Replace Default "New" / "Edit" Forms for Custom List
Having created a web page that is just simple HTML with JScript to bring it "to life" in SharePoint designer, how can I cause SharePoint 2010 to present this page for the "New" action? Or for the "Edit" action?
This page is not associated with the Master Page/Content paradigm. It is at WebSite/Lists/TheTargetList/TheTargetForm.aspx
When I show the list properties tab for this list in Designer, and go to the "Forms" section (subtitled "Forms are used to display and edit data contained within this list"), and click the "New..." button at the right of
that section's title bar and fill in the Title with the title of my file, I cannot add the file. (The bread crumbs at the top say "Site > Lists and Libraries > ListName > ")
Alternately, I go to the bottom of the tab's page, and select the link "Item" under Content Types (the choices being "Item" and "Folder").
Then the bread crumbs say "Site > Lists and Libraries > ListName > Content Types > Item >"
In the "Forms" section, I try to put the fully qualified name of the page I have created (my ..aspx file) in the "New Form:" or "Edit Form:" areas, after having clicked the "<click to enter text>" links.
This lets me save that change, but destroys the web site's ability to show anything when I try to go to New or Edit — essentially "File not found." The same if I provide only the file name,
not fully qualified.
So, if I have "Site/Lists/List/XYZ.aspx," and if that file is like:
<html>
<head>
<script> . . . </script>
</head>
<body> . . . <br /> . . . </body>
</html>
How can I get this file to be opened as the "New" or "Edit" form for the list?
Hi BrianWren ,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to present a web page as the New Form page.
For achieving your demand, you need to create custom form using Visual Studio instead of SharePoint Designer.
Here is a good blog you can have a look:

Can i set site page as New/ Edit form of SharePoint list?
Hello All,
Can i set site page as New/ Edit form of SharePoint list. I know this can be done if i create Application page, but can i set site page as SharePoint list form. If yes, then how?
Also in any case is it possible to set New/Edit form of already created SharePoint list?
Please Help. Thank you.You can set infopath form on a page
http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/sharepoint-server-help/convert-an-infopath-form-to-a-web-page-HA010215035.aspx
Try
http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/70287/display-new-form-of-a-list-in-a-web-part-page
So it turns out that SharePoint Designer is the only way to accomplish this. You have to go into the page in Designer, edit the page, and select the Insert tab from the ribbon -> New Item Form -> select "CUSTOM LIST FORM..." (not one of the pre-populated
lists or you will get the barebones default content type!) -> Choose the list for the form you want to show and the content type, click OK -> Save the page in SP Designer and it will now show on the page embedded as a form. Success!

Custom edit forms for XMLForms
Using XML Forms in EP 6.0 SP9, I've created a default edit form and another custom edit form. The idea is that users will only see the default edit form, while content administrators will be able to see the more detailed custom edit form.
I've noticed that the XMLForms project has a property for the default edit form, i.e. you can change this while designing your project in XMLForms Builder. Is there any way of changing this property when someone clicks on the 'Save' button on the default edit form?
Thanks,
Danie.Hi ivicapro,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a custom New/Edit form for each content type from an announcement list with mulitple content types.
You can do it via SharePoint Designer 2013. Firstly, open your site with SharePoint Designer, then go to the list, and click “New…” in
Form section. And when you create a custom form, you can select the type of the form and the content type. If you want to use the custom form as default form for the content type, you can select “Set as default form for the selected type”.
There is a screenshot for your reference:

Error with Provider Hosted App on Edit Form of a list item
We have an error on the Edit Form of one of our pages.
We have developed a SharePoint Online Provider Hosted app which replaces the standard edit form of a list item and has some further events behind the save button. Since this is rather new territory for us, we're using a roundabout way of achieving this by
using a script editor web part to display an iFrame of our app. That way we can pass the Url through to our app and retrieve query strings from them.
Our issue comes quite intermittently in that we sometimes get a "web page cannot be found" error or sometimes a "resource cannot be found" error, however, when we load another app on the site (from the same app project, but using an app
part), then go back to the Edit Form, the information in the iFrame suddenly renders.
Any ideas on what might be causing this issue at all? Ideally, we should be rendering the app to the Edit Form is the proper manner, rather than scripting an iFrame that points to out app in Azure. Would this be the cause of the problem?
Thanks
TomHi thumper, if you have access to InfoPath, you can add the form to a page using the InfoPath web part. Otherwise, use SP Designer with instructions below:

