Custom widget triggers - or call widget functions

The title says it !
Take for example three scenarios:
1. We have a lightbox display with several slides. Each slide has interactive content like buttons. Some of the buttons will cause the lightbox to close but at the same time we need the close button. So, more than one close buttons.
2. We need to navigate between slides in a certain order, so on the first slide, we dont need the previous button although it will have to appear as soon as we move on. Likewise, the next button should be removed on the last slide.
3. After opening a slide in a lightbox we want a css animation to play. The css is created externaly, its put into assets and linked from an html object. But when and how would we call the animation to start? The css fires up as soon as stuff is loaded but we need it to play exactly after the slide is brought into view.
• So the question is clear: Is it possible to do those from inside muse, or we need to create custom widgets from scratch? Like with jquery maybe.
• Is there a way to alter the default muse scripts, or simply call widget functions from our buttons? Example: button calls lightbox.close() or lightbox.next(); etc...
I'm sorry if it has been asked before, i just couldn't find something the way i've searched it. Maybe I'm asking the wrong way but I believe its clear. Anyway, there is not need for muse to do everything, if someone has a workaround would be also welcome!
Thanks alot!

Hi Fabrice,
You should be able to use the cpCmndGotoSlide variable. I suspect that the problem is something with your path in Flash.
Can you post an excerpt of the code you use for your buttons in the Flash widget?

  • Urgent: No data while calling remote function in custom widget.

    Hi,
    I created a function module with transaction se37 and in its attributes checked the 'Remote Enabled' radiobutton.
    Now in my widget I called this remote function in my RFC view.
    The data is not displayed in the widget and in debug mode error is displayed :
    "Type error: data.root has no properties (RFCRequest .js: Line 102 )"
    what is the reason for the error ?
    or am I going wrong with remote function module call.

    I am getting error Error in calling up function 'BAPI_APOATP_CHECK' in APO server The current application triggered a termination
    when triggering for gatp.

    Hi Virender,
    This error can be experienced due to many reasons. based on my experience below reasons can cause this issue.
    1) If you are using allocation check if allocation is correctly set.
    2) In case you are using custom enhancements / user exits (in SD / GATP / CIF) check if any of them, causing this issue.
    In my case correction of allocation setup could resolve this issue, so check what is the reason in your case.

  • Click to Call Widget 8.0 Outlook Phone Numbers

    Hi,
    I have a customer who is using the Click to Call 8.0 Widget.
    They have contacts with the following numbers specified:
    Business
    Business 2
    Mobile
    Home
    The Business, Mobile and Home numbers show up when I click the "Click to Call" toolbar button but the Business 2 number does not.
    Is this a known limitation of the Click to Call widget? - if yes are there any workarounds?
    On a related topic the C2C plugin seems to cause Outlook to crash on a few PC's. I am using the latest version available from the Cisco download site (8.0.2540.0).
    This was released in July 2010. Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting Outlook crashes? - there seem to be some Engineering Special versions mentioned on here - would it be worth asking TAC about these?

    Hi James,
    With regard to the Outlook Crash issue, you may be hitting the bug CSCtl57395 which is superceded by
    CSCtj90662.
    .This bug is superceded  Though it is in "release pending" state, I could see a couple of customers being able to solve this issue with the latest ES published by TAC.
    I would suggest you to open up a case with Cisco TAC and let them verify if you are hitting this bug.
    Please rate helpful posts.

  • Calling a function from a custom component

    I got source files from another company that did a flex project for us before I started working here.  They have custom compenents (mxml files) that they are currently calling public functions in, but when I add a new public function to the mxml component, it won't allow me to call that function.  It tells me it can't access a property of a method of a null object reference... but it still calls the function that was there before I started working with the file..
    I cleaned the project, and did a "build all" but can't figure out why it won't allow me to create new public functions to call.... can anyone tell me why?

    I have the partsLocator_panel in the mxml
    not sure what "new" is with that... first time working with custom components, but it looks like your just working with custom classes in AS3...

  • Calling Remote Functions Locally Triggers any Database commit(Implicit)

    Hello,
    Am making use of RFC enabled function module as normal function module (Calling remote function module locally).
    My question is does it trigger any implicit database commit or not. Since synchronous RFC triggers database commit.

