Custom messages to the "Details" Option in the iView

Hi
Can any one let me know
How  we can  add custom messages to the "Details" Option in the iView
Any Help will be appreciated
Regards,
Prema

Nothing at all.
It still works the same way for me as it always did. It might help if you specified which email provider you use - for instance I believe that Gmail has its own way of deleting/archiving emails so you need to be more specific than ..."what happened to the trash option in the new iOS mail".

  • [NIO] custom messages from the netwerk

    Hi you all,
    Yes this is another NIO question :)
    Ok I have the following situation, I've got a NIO server which reads custom messages from the netwerk. These messages consists of an interger and then a variable byte array.
    int -> length of the message
    byte array -> data of message (could be anything)
    On my local network it works fine because I don't have to worry about my read() not reading all the bytes the client send. So I can just use the ByteBuffer.getInt() to read the int and create a buffer for the byte array etc.
    But... on the intenet there is no garentee all the bytes are read. So if only the first 3 bytes of the whole message are in my read buffer and I call the getInt() I'll get an exception.
    How would you fix this? The only garentee is that I will always have 1 byte (except when a connection is closed or other error)
    I could create of small bytebuffer of 4 bytes and wait till it's full and then read the int, but what if I also have a length that can consist out of like 5 or 6 bytes... and I don't know by forehand if it's 4 or 5 or 6... or just 2...
    Any idear would be welcome... or even code if you have the time...
    Grtz
    David

    Use ByteBuffer[] { lengthField, dataField } as a structure for messages. Set the size of the length field statically as part of the protocol. Set dataField's limit to 0. Do readsinto this structure (there is an appropriate read method for an array of ByteBuffers) until there lengthField.remaining() == 0. At this point, read the int/long/whatever from lengthField and set dataField's limit to that. Then do the reads necessary until dataField.remaining() == 0. At this point, you'll have your whole message.
    The reason that I say "do reads" is that on any particular read you may only get one byte's worth of data. Therefore you have to hold this partially completed message in some variable, or as an attachment to the SelectionKey which was selected. As the Channel continually gets selected for OP_READ, you can do the above steps, and if there's not enough left in the channel, you just leave the message partially completed for the next OP_READ. Once it's complete, you do what you need to with it, and replace the attachment or variable with an empty ByteBuffer[] of the above format.

  • Adding custom message on the login page

    I have done the following to try and get a custom message to display on the oracle login page:
    1:
    In the System Administrator Responsibility, went into the System Profile Options and searched for "Local Login Mask" The default value was 32, I set it to 96. This was done because 64 is the number to display a "Corporate Policy Message" on the login page (32+64 = 96).
    2:
    Switched over to the Application Developer responsibility, and went to Application->Messages. Here I did a search for "FND_SSO_SARBANES_OXLEY_TEXT". A result came back with current message text: "Corporate Policy Message". I changed this to a test message and hit save.
    3
    Still in Application Developer responsibility, I went to Other->Requests->Run and chose "Generate Messages", for parameters I chose:
    Language: US
    Application: Application Object Library
    Mode: DB_TO_RUNTIME
    while leaving the others blank. I submitted this request and it completed normal.
    4
    I logged out of applications, closed my browser and cleared my cache. I went to login into the apps and at the login page... it does display "Corporate Policy Message" but it never updated it to my custom one.
    Question: Do I need to restart the HTTP server or something to see the updated results? I am confused why it will display "Corporate Policy Message" but the value for FND_SSO_SARBANES_OXLEY_TEXT is clearly changed. Even when you go back into it and look.
    The Generate Messages conc prog is a spawned process so I cant find out what its doing.
    Any help would be loved!
    OH PS
    I know I started a previous thread on a similar topic, but the method has changed completely and I think it merits its own thread. My apologies if it shouldn't have been.

    create or replace package body mypackage

    When i try executing the caller proc, i don't get the error. Instead i get the text User-Defined Exception as shown below