Custom New/Edit Forms not mobile supported
Hi All - I have created custom New/Edit Form in SPD. When I am trying to browse these in mobile view - It is giving error: The following error is not mobile supported: /lists/<listname>/<customnewform.aspx>
In PC view it opens the same URL properly with no issues.
Also,
In mobile view - When click on New Item opens Default OOTB New/Edit Forms and not the custom forms.
In PC View - Since I set CustomNew/EditForm as default. Click on New Item opens Custom forms.
How can I set the default - my custom form for mobile view?
Please suggest.
Regards,
Khushi
KhushiHi Khushi,
SharePoint will detect the device you are using to access SharePoint site and determine the view it displays. By default, you are using mobile view in a mobile device.
On mobile device, please go to site settings > switch to PC views, see if custom list view works.
If it works, we could disable mobile view by executing command :
disable-spfeature -identity MobilityRedirect -url
http://sp/sites/sitename
More options to deactivate mobile view:
http://academy.bindtuning.com/deactivate-sharepoint-2013-mobile-view/
Please also refer to how to customize mobile list view and form pages:

so from the above markup the name field is not part of the edit form,, i think this is because the Name is part of the Document content type and not part of the enterprisewiki content type .. so is there a way to add the name field to the edit
form ?.
second question, the edit form will show all the content type fields such as ; standard, document type, department , title (display in search), etc so what is the best way to remove these fields from the custom edit form ?Hello John,
This can only be done by adding VBScript to the form. It would basically be:
Sub Item_Open()
Item.GetInspector.SetCurrentFormPage "P.2"
End Sub
... where "P.2" would be what you named the page you want to display first. -

How-to synchronize edit forms for a single View Object tree node entrie
Hi all,
I created a tree from a single View Object,
follow this [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/32-tree-table-from-single-vo-169174.pdf]
then i want to create and synchronize edit forms for tree node entries,
follow this [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/50-synchromize-form-treeselection-169192.pdf]
but it not working when i click child node!!
i found the latter tree from many View Object ,but the former tree from single View Object.
what should i do?
Thanks in advanceHi,
say the tree is built from ViewObject1. In the AM model, create a second View Object instance for this. Say ViewObject2. Create the form from ViewObject2 and the tree from ViewObject1. When creating the tree, use the"Target Data Source" option at the bottom to reference the iterator of ViewObject2. Then create a PartialTrigger on the paneFormLayout that holds the synch form. In the partial trigger property, reference the tree so that when the tree selection changes, the form is updated. Then create a PartialTrigger property on the tree and point it to the submit button of the form so you can show updated values in the tree.

Is there any standard report available for Customer listing which display customer details.
Points will be rewarded..
Regards
HappyHey Happy,
I think there is no standard report functionality to get the list of the customer but you can get that in this way,
Go to SE16 transaction enter the table KNVV then execute system will give the all customer which are maintaining sales area data.
Take the table KNA1 to get the general data customers list
Take the table KNB1 to the company code data customers list
I hope it will help you