    Tenzin Choegyen

    I057200 wrote:

    Let me correct the statement both synchronous as well as asynchronous RFCs trigger an implicit DB commit.
    SAP documentation on synch-RFCs states:
    If the content of dest is equal to the constant space, then the addition DESTINATION is ignored and a normal call CALL FUNCTION func is executed.
    Please note that you should not use the DESTINATION addition or use DESTINATION space. DESTINATION none will start the FM as an RFC in the same app server.

  • I really hope there will a feature call "Container" or "Symbol Panel" widget in Panels of Widgets Lib!!!

    Hi everyone, I've used Adobe Muse for about 1 year so far, I love this design tool, but there was one expectation from my use prospective, I really hope there will a feature call "Container" widget in Panels of Widgets Lib other than those Widgets in Compositions or Slideshows, so that I could put all elements like shapes, buttons, text inside of it, once I setup the Container, I could set pin or scrolling effects on it, so I don't have to set features for each of all those single elements, which was too tedious. You know what I mean? or Come up a Symbol Creat idea like Edge Animate does, so I could package all minimum unit of elements, which will for sure increasing useability. I will definitely looking for this new feature added on in Muse in future. Thanks. my website http://www.ruiqiandesign.combuild with Adobe Muse.

  • How can a custom class call a function in "parent" class?

    Say I have an application (ultrasimplified):
    public class myApp {
    myClass mc;
    boolean foo=false;
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    mc = new myClass();
    public static void myFunc(boolean blah) {
    foo=blah;
    in a separate .java file where my questions lie:
    public class myClass {
    boolean bar=true;
    public void myClass() {
    // this is wrong, but how would I do this:
    foo = bar; // foo in myApp set to true
    // or how would I call "myFunc()" in myApp from this class:
    myFunc(bar);
    my problem is that I've created a new class that I share between two applications so I could share the code. However, I want this class I created to call a function in the application class that instanciated it. Or alternatively, I would like to set a variable in the class that instanciated myClass.
    How would go about this? I've used the "this" parameter in applets to pass the parent class to an inner class, but main() in applications doesn't allow the non-static "this":
    myClass my = new myClass(this);
    Is there something similar I can do?

    You can let MyApp implement an interface and refer to that object in MyClass:
    class MyApp implements Something {
    main() {
    MyApp app = new MyApp();
    MyClass mc = new MyClass(app);
    public void foo() { }
    class MyClass {
    Something app;
    MyClass(Something app) {
    this.app = app;
    app.foo();
    interface Something {
    public void foo();
    Better yet, you can let MyApp extend an abstract class that defines foo(). Then MyApp can override the foo() method. If later on, the abstract class needs to add a bar() method then default implementation can be done in the abstract class. If you make it an interface then all implementing classes will have to be updated to implement the new method.

  • CX_SY_NO_HANDLER triggered when call FM in Transformation Routine in BI

    Hi,
    Currently we are encountering an error whereby the Exception 'CX_SY_NO_HANDLER' will be triggered whenever we call a Function Module inside a Transformation Routine in BI.
    Previously, this FM was a Custom FM, but even after changing to a standard FM this error still happens.
    The process does not even enter into the FM, but immediately jumps to a 'Try - Catch' block of standard SAP, with the message "an exception (CX_SY_NO_HANDLER) occured".
    Hence, we need to confirm:
    does SAP/BI allow calling an FM inside a Transformation Routine?
    if yes to above, how do we avoid encountering this error when calling a FM inside a Transformation Routine.
    Your help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks you.

    Yes, you can call a FM from function module.
    Make sure your import and export parameters are of same type as defined in FM when passing values to FM from transformation.
    For example:
    in function module
    xyz type i.
    transformation
    abc type char.
    CALL FUNCTION 'dsjfh'
    EXPORT
    xyz = abc.

