Customizing the Monitoring and Report Viewer - ACS 5.2

Is there a way to modify the columns shown in the monitoring and reporting viewer so that I can see all of the relevant columns in one screen, similar to the ACS 4.x view?  I would like to view things at a glance, rather than having to click into each item.  Thank you for your help in advance.

that's correct. here is what we have in ACS 5.4 for snmp.
ACS 5.4 supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to provide logging services. The SNMP agent provides read-only SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c support. The supported MIBs include:

    I hope this is the right forum for my question.
    We just purchased 8 1121 ACS 5.4 appliances. I have some familiarity with the older 1113 and 1120 appliances running ACS 4.2. So I have a lot to learn.
    Right now I'm trying to understand the Monitoring and Report Viewer System Configuration. I set the SNMP V2 read comm. string to the same string I configured from the CLI.

    snmp-server contact "ACS1121;XXXXX"
    snmp-server location "B1 Lab"

    1) It was not the same string as configured on CLI. Does setting this give me access to query more than system type or server type MIB objects.
    2) Can you provide an example? (for example to query a switch -  snmpwalk -v 1 -c XXXXXX hostname 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43)
    3) What is the MIB object tree OID (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.???) for these ACS appliances?

  • Monitoring and Reporting on ACS 5.1 not working

    Hello,
    I have not managed to get the Monitoring to work on the ACS 5.1. This is an eval version. Advanced monitoring and reporting is installed on the ACS. This is my configuration on the Cisco Router

    On the ACS, when I open the dashboard --> ACS health  -> I get Status not available.

    I am evaling the Cisco ACS 5.2 Virtual Appliance on ESX4 and everything is working fine except for the "Monitoring and Reports" no matter what browser I try, it just keeps loading new tabs of the welcome screen, in the case of some browser versions it does this and does not stop.
    I have tried the following browsers on Win7 Pro: IE 8, Firefox 4, Firefox 3, Chrome 12.
    I have tried the following browsers on MacOS 10.6: FireFox 4, Safari 5.0.5
    In Safari 5.0.5 it calls up one new window, but doesn't load anything in the right hand frame.
    This is a fresh install, with an eval license. I am rather annoyed that it doesn't work out of the box, especially when there was not documentation that mentioned that anything needed to be setup for this to work after initial install, unless I missed something.
    I installed the VM with the base 5.0.26 ISO and then applied patches 5.0.26-1 through 5.0.26-5.
    Can anyone provide any help on this?

    Very good questions. Let me try and take them one at a time. Some of the answers you will likely find in the CM GUI help (upper-left corner is the Help button), or in the online documentation. But let's add a little more color and detail.
    1)When we pull bandwidth Optimization report, on Y-Axis the graphs says Effective Capacity .What is Effective Capacity?
    Basically, the "effective increased bandwidth capacity" is telling you how much additional WAN bandwidth you've gained because of the optimization. It will chart somewhere between 1 times and 100 times. Typically it charts all traffic, though you can configure it to chart traffic for specific Applications.
    The CDM online help gives the formulas used to chart the graph:
    Effective WAN Capacity = 1 / (1-% Reduction Excluding Pass-Through)
    % Reduction Excluding Pass-Through = (Original Excluding Pass-Through - Optimized) / (Original Excluding Pass-Through)
    2)what is reduction % excluding and including passthrough
    Looking at the formulas given above might help you understand. The one is a reduction ratio compared to only the original traffic that is optimized. The other is a reduction ratio compared to all original traffic, whether it is optimized or not. So, if you want to know what kind of optimization you are getting for the traffic that you configured to have optimized, look at the "excluding pass-through" numbers. If you want to know the positive effect that optimization is having on your full traffic load, take a look at the "including pass-through" numbers.
    3)What is effectivity capacity including and excluding passthrough ?
    The effective capacity is what kind of throughput you can potentially realize on the WAN -- assuming you would fill it to 100% capacity -- because of the level of optimization you are seeing. The "including" numbers show you the effect of optimization compared to all the traffic passing through the WAE whether it is optimized or not. The "excluding" numbers show the effect of optimization compared only to the traffic that is receiving optimizations.
    4)With the help of which report, we can show the customer that the file download which took 10 mins in first attempt, is downloaded in 10secons in next attempt?
    This one is a little trickier. The reports are much broader than a single connection. They are for all traffic, or for traffic that matches specific defined Applications. You could create a separate Application and matching classifiers for the client and/or server IP addresses and/or ports, run the test, then configure the charts to only show you the data for that Application. By default, statistics for an Application aren’t charted unless you check the "Enable Statistics" box when defining/editing the Application.
    5)How to show that the bandwidth utilization has decreased by which %.
    You want to look at the % reduction numbers you asked about in #2 above.
    6)Which report says that the applications have become this much time faster?
    These questions are normally put forwarded by many customers ? Can you please help me with your expertise answer ?
    This is probably the hardest question to answer.
    "Faster" isn't always easy to define. You are probably talking about user experience rather than statistics found in a network device. What determines that experience? A web page fully populating with all the pictures? A CIFS-based application that saves a file? A custom application that collects data from different servers over different protocols to perform some operation? Much of that is subjective and based on multiple individual requests, sometimes over different protocols.
    What we can provide are statistics to show the effect of WAN optimization and application acceleration for specific types of traffic. We can't show you that displaying a web page is N times faster with WAAS, because we don't know which of all the many HTTP requests that are made are specific to the user experience. But we can show that each of the requests received so much overall optimization, so much optimization from DRE, so much optimization from LZ, so much added benefit from HTTP acceleration.
    What you would probably do is collect some base-line timings for performing certain user activities, then perform the same operations both cold (first pass) and warm (subsequent passes). Back up those timing numbers with reports from the CM GUI, and perhaps even the "show statistics connection connection-id ". Which reports to use? Start with those Optimization and Acceleration reports. Those are the reports we expect will give the most complete/accurate pictures of the benefit of WAAS. You can also create and even schedule custom reports as needed.

