Custom Update Process
Hi there,
I have a table that have 4 pk columns, so I had to create my own insert, update, delete DMLs.
The update process point is after_submit Process After Submit (When this Button is Pressed: SAVE).
It does not work and return the following error:
>>
ORA-06550: line 0, column 0: PLS-00801: internal error [ph2csql_strdef_to_diana:bind] ORA-06550: line 1, column 14: PL/SQL: ORA-06544: PL/SQL: internal error, arguments: [ph2csql_strdef_to_diana:bind], [], [], [], [], [], [], [] ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored

"may I ask you why you assume that we did not do all of that?"
probably because you showed little evidence of thoughtful troubleshooting in that previous thread to which scott was referring. he had to tell you more than like 5 times about %LDAP_USER%. even after you acknowledged his point (twice!?) you chose to ignore it. also in that thread, you ignored his advice about attempting to gather useful information in your debugging. all that aside, your post on this thread had no useful info in it, so i can see why scott tried to steer to down the right path off the bat. your initial post just said, "i wrote some custom code, and it gave me this nasty message. what do i do?". the answer there would be to debug your code, right? rather than telling you that nine times, scott leveraged his experiences from the previous thread and told you to put more time into your own issue. that's all he's doing. look at your post and look at the previous thread. see how much time scott put in just trying to get around your failure to heed his advice? so, that's my take on why he'd assume you didn't do the basic troubleshooting.
"It's been 5 hours now battling this bugy portion of HTMLDB "
did you prove that, yet? you've got some custom code, but that's all we know (because you didn't tell us anything else). so you're saying that the same exact piece of code works outside of htmldb but not in it? show us that code, then.
in short, i think it's important for you to realize that this is a discussion forum. guys like scott and myself try to help the user community wherever possible, but we have actual work to do besides solve your issue(s). though we're happy to help, neither of your threads show you putting in effort that you're for some reason expecting of us. again, if you just put more time into how you troubleshoot and present your issues, we'd be happy to help. if you're not going to do so, though, you're wasting valuable resources. please take a look at your previous thread...

hope this helps,

Custom Data Processing Extension and Parameters
Hello,
I have successfully implemented a custom data processing extension. Now I'm trying to add parameters, but the documentation is very weak on this topic. Also all examples of custam data processing extensions I have found so far are working without parameter support. Using a search engine I have found a custom data processing extension's sequence diagram during report execution. The related article also gives some hints about the IDbCommandAnalysis interface.
The GetParameters implementation creates a parameter collection based on the current command text and returns this collection. So far no problem.
My question is how to implement the IDbCommand's CreateParameter method and Parameters property? In CreateParameter I just return a new instance of my IDataParameter implementation, and the Parameters property returns a new parameter collection based on the current command text.
Is this ok so? At least this is the first implementation which seems to work in the data designer. If I share an instance variable for GetParameters and Parameters I will either get all parameters twice or BIDS will crash when pressing the execute button in the dataset designer - depending on my actual implementation.
What I'm still missing is how to get the parameters added automaticall to the dataset's properties parameter register?
thanx in advance and kind regards, GeraldI think that finally (after some days of trying) I could make it work. The dataset and report parameters are reflecting the command text's parameters now (BTW: to answer my last question - the dataset's properties are updated after pressing the refresh button only). The road to success was not to use the same member variable for the collections returned by IDbCommandAnalysis:GetParameters() and IDbCommand:Parameter and not to fill the latter one with the command text's parameters (see partial source code below).
public sealed class MyCommand : IDbCommand, IDbCommandAnalysis
private string m_commandText;
private MyParameterCollection m_parameters = new MyParameterCollection();
public string CommandText
get { return this.m_commandText; }
set { SetCommandText(value); }
public IDataParameterCollection Parameters
get { return m_parameters; }
public IDataParameter CreateParameter()
return new MyParameter();
public IDataParameterCollection GetParameters()
return GetParameterCollection();
private void SetCommandText(string commandText)
m_commandText = commandText;
private MyParameterCollection GetParameterCollection()
// ... create parameter collection based on m_commandText
Still there are some open questions:
How can I update the report parameter's properties? Now the parameter's data type is always string, but I'd like to assign the right data type. I'd also like to tag the parameters as hidden and supply a non-queried default value. Is this possible? How?
Although I my implementation of IDbCommandAnalysis:GetParameters() returns a collection containing the parameter names and values the "prompt query parameters" dialog (after pressing the query designer's execute button in the toolbar) shows a "<blank>" value for the parameters. What could be the problem?
Thanx in advance and regards,
Gerald -
Error when reassigning a custom task process
Hello!
I have an error when reassigning a custom task process.
That is what I see at the workflow history: Task assigned to xxx was delegated by xxx. Coments: xxx
However in the second line of the history an error is shown with the following information:
Event type: error
User ID: System account
Description: An error has occurred in nameofthetask
No new task is created for the user who the task was reassigned to.
Any help would be appreciatedHi,
From the error message, I
guess that you come across an OOTB Approval
Workflow.
When you define your workflow, there is a section "Enable content Approval Workflow Activities", where you can check "Update the approval status after the workflow is completed (use
this workflow to control content approval)". If you check this option, and you do not have content approval enabled on the library level, you get the system account error message. If you do not check it, everything works fine.
Or you can go to the document library settings and go to Versioning Settings Page, set "Require content approval for submitted items to?" to yes and everything should be fine.
Refer to the following blogs about the similar issue:

Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12899: value too large for column "DEV_OIM"."REQUEST_APPROVALS"."APPROVAL_STATUS" (actual: 442, maximum: 32)
you are inserting a value too large for REQUEST_APPROVALS.APPROVAL_STATUS column. It should contain values like COMPLETED, approved, rejected etc... Check your custom approval process again.

Do F-32 Clear Customer and Process Open Items just do BKPF/BSEG adds/chgs ?
!uestion 1:
When a user executes F-32 in "clear customer" and "process open items" modalities, are BKPF and BSEG the only tables that actually get changed via adds or updates?
Or are there other tables affected as well?
Question 2:
If BKPF and BSEG are the only affected tables, can I safely emulate the effect of the F-32 Clear Customer and Process Open Items Modalities by:
1) examining the BKPF/BSEG records added or changed;
2) using the appropriate BAPI(s) to accomplish these adds/changes (like BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST)
Question 3:
If BKPF and BSEG are NOT the only tables affected by F-32 Clear Customer and Process Open Items, can I emulate these modalities of F-32 thru an appropriate combinaton of BAPIs ?
Note:
The reason Im asking these questions the way I am is because a search of SDN turns up no really good answer to the question of whether the Clear Customer and Process Open Items modlaities of F-32 can be emulated by one BAPI or a combination of BAPI's.
So by formulating questions (1-3) the way I have, I'm hoping that someone will provide SDN with a clear and definitive answer to the "F-32 BAPI Emulation" question.
Thanks for any expert advice anyone can provide.
Best
djhActually, the "right" answer in this case is to call CLEAR_DOCUMENTS and model the call after the call in PRELIMINARY_POSTING_ZANF_CLEAR

Error in Update Process for optimistic locking
Hello,
I tried to create a tabular form according to this How-To:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/howtos/tabular_form.html
which worked fine until I tried to implement the optimistic locking.
I use the same update process:
declare
l_cks wwv_flow_global.vc_arr2;
j pls_integer := 1;
begin
-- Get original MD5 checksum
select wwv_flow_item.md5(job,mgr,hiredate,sal,comm,deptno) cks
BULK COLLECT INTO
l_cks
from emp;
-- Compare the original checksum, l_cks,
-- with submitted checksum, htmldb_application.g_fcs.
-- If they are different, raise an error.
for i in 1..l_cks.count
loop
if htmldb_application.g_fcs(i) != l_cks(i) then
rollback;
raise_application_error(
-20001,
'Current version of data in database has changed '||
'since user initiated update process.');
return;
end if;
end loop;
but as soon as I try to apply the changes in the update process I get an error message saying: PLS-00503: RETURN statement required for this return from function
So, if i delete the row with the "return;" statement, I get no error anymore, but when I test the optimistic locking I get an error as soon as I try to update a row in the first place.
What am I doing wrong?
Johnny
P.S. : I am using Apex 1.6Hi Ant, of course......here is the customized pl/sql block I use:
declare
l_cks wwv_flow_global.vc_arr2;
j pls_integer := 1;
begin
-- Get original MD5 checksum
select wwv_flow_item.md5(partition,desig) cks
BULK COLLECT INTO
l_cks
from UNITS;
-- Compare the original checksum, l_cks,
-- with submitted checksum, htmldb_application.g_fcs.
-- If they are different, raise an error.
for i in 1..l_cks.count
loop
if htmldb_application.g_fcs(i) != l_cks(i) then
rollback;
raise_application_error(-20001,'Current version of data in database has changed ' || 'since user initiated update process.');
-- return;
end if;
end loop;
-- update UNITS
for i in 1..htmldb_application.g_f08.count
loop
if htmldb_application.g_f08(i) is not null then
update UNITS
set report_id = :P2_REPORT_ID,
partition = htmldb_application.g_f10(i),
desig = htmldb_application.g_f11(i)
where unit_id = htmldb_application.g_f08(i);
else
if htmldb_application.g_f10(i) is not null then
insert into UNITS
(report_id,
partition,
desig)
values
(:P2_REPORT_ID,
htmldb_application.g_f10(i),
htmldb_application.g_f11(i));
end if;
end if;
end loop;
end;
Thanks

