Custom gradients that follow an object from start to finish?

Hello,
I want to create special shapes, with custom gradients that follow the object from start to finish.
I manage to do this for a single line using an artwok pencil (see "Custom gradient" in image below), but not for a more complicated shape (see "The shape I want" in image below as an example)
Help would be very muh appreciated!
Kind regards
Pete

Hello again,
I might be thick in the head, but I cant get this to work.
1. When creating the art brush, should any special setting be made? I used the defaults

  • I want to create a "Play All" chapter marker that will play the video from start to finish in addition to the standard chapters I have-I guess I can auto start the DVD but would prefer a button-how and where would I put this "play all" marker??

    I want to create a "Play All" chapter marker that will play the video from start to finish in addition to the standard chapters I have…I guess I can auto start the DVD but would prefer a button…how and where would I put this "play all" marker?? Thanks..

    The start chapter button is a play the whole movie button regardless of how many other markers you have.
    Once a DVD starts playing it continues to the end.
    Chapters marker simply gives the viewer a place to start playback whether it be the start, middle or near the end.

  • Coding with javascript in EDGE tutorials/samples from start to finish

    Hi
    I realize the forum is good sourc for javascript tips. But for us un-whiz kids that take advantage of all the gifts you geniuses at Adobe create, could there be a javascripting for Edge workshop? Coding from start to finish. If one does not know how to implement the code, that ONE is at a loss. I know that I could take EDge and fly with it visually but when it comes to the level of interactivity and animation, Istumble and come to an abrupt stop.
    Is the javascript workshop/tutorials a posibilty?
    Thanks so much,
    Angelique

    Hi Angelique!
    I am in something of the same boat as You. I have found this forum to be very informative & the knowledgeable folks here are very generous with their time... but the information is all over the place and lacks the collimated immediacy of a thorough (indexed!) manual. Ditto the very helpful Animate videos & tutorials on the Internet which, while valuable, are often time consumming to track down specific information.
    When learning a new discipline I do best with cogent printed manuals featuring a methodical presentation - which are also a snap to reference. Along these lines two books have caught my eye and I will be ordering... they might be of interest to You:
    Adobe Edge Animate: The Missing Manual by Chris Grover (O'Reilly Media) - Pages: 306
    Print: $24.99; e-Book: $19.99 (both for $27.49)
    http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920027553.do
    The Missing Manual series has always proved a provident guide for what ever program I was seeking to learn. This book looks like it follows suit. In the example on-line files I perused Chris struck me as an elegant scripter.
    Learning Adobe Edge Animate by Joseph Labrecque (Packt) - Pages: 368
    Print (eBook included in price) $44.99; eBook only $22.94
    http://www.packtpub.com/learning-to-create-engaging-motion-rich-interactivity-with-adobe-e dge/book
    Joseph pulls a few shifts on Adobe TV's Animate tutorials & is excerpted in the edge_animate_reference.pdf. I like how he writes (and~or has a great editor)... concise explanations.
    These books appear to offer info on a plethora of topics with valuable Javascript examples. Though no doubt there will be considerable overlap of subject matter I think these two books feature enough different material to make both worth purchasing.

  • TS1362 songs i have purchased on itunes will not play all the way from start to finish....

    a group of songs from different artist will not play from start to finish and will skip to the next song 3/4 the way through the song...

    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Trapcode Particular: Keeping the same amount of particles from start to finish?

    I'd like to move some particles along a motion path, but I need them to start and finish with the same amount.  What I'm doing is moving a "comet" along a motion path. The particles making up the comet are custom particles of a logo element that I want to move throughout a specific scene.
    That part is no problem. I'm just having problems creating - say - 50 particles - and keeping that number from start to finish. Right now the comet keeps emitting new particles. Any setting I've tried either removes or adds too many particles or changes the shape of the emitter. Nothing I've tried seems to work.
    Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,  Ray

    Should be no problem by keyframing the parameters, so it's not clear to me where you are having problems. The simplest way to get an exact number would be to use a Layer Grid emitter - set it to the desired x and y density in the Options, then set the number of particles to match that value (which apparently only can be x multiplied with y), then animate the Particles/sec. property to only give one burst, e.g. by setting the number to a few 100 first and after only 5 frames animating it to zero. During those five frames all particles should have had a chnace to be born. For the actual path simply use the Motion Path option in the Air physics model based on a light. Either that or you will have to balance out the Inherit Velocity from Motion option with Air Resistance so the particles seem to swarm around the emitter. Likewise, you could use a Radial Field to capture and constrain them...

