Customized function in Oracle Payable

Dear all,
My user want to have a new function to produce a text file (getting data from Payable module) and send it to Citibank to print cheques. I have already created a new script (SQL*PLUS) executable to generate a txt file. And it works fine.
But the problem is: how can I implement this new function/script into Oracle Application? Since this function requires user to enter 2 parameters, do I also need to create a new form for this function?
Any idea or experience on this topic will be very much appreciated. Thank you for your kind attention.

Go to System Administration responsibility- ConcurrentPrograms-Executable.
1. Define the executable of type SQL*Plus
2. Go to Define ConcurrentPrograms Form
3. Define the new program and attach the executable name to the newly defined program
4. Define parameters in the same form in the next block.
5. Ofcourse, make sure that the Oracle SQL*Plus file is in the respective application TOP directory. You can check this with your Oracle Apps Sys. Admin.
6. Make sure you attach this program to the respective report group using Sys Admin responsibility.
Let me know if you need further help on this.
That should do it.

  • Common Supplier master database for Custom Applications and Oracle Financia

    Hi,
We would like to build a custom applications (Multiple) for our organization core business operations using .NET on the database which is being used by Oracle financials R12.1.1. These custom applications are going to have its own application servers. BUT the database is common for both custom applications and oracle financials. This database is going to house on the Oracle RAC.
We would like to have a common supplier master for both custom applications and Oracle payables. Could you please help me with below questions?
    1. How to create/Update/Query the supplier records in the supplier master tables provided by Oracle financials using custom applications?
    2. How can we store the additional data elements needed by each custom application? We can't use the DFF on the supplier tables as the data elements for each custom application is going to be different. even though they use same supplier.
    3. We might have multiple supplier with same name but different FEIN/SSN numbers. As per the design Oracle financials doesn't allow the same supplier name entered multiple times even though FEIN/SSN number is different. How can we workaround this limitation?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Please find my comments below:
    1. How to create/Update/Query the supplier records in the supplier master tables provided by Oracle financials using custom applications?
A: You may use Supplier Open interface and Sites Interface to Create the Supplier Records. I don't think there is any API to update Supplier Info. Since both the applications exist on same database, I think you can query the Vendor tables from Custom applications also.
    2. How can we store the additional data elements needed by each custom application? We can't use the DFF on the supplier tables as the data elements for each custom application is going to be different. even though they use same supplier.
    A. Designing different tables depending on Custom Application ID and Vendor ID seems to be the only option.
    3. We might have multiple supplier with same name but different FEIN/SSN numbers. As per the design Oracle financials doesn't allow the same supplier name entered multiple times even though FEIN/SSN number is different. How can we workaround this limitation?
A.One alternative is to create a single supplier with each FEIN/SSN number as site. Second one is to create Supplier Name concatenated with FEIN/SSN numbers as different suppliers and store the actual name in some DFF or other field. Standard functionality won't allow such duplication (Cannot Create Supplier/Employee With The Same Name Of Existing Supplier [ID 743430.1]).
    Hope it helps.

  • List of Individuals in Oracle Payables AME Workflow

    Hi all,
I want to create 'List of Individuals in Oracle Payables AME Workflow'.
For Example:- If I initiate approval my invoice from Oracle Payables then I want to see a list of particular employees to whom I'm willing to forward the invoice.
This particular functionality is available in Oracle purchasing but I'm unable to perform this functionality in Oracle Payables.
Please help me at your earliest.
    Shariq

    i explain my need :
i want to have the list of standard workflow processes defined for functions in HRSS.
So i want to know if they are saved in a system table, if it is the case, which program i must execute to have the result..
i read in this manual "Oracle Self-Service Human Resouces Deploy Self-Service Capability Guide" Chapter 4 that :
" SSHR uses workflow processes to combine related functions into a single transaction (for example, to add Special Information Types to Change Assignment or to Personal Information). and to control the transaction flow between the initiating user and other users such as a manager, an HR professional, or an applicant.
You use the Workflow Builder to look at the delivered processes which have been designed to support typical business processes."
i want to know which business processes are supported by SSHR.
thank you very much for your help

