CWM2_OLAP_AW_ACCESS.CREATEAWACCESSSTRUCTURES_FR  Refuses to create SQL scripts

I have done everything to ensure that my Analytic Warehouse contains all the appropriate objects indicated in chapter 15 of the Oracle 9i User Guide required to create relation views.
1. Time.GID (Formulated using the grouping id function)
2. TimeParent.GID
3. Time.Hierheight (Formulated using the hierheight function)
4. Time.Inhierheirarchy
I have also set
UTL_FILE_DIR=c:/orahome/olapfiles within my ora.init file pdfile directory. Restarted the database on numourous ocassions.
I ran
CALL CWM2_OLAP_AW_ACCESS.CREATEAWACCESSSTRUCTURES_FR(
'c:/orahome/olapfiles/', 'my_time.sql', 'time_',
'mydb', 'c:/orahome/olapfiles/', 'mydb_file_time.txt');
The command completed without errors but no SQL script was created.
I tried being more specific as regards to where the AW resided.
I ran
CALL CWM2_OLAP_AW_ACCESS.CREATEAWACCESSSTRUCTURES_FR(
'c:/orahome/olapfiles/', 'my_time.sql', 'time_',
'OLAPSYS.mydb', 'c:/orahome/olapfiles/', 'mydb_file_time.txt');
Again no errors, but unfortunately no script.
I have Oracle 9i R2 on windows 2000 with the 2499827 patch.
As anybody been able to get this package to work properly and successfully create a SQL script containing a relational view.
Also is there anyway of debugging this package to identify the root cause of the problem
Any pointers would be greatfully recieved
Regards
Richard

(Running Win2K Pro, standalone PC 9201 patch2323002)
Yes, I'm getting the same problem, except I get this error message :
ORA-28575: unable to open RPC connection to external procedure agent
Which apparently means I've got something wrong with my listener configuration and it can't find the external procedure. Seeing as I haven't configured the listener maybe this is the problem?!?!?!
Have you had to configure your listener? If so what did you put in it?

  • GUI to develop SQL scripts

    Is there a GUI in SQL Developer that creates SQL scripts simply by having the user put table columns in a particular window? The user can then define the table relationships, save the query, and/or click a button, and the query will run.

    Hi Chelseasadhu,
    Do you want to generate such an T-SQL script as you posted above or you want to execute the above script in a SSIS package? If the former, there is not a stock task/component in SSIS can generate T-SQL script; if the later, you can execute
    the script via Execute SQL Task. One option is to use Script Task or Script Component to generate SQL script via SQL Server Management Objects (SMO):

  • Creating SQL-Loader script for more than one table at a time

    Hi,
    I am using OMWB 2.0.2.0.0 with Oracle 8.1.7 and Sybase 11.9.
    It looks like I can create SQL-Loader scripts for all the tables
    or for one table at a time. If I want to create SQL-Loader
    scripts for 5-6 tables, I have to either create script for all
    the tables and then delete the unwanted tables or create the
    scripts for one table at a time and then merge them.
    Is there a simple way to create migration scripts for more than
    one but not all tables at a time?
    Thanks,
    Prashant Rane

    No there is no multi-select for creating SQL-Loader scripts.
    You can either create them separately or create them all and
    then discard the one you do not need.

  • How to batch create SSO accounts from Windows or a PL/SQL script

    We have just converted our 6i Forms and Reports to 10g (10.1.2.0.2), and run them against a 9i database. In order to be able to securely run reports we set up and configured SSO for a few accounts via the Oracle Identity Management Provisioning Console. We do not have PORTAL – nor do we want it. However, now we need to create about 500 SSO accounts at once. We would prefer to be able to create these accounts in a batch method – eg run something from Windows command line or run a PL/SQL script. We have the DBMS_LDAP package successfully installed in that 9i database. Currently our list of 500 users is simply in a table in the 9i db.
    Spent several hours looking through both this site and Metalink, but so far no luck – especially because we don’t have or want PORTAL. If anyone can help, would appreciate it very much.
    Thanks