    Heyyyyy the error is User-Defined Exception
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.Edited by: user10633418 on Mar 10, 2009 11:30 PM

    Thank you justin.
    Sorry my earlier post was a bit ambiguous.
    I wanted the error generated at proc1 to be captured at caller proc's Exception handling section (line 64) so that i could log the error to an ERR_LOG table.
    I can actually log this error at proc1 itself like
    exception
    when others
    THEN
    error_message :='My custom message for the particular proc '||SQLERRM;
    dbms_output.put_line(error_message);
    logerror(error_message); --an autonomous error logging proc
    raise;But there is a RAISE statement in proc1's exception handling, so the exception gets propogated to caller proc's exception handling section {color:#ff0000}*and another redundant row will be created at ERR_LOG table for the same error because there is a*{color}
    logerror(error_message);--an autonomous error logging proc
    in the WHEN OTHERS section of exception handling section of the caller proc
    I want to avoid the creation of this redundant row in ERR_LOG table.

  • Put Message in the Monitor

    I am trying to write a message to the monitor from the start routine of my update rules.  I am using the below code:
          MONITOR-MSGID = 'RSM1'.
          MONITOR-MSGTY = 'I'.
          MONITOR-MSGNO = 799.
          MONITOR-MSGV1 = 'Load Error: '.
          MONITOR-MSGV2 = 'No Material for Specification: '.
          MONITOR-MSGV3 = wa_dp-ehs_spec.
          append MONITOR.
    However, the only message that shows up in the monitor is "*****  Scheduler".  I do not get the error message text that I specify to show up in the monitor.  Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

    Hello Mark,
    Depending on the BW version and the supportpackage level, an error can occur when the monitor functions are used. This is described in SAP Note 886222 “Note 859813 - MSGNO is not displayed in monitor.”
    The monitor entries are filled with the custom messages in the start routine but the values in  MSGNO and MSGV1 of the message are not passed to the monitor and are not displayed. This note corrects a problem that was introduced with note 859813.
    If the BW system is on the support package level described below, the problem can occur.
    BW release     3.0 B
    Problem occurs in SP 28
    Problem solved in SP 29
    BW release     3.1C (content)
    Problem occurs in SP 22
    Problem solved in SP 23
    BW release     3.5
    Problem occurs in SP 14
    Problem solved in SP 15
    Hope this helps

  • How to handle ADF_FACES Errors/Exceptions and display customized message.

    Hi All,
    <b>My question here is, </b>
    Is there any way to handle the validation/PPR kind of run time exceptions/errors. I have tried to handle these errors by extending the lifecycle and overridden the reportErrors method. But this method is being called in the PREPARE_RENDER phase. But the exception is happening in the JSF_PROCESS_VALIDATIONS phase. I have tried to handle the exceptions in the custom PagePhaseListener. But these exceptions could not be handled in the custom PagePhaseListener.
    <b>I would like to display a customized message to the user instead of displaying the PPR exception</b>.
    The details are given below.
    I have a use case related to the security like if there is a drop down list in a page. Drop down list is having a af:validateRegExp component which allows only alphabets. Dropdown is populating alphanumeric values.
    One option is selected in the drop down list and submitted the value with the help of the commondbutton.
    With the help of some tools, we modified the submitted value(index of the list submitted) to some alphabets.
    <b>Its throwing some validation exception. Some of the statements are given below.</b>
    <UIXRegion> <_warn> Error processing viewId: /Validate_TF/validate URI: /validate.jsff actual-URI: /validate.jsff.
    java.lang.NumberFormatException: ADF_FACES-60034:SelectOne could not convert index 0asd
    <LifecycleImpl> <_handleException> ADF_FACES-60098:Faces lifecycle receives unhandled exceptions in phase PROCESS_VALIDATIONS 3
    <RegistrationConfigurator> <handleError> ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR
    <b>displaying a popup dialog with error message like:</b>
    ADF_FACES_60034:could not convert index
    ADF_FACES_60097:server exception
    ADF_FACES_60096: some exception occurred during PPR,
    <b>I don't want to show these kind of messages to user. Please suggest me whether is it possible or not.</b>
    Thanks in advance.

