  • Dropdown with the help of webelements.

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement in crystal reports for enterprise to show a dropdown having more than thousand values in it. If i go for a simple dropdown, It will be a huge list and difficult for the user to find the value from a huge list. Can you suggest any better way to implement it?
    I heard about webelements in Crystal reports. With the help of webelements can i make the dropdown selection easier?  I would be grateful if you can provide me with inputs.
    Regards
    Sarahanna

    that's actually why it was built, to make parameter selection easier for the end user.
    if you have a bunch of parameters on a report and then refresh the report, the default prompt page can be baffling to the end user...it ends up being this long interface wherein the end user has to ensure that they fill in values as they scroll down. as the report developer is unable to actually embed instructions into the prompt page, or provide default values for all prompts (like dates), or to even hide or then show specific controls, it is not very friendly.
    with the webelements functions you can create a graphical interface at the top of a report as in the provided live example or create a separate report that acts as the interface. since you are using crystal reports to design this you have flexibility in what you show and how you show it.
    the example provided shows how to take way over 1000 values and break it down into usable controls.

  • How to setup the email service & report template with BO XI3

    Hi,
    I'm new to BOBJ. Can anyone share your experience and guidelines on setting up the email server? I tried to do it in CMC, yet it doesn't works.
    My requirement is that :
    1. I need to send the WebI report to a group of users in a specific datetime(scheduler). Can BO XI3 works in this way?If yes,then how?
    2. Is there a way to configure the WebI report with Company Logo and Company Name? Maybe we can called it as a report template, so the Company Logo and Company Name will appear whenever the user create any new report. How should I handle this?
    Please advise.
    Much appreciation for your help!
    Best regards,
    Tee

    1. There are a few steps to set up an email server. The best guide to this is the BOE administrators guide, which you can access at help.sap.com or try this link http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_bip_admin_en.pdf
    You will want to go the section on Email destination properties.
    Basically you will need the details of your SMTP server, and enter details for the appropriate job server(s).
    2. To setup a Webi template you create a report off of a Universe, format it so it displays your company logo in your header (look at the properties tab), and hard-code your company name, or use a dimension object with your company name in the query.
    Do your formatting on this simple report how you want it, i.e. fonts, borders, shading, page margins etc. Then in your query strip out all query objects apart from at least one, which is common between all your universes (i..e you could define a dummy variable like Today's date in all your universes).
    Save this report as 'Template Report' or similar, and ask all your users to use that as the starting point. So they would edit the template report, re-point the report to whatever universe they wanted then save it as a different name. Make sure they don't overwrite the template report.
    Good luck!

    Hello Chinasammy,
    Report Painter allows you to create reports using data from SAP application components, which you can adapt to meet your individual requirements.
    Many of your reporting requirements can already be met by using the standard reports provided by various SAP application components. If these SAP standard reports do not meet your reporting needs, Report Painter enables you to define your specific reports quickly and easily.
    When executing a Report Painter report, it is displayed by the system in Report Writer format. You thus have access to the same functions as for Report Writer reports defined in the same way, and can combine Report Painter and Report Writer reports together in a report group.
    Report Painter uses a graphical report structure, which forms the basis for your report definition and displays the rows and columns as they appear in the final report output.
    To facilitate report definition, you can use many of the standard reporting objects provided by SAP (such as libraries, row/column models, and standard layouts) in your own specific reports. When you define a Report Painter report you can use groups (sets). You can also enter characteristic values directly.
    Advantages of Report Painter include:
    Flexible and simple report definition
    Report definition without using sets
    Direct layout control: The rows and columns are displayed in the report definition as they appear in the final report output, making test runs unnecessary.
    =============================================
    Below mentioned is the process for creating reports using Report Painter as a tool.
    Selecting and maintaining a library for your report: As the transfer structure to Report Painter you use a report table, which is defaulted by SAP and can not be maintained. This table contains characteristics, key figures and predefined columns. In a library, you collect the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns from the report table, which you need for your Report Painter reports.
    When you define a Report Painter report, you assign it to a library. Reports assigned to one library can only use the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for that library.
    When you create or maintain a library, the Position field determines the sequence in which the characteristics, key figures or (predefined) key figures appear in the Report Painter selection lists when you define a report. This allows you to position the objects that you use regularly in your reports at the beginning of the selection lists. If you do not make an entry in the Position field, you will not be able to use this object in Report Painter reports.
    You can use either the standard SAP libraries for your reports or define your own.
    (ii) Selecting or maintaining a standard layout for your report: Standard layouts determine report layout features and the format of your report data.If the SAP standard layouts do not meet your reporting requirements, you can create a new  standard layout or change an existing one.
    (iii) Defining row and column models: A model is a one-dimensional, predefined reporting structure that you can insert in either the rows or columns of your report.If you often use the same or similar row or column definitions in your reports, it is recommended that you create row or column models.
    You must define the row and/or column models that you want to include in your report definition before you define the report.
    You can also use the standard column models supplied by SAP.
    (iv) Defining the report: Defining a Report Painter report involves the following steps.
    (a) Define the report columns: You define the report columns using the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for the library that the report uses. Alternatively, you can use a column model for column definition. Column models are predefined column structures which you insert into your entire column definition, instead of defining each individual column.
    (b) Define the report rows: You define the report rows using the characteristics selected for the library selected for the report.
    Alternatively, you can use a row model for your row definition. Row models serve the same purpose as column models, but are used to define a report row.
    Edit and format the report rows and columns in line with your requirements. (For example, you can hide rows or columns, define the column width or define colors for your report rows).
    (iii)Define general data selection criteria for the selection of your report data: Selection criteria are the characteristics used to select data for the entire report. You cannot enter characteristics as data selection criteria if they are already being used in the report rows or columns.
    (iv) Assigning the report to a report group: Once you have defined a report, you must assign it to a report group. A report group can contain one or more reports from the same library. However, reports that share the same data will select data more quickly and improve processing time.
    Hopw this helps you. Please let me know if you need anything more and assign points.