    And never heard of one case of AHT finding or reporting a real GPU related problem.
    It does sound like the graphic card and best way to know is to swap it out, even if you have a PC card around.

    I would like to know where I can find documentation about the "Advanced Monitoring and Report" feature on ACS server version 5.1.0.44-3. I would like find information about the installation, benefit of this feature, and how to use advanced monitoring and report feature.

    In ACS 5.0 there was a separate licensed feature that enabled additional monitoring and troubleshooting features such as alarms, thresholds and additonal reports. In ACS 5.1 this functionality is included by default as part of the base product

  • Cant see the native groups on the forms and reports

    We are migrating 9.3.3 to 11.1.2.1. We recently found the issue after the migration. Even after migrating the users, groups and provisioning using LCM; we cant see the groups in the forms and reports.
    We did the migration for test environment, but didnt encounter this issue.
    For eg, when I click on 'assign access' for a planning form I dont see the group assigned to that form. I can see that group in the shared services with all the provisioning. I can find the group and assign it manually for that form. But it doesn't shows up after the migration.
    I opened the SR with oracle who suggested to bring over the schema and upgrade/register the applications again, as there might not be any groups present when I register the application before.
    We brought over the schema, migrate and register the applications, but the problem still persists.
    Has any one encountered issue like this, I would, I would really appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks for your reply John. I ran the UpdateUsers.cmd utility, but it didnt do anything. I brought over the schema again, updated and registered the application. Everything looks good so far, I can see the groups on dimension access and on the webforms.
    When I run create or refresh security it deletes all the records in HSP_ACCESS_CONTROL. The view link disappears from the planning dimensions and i cant see the groups assigned on the webforms as well.
    Any idea would be highly appreciated.

    Our next step is to make a service policy exception on the firewall itself. We are also considering reloading the IPS device or at least the analysis engine.

    We are on EP 7 SP8. We just now performed a system copy and are right now done with the post installation activities. All seems fine but we are having a problem in the Navigation Windown Quick Create link on the left hand side. Here I am always getting an error: Error occurred.     Can someone please guide me with how to remove this error.

    Can you see the defaulttrace file for more details?
    Open up Visual Administrator and go to Log Viewer.  Then open up the Defaulttrace file. Generate the same error message and look in the file for more details.
    What do you see?

    You will need to modify your default.env to point to the directory where your .fmx is located and formsweb.cfg to run the specific form, e.g. foo.fmx (default is test.fmx).

  • How to debug a form (servlet) in the Forms and Reports Server

    Hi:
    I have a new install of an application that ran perfectly on a different host using the Forms and Reports Server.
    I have installed the FRS on the new host and it is working fine. I can run the test form.
    When I run my actual forms app, I only get a blank screen in the browser and on the status bar it reports "Applet Started'.
    Is there a way I can turn on debugging or something so I can see at what point it is failing or why the form is not opening properly?
    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply Frank. I have looked all through the Start menu but see no "Configuration and Migration". I assume it's because I only installed the Forms and Reports option, so I only have Forms Services, Reports Services, and the Universal Installer. No big deal - I've already setup tnsnames manually. I just like to use the Net Assistant when I can.

    Hi,
    Go to Administrator->Manage Presentation Catalg->Click on Group folder under which the dashboard and reports are present
    1)Create one folder and copy the reports which are present in the dashboard pages you want(reports will be under some specific folder,open and copy one after the other to the newly created folder).Do this if you want other set of same reports for new dashboard that you are creating
    2)Click on _portal and create a new folder(new dashboard)
    3)Click on dashboad that is to be copied
    4)copy the pages one after the other into new dashboard folder
    If you are not keeping new set of reports then no need to point reports in pages,if reports are placed under new folder then go to each page and pull those reports from newly created folder.

    In my functionality previously, I used FM 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1' wherein I can freely customized the sender and recipient.  But I need to change it to BCS class due to 50 character limitation in Subject.

    The code above would always trigger the email of the owner of SY-UNAME.  In my case, I need a custom one email, let's say, a hard coded non SY-UNAME email.
    What I did:
    Change the data definition of sender as follow, but this would give me not compatible type parameter.
    DATA: sender             TYPE REF TO if_sender_bcs.
    "sender = cl_sapuser_bcs=>create( '<sender_email_literal_goes_here>' ).
    Question: Is this possible? or the class is fixed to SY-UNAME's email?
