Customize Embedded OAF region in WF notification email

Hi All,
I have a requirement as below:
There is a notification email that has an embedded OAF region. All this is oracle seeded. This region has many other regions like
MainRegion
-- Region1
-- Region2
-- Region3
Now I would like to not show Region2 in the emails. How do we do this.
I tried to personlize the region and make the Rendered property to false for region2. This is working fine if I see the notification from the Oracle Applications Self-service login.
But the email(which comes to say yahoo mail) which has this as embedded region still shows all the regions(including Region2 which I had set not to render through personalization).
Is there a way to achieve this. If so, any pointers.
Thanks,
Anand

Hi Anand.
Thank you for replying. We have 2 notification changes that we would like to implement, OIE Expense Report Approval notification and Requisition Approval notification. On both notifications, we would like to display 2 segments of the GL code associated to the line - cost center and business unit. As I mentioned in my previuos email, I was able to add those columns in both notifications by extending the VO (OAF), then doing personalization. However, we can only see those columns displayed when we are viewing the notification from the worklist, that is within Oracle Applications. The notification that comes through the email does not show those columns we've added. What other area should we be changing to make those columns display on the email notification? How come the new columns show on the notifications in the worklist, but not in the email?

  • URL attributes not rendered on WF notification with embedded OAF Regions

I am customizing a notification which has embedded OAF regions. I need to put a URL in the message, for which I have created an item attribute of type URL, hardcoded this to a random URL for now, and pulled this down as a message attribute as well. I then put the message attribute in the HTML body as &URL_NAME after the framework regions. This, however, did not work. What happens is that in the notification, the URL message attribute is not token subsitute and instead of the URL link, plain text is rendered as URL_NAME. Also, I get a warning message at the top of the notification:
Attribute URL_NAME does not refer to a framework region
If I put the URL as the first attribute in the message body, then the URL is rendered correctly, and all the framework region attributes are rendered as text. It almost seems as if the message body can either have framework regions or message attribute tokens.
    Any inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I having a similar issue with the Expenses workflow. I have done the following
    Steps:
    1. Create custom OAF shared region
    2. Create form function XX_APPROVERS where WEB HTML is OA.jsp?page=/xx/oracle/apps/per/ame/dynamicapprovals/webui/xxApproversRN
    3. Create WF attribute XX_APPROVERS_HIERARCHY with value as JSP:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=XX_APPROVERS.
    4. Copied WF attribute to messsage and added &XX_APPROVERS_HIERARCHY to message body:
    &OIE_APEXP_BODY
    WF_NOTIFICATION(HISTORY)
    *&XX_APPROVAL_HIERARCHY*
For NEW expense reports/workflows , the notification is fine and the custom region is displayed. However, for workflows already in process the following WARNING is displayed:
Attribute XX_APPROVERS_HIERARCHY does not refer to a framework region.
In the notification body the attibute name is also displayed.
This does not prevent the person responding to the notifications. How can I prevent this warning and why does the change affect workflows already in process ?
    Thanks

  • How to customize SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow notification emails

We have a SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow that sends emails when certain criteria are met. We have tried to customize the emails using SharePoint Designer, but the emails that are received are different.
Ho do we configure SharePoint to send the emails formatted as we specified in the workflow?
The emails we receive are all formatted like this:
    Subject:
[Company Name Workflow] - [Item] has been assigned to you
    Content:
Task assigned by [User Name] on [Date].
    To complete this task:
    1.    Review [Item].
    2.    Perform the specific activities required for this task.
    3.    Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it. Click here to request access.)

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to customize SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow notification emails.
We’ll need to do a few things to replace SharePoint’s default notification with our own. The first thing we need to do is turn off SharePoint’s default notification. On the Workflow Tasks list, go the Advanced Settings and select
No for Send e-mail when ownership is assigned. Then we need to create workflow to send email.
There is an article for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2007, it still works for SharePoint 2013.

  • Newly added OAF region is shown in Worklist but not appearing in Email...

