Customize the layout set used when opening a folder in search result list?

Hi,
I have created a search result iView that uses a predefined search query to show a list of folders. If I click on a folder <i>(rnd:displayname(contentLink)</i>) its content is displayed in a new window. Here the layout set Consumer Explorer (default profile?) is used.
I want to use a custom layout set in this window. How can I achieve this?
Regards,
Mario

Hi Mario,
here the answers:

You can either check the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/Implementing%20Flexible%20UI%20One-Step-Screenflow.article">Implementing Flexible UI One-Step-Screenflow</a> tutorial by Thilo Brandt or search here on SDN for "UI Command implementation" examples.

Normally, as you can see in the above mentioned <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/25/59bb2eece725498427334e0e21b80c/content.htm">Priority of Settings</a>, whenever the KM Navigation component (com.sap.km.cm.navigation) is opened without a specific layout set the global default layout set is used. As you can give this parameters by different ways (as URL parameter, in the KM Navigation iView configuration, via OTH file definition, hardcoded or configured in the configuration of an UI Command, etc.) it is nearly impossible to find <b>all</b> situation where your users will get this default profile.
The UI Commands (with selection) you mentioned like "copy","move","create_link" use the configured LayoutSet (ConsumerOnlyFolderSelector) from the KM Configuration (of the command).
> <i>3. You can also create a Layout Profile and go to

One idea would be to use the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/0f/764b87dfb948fcb13fd7695e157892/content.htm">Multiple Property Replacement</a> feature by SAP.

Of course. One other possibility I have in mind is to work with OTH files. You might also search here on SDN to see how to use them for setting the layout set for specific folder paths.
Hope this helps,
Robert

    Back up all data now.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote it back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

  • What is the logic for the behavior of LV9 when opening vi references?

I recently started using LV 9 and I can't figure out what the rationale is for the LV 9 behavior when opening references to vis. The way I understand it, LV9 looks up vis using the absolute path on the disk where they came from when opening references, even if they are in memory. If just a vi name is given, LV9 tacks on the path of the referring vi on disk when trying to open the reference. So, as far as I can see, either an application opening references to vis needs to specify absolute paths to the location on disk and be modified whenever a dynamically called vi's location on disk is changed, or a dynamically called vi has to be saved in the same directory as the vi doing the calling or in a rigid and inflexible directory structure.
    Example:
I am trying to use a 3rd party library whose vis open a reference to a vi that I create, the name of which is obtained from those in memory using a name pattern. The library vis get the name of the vi I created and try to open a reference to it. Previously this worked because LV looked in memory for "my.vi" when opening the reference but this fails with LV9 because it apparently looks for, e.g., "D:\VI\3rdparty.llb\my.vi", not "my.vi". So, as far as I can see, I have to save my.vi in 3rdparty.llb in order to use it. And, if I want to use 3rdparty.llb in another application, I have to save other vis to 3rdparty.llb or create a new copy elsewhere and save to that copy for the new application. A similar situation would occur if I passed the name of my vi to the 3rdparty.llb vis - either I would need to pass an absolute path and modify my application if I ever want to move my.vi, or save it in 3rdparty.llb.
    Another example:
I have a large application built into an executable that calls up to ca. 60 vis  using references.  Previously I could just specify the path to the executable, and I could easily open references to my vis. Now  (if I try to use the LV 9 file structure), I can't figure out the paths I need to open references. Either I have to specify the absolute path to the original location in my development directories, or I have to store all my source vis in some particular directory structure. If I want to reuse my vis in other applications (which I do) things would get pretty complicated. Likewise if I want to optionally open references in other vis than my top level vi (which I do), it seems well nigh impossible.
Basically I am struggling with the concept that an application remembers the directory structure where the source files were located, and/or depends on a particular directory structure of the source files to work. Maybe I'm missing some tricks that would make things easier, but someone will have to explain to me why these are good things.