  • Link in my customized Report Template doesn't work – Apex 3.1

    I created a report template based on columns of my report
    My query report is:
    SELECT MEM_NAS ID, MEM_NOM NAME, MEM_DATE_NAIS BIRTH
    FROM ACMT_MEMBRE;
    My customized report template have this Row Template definition:
    <tr onclick="redirect('f?p=&APP_ID.:6:&SESSION.:::6:P6_NAS:#ID#');">
    <td #ALIGNMENT# class="t16data_edit">#NAME#</td>
    <td #ALIGNMENT# class="t16data_edit">#BIRTH#</td>
    </tr>
    This would redirect to the page 6 when user click anywhere on a row but it doesn’t work.
    I have this error message:
    CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');"> CHECK$01');">
    I realized that problem is caused by #ID# because if I hardcode this ID, it works.
    How can my report template get the “ID” from my query report ?

    Is the report template definitely of type Named Column (row template) (defined on App Builder page 4000:4654) and not Generic Columns (column template) (defined on page 400:258)?
    Note that the <tt>#ALIGNMENT#</tt> substitution string is not supported in named column templates. Set column alignment explicitly using HTML attributes in the template, or use CSS.
    This would redirect to the page 6 when user click anywhere on a row but it doesn’t work.

    {code}Where do you see this? It looks like there's a mismatch between the report columns returned by the query and those referenced in the report template. Or the data contains unsafe HTML characters that aren't being escaped.
    Yes, my report query has a column called ID and it's set as Hidden. This could be the problem. In a report based on a named column template any columns referenced in the template must be +shown+ in the report, even if (as in this case) the column value is not visible to the user: the positioning of the <tt>#ID#</tt> column placeholder in the <tt>onclick</tt> attribute rather than in a table cell is what makes it "hidden". *The Show checkbox for the ID column must be checked.*
    From the gobbledygook being generated it looks like there could be a row selector checkbox column in this report as well? Named column row templates must include substitution placeholders for every shown column. It's also advisable to keep the columns in the same order in the SQL, report column attributes and row template.
    Something like
    {code}
    &lt;tr onclick="redirect('f?p=&APP_ID.:6:&SESSION.:::6:P6_NAS:#ID#');"&gt;
    <td class="t16data_edit">#CHECK$01#</td>
    <td class="t16data_edit">#NAME#</td>
    <td class="t16data_edit">#BIRTH#</td>
    </tr>
    {code}
    I realized that problem is caused by #ID# because if I hardcode this ID, it works.
    How can my report template get the “ID” from my query report ?If the above doesn't help then the easiest way to troubleshoot this would be for you to upload the app to apex.oracle.com and post guest developer credentials for the workspace so we can see the whole thing: template, SQL, and report attributes. Otherwise we're likely to and up with a lot of tedious to and fro here posting bits of code and attribute values.

