Customer Exit Variable CP Option

Hi,
we ha ve created a customer exit variable ZVAR_CP  (Detail Select Option, Optional) on Characteristic defined as a char (6)
The code to fill this variable is:
WHEN 'ZVAR_CP'.
        l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
        l_s_range-opt = 'CP'.
        l_s_range-low = 'F*'.
        APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
      ENDIF.
Executing the query with this variable we obtain this message: CP in variable 'ZVAR_CP' is not supported; characteristic is numeric, but in the system the characteristic  related to the variable IS NOT NUMERIC.
Any idea? We need to filter all master data value that begin with F. Why CP option give error?
Thanks,
Veronica

Hi,
I think your requirement is something to populate all values that start with 'F' into the variable selection.
In this case you will have to get your values into an internal table and then do something like below:
when 'ZVAR_CP'.
if i_step = 1.
*      populate the table IT_TABLE with your values
*      you can use a select statement with condition
*      (where field like 'F%') to get values equivalent to 'F*'
   Loop at IT_TABLE into WA_TABLE.
        l_s_range-SIGN = 'I'.
     l_s_range-OPT = 'EQ'.
        l_s_range-LOW = WA_TABLE-field.
     append l_s_range to e_t_range.
   Endloop.
endif.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Joe

  • Customer Exit variable and Filter routine in DTP does not works?

    Hello Experts,
Does anyone know what might be the possible reason - A customer exit variable working fine on the OLAP side does not work in a DTP??
I have also tried to use the Filter routine, which does not give me the right results..I am trying to fetch a Fiscalyear period maintained in an infoObject as follows in my Filter routine..
    ata: sel_period like /BIC/PZPARAM-/BIC/ZPARAMVAL.
    DATA: zperiod type /BI0/OIFISCPER.
              SELECT SINGLE /BIC/ZPARAMVAL INTO sel_period
              FROM /BIC/PZPARAM
              WHERE /BIC/ZPARAM = 'ZPCA'
              AND objvers = 'A'.
              zperiod = sel_period.
    data: l_idx like sy-tabix.
              read table l_t_range with key
                   fieldname = 'FISCPER'.
              l_idx = sy-tabix.
              l_t_range-iobjnm = '0FISCPER'.
              l_t_range-fieldname = 'FISCPER'.
              l_t_range-sign = 'I'.
              l_t_range-option = 'EQ'.
              l_t_range-low = zperiod.
              if l_idx <> 0.
                modify l_t_range index l_idx.
              else.
                append l_t_range.
              endif.
              p_subrc = 0.
Please let me know if I am making any mistakes above..
    Kind Regards,
    Kadriks

    Hi
    1.  CLEAR l_t_range-high. is missing in your code befor assigning values to l_t_range.
    2. use simple append l_t_range after the l_t_range asisgnments. remove below code :
    if l_idx 0.
    modify l_t_range index l_idx.
    else.
    append l_t_range.
    endif.
    p_subrc = 0.
    3. I dont think you need to assign infoobject.
    4. Clear sel_period and zperiod is also missing
Hence your code should be  :
    data: l_idx like sy-tabix.
    read table l_t_range with key
    fieldname = 'FISCPER'.
    CLEAR l_t_range-high.
    l_idx = sy-tabix.
    l_t_range-fieldname = 'FISCPER'.
    l_t_range-sign = 'I'.
    l_t_range-option = 'EQ'.
    l_t_range-low = zperiod.
    append l_t_range .

  • Customer Exit Variable in BEx

    Hi,
I have defined a query with a Structure in Row and Key Figures in column.
The result of query should look like this:
Fiscal/Year Period | Quantity per month | Quantity cumulative
    011.2010 (Variable Offset Value -3) | 5 | 5
    012.2010 (Variable Offset Value -2) | 6 | 11
    001.2011 (Variable Offset Value -1) | 7 | 7
    002.2011 (Variable Singel Value, Manual Input) | 8 | 15
"Quantity cumulative" is defined as follows:
    Quantity cumulative (002.2011) = Quantity 001.2011 + Quantity 002.2011
    Quantity cumulative (001.2011) = Quantity 001.2011
    Quantity cumulative (012.2010) = Quantity 011.2010 + Quantity 012.2010
    Quantity cumulative (011.2010) = Quantity 011.2010
"Fiscal/Year Period" and "Quantity per month" are OK. But I have problem to define the key figrue "Quantity cumulative".
I have defined a Customer Exit Variable on Reference Characteristic "Fiscal/Year Period". The Quantity cumulative (002.2011)
and Quantity cumulative (001.2011) are calculated correct. But it doesn't work for 012.2010 and 011.2010 (because of previous year).
I would be helpful if you can give some hints.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Create a formula "Cumulative Quantity" and add only "Quantity per Month" in the formula. Go to formula properties, Calculations tab, check the Cumulated option.
This works for different years as well.

