Cut the field from the string output.

I have a column in my database which might have string value as
field1="string1" field2="string2 field="string3" ....
I want to cut the subtring "string2" in my select query. I know it can be done easily with some unix command, but I want to do it in my select query. Can somebody help me with this problem?

If the required string always come after field2= then below would help you. Is this what you are looking for?

    Hi,
    You are receiving XML message within a field. To access a particular field from that XML message, you could create a User Defined Function, as suggested by many already.
    You could write UDF using some of the String operation functions. This could include following:
    1. If you need to access field Employee PersonnelNumber, you could get last index of that within string using function lastIndexOf(String str). Pass string "Employee PersonnelNumber="" for this function.
    2. This function would return an index of rightmost occurance of this string.
    3. after this you could get the index of next occurance of ", as the value of field is within quotes. You could use function indexOf(int ch, int fromIndex) for getting the same. You would pass Character as " and index as the one received by previous function.
    4. Now you have index for starting and ending point of value string for desired field.
    5. After this you could use substring(int beginIndex, int endIndex) function by passing first and second index values to retrieve the needed string, which contains value of field.
    Hope this would be helful.
    Thanks,
    Bhavish

  • Aggregator Add all fields from input to output in mapping

    Hi,
    i'm creating a mapping, and added a aggregator to it, but i have to add all fields manually to the output attributes. Is it possibe to add all the input attributes automatically to the output.
    This will save me alot of time, else i've to create about 50 fields manually...

    Have you considered OMB+? I have scripted several similar things to automate tasks. For example, to automate creating the output group of an expression from the field names of a target table, and then connecting the expression to the table field by field I did:
    if [catch { set lst [ OMBRETRIEVE TABLE '$TAB_NAME' GET COLUMNS ] } errmsg] {
          puts "Error retrieving table columns: $errmsg"
          return
        } else {
           foreach tcol $lst {
              OMBALTER MAPPING '$MAP_NAME' ADD ATTRIBUTE '$tcol' OF GROUP 'INOUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR 'EXPR_GEN_ID'
              set ctyp [ OMBRETRIEVE TABLE'$TAB_NAME' COLUMN '$tcol' GET PROPERTIES (DATATYPE) ]
              if {[string match NUMBER $ctyp]} {
                 set clen [ OMBRETRIEVE TABLE '$TAB_NAME' COLUMN '$tcol' GET PROPERTIES (PRECISION) ]
                 OMBALTER MAPPING '$MAP_NAME' MODIFY ATTRIBUTE '$tcol' OF GROUP 'INOUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR 'EXPR_GEN_ID' SET PROPERTIES (DATATYPE,PRECISION) VALUES ('NUMBER','$clen')
              if {[string match VARCHAR2 $ctyp]} {
                 set clen [OMBRETRIEVE TABLE '$TAB_NAME' COLUMN '$tcol' GET PROPERTIES (LENGTH) ]
                 exec_omb OMBALTER MAPPING '$MAP_NAME' MODIFY ATTRIBUTE '$tcol' OF GROUP 'INOUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR 'EXPR_GEN_ID' SET PROPERTIES (DATATYPE,LENGTH) VALUES ('VARCHAR2','$clen')
              if {[string match DATE $ctyp]} {
                 exec_omb OMBALTER MAPPING '$MAP_NAME' MODIFY ATTRIBUTE '$tcol' OF GROUP 'INOUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR 'EXPR_GEN_ID' SET PROPERTIES (DATATYPE) VALUES ('DATE')
              #And now add a connector between the expression and the table.
              OMBALTER MAPPING '$MAP_NAME' ADD CONNECTION FROM ATTRIBUTE '$tcol' OF GROUP 'INOUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR 'EXPR_GEN_ID' TO ATTRIBUTE '$tcol' OF GROUP 'INGRP1' OF OPERATOR '$TAB_NAME'
        }Writing a script to automate copying the INGRP1 group to OUTGRP1 would be pretty similar. Probably not worth it if this the only time you are going to do this, but definitely worth it if this is going to be a common task on your project....
    What you are going to do, it seems, is to cycle through the fiends in the OUTGRP and:
    OMBALTER MAPPING '$MAP_NAME' MODIFY ATTRIBUTE '$tcol' OF GROUP 'OUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR '$YOUROPERATOR' SET PROPERTIES (EXPRESSION) VALUES ('ingrp1.$tcol')
    or something like that.