  • Custom Report Template Issue

    Hi,
    I have a Custom Report Template, it is a Named Column(Row) Report that I have created. It seems I can get the look and feel I want on a per row basis. But when I try and convert it to be able to loop through for a specific type, like a break on the first column, it gets all messed up. I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light for me on this I have tried everything

    Thanks for the input! Yeah it is based on a query from a collection as all this data is summations that i am pre-populating.
    Yes this html is probably from 1998 or 1999 I think they told me actually lol
    So there is no way to accomplish what I am trying to do then?
    There is no way I could use a break on first column and modify the header info to get the same sort of look and feel?Still not really clear what you are trying to accomplish, and in my view there are so many problems with the "look and feel" that it's not worth perpetuating.
    Making a lot of assumptions, I've come up with the kind of HTML structure I'd use when marking up this kind of data. I added a page 2 to your example on apex.oracle.com, showing a basic presentation of this structure alongside the original for comparison, and another styled using the default theme L&F.
    <li>Given the requirement to use multi-level headers (and because I prefer to have total control over the HTML), I stayed with a custom report template rather than trying to utilise column breaking with a generic column report template. This also permits use of more advanced table structures than can be supported by standard templates, such as s<tt>colgroup</tt>s to organize the table columns as well as the rows:
    Before Rows
      <table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" #REPORT_ATTRIBUTES# id="report_#REGION_STATIC_ID#">
      #TOP_PAGINATION#
      <tr>
        <td>
          <table class="fish">
            <caption>Some fishy summaries</caption>
            <colgroup span="1"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="evaluation-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="other-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
    After Rows
          </table>
        </td>
      </tr>
      #PAGINATION#
    </table><li>Rather than separate tables, the report is contained in one HTML table, utilizing the <tt>tbody</tt> element to subdivide this into separate row groups to meet the "break on first column" requirement. This is achieved using conditional row templates, with PL/SQL Expressions based on the values of metadata columns added to the query:

        <tr>

    #ROW_GROUP# != #PREVIOUS_ROW_GROUP#

    This is the "default" template, used for any subsequent data rows in the row group:

          <td>#C15#</td>
          <td>#C16#</td>
        </tr>
      #CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#Both templates make use of a <tt>#CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#</tt> column value conditionally generated in the query that returns a <tt>&lt;/tbody&gt;</tt> tag if the current row is the last data row in the row group. (Mixing logic and structure in this way is not good practice, but APEX only allows up to 4 conditional row templates, which is completely insufficient for any moderately complex structure.)

    The resulting report uses 60% less vertical space, and 87% less HTML code[1] than the original. Usability and accessibility are improved by eliminating nested tables and useless table cells and shim images, increasing the contrast between text and background colours, and using alternating row backgrounds for better visual tracking.

  • Registering a custom report template

    Hi,
    I'm working with Reports 10g.
    I've created a new template and I'm trying to register it so I can see it in the Report Wizard.
    Just to get things rolling I'm concentrating on registering it for a simple Tabular report. So I open cagprefs.ora and edit the Reports.Tabular_Template_Desc and Reports.Tabular_Template_File with the desc and filename of the report.
    I restart reports.
    I use the report wizard to create a Tabular report
    Nothing happens. No new report template.
    Help!

  • Custom Report: Columns with headings merged

    Hello All,
    Is there a way to get a custom layout in reports as depicted in the following image -
    http://tinypic.com/r/20sbqtx/6
    I can generate the simple layout with A, B1, B2 and B3 headings, but I'm not sure how and where to aggregate the B1, B2 and B3 into B.
    Thanks

  • Photosmart C410: How do I associate a custom paper size with the photo tray?

    Our Photosmart 3310 recently broke down and I purchased a C410 to replace it.  I sell a small item online that I ship in 3 5/8 x 6 1/2 envelopes.  With the 3310, I had figured out a way to print the envelopes from the photo tray.  While Word 2007 allows me to select the photo tray, the printer would not print from there until I created a custom paper size in the printer preferences dialog box.
    One of the reasons I got the C410 was for the photo tray.  It's a real pain to have to swap out the regular paper and stick in one evelope every time I want to print another envelope.  Well, unfortunately, that's what I've been doing.  I select the photo tray in Word, but the printer goes right ahead and prints from the main tray.  I had forgotten what I did to make it work on the 3310, so I experimented with that printer's drivers until I figured it out.
    My problem is that the software interface for the C410 is different than that for the 3310.  I can't figure out how to associate a custom paper size with the photo tray.  To test my theory this evening, I told Word that my envelope size was 5 x 7.  The printer didn't hesitate to take an envelope from the photo tray.  Of course the return address went into a dark void because the envelope is not 5 x 7.
    The difference between the two interfaces is that the 3310 has both printing shortcuts as well as "Print Task Quick Sets."  The C410 only has printing shortcuts.
    If anyone can help me, I'll be very grateful!  I've probably spent hours trying to get this figured out, and I have no idea what to do.