  • Using Formula Variable in Customer Exit variable

    Hi,
I want to assign valuees of 2 Formula Variables to one cstomer exit variable based on some Characteristic.
Example. Formula variables are Early and Late. If Early = 3 and Late = 4 , I want to pass value to the Customer Exit variable as Low = 3 and High = 4.
The problem is in I_T_VAR_RANGE there is no value for formula variable in LOW field.
Other variables based on Characteristics have values in this field.
What can I do in this case?
    Regards
    SSS

    SSS,
You can restrict your characteristic with two variables in the value range options of restricting.
One can be used as low and the other can be high.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks.

  • Customer exit variable with exclusion

Hello all, anyone know why a customer exit variable cannot exclude values ?
I've tried with multiple, single and interval without success (it give me a generic error in the customer exit for my variable).
Only the "selection option" mode seems to be enabled to exclude values (also in debug mode with rsrt transaction).
Unfortunately, I cannot use selection option (because this exclusion is an integration of pre-existence selection on a complex structure).
We have SAP BW 3.1C, with SP16. I've looked for sap notes but nothing about this problem (may be a limit).

Now I post my code. The variable is a "Multiple Single Values", optional, not "Ready for Input".
    This is my code.
      DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RANGESID.
      If I_STEP = 2.
        CASE I_VNAM.
         WHEN 'ZXXXXX'.
            clear l_s_range.
            l_s_range-sign = 'E'.
            l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
            l_s_range-low = 'xxxxxxx'.
            append l_s_range to e_t_range.
        ENDCASE.
      ENDIF.
The query raise an error (generic error on customer exit).
I've debugged the code. Error has raised from plausibility_check on RRS_VAR_VALUES_EXIT_AFTER. The following is the code that raise the error.
            CASE i_vparsel.
              WHEN   rro04_c_vparsel-param
                  OR rro04_c_vparsel-<b>multiple</b>
                  OR rro04_c_vparsel-table.
                IF     <l_s_range>-sign <> rs_c_range_sign-<b>including</b>
                    OR <l_s_range>-opt  <> rs_c_range_opt-<b>equal</b>.
                  PERFORM raise USING rs_c_false g_c_ue_invalid_range
                                      i_vnam space space space.
                ENDIF.
From this code, it seems that with multiple selection we only have sign including and option equal.
What do you think about ?

  • How to use customer exit variable in the report

    Dear All,
i want to use a standard customer exit variable in the report properties.
In the Bex Query Designer right hand bottom you will find two buttons "Properties" and "Task". Click on task you will get different option. Choose properties from there and then select "variable sequence tab".
I need to add a standard variable there. How can i achieve it?
    Appreciate your early help.

You need to add variable to corresponding charctertic then you can get that varaible for sorting the sequence....
If 0CUST is the varaible then you need to assign it 0CUSTOMER then 0CUST will be available for the sequence.

  • Behavior of customer exit variables (used as prompt) in a workbook

    Hi All,
We are on NW2004s. I am using a customer exit variable in the prompt for my query then saved the query as a workbook.
    1. When I run the query the customer exit routine/program is called and the selection screen variable is populated with the correct value.
Ex. Calendar year variable is a prompt variable defined as customer exit variable that gets the current year.
when you run the query the prompt for calendar year shows "2007" as default value. this is correct.
    2. when I run the workbook using this same query, it looks like it is not executing the customer exit program. The value in the calendar year prompt is whatever the last value used when the workbook was last ran.
I also placed a breakpoint in the customer exit program (EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001) to check if it is being called and it looks like it isn't.
Is there a configuration/property that I should enable/check to make sure that customer exit variables used as prompts works in workbooks? Is this a bug? Anybody else have issues with using customer exit variables as prompts in their workbooks?
    Thanks in advance,
    Malou

    Hello Marilou,
See the abswer I got from the 1st response on my question
Save and reuse variable option in 7.0
It may be a good help.
Variables seem to be an understated item in the documents.