  • DISPLAY ONLY CUSTOM MESSAGE WITH SRW.MESSAGE

    Hi.I created a report with Report Builder 9i.I also created two form parameters of type date.I put inside the validation trigger in the property inspector the following plsql code.
    function FROM_DATEValidTrigger return boolean is
    v_date VARCHAR2(12);
    date1 date;
    begin
    v_date := :from_date;
    date1:=TO_DATE(v_date, 'DD/MM/YYYY');
    return (TRUE);
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    SRW.MESSAGE(546,'My Message');
    return (FALSE);
    end;
    This code works fine.Supose the user input wrong data for example 29/02/2003 displays an alert message
    with my custom message.But after this displays an another message from the Report Builder like this:
    Rep-0546:Invalid parameter input.
    My question is .Is it possible display only my custom message with the SRW.MESSAGE built in procedure?
    Thanks in advance Panagiotis.

    Hi,
    I am using this function in my Validation process to display Error when user gives null input
    function DEPT_IDValidTrigger return boolean is
    begin
         -- Check for Null Value here
         if(:DEPT_ID is null) then
         raise SRW.NULL_ARGUMENTS;
         else
    return true;
    end if;
         Exception
              -- Exception For Null Value
    when SRW.NULL_ARGUMENTS then
         srw.message(100, 'Please Enter Dept ID');
    raise srw.program_abort;
    end function ___ ;
    Function is correct but the error message i am getting at the client side is as follows ::
    "*MSG-00100: Please enter Dept IDREP-1419: 'dept_idvalidtrigger': PL/SQL program aborted.* "
    It seems it is adding some system level error.
    but i want only my custom message to be displayed on the client side ::
    *"Please Enter Dept ID"*
    Is this Possible in Oracle 6i.

  • Enhanced field in Infotype into the iView - ESS

    Dear All,
         I am working in ESS and I have the following scenario. The screen "Family/Related Person"  has to shown to the endusers, for this the standard iView is available (PZ12), but the infotype 0021 (Family Member/Dependents) has been enhanced to include additional field. Here the requirement is to include the customized field into the iView.
        How can I proceed with this requirement, whether I should go for new webdynpro development or can I copy the program of standard iView into a z-progrm and include the field and necessary coding, if i go with second option is there is anywhere the dependencies will get affected while updating the Infotype 21.
        Your valuable inputs on the same pls.
    Thanks
    Gargam

    Thanks Saurabh
    I read the wiki page, its helpful and in my case I am not adding a custom field, but I want to show a field which is already present in infotype record...
    Wiki says "If you do not need to add a new custom field to the front end, but just an already existing field of the Infotype record, you do not have to do anything at this point."
    So it appears, if I change the structure and add a new field in iview that will be sufficient.Any toughts on this?
    I am going to give it a try a see if that works.
    Thanks

  • Custom message during Invoice parking

    Hi ,
    I am implementing ECC MM module.
    Sceanrio is that during creation of a PO , the buyer will sometimes put an internal note , to be checked by the FI person during invoice parking.
    The requirement is :
    1. How to create a custom message " check the PO for any special instructions", and mark it as warning message
    2. This message should be displayed when the AP person is trying to park the invoice
    Rgds
    Sumendra

    I am sure there are many ways to accomplish this but a simple method is to use a validation.
    Go to GGB0 and under Financial Accounting,  and document header, create a simple validation that includes something like...
    prerequisite -      BKPF-TCODE = 'FV60'
    check -                 SYST-UNAME = ' '
    message  type -       W
    message number -   0XX
       "The custom message in message class ZFI (check the PO for any special instructions") is created in SE91 using the next available free message number.
    Then use OB28 to make the callup point for the validation 1" for document header, enter the validation name and make the activation level "1".
    Then any user paking a document using FV60 for instance will get a warning message when saving the document as complete.
