Customizing end of GP process return message

Hi there,
We are facing, IMHO, a rather commonly-asked situation, at end of GP processing.
Currently in GP, after a process is completed, a standard message is shown.
Q: How do we customize the message shown or provide a customized page, which allows us to include a button or link back to our application launch page?
Has anyone faced the situation before?
Any advise is greatly appreciated!
For info only: we are using SAP CE 7.1.1 SP3.

Even we faced the same problem long back for our application and we were able to hide default messages through display callable object.
for every Action in GP, u can assign two callable object:
1. for Execution
2. for Display some messages.
when ur process reaches the last stage, u can add a display callable object for the last action. the display callable object can contain a button to navigate to home page.
the display callable object can be web dynpro application where u can have a button which will navigate to home page.

PL/SQL process returning message with more than 4000 chars

In our apex application we are using a pl/sql process returning a message.
This message should be shown to the user.
Our problem is now, that the application items in APEX seem to be limited to 4000 chars and the message can be longer.
We are also not able to use a collection, because we can't print the content of a collection in the "Process Success Message".
Here is the content of a page process which is running on page load after header:
Name - Type: PL/SQL anonymous block

Messages - Process Success Message: &AI_TEST.

no an item like P0_TEST on page 0 / global page also does not help.
But the error is not the application item / page item it's the problem that the "Process Success Message" can't handle more than 4000 chars.
I tried to paste a string into the process success message, but the error "Error processing row. ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column" occured even when i filled the textarea and saved the process.
So there's no problem with the application item or page item.

Bug Report: #SQLERRM_TEXT# in Process Error Message

According to the Online Help for "Process Error Message" #SQLERRM_TEXT# should be replaced by "Text of error message without the error number". But it isn't.

Diagnosis
Partners in the specified partner function cannot be processed online. The program generates them and completes the data automatically.
however when i try to add a 'TF' partner - its working...

Hello Eyal,
Goto transaction "VOPA". For Customer master, Click on Partner Procedure
Double click on your partner procedure [Example WE: Ship-to Party].
In the next screen, check if the partner function 'TZ' is defined or not.
If the same is not present there, insert the partner function. Also, note that the partner function 'TF' would be present there.
These steps would resolve your issue.

Try deleting the downloaded ,exe file and re-downloading and re-installing it. If you have an AV running, try disabling it just for the installation; it may be preventing some parts from installing properly.
If that isn't what you need, please ask your specific question; posting the error log may help a tech, but is not very useful to us regular customers.

Regarding return message from custom transaction

Hello all,
          i have a scenario where i am calling a custom transaction and trying to get return messages, but i am not getting any return message instead i am getting error message in that transaction even if i am using mode 'N' in my call.
        Do my custom transaction need to follow some methodology which will return error message, as messages are returned when standard call transaction is made.

        i am getting a empty message table, thing is that from the custom transaction they are calling other standard transaction and getting error message. if any error occurs they are using 'message id' syntax and displaying and if any error occurs internally in that transaction they are using 'message e001'. this kind of error messages are returned to my call transaction but the other one is not getting populated.

How to create message at the end of the process chain

Hi friends,
I have created process chains. It's working fine. But I wanted to create message to give alert if process failure.
My requirement is if any process failure due to any reason message has to receive to the responsible person. I'm not sure how to do this.
Can anybody suggest how to do this if possible step by step.

Hi,
Genarally, you can create a message, by right click and create message then give email ids in Maintain Recipent list (Recipt type = via internet) and then give message that you want to send in Edit Document.
Check whether the email address is maintained in SU01 in address tab.
Configure SMTP server is set up properly ( SCOT). Ask basis team to do it.
There is also other option to send the mail through program, for this you need to trigger any event or you can insert this program at teh end of the process chain.

Custom "no row returned" message

is there a way to change the "no row returned " message in the report?

You can try to do such thing : create your query like
select a1 f1,a2 f2, ... from table
UNION
select null f1,null f2,... from dual
In this case if you don't have real records you get an empty record, so the mentioned message diappears.

Sender jms adapter-archiving before processing the message

Hi,
Do we have any option in Sender JMS adapter to archive the message before processing the message?
I have searched in sender JMS adapter (XI7.0) settings, but couldn't find any option.
My assumption is whether any option provided in configuration setting of adapter engine or any other alternatives.

In the same process, success message looks like:

Even if i set default value in item, it doesn't work. Value is shown in item, but not in message.

Items "Source used" is set to Only when...
If i set it to Always, ..., value doesn't appear in item.

The Custom MRU has to be OnSubmit. I was talking about initialization of the Page Item
To set the value of the item in Session State set the value using Before or After Header Computation or Process.E.g. write After Header Computation for P232_UPDATE_NUMBER > Static Assignment > 0
. I am not referring to Custom MRU.As I said earlier, if your CustomMRU process runs you should see a number >= 0 in the message. You will need to initialize only, to say 0, only for situations when the Custom MRU does not run (condition evals to false).

every time I repair my iPod with iTunes, it hangs at the end of the process (while checkin the recovery of iPod). What can I do?

I chose to restore it to factory defaults, but that never succeeded.
It hangs at the end of the process.

Littery it says:
Check of Recovery of iPod.
Already for 40 minutes.
I closed down iTunes.
Now, when I turn on my iPod, there is the icon of iTunes with an usb cable towards it.
When I attach it to my computer and turn on iTunes, the message is there that a iPod was stuck in recovery mode and I should retry it.
And then I get the same story. Unpacking, installing, checking... blocked!

Single queue: concurrent processing of messages in multiple consumers

I am new to jms . The goal is to process messages concurrently from a queue in an asynchronous listener's onMessage method by attaching a listener instance to multiple consumer's with each consumer using its own session and running in a separate thread, that way the messages are passed on to the different consumers for concurrent processing.
1) Is it ossible to process messsages concurrently from a single queue by creating multiple consumers ?
2) I came up with the below code, but would like to get your thoughts on whether the below code looks correct for what I want to accomplish.

Hi Mark,
if the messages are sent with quality of service EO (=exactly once) you can add queues.
From documentation:
Netweaver XI -> Runtime -> Processing xml messages -> Queues for asynchronous message processing
...For incoming messages you set the parameter EO_INBOUND_PARALLEL from the Tuning category.
If more than one message is sent to the same receiver, use the configuration parameter EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL of the Tuning category to process messages simultaneously in different queues.
