js) on line No : 5276
    (document.getElementById("partAttachment")).style.display = "block";
    There is no element rendered in html with id "partAttachment",which is causing this error to happen.
    Solutions tried are
    1) Modified the List Advanced Settings to disable and enable the attachments ,which did not work
    2) Ran the Sharepoint Configuration wizard which did not fix
    3)Tried reset the site definition for all pages in the site from site settings
    4) Deactivated and activated all the activated features in the site collection
    Its an OOB List New Form,no customizations has been done.
    Similar error occurring with List Edit form as well
     when you click on the List Item in the List default view when you navigate to the list and when you click on attach file,a popup dialog to upload attachments appearing,However its not working when you
    navigate into the list item and tried to upload attachment.
    Please help if any Solutions / thoughts

  • Edit Form in Document Library missing data

    When I try to create a new Edit Form for a Document Library in SP Designer 2013 the new form is missing the Name field.  The people picker field doesn't do lookups anymore either.  Like the Java is broke.
    When I tried to do the same thing on a Drop Off Library for content management same thing as above plus documents stopped submitting.
    Anyone know how to do this?  Am I missing something?
    David Jenkins

    Hi,
    I understand the frustration you are having when using SharePoint Designer 2013 to create custom forms for SharePoint Library.
    Since there seems no direct way in SharePoint Designer 2013 to create custom forms in a smooth way as expected, an effective way I would suggest is that you can submit a feedback in the Office Developer Platform, it is a place for customers provide feedback
    about Microsoft Office products. What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it is promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
    http://officespdev.uservoice.com/
    As a workaround, if solution with custom code is accepted in your scenario, I suggest you create a totally new page(not form page) for this library use only. We can use the common web developing technology to design the style, there are also rich exposed
    APIs can be called for the data accessing(such as uploading file, updating item). It would be more flexible to create custom solution in this way comparing to the limited functionalities provided in SharePoint Designer 2013.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Replace Default "New" / "Edit" Forms for Custom List

    Having created a web page that is just simple HTML with JScript to bring it "to life" in SharePoint designer, how can I cause SharePoint 2010 to present this page for the "New" action? Or for the "Edit" action?
    This page is not associated with the Master Page/Content paradigm.  It is at WebSite/Lists/TheTargetList/TheTargetForm.aspx
    When I show the list properties tab for this list in Designer, and go to the "Forms" section (subtitled "Forms are used to display and edit data contained within this list"), and click the "New..." button at the right of
    that section's title bar and fill in the Title with the title of my file, I cannot add the file.  (The bread crumbs at the top say "Site > Lists and Libraries > ListName > ")
    Alternately, I go to the bottom of the tab's page, and select the link "Item" under Content Types (the choices being "Item" and "Folder").
    Then the bread crumbs say "Site > Lists and Libraries > ListName > Content Types > Item >"
    In the "Forms" section, I try to put the fully qualified name of the page I have created (my ..aspx file) in the "New Form:" or "Edit Form:" areas, after having clicked the "<click to enter text>" links.
    This lets me save that change, but destroys the web site's ability to show anything when I try to go to New or Edit — essentially "File not found."  The same if I provide only the file name,
    not fully qualified.
    So, if I have "Site/Lists/List/XYZ.aspx," and if that file is like:
    <html>
    <head>
    <script> . . . </script>
    </head>
    <body> . . . <br /> . . . </body>
    </html>
    How can I get this file to be opened as the "New" or "Edit" form for the list?

    Hi  BrianWren ,
    According to your  description, my understanding is that you want to present a web page as the New Form page.
    For achieving your demand, you need to create custom form using Visual Studio instead of SharePoint Designer.
    Here is a good blog you can have a look:
    http://blog.karstein-consulting.com/2010/12/29/walkthrough-create-custom-sharepoint-2010-list-form-for-deployment-in-a-visual-studio-2010-project/

  • Create custom Edit button for list on SharePoint 2013 page

    Hi
    I have a custom list which holds contact information such as name, telephone, address.  I am displaying the custom list webpart with using a custom view on the site home page which only shows name and telephone.  It should only
    have 1 item so 'New Item' is not needed.  However I still need to be able to edit the item.  If I click 'Edit' on the list view on the home page, it will open a quick edit box only showing name and telephone.
    How can I create a custom button on the home page that will open the custom list item form instead?  Therefore all columns will be editable and I can remove the "New and Edit" toolbar from the webpart.
    Marc Collins www.QGate.co.uk

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to open the custom list item form.
    Per my knowledge, there is out of box method to achieve it.
    After you insert the web part to a page, you need to edit the web part and change List Views as below, then it will remove the "New and Edit" toolbar from the webpart.
    In the page, if you click the web part , the ribbon will appear. After you select the item and click Edit Item, the edit form with all fields will be displayed.