I appreciate the responses and explanations. I've certainly learned
some things. I have extensive experience using LV but over a fairly
    narrow set of
applications so I'm certainly not aware of many of the possible
techniques.  I clearly don't use LV in the same way as what appears to
be the mainstream for LV programmers.
    I have some additional
    comments on the various responses:
    "But
with VI libraries and LVOOP this had the problem that multiple VIs could
end up with the same name..."
I'm not clear what this means exactly. My first response would be
that it doesn't seem like a good idea in general to use different
portions of code with the same name in a single application. I'm
surprised this is even possible.  I don't think LV will even let me
build from a project in which it finds name conflicts for vis.
"In addition to what Rolf wrote, it should be
pointed out that LV should NOT be looking for files if you built your
app correctly. Each VI maintains a relative path to all VI it calls and
it should know exactly where to find them (assuming they're there).
I think this illustrates one thing I was talking about. The
assumption appears to be that the organization of your source files is
an essential ingredient in the application that is built, which is a
foreign concept to me. My project file knows where all my vis are, the
applications build correctly, and, using the 8.x and previous file
structure for my exe, they work, and have for some time.  As far as I'm
concerned the main point of using a project that identifies my source
files is to be able to pull in code from different places - if I want to
use a different version of one of my dynamically called subvis, from a
different location, for example, I tell the project file to use the new
version and rebuild.  In your scenario, as I understand it, I'm not sure
why a project file in which you identify source files is even needed,
if LV already knows everything about the components of the application
you're building.  As I mentioned, my primary application uses ca. 60
dynamically called vis. Most of these control different subsystems of a
large distributed hardware control and data acquisition system. All of
these are used sometimes when the application is used, but pretty much
never all of them at once - typically something like 10-30 of the
user-interactive vis are run at once. There is some communication
between them using globals, queues, and semaphores and such, but for the
most part they are independent and I test them separately. Until the
application is built and used, there is no need to run the entire
application  including all subvis, and I never do it. When I build my
application, the app builder finds all the vis I specify and constructs
the exe file including all the vis I've told it about. Before LV 9 it
never occurred to me that I might actually have to worry about being
able to find vis inside the executable.
"However as tst has mentioned having an
executable search for VIs is a VERY VERY bad idea as it can break your
entire app if it happens to find the wrong VI at some point."
I don't really follow this point at all. Where are these vis
masquerading as the ones I want that will break my application? The only
vis on the machines where my applications are used are there because I
put them there inside the executables. I certainly would never use
different vis with the same name in an application - as I said above, I
don't even know if it is possible, and don't want to find out.  Search
paths to find components like shared libraries are a common thing. It
doesn 't seem like a stretch for the run-time environment to define a
default search path like "somewhere in the exe file containing the
    application".
I don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill here, as I said
before, I am happy as long as NI supports the 8.x file structure, but if
nothing else I have definitely learned to appreciate how different
executables built w/ labview are from executables  constructed in other
    systems.

  • How to stop the executable from starting when opened

    Hi Guys,
I am building an exe with the application builder. I am not able to find a way to stop the exe from running when opened. I dont need the exe to run. I know I m missing a very basic step here but I m not able to do that.
Could anyone explain me how to do this.
    Regards,
    Nitin

    Hello,
This is Dominic L. from Applications Engineering at National Instruments. This was reported to R&D (CAR#41DAPUQU) and was fixed in LabVIEW 8.2.1. Here is a link to the current evaluation software download for LabVIEW:
    http://digital.ni.com/demo.nsf/websearch/14f9ce475127ade786256ac60070926c?opendocument
This particular bug actually renders all the build options for source file settings unusable. While the other options can be set manually in the source VI properties, the start-up VI will always run when an executable is opened.
Here are three different workarounds to this:
    Option 1 - Upgrade to 8.2.1.
Option 2 - Check "Enable debugging" and "Wait for debugger on launch" in the Advanced page of the build specification. One side effect is this will include the block diagrams of the VIs and extra code for debug tool support. Note that if you don't protect the source code (block diagram), it kind of defeats the purpose of creating an executable.
Option 3 - Use a dummy startup VI to launch the desired startup VI.
For the third workaround, the attached "Dummy Startup VI.vi" uses VI server to open the desired startup VI's front panel and then closes.  To use the Dummy Startup VI follow these steps:
Add the Dummy Startup VI to the project.
Open the Dummy Startup VI and change "Main VI.vi" to the VI you would like to open but not run in the project and save.
In the source files page of the build, select the Dummy Startup VI as a startup VI and the VI you would like to open but not run as a support VI.
    Build and run.
    I hope this helps.
    Have a great evening!
    Best Regards,
    Dominic L.

  • How to back up the layout sets?

    plzzzzzzzz answer my question,
how to back up the layout sets?