  • Calling Bpel Process From a Jsp(Need a string output instead of XML object)

    Hi
    I am calling a BPEL process(Synchrononus) from a JSP page, Where Bpel process calls a java web service.The output from Bpel process is returned as an XML object. I need the output in a string format.Please let me know the steps to get the string output.
    I also executed invokeCreditRatingService.jsp(from samples shipped with SOA Suite) that calls CreditRatingService bpel, but i was getting the following output where the rating value is printed as an XML object.
    Output:-
    BPELProcess CreditRatingService executed!
    Credit Rating is oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement@9511c8
    Please let me know, what changes i need to make to get the string output.I followed all the steps given in "orabpel-Tutorial7-InvokingBPELProcesses.PDF" to execute credit rating jsp.
    We are using SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 version.Do I need to make any changes to the code, to make it work with this version.
    Thanks
    Vandana.

    The call payload.get("payload") returns, as you have observed, an XMLElement. You can simply convert the XMLElement into an XML string by using a DOMSerializer implementation. The following code is very useful for this purpose:

  • Conversion of a string output and store them into the internal table fields

    Hi,
    I'm writing a program in which I'm populating the values generated in TCODE- 'AL11' I'm able to retrieve the data in string format but I've to break the string and put the values in an internal table. The internal table has fields of various lengths and no specific position where I can use a delimiter and use the Split command.
    Kindly provide me suggestions how I can break the string and assign the values in the fields of the internal table.
    Regards,
    Sreedhar.

    Hi,
    Take the screen fields length and create an internal table.
    loop the internal table and first split the string at delimeter( use  cl_abap_char_utilities)
    CONSTANTS:
      c_delimiter        TYPE c VALUE
                              cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab,
      c_delimiter_enter  TYPE c VALUE
                              cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf.
    loop at itab into fs.
        SPLIT w_str  AT c_delimiter_enter INTO w_str w_dummy .
                                          " SPLITTING AT 'ENTER KEY'
          SPLIT w_str  AT c_delimiter INTO
                                          " SPLITTING AT 'TAB'
      fs-f1,
    fs-f2.
    append fs to itab.
    clear fs.
    endloop.

  • Removing number appended at the end from a string field

    Hi,
    I have a string field which has numbers appended to its end. I need to remove the numbers and display only the string values.
    The string is not of fixed length, and the numeric values can be single digit or 2 digits and might be separate by a space but not always.
    Here is some sample data:
    SHOWCASE NOTT12
    SHOWCASE PETE12
    SHOWCASE BRIST7
    SHOWCASE READI1
    CINEDROME PAD1
    RITZ BELPER   1
    STEPH.JOSEPH S1
    I need to display this as below (without any numbers appended at the end)
    SHOWCASE NOTT
    SHOWCASE PETE
    SHOWCASE BRIST
    SHOWCASE READI
    CINEDROME PAD
    RITZ BELPER
    STEPH.JOSEPH S
    Please let me know how this can be achieved.
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
    Just a quick option is to use the REPLACE function, i.e.
    REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE({contr_actv.dept_id},'1' ,''),'2', ''), '3', '');
    You just have to build it up a little more so it caters for numbers 0 - 9.  At the moment it only works for numbers 1 - 3.  Another way you could do this is write some code to loop through the length of the string looking at each individual character to test for a number.
    I don't have time today to write something like that but the above should work as long as you don't have numbers in the middle of names etc.
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • How can I get the "text" field from the actionEvent.getSource() ?

         public static class MyListener  implements ActionListener{
              public MyListener() {}
              public void actionPerformed( ActionEvent e ) {
                   System.out.println( "hi!! " + e.getSource() );
                   // I need to know a title of the button (which was clicked)...
    }The output of the code is something like this:
    hi! javax.swing.JButton[,140,5,60x25,alignmentX=0.0,alignmentY=0.5,
    border=javax.swing.plaf.BorderUIResource$CompoundBorderUIResource@1ebcda2d,

    right=14],paintBorder=true,paintFocus=true,pressedIcon=,rolloverEnabled=true,
    rolloverIcon=,rolloverSelectedIcon=,selectedIcon=,text=first,defaultCapable=true]
    I need this: "first" (from this part: "text=first" of the output above).
    Does anyone know how can I get the "text" field from the e.getSource() ?