    Hi,
    Which Microsoft product (application) are you using ? Printer supports the following custom sizes:
    From ADF: Custom-sized media (ADF) between 127 to 216 mm wide and 241 to 305 mm long (5 to 8.5 inches wide and 9.5 to 12 inches long)
    From input tray: Custom-sized media between 76.2 to 216 mm wide and 101 to 762 mm long (3 to 8.5 inches wide and 4 to 30 inches long)
    You need to select right custom size from the application.
    Regards.

  • Transfer Of Data from Sap to Oracle with the help of Enterprise Services.

    Hello,
    We want to transfer data from Sap to Oracle using standard Enterprise Services.Some fields were not available in the existing standard Enterprise Services,so we have enhanced the existing Services by writing code inside BADI available with Enterprise Services.Rest of the fields we have mapped with the existing fields available in standard Enterprise Services.But,the Oracle people want to fetch all data from Sap without entering any input as a mandatory field in the Enterprise Services.The existing standard Enterprise Services require to enter any field as mandatory and are not accepting the range in input for multiple records.e.g.All enterprise Services related to Sales Orders are displaying only one sales Order.We have searched all Enterprise Services for Sales Order(related to reading of data),but not able to find service which would display mutiple records without entering any input.ECC_SALESORDER009QR is the only service which is displaying multiple records without entering any input,but the required fields are not available in this service.So,kindly suggest what we need to do further.
    1.Should we go for customization of services completely,so that it would fulfil our requirement.
    2.Are there  standard Enterprise Services exists which would we give us data in range(all records).
    If they exists,please specify the names of Services for reading Purchase Order,Production Order,BOM etc.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Divya.

    Hi Vaibhav,
    Let me tell you the objective in detail.
    Objective.
    To develop a package solution which will work as a bridge between Oracle APS and SAP system so that customers using SAP will be able to use advantages of Oracle APS for their planning needs.
    This will consist of following major components:
    OA Templates is an Oracle utility to load data from any legacy system to Oracle APS using standard flat files.
    Oracle has developed an Application Integration Architecture which is a standard architecture used for integration of Oracle products with other systems.
    Enterprise services is an SAP utility to communicate with SAP.
    AIA canonicals are standard canonicals developed by Oracle where we have to map data fields from destination system (Oracle APS) and source system (SAP)
    Fusion middleware is being used to develop application interfaces following AIA standards.
    Tasks at stake:
    Mapping of Oracle APS fields and SAP Enterprise Service fields to AIA canonicals
    Technical work of developing middleware using Oracle Fusion
    From Sap side,we have to map fields which we have received from Oracle with the help of Enterprise Services,rest  consumption of these services is done by Oracle guys.So,suggest is there enterprise services available which would give us multiple records .
    Thanks & Regards,
    Divya.

  • Finding the path with the help of TCode only

    Hi Experts,
    I have a doubt containing that with the help of Transaction code can i find the Path,
    but not the way of "SEARCH_SAP_MENU", this method i know, it applicable only for Easy access only.
    But i cannot able to find the "SPRO / IMG" path.
    Please update with solution
    Regards
    Ravli Kumar .U

    Hi Ravi,
    I am not aware of some direct solution like Search_SAP_Menu for SPRO but here are the alternatives..
    1. Cntrl F in SPRO with some key search words.
    2. Go to that T-code, press F1 and click on customizing from there.

  • Custom report template and URL links

    Hello,
    I have been working on this problem for some-time and it's starting to get frustrating. I am trying to 'mimic' the functionality of the 'people search' application and I am working on the hierarchy portion of it (page 3).
    I copied the (3) custom report templates (one for each level of the hierarchy) and I created three queries to go to each.
    My problem is that the links in the report template code keep getting mixed around -- the mgr_id is showing where the mgr_name should be, etc. In the example application the query has about 6 columns, and the template is only showing three (and the order of them in the report attributes doesn't seem to matter. But when I change the column order in my application, the data in the template changes??
    Here is an example query:
    select MGR_NAME, work_role,
    nvl(total_direct,0) Directs, nvl(total_reports,0) Reports
    from hr_orgchart_view
    where
    emp_id = :p3_emp_id
    And the matching report template:
    <tr align="center" valign="top">
    <td align="center"class="instructiontext">
    <b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
    <br><font size=-2>
    #WORK_ROLE#
    </font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">
    Directs: #DIRECTS#   Total: #REPORTS#</font></td></tr>
    Since the column name is being referenced as the link text, column order should not matter right?
    Please shed some light on this situation, as I am holding up development. I am using version 1.6
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Sorry, the code was messed up in previous post:
    Template:
    <tr align="center" valign="top">
    <td align="center"class="instructiontext">
    <b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
    <br><font size=-2>
    #WORK_ROLE#</font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">
    Directs: #DIRECTS#   Total: #REPORTS#</font></td></tr>