Update process for installed CS extensions
Hi,
Once a CS extension has been built and installed what options are there if you want to send out a update for a CS extension you have developed, how do you notify users who have installed the extension that there is an update.
As CS Extensions created through CS Extension Builder are based on Adobe AIR is it possible to implement a update process similar to desktop AIR applications where it checks everytime it starts up if there is an update available or is there another solution?
Thanks
StephenEven if the whole process is not yet finalized yet, a few things can be said already:
Updates will be deloyed in the customer tennant => no explizit installation take place.
The update will probably be visible via the business configuration or a kind of system message.
Updates are also independent of the ByDesign release cycles. -
Manual tabular form "Update Process"
Hello,
i made a tabular form manually,
now i want to add an update process, but its not working?
I created a Button "P_UPDATE" and i added a Process which listens to the P_UPDATE Button.
i used the following PL/SQL script:
for i in 1..htmldb_application.g_f01.count
loop
update MATCHUMSATZ
set PARTNER_ID = replace(htmldb_application.g_f10(i),'%'||'null%',NULL),
RECH_DATUM = replace(htmldb_application.g_f02(i),'%'||'null%',null),
RECH_NR= htmldb_application.g_f06(i),
PROV_GRUNDLAGE= htmldb_application.g_f08(i),
KUNDE= htmldb_application.g_f14(i),
VERTRIEBSART_ID = replace(htmldb_application.g_f17(i),'%'||'null%',NULL)
where id = htmldb_application.g_f01(i);
end loop;
This is an example which i customized from: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/howtos/tabular_form.html
I suppose that 'htmldb_application.g_f01' is the ID of the table 'MATCHUMSATZ'.
Why is there replace() and sometimes not ?
Would be glad if anybody could help me!
PhilHi Phil,
You can add in the in-built MRU update process that will do this for you. When you add a process, select Data Manipulation then Multi Row Update, then follow the prompts to link it to your table.
In your code snippet, htmldb_application.g_f01 refers to the first column in your form (even if this is hidden). Normally this is the Primary Key for the table on which the form is based. htmldb_application.g_f02 refers to the second column and so on, although you can assign any number from 1 to 50 to each field when you create the sql statement.
The replace() function is used because some of the fields will contain %null% which needs to be converted to null before updating the table.

Hi to all,
we are studing here a solution about the update process of a photoshop flex panel.
We are using the trial library CSXS Extension Library and Flex 4.5 and we are thinking about an automatic update process of a photoshop panel.
Actually we don't know if it is possibile to use the update framework from AIR or a custom approach....do you have any advice?
thanks.
MeriturvaHi,
Check whether the tablespaces are nearing full? If so increase the size of the tablespace.
Check for filesystem space too..
If the above is fine, refresh the SM50 screen to check any update is happening and also check the dev_w* log for any errors..

Hi All,
When Arranged,Promised(Residual) and Broken columns are updated / data fetched in T-Code : FDM_COLL01 - Customer list process receivables / Collections Management.

SudarshanI would check the line items.
There will be missing line items, I would check them.
Have you got any noted items, special GL items, items that were cleared in the future?
Also have you activated Head Office display as per Enhancement Package 4 - that could be a reason as well. -
Guys, it has been a great help from last 4-5 days for me. I never imagined it. Now the most important aspect is unclear to me. I have read a lot about delta update but it remains unclear to me.like
-R3 recompilation run
-setup table filling
-RSA7
-LBWE
-DELTA INITIALIZATION
-empty queue
please take time out and explain me the whole procedure via "queue delta update".
I have read a lot of links but still remain unclear. it will be big help.
kind regards
rajeshHi,
-setup table filling:
The Data in setup table is used in Delta initialization and full upload. Actually data comes from OLTP tables to Setup table in filling of setup table
http://www.sap-img.com/business/questions-answers-on-sap-bw.htm
-RSA7
The delta queue is a data store in the source system into which data records are automatically written using an update process in the source system (such as with FI documents) or using extraction using a function module after a data request from the BW (such as LIS extraction prior to BW 2.0).
With a delta request, the data records are transferred from the Scheduler into BW.
The data is stored in compressed form in the delta queue. It can be requested from several BW systems. The delta queue is also repeat enabled. In other words, the delta queue stores data from the last extraction process. The repeat mode of the delta queue is specific to the target system.
With changes to the extract structure for a DataSource that took place between writing the data into the delta queue and reading of the queue data (for example with an upgrade), you can see from the data stored in the queue in which structure it was written to the delta queue. The queue monitor now contains fields that are now field that were not filled before and/or fields that were filled before but which are now unfilled.
You can use this function to check the delta queue.
-LBWE - for LO cokcpit customizing
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/u/21406 [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
-DELTA INITIALIZATION
It is to set up for loading further delta's. Without init delta you cannot schedule an Extraction . If you have initialized a delta , You can get delta reocrds from the succesive run in the delta Queue
-empty queue - Tcode LBWQ
This is the T code(LBWQ) to check the Extraction q in LO. We know that there are 4 types of delta extraction that are available in LO. If you use Queued Deltaupdate method then the data moves to Extraction queue(LBWQ). Then run Collective update to move the data from LBWQ into Delta Queue (RSA7). Then schedule the data using the infopackage by selecting Delta Load in the update tab.