  • Calling a function through JDialog

    Hi all,
    The title might be a bit confusing, but the topic is about the following:
    I've got a JFrame as the main application. From the main application a JDialog gets called when you want to see more about an item in the JFrame.
    Because I want to collect all clicked information in the JDialog(so you can see what you've click before) I want to have the old JDialog with his current information + the new information at the moment you click on a other item.
    Example:
    JFrame mainFrame = The_CollectorApp.getApplication().getMainFrame();
    gameInfoBox = new The_CollectorCollectionDialog(mainFrame, tempGame, "game");
    gameInfoBox.setLocationRelativeTo(mainFrame);
    The_CollectorApp.getApplication().show(gameInfoBox);
    For opening a new JDialog with the game content. Now when you click on an other game, I want this gameInfoBox been showed (easy, just enter the last line only ), but I also want to pass the new Information to this JDialog.
    In the CollectionDialog.java is a function called AddItem(), so I want to call this function from the main when the JDialog has already been made.
    With a normal object gameInfoBox.addItem() would be enough, how to do this trick with this setup?

    Sounds like a bit of re-architecting might be in order. I haven't bothered deciphering your description of the flows, but the very fact that UI widgets are apparently trying to affect what other UI widgets are showing tells me you need something like MVC to keep things under control. Have a look into that pattern, MVC

  • Calling a function from another class - help!

    I realize that this is probably a basic thing for people who have been working with JavaFX for a while, but it is eluding me, and I have been working on it for over a week.
    I need to call a function that is in another class.  Here's the deal.  In EntryDisplayController.java, there are 2 possible passwords that can be accepted - one will give full access to the car, the second will limit functions on the car.  So when a password is entered and verified as to which one it is, I need to call a function in MainDisplayController.java to set a variable that will let the system know which password is being used - full or restricted.
    So in MainDisplayController.java I have this snippet to see
    public class MainDisplayController implements Initializable, ControlledScreen {
        ScreensController myController;
        public static char restrict;
         * Initializes the controller class.
        @Override
        public void initialize(URL url, ResourceBundle rb) {
            // TODO
        public void setRestriction(){
            restrict = 0;
            restrictLabel.setText("RESTRICTED");
        public void clearRestriction(){
            restrict = 1;
            restrictLabel.setText("");
    And in EntryScreenDisplay.java I have this snippet:
    public class EntryDisplayController implements Initializable, ControlledScreen {
         @FXML
        private Label passwordLabel ;
        static String password = new String();
        static String pwd = new String("");
         ScreensController myController;
         private MainDisplayController controller2;
         * Initializes the controller class.
        @Override
        public void initialize(URL url, ResourceBundle rb) {
            setPW(pwd);    // TODO
         @FXML
        private void goToMainDisplay(ActionEvent event){
            if(password.equals ("123456")){
              controller2.clearRestriction();
               myController.setScreen(ScreensFramework.MainDisplayID);
               pwd = "";
               password = "";
               setPW(pwd);
            else if(password.equals ("123457")){
               controller2.setRestriction();
                myController.setScreen(ScreensFramework.MainDisplayID);
               pwd = "";
               password = "";
               setPW(pwd);
            else{
                password = "";
                pwd = "";
                setPW(pwd);
    When I enter the restricted (or full) password, I get a long list of errors, ending with
    Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
      at velocesdisplay.EntryDisplayController.goToMainDisplay(EntryDisplayController.java:60)
    Line 60 is where "controller2.setRestriction(); is.
    As always, thanks for any help.
    Kind regards,
    David