  • Mining Models used in SQL Developer 3.0 and models created PL/SQL scripts

    Hi,
    Pardon my ignorance if some of my questions are very basic. I am just gaining understanding about building/using mining models.
    I installed sql developer and went thru some OBE exercises to build models ( classification models)
    While building workflows the exercise required to supply data for the pre built models ( the four models pre-created). The question is - is this exercise is about building models or using models ?
    How those pre-built models were created? Are these models are restricted in their usage. or are they generic models that they can be applied for solving similar problems?
    What type of models can be used in workflows?
    I am also seeing some smaples of pl/sql scripts used in creating some models. Is it correect to assume they are created using PL/SQL APIs ( DBMS_DATA_MINING, DBMS_DATA_MINING_TRANSFORM etc).
    What is the differrence between these two model building process ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The OBE exercises show you both how to build models and then to apply (Score) new data using the built models.
    A model is always built using some form of input data, so it is built specifically with that form of data in mind.
    It is not a generic model at all.
    When you apply a model you provide data in the same format as the original data.
    In the case of a Classification or Regression model, you are applying the model to generate a prediction on new data that conforms with the build data provided to the model.
    The online help provides details on all the models that are available.
    Data Miner uses the data mining pl/sql packages (package name DBMS_DATA_MINING) to create and test models.
    There are also sql data mining prediction functions as well.
    Thanks, Mark

  • Using an SQL Script file to create database in Java? (monkeyDB.sql)

    Hello!
    I am a writing an SQL Script so that I can re-create my database on another server (im using my laptop to test it on first though).
    I'm connecting to mySQL server using JDBC which works fine, but I was wondering
    how can I run an entire script file, say myScript.sql from within a Java class??
    (an SQL Script is simply a file containing the regular SQL commands and expressions that you might enter at an sql command line prompt)
    example of an SQL Scritp: monkeyDB.sql>>
    //#create new db
    CREATE DATABASE sample_db;
    //#set active db
    USE sample_db;
    //#set table paramaters
    CREATE TABLE monkeys
    (name CHAR(20),
      age INT UNSIGNED,
      sex ENUM('M','F')
    //#create standard monkeys
    INSERT INTO monkeys(name,age,sex) VALUES("Sammy",10,"M");
    INSERT INTO monkeys(name,age,sex) VALUES("Muncht",12,"M");
    INSERT INTO monkeys(name,age,sex) VALUES("Jill",8,"F");
    //#get recordset
    SELECT * FROM monkeys WHERE age < 50;Thanks for your help!

    thanks. :-)
    I thought about that too but I didnt want to hard wire it into the code.
    I guess it isnt possible to output the script file using some command from the sql library..?

  • Question about creating new tables using SQL script in WebLogic Server

    Hi,
    I am new to WebLogic and I am following a book Java EE Development with Eclipse published by PACKT Publishing to learn
    Java EE.  I have installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse on the PC and I am able to log into the WebLogic Server Administration Console
    and set up a Data Source.  However the next step is to create tables for the database.  The book says that the tables can be created using
    SQL script run from the SQL command line.
    I cannot see any way of inputting SQL script into the WebLogic Server Admistration Console.  Aslo there is no SQL Command line in DOS.
    Thanks  for your help.
    Brian.

    Sounds like you are to run the scripts provided by a tutorial to create the tables, right?  In that case, you may need to install an Oracle client to connect to your database.  The client is automatically installed with the database, so if you have access to the server that hosts the database, you should be able to run SQLplus from there.
    As far as I know, there is no way to run a script from the Admin Console.  I could be wrong, however.

    , if any error thrown then that error and procedure name alone have to move to separate log file..
    Please help me if this possible or any other easy way to do this..

  • Running a SQL Script to Create an Object Type

    When I do Database Development with JDeveloper and fellow the instruction at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/dbdevelopment/obe_%20dbasedevmt.htm
    and try to Running a SQL Script to Create an Object Type by Right-clicking emp_rec.sql in the editor and
    choose Run in SQL*Plus > hrconn, the new Obuect type can not created. The screen flashs and I only got the

    "Invoking SQL*Plus...

    hr@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=localhost)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=ORCL)))
    @emp_rec.sql" and nothing else (No error like JBO-XXXXX).
    Can anybody Help Me? Thanks a lot!
    SID: ORCL

    Hi Simon,
    Having had a closer look at your original message it seems that rather than selecting the SQL*Plus executable in the directory you have managed to select the file 'D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN\cemutls.exe'.
    If you go to 'Tools | Preferences' and select the 'Database Connections' node and alter the 'SQL*Plus Executable' field to 'D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN\sqlplus.exe' and then try again, this should then work.