check this out...
LBWQ - T code is for what?
please take time out and explain me the whole procedure via "queue delta update".
Queued Delta:
In case of Queued delta LUW's are posted to Extractor Queue (LBWQ), by scheduling the V3 job we move the documents from Extractor queue to Delta Queue(i.e. RSA7) and we extract the LUW's from Delta Queue to BW side by running Delta Loads. Generally we prefer Queued Delta as it maintain the Extractor Log which us to handle the LUW's which are missed.

Hope it helps

I guess some source has changed so the field in the form (binding to the not existing field) cannot be processed. Otto

Problem with checkboxes in IR report mainly for update process please help
Hello,
Can anyone please help me out with this issue.
I have an interactive report with 3 checkbox item for a single column named status. Based on the value of the column status the check box should be checked. For example:
DECODE(status,'DEV',1,0) as DEV,
DECODE(status,'RVW',1,0) as RVW,
DECODE(status,'PRD',1,0) as PROD,
So for this I have used the apex_item.checkbox item. Below is my report query
SELECT APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(30,0,'','f30_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(31,0,'','f31_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(01,ROWNUM,'','f01_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(04,CHF_DATASTORE||CHF_SCHEMA||CHF_TABLE||CHF_COLUMN,'','f04_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(05,CHF_STATUS,'','f05_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(06,CHF_STATUS,'','f06_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(08,CHF_STATUS,'','f08_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(09,CHF_STATUS,'','f09_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(11,CHF_STATUS,'','f11_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(12,CHF_STATUS,'','f12_' || ROWNUM)
|| APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX (32,ROWNUM,'onClick="javascript:ToggleValue(this,' || ROWNUM || ','||'''f30'');"'
,DECODE (0,1, ROWNUM),':','f32_' || ROWNUM) DELETE
,CHF_COLUMN
,CHF_STATUS
,APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX (07,ROWNUM,'onClick="javascript:ToggleValue(this,' || ROWNUM || ','||'''f05'');"',DECODE (CHF_STATUS,'DEV',ROWNUM),':','f07_' || ROWNUM)
DEV_EDIT
,APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX (10,ROWNUM,'onClick="javascript:ToggleValue(this,' || ROWNUM || ','||'''f08'');"',DECODE (CHF_STATUS,'RVW',ROWNUM),':','f10_' || ROWNUM)
RVW_EDIT
,APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX (13,ROWNUM,'onClick="javascript:ToggleValue(this,' || ROWNUM || ','||'''f11'');"',DECODE (CHF_STATUS,'PRD',ROWNUM),':','f13_' || ROWNUM)
PRD_EDIT
FROM CHF_COLUMN WHERE
CHF_DATASTORE = 'DOMAIN_DEV' AND
CHF_SCHEMA = 'SCHEMA_DEV' AND
CHF_TABLE = 'EMPLOYEEE'
ORDER BY 1; And I have a button for the update process so that the users can check the checkboxes option for the status column either 'DEV', 'RVW', 'PRD'. The status of the column can be in either of these states or can be null.
I have a update process, its having some problem - I don't understand whats causing the problem. Below is the error message which I encountered when trying to update.
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error

Edited by: orton607 on Aug 4, 2010 9:28 AMI could be wrong but maybe change the hidden items to be like:
APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(05,DECODE(CHF_STATUS,'DEV',1,0),'','f05_' || ROWNUM)
APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(08,DECODE(CHF_STATUS,'RVW',1,0),,'','f08_' || ROWNUM)
APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(11,DECODE(CHF_STATUS,'PRD',1,0),,'','f11_' || ROWNUM)so that the values are 0/1?
Also, you have
DECODE (CHF_STATUS,'DEV',ROWNUM)instead of
DECODE (CHF_STATUS,'DEV',0,1)in the checkboxes, as I would expect.
I'm also not sure why you need to duplicate the checkboxes (f07,f10,f13) as hidden items (f05, f08, f11) if they are both 0/1 values. -