  • Print Server setup from start to finish

    So it seems like Setting up OSX Server's Print Service is more problematic than many would like to believe. Basically, I have a bunch of printers that are working fine, accept that people are printing to them directly instead of going through the print server. I have followed scores of advice and have not solved the problem. I would love for someone with a working print server (i.e. print quotas working properly) to explain how they configured their machine from start to finish so I can try that. I'm really at my wits end on this one

    just want to bump this up to see if we get any responses. i'm having the same issue. i've read through the print service admin documentation and i'm having no luck at all. here is what i've done so far, maybe someone can tell me what's going wrong.
    enabled print services in server admin
    logged into the server hosting print services and added the printers. printing directly from this server works just fine.
    on a client computer added the printer using the server's .lan dns name and using the name of the queue as it appears in server admin's list of queues.
    when i try to print from the client, i get an error saying that the host is busy

  • Why won't iTunes just PLAY an album, in order, from start to finish?!

    Very confused....I can't get an album to play through iTunes on my Mac anymore. It used to work just fine but now, no matter what I try, every time I try to play an album iTunes just picks one song at random from the album and plays that. It  won't move on to the next one, even if I try to press the button to skip to the next track. It always seems to play the same track and won't let me do anything!
    It's really annoying and I can't see what is different from before I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Getting thoroughly disheartend with iTunes lately; wish I had never bothered downloading the latest version-it's horrible!
    Can anyone out there help with a straight forward and not-too-technical explanation to help me to be able to play an album, from start to finish , in the order it was made without having to mess about?  I am not used to the whole "Apple" way of working yet- previously had a PC with Windows Media Player which worked really easily. iTunes is infuriating me so far!
    Thanks!

    Open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar and View>Show Status Bar.  This will make the new version appear more like earlier versions.  Then go to the Controls menu at the top, choose Shuffle and click "Turn Off Shuffle" (if it shows this).

  • How do you play an album from start to finish without mixing the songs?

    I may be old-fashioned, but I want to play my albums from start to finish without having the songs mixed. I have tried almost anything, but it kips jumping randomly from song to song on an album. Extremely annoying if you are listening to a concept album like Berlin by Einstürzende Neubaten!!

    Either I am a complete idiot (which could be :-D ), or I have done something that disables the functions you are describing. I have taken screenshots of available menus on my iPhone:

  • Movie won't play from start to finish

    I'm an idiot I know but I'm editing my first movie and can't find the answer to this in the online brochure. Here's the problem:
    1. I've assembled all of my clips in the video track.
    2. Have not inserted any transitions because I was having trouble with the "overlap" transition. "Add" button was grayed out.
    3. Whenever I try to play the movie to see how all the clips work with each other, the movie ends at the end of the first clip. I know I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what!!! Can anybody help me out there?
    I'd buy you a beer if you were here!

    Carl and Sweet Polly,
    You guys rock! That was it, I only had the first clip highlighted. When I highlighted everything the movie played from start to finish. Also, learned something new too. I couldn't get the overlay transitions to work so I rebooted, upgraded to os 10.4.11, upgraded Quicktime and now they work. Thanks for your quick response! I probably won't through my computer off the balcony for at least another day now! : > )

  • HT1349 I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and now I cannot play the songs in order, they skip around randomly. The shuffle feature is off. All I really want to do is play an album from start to finish.

    I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and now I cannot play the songs in order. It will skip around or just stop playing the song currently playing when it is finished. I just want to play an album from start to finish. The shuffle feature is turned off.

    It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

  • There must be a simpler way ( from start to finish ). .

    ( I did a search, but the keywords must have been too broad )
    What i describe below worked, but i know a more experienced editor would smile at the unnecessary amount of effort . . .
    At a recent School Centenary I was contracted to spend the whole day collecting stories
    I kept some rough paper notes on the start and stop times of each group interview sessions over 6 tapes
    so
    To reduce wear and tear on the camera transport I captured each tape as low grade clips of about 25 min each ( equated roughly to each interview session )
    from there I:
    a - set up a sequence named as Seq # and dragged only each 1 long clip into it
    b - used the razor tool on THE TIMELINE to cut each clip containing one anecdote per slice
    c - deleted stuff that was obviously unusable
    d - set up a bin titled something like "session #"
    e - dragged the whole of the remaining clips in that sequence # into the bin
    f - repeated the above steps 10 more times .
    so then :
    g - I set up about 20 bins, named to match categorizations that the anecdotes could be "collected" into
    h - took one slice ( from b ) at a time from each Interview session into THE VIEWER
    i - trimmed the in and out points closer to where i wanted them
    j - dropped them back into one of the 'subject' bins set up in (g) according to content
    k - there were some that needed markers to cut away long pauses, flights of irrelevancies etc, and i made a sub-clip of each
    l - spent some time renaming clips, filling text in log note and label fields in case things went awry later
    then for recapture:
    m - I set up a new sequence named for each category to match (g)
    n - dragged the whole contents of each of those bins on to it
    o - did the media manager cut down thing
    p - opened the original bins at (d) and made all the [ now discrete ] clips offline
    q - re-captured that tape.
    at the end of all that ( 11 times over ) I did the final polish and went from there.
    It looks long, and in a sense it was, but I was trying to avoid problems that I usually have with relying too much on Sub-clips.
    Indeed, between steps (p) and (q), some clips had different In/Out points but shared media start and finish, so I manually added offline clips, and with some fancy dancing, got them to replace the disobedient clips that were sending my deck into infinity.
    You'll spot a better way to do things, and no doubt it may involve a different handling of Sub-clips.
    suggestions, anyone?
    thanks
    ~rob v