  • Oracle Business Rules Custom Functions

    Hi,
I have an input fact with attributes A,B,C & D and an output fact with E, C & D. (C & D attributes are common in both facts)
Whenever the rule matches, we are asserting new output fact by assigning a constant value to attribute 'E' and also the transactional values to C & D using input fact's C & D attributes.
This way, we are making sure to return the response with matched transactional values.
But we would like to do this by writing a custom function so that user need not assign this mapping manually whenever any new rule creates. User just assigns the constant value to attribute E but values to C & D attributes should be assigned automatically.
Please let me know your suggestions on this.
    Regards,
    KK

    Hi Subha,
Please find the answers inline :
    1. In Oracle Business Rules, can one rule invoke another rule?
-- > Yes, once a rule gets executed, it might create more facts, that in turn fire another rule. It all runs around the inout/output facts.
    2. Can we make two rule sets dependent on each other?
    -- > Yes
    3. Can we return data of types String, Boolean, Integer, Double from a rule execution?
-- > Yes, you can use java code with functions.
    4. Can we build complex logical AND, OR assertions in Oracle rules?
-- > Java programming language is needed for this..
    5. Can we use custom business objects (not Java data types) within a rule?
    -- > Dont think so

  • Oracle Payables - APXIIMPT  - Invalid Sequence rejections

    Hello Guys:
My Business users are complaining that they are getting lot of rejections while running APXIIMPT ( Payable Open Interface Report for Invoices) due to invalid sequence error. We logged a TAR with oracle and I am not getting any where after this. The support tech expects me to work with her as a functional consultant but I am not. I am pasting the response from the Support tech.
Can any one give me more details on How to check this? I would really appreciate it.
We are using Standard Invoice - STDINV
The first statement says we need to check the document category code, but she never explains how to check this. I looked at the Oracle payables guide and it is completely text no diagrams.
    Regards,
    Bala
    UPDATE
    =======
I gave you step by step on how to check the document catergory code that you are using for the invoice above.
The rejection you are receiving is usually because you have not setup the document catergory code correctly
Just replace the create with the name of the sequence you already have set up and
check to see if it is setup as the above.
    For example:
    1. Application>Document>Define (query on sequence you are using for the invoice)
A sequence can be Manual or Automatic.
If it is Automatic an Oracle Sequence Object will be created starting
at the designated beginning number and that sequence will be used to
generate the document numbers. After a record in this form is
saved, and type = Automatic, a Concurrent Process is submitted to create
    the Oracle Sequence.
    2. Examine Document Categories
Application>Document> query on Categories assigned to sequence above
There are numerous document categories already defined for Oracle Payables.
The default category used in creating Voucher numbers for Payables Invoices
in the Invoice Workbench is STD INV.
If the Payables "Option Allow Document Category Override" in the
Invoice region is checked, the Document Category can be changed to any category
that has a Table Name of AP_INVOICES_ALL.
    3. Assign Document Sequence to a Category.
    Application>Document>query on Assign
In the Documents Region, indicate the application, the document category,
the set of books, and the method of entering the sequence number.
The method is Automatic, Manual, or Null.
THIS IS THE MOST COMMON SOURCE OF ERROR.
The method is used to tell the system how the record is being created:
    a. Manual means that the record is being created by a form such
    as the Invoice Workbench.
    b. Automatic means the record is being created by a Concurrent
    Process such as Invoice Import.
Setting the assignment as Automatic, will result in an error when
trying to enter an invoice using the Invoice Workbench.

    For whatever it is worth....
This is resolved by ledger set up--> Accounting Setups and adding the balancing segments for which the accounts relate to.