    System.out.println( "hi!! " + ( (JButton) e.getSource() ).getText() );I think the problem is solved..If your need is to know the text of the button, yes.
    In a real-world application, no.
    In a RW application, a typical need is merely to know the "logical role" of the button (i.e., the button that validates the form, regardless of whether its text is "OK" or "Save", "Go",...). Text tends to vary much more than the structure of the UI over time.
    In this case you can get the source's name (+getName()+), which will be the name that you've set to the button at UI construction time. Or you can compare the source for equality with either button ( +if evt.getSource()==okButton) {...}+ ).
    All in all, I think the best solution is: don't use the same ActionListener for more than one action (+i.e.+ don't add the same ActionListener to all your buttons, which leads to a big if-then-else series in your actionPerformed() ).
    Eventually, if you're listening to a single button's actions, whose text change over time (e.g. "pause"/"resume" in a VCR bar), I still think it's a bad idea to rely on the text of the button - instead, this text corresponds to a logical state (resp. playing/paused), it is more maintainable to base your logic on the state - which is more resilient to the evolutions of the UI (e.g. if you happen to use 2 toggle buttons instead of one single play/pause button).

  • HELP!  JOB ON THE LINE-  Need to import fields from one document to another document

    In a nutshell I have a set of documents and we now have a new structure for those documents. Either I have to cut and paste all the data from one to another or figure out how to import fields to another document.
    I have two documents. Both are different but require the same information. Basically I need to have one file with fields import specified fields from another document. Ex., Name on document 1, I need the file to know to get the Name field on document 2 and import it into the specified field on document 1. I will have multiple fields that need to do this importing. I REALLY NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT B/C I HAVE A TON OF DOCUMENTS THAT NEED TO BE COMPLETED.

    If you are talking about the field structure, not the content that Bernd commented on, make a copy of the document with the fields. Open the file and use replace pages to replace the pages with the new document layout. After you have replaced the pages, you will have to select the field tools and move the fields to the proper location. If the form was made in Designer, I am not sure of the process. There is likely a similar process in Designer, but I don't use Designer and can't comment. You may have to go to the Designer forum in such a case, unless other Acrobat users here can help.

  • Is it possible to get the position of a charcter from a string ?

    Hi !
    Is it possible to get the position of a charcter from a string ?
    Example:
    @VAR contains the following text "ABCDEFGHIJKLM"
    I'am seaching for FGH, it start on pos. 6 en ends on pos 8.
    How can I get these numbers 6 and 8 ?
    So, I can use them in the MID(text,start,len) function.
    Thanks!

    Hi Sooraj,
    I'll explain more in detail:
    From a web-service I get a variable called @Spec.
    This variable contains the following:
    "MOTORTYPE[CR]D-QW1234[LF]PART[CR]1234-FRD-X[LF]"
    or
    "MOTORTYPE[CR]ABC[LF]PART[CR]E-435[LF]"
    I need the values behind MOTORTYPE[CR] and behind PART[CR]
    But you’ll see that the positions of these values are different each time.
    If there is a way to get the (start) position of "MOTORTYPE[CR]" or "PART[CR]" and the (end) position of the first "[LF]" behind that,
    then I could use the MID() function to get the correct values.
    The values will be displayed in a table view (between other fields).
    An ABAP-call/function won’t work . . . how should I invoke this within a table column/field object ? (system action ?)

  • How can I get the last 18 numbers from this string

    Hi,
    I'm querying this field from a table. How can I only get the last 18 numbers:
    The numbers look like this:
    500000000818118

    If it is always the last 18 numbers just use the Right() function.  Examples:
    Right("500000000818118", 18)
    or
    <cfset mystring = "500000000818118">
    <cfset mynewstring = Right(mystring, 18)>
    or
    #Right(yourquerycolumn, 18)#
    etc.
    Edit:
    Well I just noticed that your example string is only 15 characters long.  Perhaps I mis-understood your question?

  • Some fields are missing in the ALV output

    Hi ,
    I have created a normal ALV report using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY . It shows the output correctly. But when I take the prin out or download to an excel sheet some fields are not there. Can I know how to solve this issue ?
    Regards,
    Beena

    hi Beena,
    If you are downloading the ALV output to excel, please make sure that the DDIC structure is passed as a parameter to the REUSE_ALV. I doubt you are creating field catalog from the program and that DDIC structure is not used.
    Hope this helps,