    hi use
RSTXSCRP to upload into application server
SAPscript Export to Dataset / SAPscript Import from Dataset
    Description
Report RSTXSCRP allows SAPscript objects (standard texts, styles, forms) or device types to be transported between R/3 and a local or central file.
Note: Texts, styles, and forms are client-specific! For export they are always read from the current client and for import they are always read to the current client. Device types are not client-specific so the current client is not significant in the export/import of printer definitions.
Important note: For language-dependent objects (that is, texts, styles, and forms) only those languages (or translations, foreign languages) are imported in the target system which are contained in the system's "language vector". This is the profile parameter "zcsa/installed_languages" of the application server. The report parameter "language vector" allows you to replace the standard language vector with your own vector when it is called.
The transport log of RSTXSCRP outputs the language vector used for the export or import. If objects cannot be exported or imported because their language is not contained in the language vector of the source or target system, a corresponding message appears in the transport log.
    Requirements
Styles and forms are made up of maintenance versions and active versions as well as foreign language versions (translations). When a style/form is exported only the active version of the style/form is exported. Maintenance versions are not transported. All existing translations of a style/form are also transported if their language is contained in the language vector.
If a style/form is flagged as "Translation not applicable", only its original language will be exported. Importing a style or form such as this, which is not to be translated, automatically deletes any existing translations in the target system.
In the case of text objects RSTXSCRP can transfer only standard texts (with text object key = TEXT) with text ID = ST and language key = logon language to or from the current client.
Transporting a non-existent device type deletes the definition of this device type in the target system.
    Parameters to be specified:
The radio buttons Device type/Form/Style/Standard text select the transport object to be imported or exported.
Object name:  Name of the standard text, style, form, or device type.
Mode: Export means download to file, IMPORT means upload from file.
File system: Allows you to choose whether the file is read/written locally (GUI file system) or on the application server (default setting).
File name: Path and file name of the file to be generated or read in the file system of the application server.  The name selected here must fulfill any requirements specified by the R/3 platform (UNIX, Windows NT, AS/400). "/tmp/*******&&&&" appears as a default value. It is only a template and not the actual file name! If the default value is not overwritten, "*******" is replaced by the first eight letters of the object name, and "&&&&" by the file extensions ".TXT", ".STY", ".FOR" or ".PRI".
This parameter is not significant for local files and an input template appears for the local file name.
Binary file format: If this parameter is selected, a binary file format with a fixed record length is written or required for reading. This file format is not compatible with a "non-binary format", that is files for which the parameter was set during writing can only be read with a set parameter. The binary files generated by RSTXSCRP are identified by the string "RSTX@" (ASCII code) at the beginning of the file.
In binary format, the file contains an identifier indicating in which system character set the data was written. RSTXSCRP then performs a character set conversion from the file character set to the system character set of the current system when the file is imported. It is therefore possible to exchange files generated by RSTXSCRP between systems with different system character sets.
Important restriction: You are advised to only use the character set conversion when exchanging files between two systems with an identical number of characters. If objects in the source system contain characters which are not contained in the system character set of the target system, they are represented by a substitute character when converted and their contents are therefore changed. The objects are imported under a modified key if non-translatable characters are part of the object key (for example, a text name with East European special characters).
Display file contents: If this parameter is selected, the contents of the generated or read file are listed together with the transport log. Otherwise only the transport log is output.
Language vector: If this parameter has a value (that is, one or more language keys), this report parameter is used as a language vector for exporting or importing the language-specific objects. The profile parameter "zcsa/installed_languages" is used as the default language vector.
Only export original language: If this parameter is selected, only the original language for layout sets and styles is transported when exporting, and no translations.
    Output
The report generates an action log of the import/export.
    Example
In order to download the device type HPLJIIID from R/3 into the file "/tmp/HPLJIIID.PRI", enter the following parameters:
    Device type selected
    Object name: HPLJIIID
File name: <no entry, use default value>
    Mode: EXPORT
(Other report parameters have default value)
In order to upload the form TESTFORM from the file "/usr/test/TESTFORM.FOR", enter the following parameters:
    Form selected
    Object name: TESTFORM
    File name: /usr/test/TESTFORM.FOR
    Mode: IMPORT
reward if u find use ful

    Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for your help. I think itis better to choose another kind of smart sensor with rs232 I/O port. It is easier to connect the eight sensors to the eight bluetooth servers. The eight sensors are fixed on the different  bearing surfaces and rotate with the machine, it's difficult to use one turning adapter to connect them. So I have to use eight bluetooth servers to connect to the eight sensors.
The key problem ishould I use 8 bluetooth servers or 1 bluetooth server or the bluetooth vi of labview  to receive the data from the other servers and how can I drive them. Just like question 3 and 4 following:
(3 key question)  I skimmed through the forum and noticed labview can support bluetooth. But I want to know that: If the bluetooth function of labview 8 can receive the data from the eight bluetooth servers on the machine  in the same time, how could I do? If not,
should I use the same kinds of eight bluetooth servers to receive the realtime data in the same time, which are connected to pc I/O ports(if they are enough), or just use only one server connected to pc to receive the data from the servers in the same time ?
(4 question) I noticed that the bluetooth servers should use drive software or programe. If necessary, how could I do for the eight servers on the machine and on the pc?

  • Installed OS6, and the music player stops when opening the web browser...

I downloaded and installed OS6 on my iPhone 4 last Thursday.  It seemed to be working fine, and then at the gym while listening to music, the player kept stopping whenever I opened Safari.  When I got home, I backed up and reinstalled the operating system.  It seemed to be fine, but then today, the same issue reappeared. Has anyone had issues with the music player crashing when opening Safari or other apps on OS6

Hmm, looks like launching iBooks shuts down any background audio. Once iBooks is running however you can switch apps, restart the audio and return to iBooks. Provided you don't open a multimedia book like the Beatles Yellow Submarine freebie then you can read without disrupting the audio playback.
I've tried choosing different titles in iBooks, or just the library, then quitting the app, running some audio and starting iBooks again. It repeatedly pauses audio even when iBooks doesn't have any immediate use for the audio channel. As long as you don't actively shut down the iBooks app however you can choose some music as background when you are reading.