    You never set the controller2 variable to anything, which is why you get a null pointer exception when you try to reference it.
    public static variables (and even singletons) are rarely a good idea as they introduce global state (sometimes they can be, but usually not).
    If a static recorder like this can only have a binary value, use a boolean, if it can have multiple values, use an enum.
    Some of the data sharing solutions in dependency injection - Passing Parameters JavaFX FXML - Stack Overflow might be more appropriate.
    I also created a small framework for roll based solutions in JavaFX which perhaps might be useful:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19666982/is-there-a-way-to-implement-a-property-like-rendered-on-javafx
    https://gist.github.com/jewelsea/7229260
    It was just something I hacked together, so it's not a fully polished solution and you probably don't need something quite so complex.
    What you need is a model class shared between the components of your application.  Dependency injection frameworks such as afterburner.fx can help achieve this in a fairly simple to use way.
    If you don't want to go with a dependency injection framework, then you could use either a static singleton model class for your settings or pass the model class using the mechanism in defined in the passing parameters link I provided.  For a model class example, see the ClickCounter class from this example.   That example doesn't use FXML, but to put it together with the passing parameters solution, for your restriction model, you would have something like the following:
       private class Restricted {
         private final ReadOnlyBooleanWrapper restricted;
         public Restricted(boolen isRestricted) {
           restricted = new ReadOnlyBooleanWrapper(isRestricted);
         public boolean isRestricted() {
           return restricted.get();
         public ReadOnlyBooleanProperty restrictedProperty() {
           return restricted.getReadOnlyProperty();
    Then in your EntryDisplayController you have:
    @FXML
    public void goToMainDisplay(ActionEvent event) {
         // determine the restriction model as per your original code...
         RestictionModel restrictionModel = new RestrictionModel(<appropriate value>);
      FXMLLoader loader = new FXMLLoader(
      getClass().getResource(
       "mainDisplay.fxml"
      Stage stage = new Stage(StageStyle.DECORATED);
      stage.setScene(
       new Scene(
         (Pane) loader.load()
      MainDisplayController controller =
        loader.<MainDisplayController>getController();
      controller.initRestrictionModel(restrictionModel);
      stage.show();
    class MainDisplayController() {
      @FXML private RestrictionModel restrictionModel;
      @FXML private RestrictLabel restrictLabel;
      public void initialize() {}
      // naming convention (if the restriction model should only be set once per controller, call the method init, otherwise call it set).
      public void initRestrictionModel(RestrictionModel restrictionModel) {
        this.restrictionModel = restrictionModel;
         // take some action based on the new restriction model, for example
        restrictLabel.textProperty.bind(
          restrictionModel.restrictedProperty().asString()
    If you have a centralized controller for your navigation and instantiation of your FXML (like in this small FXML navigation framework), then you can handle the setting of restrictions on new screens centrally within the framework at the point where it loads up FXML or navigates to a screen (it seems like you might already have something like this with your ScreensController class).
    If you do this kind of stuff a lot, then you would probably benefit from a move to a framework like afterburner.  If it is just a few times within your application, then perhaps something like the above outline will give you enough guidance to implement a custom solution.

  • Errors occurred during call of function module BUPR_EMPLO_DELETE

    when distributing employee data from (HCM) to (CRM) there is an error that appears in relation with the settings for the Business Parner:
    "Errors occurred during call of function module BUPR_EMPLO_DELETE
    Message no. R11335
    Diagnosis
    The business partner BAPIs were called up incorrectly. The indicator IV_X_SAVE was given differing settings when the modules were called.
    Within a LUW, the indicator must be consistently set or not set.
    System Response
    The indicator IV_X_SAVE should be set or not set once off. Up to COMMIT WORK the content of the field may not be changed, as problems will otherwise occur with the internal memory, thus leading to runtime errors."
    This prevents CRM to be updated with the changes. Kindly help me on the same.

    Hi Sai,
    This is too late to reply this post, but to let everyone know about the issue I am posting here.
    Start new UI session and put breakpoint at BUPR_EMPLO_DELETE and check parameter IV_X_SAVE everytime, till you get the error message. The parameter IV_X_SAVE should be same/consistent (either ' ' or 'X') in whole Logical Unit of Work. It should not change in between.
    I faced the same kind of problem and found that standard was passing IV_X_SAVE = ' ' and in our custom code we were passing IV_X_SAVE = 'X'. I changed it to IV_X_SAVE = ' ' and my problem got resolved.
    You can try the same. Please post the alternate solution if you find it.

  • Can we call a function module from a structure?

    Hi everyone,
    I have a requirement to send an idoc. I have to populate a segment with signing authority . I have to create a custom table for that and call the function module. How do i do that ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Venkat

    Hi!
    When you have an outbound IDOC, then there is a function module to create the IDOC and fill the segments. Often the function name follows the form MASTERIDOC_CREATE_NNN with NNN = IDOC-name.
    Inside this function module should be an user exit to add some own coding.

    Christian