    sorry not to get back sooner - I've been too flat busy
    Mostly after creating subclips from markers, when time came to recapture, they would run the deck (cam) over and over the same parts of the whole clip for just their little extent to be lifted, even though their defined regions were not overlapping and indeed nowhere near each other. I also remember a tim ewhen they'd recapture the full amount of the parent clip anywaywith the I/O markers set as per prior to recapture.
    In essence, what i've described in a very verbose manner from (a) to (l) above is all the stuff along the way of rough cutting. Admittedly i didn't need to do (m) or (n) and could have done the recapture after Making Clips Offline without the need for setting up sequences in parallel.
    As it was when i did do the deed from the different tapes, they all nicely uprez'd in their positions in the sequences i wanted them - so in that regard i did do it all in one swoop.
    What I choose to do however is always have my work at such a self-explanatory stage so that if my assistant or even i get interrupted for a few weeks on something else and have to return, we dont want to spend any time readjusting our head-space to what we were were doing ( and risk a costly mistake if we interpreted wrongly where the project was at )
    And besides i never trust any machine, code routine or whatever other smarts presented before me. I like things where i can keep track of what the programme is doing in the background, in case i need to snaffle the very thing from the disk cache manually. Its happened! and I didn't lose time or money. I'll pay the price of doing things the long way round.
    however i will take advice if there is a more elegant way of being so-minded.

  • Custom cursor that follows mouse - JITTERS

    Hi again.
    I'm using this code to make my custom cursor follow the mouse, HOWEVER when it gets near to the mouth it goes loopy - and turns left and right in a fit. Can I put code in there for it to be smoother?

    //init();
    // spins the object
    spin();
    trace(varObject);// BUT you can trace the STRING ie: No need to use OBJECT(STRING) - which would be the actual mc.
    removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, enterFrameHandler);// ie: You can't do a hitTest on a string BUT on an object. (The array)
    //var soundClip:Sound;

    //soundClip.load(new URLRequest("sound/chocolate.mp3"));

    //function soundLoaded(e:Event) {
    //soundClip.play();
    function spin() {
    //tw.addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH, spinStopped);// note than when you use addEventListener - the function called uses that event as an argument in brackets after the function name
    var tw:Tween=new Tween(this[varObject],"rotation",Strong.easeOut,0,360,2,true);
    var numturns:int=8;
    this[varObject].removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, spin);
    tw.begin=this[varObject].rotation;
    tw.finish=numturns*360;
    tw.start();
    i=i+1;

    you can easily attach the cursor between the specific layers you want using an empty movieclip and add your cursor movieclip to the emptyMC using the class name. Look at the screenshot and follow the code. it works
    and here is the code:
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    var whytehand:MovieClip=new cur();
    emptyMC.addChild(whytehand);
    emptyMC.mouseEnabled = false;
    emptyMC.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, fl_CustomMouseCursor_5);
    function fl_CustomMouseCursor_5(event:Event)
        emptyMC.x = stage.mouseX;
        emptyMC.y = stage.mouseY;
    Mouse.hide();
    Thatz it!

  • Calling REST Services that accept JSON objects from BPEL Process

    Hi,
    I do have a requirement of calling RESTful service from the BPEL process (SOA Suite 11.1.1.5). The RESTful service accepts the payload as JSON object.
    I have gone through the documentation of HTTP binding through which we can call RESTful services from BPEL. But the payload option is coming as only XML.
    So just wondering whether BPEL has out-of-the box support for JSON object payloads when calling REST service? Please let me know if you have any pointers on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    S

    Hi Vijay,
    Thanks for the links Vijay.
    Went through the links and the documentation. From that i could see the only way is coming up with Java based proxy which takes care of XML to JSON conversion and calling the REST based service. This would actually need a java developer now :)

    Siva