  • Issue with calling custom function in merge command -10g

    Hi,
I have ran into issue while calling a custom function in merge command.
It throws error 'Invalid identifier'. Oracle doesnt understand that it is a function and take the function name as column name.
Since no such collumn name exists, it throws 'Invalid identifier'.
Interestingly, merge command works fine when it has a oracle function (replace, decode).
    The oracle version is 10.2.0.3
    It is very urgent.
    Any pointers will be helpful.
    Regards,
    Ravi

I don't have privileges to create dblink, but this is working for me.
So, i don't think function can be a issue here.

  • Creation of a Custom Folder in Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition

    Hi
Could anybody help me in solving this problem while creating a Custom Folder in Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition ?
    My Requirement is :
I Connect to EUL_US/EUL_US@<HOST_STRING> under Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition.
I selected a Pre-Defined Business Area Eg. General Ledger
There i created a Custom Folder by Name Test Custom Folder
The Query which i used in my Custom Folder is
    SELECT NAME FROM GL.GL_JE_BATCHES
When i Used this Query it says Table or view does not exist.
The Folder is getting created but without a Query.
I am not able to preceed further.
    Any Help would be appreciated
    Regards
    Nakul Venkataraman

Hi Nakul, you may be running into a problem with the sql for your custom folder. For some reason Discoverer Admin will allow you to create a custom folder with sql, but then if you change it and it has any advanced sql, i.e. grouping sets, analytic functions etc., you probably receive an error.
An option is to create a view using the same sql and create a folder from the database using this view.
    Hope this helps.

How did you create your custom function? The step-by-step instructions are in the User Guide here http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B12146_01/maptransf.htm#i1149862 Note you can also import existing PL/SQL packages as described there.
Minor comment: INTO [variable] is a PL/SQL element, not SQL.

  • Are there any APIs to create an Invoice in Oracle Payables?

    Hi,
We have a requirement to import the invoices from the operational systems. We will be making approximately 7,000 checks a day. We need to import all these payments information into Oracle Payables as Invoices and then process the payments out of Oracle payments module. We are on EBS 12.1.1
Were there any APIs to create the invoices directly in Payables as it comes from custom application? We could use payables open interface but as we would like to integrate the payables module with custom application it would be nice if invoice creates directly in Payables through APIs.

1.As suggested previously Try validating the invoice and complete any Workflow approvals if any.
2.If its not available the function might not be available for your responsibility. You will have to run a batch or go to a resp having access to this function.

  • How to get Invoice status value in oracle payable

    Hi guys,
I am new in oracle apps plz tell me how to get invoice status value of prepayment invoice type in payable.
Navigation ->Payables->Oracle Payables ->Invoices->Inquiry->Invoices ->go to Invoice status block and open to Status LOV
plz provide me sql query to find those status lov values and accounted values for any supplier & invoice num.
    it's urgent plz .......................
    Thanks guys.......

The invoice approval status does not come from any table / lookup.
Instead, Oracle builds it by calling the ap_invoices_pkg.get_approval_status function.
You can also call it by passing invoice_id, payment_status_flag and invoice_type_lookup_code.
All these 4 columns are present on the ap_invoices_all record.
    Hope this helps

  • Trigonometric functions in Oracle

    Hi,
I have never used trigonometric functions in Oracle before. I am working on creating a google map of customers within a certain radius of a location. My database table contains longitude and latitude as well as customer information. At this point, using spatial is not an option though it may be in the future. My table name is account and I try to run the following query. I hardcoded in New York (40,-74) as a center and using 25 miles as the radius. I took the query from an example on google maps.
    SELECT address, business_name, latitude, longitude, ( 3959 * acos( cos( radians(40) ) * cos( radians( latitude ) ) * cos( radians( longitude ) - radians(40) ) + sin( radians(-74) ) * sin( radians( latitude ) ) )) AS distance FROM account HAVING distance < 25
    ORDER BY distance
I get an error message that radians is an invalid identifier. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong here?