    Hi,
We have a very serious issue in our applications. We have customized Requisition Approval workflow and in the Requisition approval notificaiton, added one extra OA Framework region attribute. The region fetches some value from a custom table and renders it. This region is perfectly alright when seen from the worklist. But the email that is sent for the same notification, the region is not appearing !
We have checked a lot but unable to find what we are missing here. If it is a problem with the region, then it shouldn't appear in worklist too. The strange thing is that this was working (region was appearing in email) in one instance. When the same code were moved to another instance, it is not working (region is shown only in worklist). Please help me as this is very urgent for us.
    Thanks,
    Arun

OK, there is other way to check.
    1) Take the notification framework region URL from the Workflow Mailer log ( log should be STATEMENT level)
    2) and copy / paste same URL in a web Browser ( you may login as SYSADMIN user)
    3) and see if newly added region comes?
Just check if you bounced the iAS after apply the changes on that instance.

  • Customize Notification Email

    Hello,
The notification email is typically printed and used. Can the format of the email be modified? The email has a graphic on it -- can it be removed?
Can a custom notification email be used?
    Thanks.
    --Rich Ota

    Hi;
The only customization available is on the "Notifications" section of the Options tab allowing you to change the Subject and Message and define whether you want the data and blank fields included.  Any other graphics etc added to the Notification email cannot be changed.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Text missing from user notification email

I set up a form and embedded it on our web site. For every completed form I received an email containing all the text submitted.
The users also received a notification email, but some of the text was missing from the responses. It appears that only the text that was visible in the box on the screen gets sent to the user.
    Is this a known bug?
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
This is the first time we've heard about something like this. I'd like to investigate. Would it be possible for you to forward a copy of an email sent to you as well as the corresponding email sent to the user? Also, if you could include the URL to your form that would also help.
You can email me directly at [email protected]

  • Wrong DATE-TIME FORMAT among REPORTS NOTIFICATION EMAILs

    Dear all,

Email notification was generated with wrong date format .
It's expected to be in UK English but it shows encoded text , may be random. I route it to another email servers such that find the date time is in chinese characters . That caused problem on original email server in which was not supported
Could any expert please advice ?

    It's indeed an expected behavior.
When a Reports Server starts on a Windows machine, it likely detect the Windows Regional Settings in order to use it when needed later. This let the Reports Server communicate in the same format/way the Server machine uses. For example, if the System / Application Server administrator prefers to use the Windows (on which the Application Server is installed) with Chinese Regional Options, it is normal that the Reports Server send the Notification Email with a "Date/Time" Format matches the Windows.
Thence, you like to get English/Western Date and Time format in the Reports Server Notification Email, it is required to change the Windows Regional Settings from Chinese to English and restart the Reports Server and restart the corresponding compoent. This will let the Reports Server detect the change and will send the Notification Email(s) then with English/Western Date and Time formats.
If English/Western Date and Time format in the Reports Server Notification Email but still have the Windows Regional Settings set to Chinese, you can implement it
    that :-
    1. Change the Windows Regional Settings from Chinese to English.
    2. Restart the Reports Server and restart others.
    3. Change the Windows Regional Settings back from English to Chinese. .
With these 3 steps, the Reports Server will keep sending the Notification Emails with English/Western Date and Time format, and maintain original settings.

  • Modifying subject line on each Notification email

I'm using Adobe forms to create work orders for our internal studio. When we submit a work order, it sends a notification to the appropriate party which is great. however it always defaults to the generic subject line which we have as "work order request" right now. It makes it difficult to track the requests in email with all of the requests having that same generic subject line. Does anyone know if there is a way to modify the subject line of the notification email on a job by job basis, so we could put the job number in each individual notification? Thanks.

    Hi,
Yes, you can modify the generic subject line of the notification emails.
Click on Options- Email notifications- Customize the subject line as per your choice.

    Hi,
To confirm that the patches are resp, can you check the file modified dates POXVCOMS.pls and POXVCOMB.pls? (To know the path on the box run diagnostic apps check for PO module and look for these file names).
If they match with the patch application dates, then you might have to open a SR and get the fix from Oracle