  • Creating APEX pages via SQL scripts..

    Hi Guys,
    I want to create APEX pages via SQL Script. The main reason to have this option that I have couple of applications which has XML files for screen definition where I can read all screen properties (field types, sizes, caption, etc...)
    Is there any documentation or help stuff where I can find the APEX page definition tables? I found something like WWV tables but I couldnt figure it out properly...
    Any help ?
    Thanks,
    Osman...

    We have built our entire apex app in a similar way. We create the shell apex pages using apex (eg, Item Detail, Insert Item, etc.). Then we create a PL/SQL region on the page. The PL/SQL region simply calls a stored procedure to render the controls on the page. For example, our regions looks similar to this:
    begin
    apex_pkg.sp_render_page('ITEM_DETAIL',Param1,Param2,Param3);
    end;
    The sp_render_page procedure in the database generates the appropriate HTML for the page. This procedure reads meta data in the database (eg, field label, field size, field type, field position, etc.) and renders the same HTML that apex would render if the apex page was manually created. For example, in the procedure we use lines similar to these:
    HTP.p(apex_item.text(...))
    HTP.p(apex_item.select_list_from_query(...))
    Because the procedure is reading meta data, the apex page is dynamic and can be different for different users or clients.

  • Underlying SQL or SQL Script for Calculated Views Create Graphically

    Hello,
    Is it possible to view the SQL or SQL script generated for calculated views that are created graphically?

    Hi Mike,
    For your calculation view you will find the corresponding column view created in schema '_SYS_BIC'-->Column Tables->
    <packagename>/<Calculation view> --> Open Definition of this and check the 'create statement'.
    Note: This is a information modeler generated SQL script which will show the generated Calculation Scenario and the respective Column View.

  • Anyone got a SQL script that outputs Oracle create statements?

    Hi all,
    I've been using a data modeling tool (ER/Studio from Embarcadero Technologies) to design my database (which currently is 11g XE running on Win7). I need to ensure that the data model and database are 100% in sync. My lack of DBA abilities now haunts me. I need to accomplish one of two things.
    1. Run a SQL script that outputs the full compliment of Oracle CREATE statements that define my app's database (BTW, all of my tables are prefixed with "PT_").
    2. Connect ER/Studio with the local 11g XE database.
    Unless someone is familiar with ER/Studio reverse-engineering, I imagine #1 above is the more straightforward solution. Does anybody have such a script they can share with me?
    Thanks so much,

  • Running sql script files to re create database

    We have having around 10 sql script file that has sql statments inside it (example insert .... delete...update.... etc).Right now what we do is that in jdbc we open each script file, and read each line ,and then make jdbc call run jdbc for each sql statement inside the file.
    Wondering if there is a better way to do this.
    Right now the challenges are
    1)The process goes wrong if there is an extra semi colon ...or extra space after a statments...etc...Basically I find this way of creating data odd...
    2)it is slow because of the network traffic between application server and database server for every sql statements that gets executed.The solution for this issue is to do a batch update....But still I dont like this solution.
    Can someone give me any better idea.
    I am thinking to have all this sql script moved to a store procedure (rather than inside the sql script file) .JDBC then can pick this store procedure sql file ,and create this store procedure via jdbc, and then execute this store procedure.
    This will be faster because all the sql will be running in the databsase.Only one trip to database to call this store procedure.
    Is this a good idea ?
    thx

    mI'm not 100% sure i follow (it's Friday and i have a mild case of ADD).
    Are you suggesting having the Java application create procedures in the database on the fly? If so i would say that's not a good idea.
    Create the stored procedures in the database, have Java call them as needed to process data.
    If you need to load copious amounts of data, look in to external tables, it's possible they could come in handy for what you are doing .... or not ... again, it's hard to say given i find your description of what's currently happening somewhat confusing.