  • Query Drilldown does not Invoke Customer Exit Variables

We have a problem with performing a drilldown in a BEx Analyzer reprot, basically the client is a Trading company and they have inter company trading. We are using the Profit Centre as one of thre u201CFree Characteristicsu201D in the query and hence we are able to drilldown on a Characterictc by Profit Centre.
We are using a couple of BEx query variables (Customer Exit variables) to determine the inter-area and extrenal area profit centres and these profit centres will be different based on the level of Hieracry node selected when the query is initially executed. For example if we assume a hierarchy with has one root node, 3 children under the root node and 2 grand-children under each of the 3 child nodes, now if we are at the root Node of the Hierarchy then every profit centre is internal and there are no external profit centres,  similarly if we are at the 2nd node (i.e. one of the child nodes) then everything under that node is internal and everything in the other 2 child nodes is external and so on.
This is where the issue starts for us, since on the report if we select the the node we want to see the results for at the query rumtime (i.e. the Customer Exit Variables are invoked at I_STEP=2 and they select the other nodes of the hierarcy if any and group them into either external or internal)  then the results are correct. Now if we were to drilldown, i.e. We selected the root node and we drilldown on to see for example of the child nodes then the result are not correct, this becomes apparent when we drilldown further to the grand-child nodes.
One logical explaination is that when we are doing the drilldowns the customer exit variables are not being invoked in the BEx analyzer report and hence they are not grouping the sums for the internal and external profit centres relevent to node selected in the Drill down.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding how to make this query work properly or show the correct results in BEx Analyzer (ideally), I have considered the Workbooks option but the client does not want Workbooks.
Please let me know if there is a program etc we can customise to ensure that the Customer Exit variables logic is used when the user does a drilldown in the query or any other way to make it work.
    Many Thanks
    Jack

    Hi
Just to aid anyone who is thinking what to do in a similar situation, I am aware that RRI or using workbooks are a couple of good alternatives (just that these are currently not being considered by the client, hence I am asking here).. Also, if someone has Business Objects WEBI then we can satisfy the requirement by creating a new Webi Report for each of the nodes and displaying it (similar to Workbooks but much nicer and faster) or we can get the Webi to execute the variables again during the drilldown... Unfortunately the client is not using Webi either... So the solution has to be in BEx Analyzer / Query designer based...
If you have any thoughts on how I might be able to do what I want to do then please feel free, I am quite confident that I am not the 1st person to come accross this issue and someone somewhere has solved this issue.
    Thanks

  • Text Variable replace with Customer Exit Variable

    Dear Experts,
I created a text variable based on replacementh path (instead of customer exit). The reference characteristic is same that as my customer exit Variable and replace it by Key.
I want to replace it with already Existing Customer Exit Variable but it is not displaying in the List Box even though existing variable option is mandatory.
Can any one Suggest me the answer for this.
    Regards
    Supraja.K

I do not think you can select Customer Exit variable, if you see the type is selected to Char Value Variables and it is not editable.
It would be suggested to go for Customer Exit procesing type for your text variable.
    Cheers,
    Neel.

  • Authorization with customer exit variable (CP, BT, EQ)

    Hi SDN-Experts,
I have a question concerning the new authorization concept.
I created an authorization for 0COSTCENTER which also contains the 3 special characters 0TCAACTVT, 0TCAIPROV and 0TCAVALID. I inserted a customer exit variable for 0COSTCENTER. The exit reads datasets from a db table which contains authorizations for the actual user. The authorizations have different formats, e.g. "1000", "1000;1200", "25*" etc.
The internal table e_t_range is filled as followed in the exit:
      i   eq   1000
      i   bt   1000   1200
      i   cp   25*
This does not work. It works if I only use "eq" OR "cp". But not both at the same time.
How can I achieve to use the different authorizations in the db table for the bi authorization?
    Thanks in advance...
    Joerg

    Hi Olivier.
Yes, the variable is defined as selection option and I did also try to use "EQ" instead of "CP".
I tested again with another variable which is "ready for input" and is not used in an authorization. The Variable is filled in the customer exit. This is the code:
    WHEN 'ZJGR_COSTCTR_TEST'.
      l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
      l_s_range-opt  = 'BT'.
      l_s_range-low = '0000001000'.
      l_s_range-high = '0000001200'.
      APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
      l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
      l_s_range-opt  = 'CP'.
      l_s_range-low = '0000002*'.
      APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
The result in the variable screen in BEx Analyzer is the following:
    1000 - 1200;0000002*;
And it still does not work. It seems that you could not mix EQ, BT and CP. But this is exactly what I have to do with the authorization variable...
Do you have any other tipps that I might try out?
    Thanks,
    Joerg

  • Crystal Reports with BEx Query using Custom Exit Variable

    Hi,
We have BW BEx Query using Customer User Exit variable to derive  the Fiscal Week for Last Year (called it VAR2) based on another user input variable Current Fiscal Week (called it VAR1).
VAR2 is derived from VAR1 in CMOD via some codings and thus it DOES NOT have the "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx. VAR1 is user input variable, so it has "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx.
When we create a Crystal Reports with the BEx Query using variable VAR2, and when we run it we got an error message saying "Failed to execute query; '[]<java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No Selection State Support!ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK>'. Redesign your query or contact the data source maintainer to solve the problem".  (note: ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK is VAR2 in this case).
Could anyone please assist? Surely, CR supports BEx customer user exit variables like the above, right?. I also refer to the forum below as it seems to have a similar issue (except mine with an error message), but it does not provide a solution in it.

    Hi Vibhav,
We have the SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise XI4.0 Version 14.0.0. Not sure if SP0 or other SP, got to check with Basis Team later.
We tried that "mandatory" option and did not work either.
Anyway, SAP has now come back again saying it is something they will fix it in next release/version. We got a phone call from them and a reply below to our OSS.

  • Query - Replacement Path for a Customer Exit Variable

    Hi
New to the field and the board.  Any and All help is greatly appreciated.
I have created a query which runs based on a date selection. The query have few customer exit variables whose values are set in ABAP. All Key Figures in the query are brought depending on the date ranges that each of the CE returns. Ex - one column is sales for first 10 days, 2nd for second 10 days, 3rd for first quarter, 4th for 2nd quarter and such.  There are about 20 - 25 columns with KF in the query and all are Customer Exit date driven.
The challenge:- Each column heading should have the name of the month. I tried using Replacement Path. But it works when the selection is based on a constant value but not on value based on variable which is a customer exit. Ex - If I say restrict Cal/Month for July 2013, the replacement path for the Col Heading works fine. But if I say restrict Cal/Month for "ZVAR_SecondQtr_First_Month" the replacement path doesn't work.
    Help Please
    Thanks
    Vidya

In the text variable that you are using , i guess you have a replacement path. In this instead of using your characteristic for specifying how the value has to replace, use the variable option and give the variable name there

  • Customer exit variables

    Hello,
I have created two customer exit variables, although I'm not an ABAP expert. Both are calculated based on two optional variables selected by the user.
When running my query I get the message "Warning Value '' is too long for variable ZPERSTRT". I suppose that really means the value is empty while a value was expected. The type of this variable is 0DATE.
I try checking the code to examine how the value can be empty, and that results in a few questions some of you probably can answer.
Unfortunately, for complex reasons I have to program the customer exit variables in the development system, while testing them in the test system where I don't have access to the ABAP editor.
    QUESTION 1
When finding the values of the other variables, I must be prepared to find them without a value. How can I know if they have a value or not? I've tried with the following code, which I suspect is not working quite as expected:
          LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range
            WHERE vnam = 'ZCALWINT'.
            IF loc_var_range-low <> ''.
              l_week0 = loc_var_range-low.
              l_flag = 1.
            ENDIF.
          ENDLOOP.
I later use l_flag to check if a value was found or not.
    QUESTION 2
How is type conversion done in a statement like
    date = string + 1
If string has the value "20071031", will 1 be added as a string (resulting in "200710311" which is then somehow converted to a date), like a number (resulting in "20071032" which is then somehow converted to a date) or like a date (resulting in "20071101")?
    QUESTION 3
More type conversion. Would it be ok to concatenate year, month and day into a date variable, or should I always concatenate into a string which can then be converted to a date afterwards?
    QUESTION 4
If the variable I want to read has an interval and not only a single value, is the only way to see this by checking the -high value? If this one has a value it is an interval, if not it is a single value? Or can I be sure the -opt value will be 'BT' if it's an interval?
    Thanks and regards,
    Christoffer

    Anyone?
I'll award 10 points to the best overall answer and 6 points to answers which are first or best on one of the four questions.
    Regards,
    Christoffer

  • Custome Exit Variable Not prepopulating Parameter of CRE Report

    Hi
I am using a customer exit varibale to pre populate a parameter in a Bex query I have created.  When I run the bex query the customer exit variable populates the parameter just as it is supposed to.  However when I use the bex query in Crystal Reports for enterprise the customer exit variable does not pre populate the parameter.  Is there something I need to do to make sure that CRE recognises the customer exit variable or does CRE not recognises them?  If it doesn't recognise them is it possible to create CRE level Customer Exit Variable?
    Many Thanks in advance
    Neil

    Hi Alun
Thanks but I'm in BW so Stored procedures are not really an option on this one.  I suppose my primary question is, is there a reason that Customer Exit Variable is not working as it is creating a lot of difficulties by not populating the parameters in the same way it does in the bex query I am using to develop my Crystal report.
    Thanks
    Neil