Smart form for cutting list---Urgent
Hi Experts,
I have to create a smart form for cutting list in PP module.
Selection criteria are:
1.) select all orders(AFKO-AUFNR) wiht AFVU-USR00 = 'CUT' where AFVU-AUFPL = AFKO-AUFPL
2.) Group according to material no.(AFKO-PLNBEZ)
Form fields are as follows:
Name : MARC-MATGR
Cut & Process date: AFVV-FSAVD where AFVV-AUFPL=AFKO0AUFPL
Ref Packing date: AFVU-USR00= ASSY_GAL of th superior order(AFKO-MAUFNR,where AFVU- AUFPL = AFKO-AUFPL)
Order : AFKO-AUFNR
Sales Order: AFPO-KDAUF of superior order(AFKO-MAUFNR,where AFVU-AUFPL = AFKO-AUFPL)
Item Number :
Qty: AFVV-MGVRG where AFVU-USR00='CUT' & AFVU--AUFPL = AFKO-AUFPL
& co many other fields form AFKO table.
I am bit confused what will be the fields & tabels i have to declare in Form interface & Global parameters.
What will be the internal table for the table which display data.
In the main page i have to show 10 colums i dont no how to define table for those 10 columns
As per the requirement can anywone please tell me in detail to solve these problems. like which r te tables i have to use in interface parameters & which wil be in global paramenters.
Which itab i will use to create the table in main window
& how i can declare 10 columns in that table.
Regards,
Nikhi nikil.
I use to follow this procedure.
1) Based on the select criteria.fetch values in to differnet itab's from differnet tables.
2) then try to put the selected rows based on condition into a single internal table.
3)u can send that final internal table from program and u have to use that internal table in form interrface.
4)design the smartforms and call the fields accordingly from the final inetrnal table .
5)u should be good in using select query ,read table statement etc.
check this with other and take a decision.some of them use to write codes then and there before using the fields using progarm lines.
but i am comfortable in my method.

Set default File Export Form for Communication Medium?
Hi,
Does anyone know whether it's possible to set a default File Export Form for Communication Medium.
For example, I created communication medium 'Direct Mailing'. Everytime when a user selects this communication medium in a Marketing Campaign, I would like the File Export Form 'Z_DIRECT_MAILING' to be selected automatically. Is this possible?
Regards,
Jeroen@ Rienk - That isn't my issue, what I was looking for was to have the last setting I selected (either in Batch Export or in QT Movie Export) "Stick" so when I go to do the next set I don't have to re-select all of my settings.
@ Nick - Not a good thing in this case. I need to send out QTs that have the speed change "baked-in" and convert the format(to ProRes, so the Color Grading session using "Color" doesn't choke. I changed my Sequence: "Settings > QuickTime Video Settings > Compressor" to ProRes, but the "Current Setting" seems to stick to the original clip's capture format (XDCAM EX). -
Post Migration from SP2010 -Attach File Button not working in any list new/edit forms
Hi,
We have migrated the SharePoint 2010 farm to Sharepoint 2013 on last saturday and we are noticing an interesting issue after the migration .
On any custom list on any web application ,When we create a new item,if we click on attach file button in the ribbon, nothing shows up on the screen.
In the browser Dev Tools its showing an error message as "Cannot read Property style of null".
This is happening on a javascript (form.debug.js) on line No : 5276
(document.getElementById("partAttachment")).style.display = "block";
There is no element rendered in html with id "partAttachment",which is causing this error to happen.
Solutions tried are
1) Modified the List Advanced Settings to disable and enable the attachments ,which did not work
2) Ran the Sharepoint Configuration wizard which did not fix
3)Tried reset the site definition for all pages in the site from site settings
4) Deactivated and activated all the activated features in the site collection
Its an OOB List New Form,no customizations has been done.
Similar error occurring with List Edit form as well
when you click on the List Item in the List default view when you navigate to the list and when you click on attach file,a popup dialog to upload attachments appearing,However its not working when you
navigate into the list item and tried to upload attachment.
Please help if any Solutions / thoughtsHi Christopher,
Thanks for your reply,
Farm Information

Creation of forms in Custom list for different departments in share point online .
Hello ,
We are using office 365 E3 plan in our organization.Recently we got a requirement from the management to create forms for different departments.I will explain a bit more on requirement.
We have three departments A, B & C .We want to create a form in such a way ,fields varies based on their respective department .If a form has 30 fields to fill , dept A fills
only first 10 fields which they need and will forward the form to next dept to fill remaining fields. Here when Dept A forwards the form the first 10 fields has to be hide for other depts .when Dept B and C logged into their accounts to fill the form only their
fields need to be available in the form and remaining options has to hide .After filling all fields from different dept . After filling the forms Dept A can see all the fields to check the data .
Any one can please help me out how to initiate the process to meet this requirement. The simlest approch for you is to create 3 different list with 3 different forms. But you can update their connection string to store the data(xml) in same list or different list
Or try below:

If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered
